I have had this for a loooong time and bought it at a CCO. I recently picked it up again... because I hadn't used it in a while and wanted to try a variation of a look I do with the Naked palette. I really love the packaging. I think its pretty. Maid of honor is really soft so it has a pretty good dip in it.I mostly use the left side. The right side can look a little ashy on me by the brown shimmery color really helps warm it up and make the whole palette wearable. I love the versatility of it. I can do a night time vampy look with it or something subtle for the office. So this little palette is going to get a lot of love again.

LOVE this palette. I have actually hit pan on Maid of Honor and have put good dents in almost every other shade. A bonus is that I picked it up at CCO, but honestly I would have paid full price for it. The shades compliment each other well. The little brush included in the palette actually isn't awful, and I have used it in a pinch. The quality of the actual palette case is great, it lived in my purse for over a year without any noticeable wear. I reach for it several times a week!

I'm a little late to be reviewing this palette, but after seeing the mediocre reviews, I just had to voice out and say: I love this palette!!! Yes the brown color is a little out of place and the packaging is a little much, but 2006 was the last time Mac released great holiday palettes. 2007-2009 didn't impress me very much. I find that this palette has everything I need to create a smokey eye look and a fresh understated look. I never thought I could pull off greys until now. If you get a chance to try this palette or any of the palettes from Royal Assets, I suggest you take it.

When I first opened this palette I thought the colors were a bit blah and the color Majestic was out of place with the other grey based shades, but it's a surprisingly nice assortment of colors that really work well together. Colors include(starting from left working down): Maid of Honor(S) looks like Naked Lunch in the pan but applies as a neutral light beige which is fabulous being the NL turned orangey on my NC15 complexion. For a satin shade, Made of Honor is a little chalkier then I'm used to, but still usable.Palatial(S) is a slightly lighter version of French Grey(nuff said;)..Majestic(L)this color is sort of difficult to describe..It reminds me of the color of a wet terracotta flower pot..It's more brown, though it has that slight reddish orange quality to it in the undertones. and while I usually hate lustres, the glitter in this isn't as bad as some of the lustre..goes on smoothly with minimal fall out and it looks really good in the crease with Palatial on the lid and Maid of Honor as a highlight.. (Down the right side from the top)..Rondelle(F) looks like UD Vapor to me..it's a pale white/silver but Rondelle has some slight bluish tones to it so I don't use it to highlight. Courtly Grey(M) appears in the pan as a fresh cement color but it applies a little darker on me..almost like the color of faded newsprint...not quite black but a little more than grey. Finally there's Knight(VP) which is a gorgeous gunmetal grey that doesn't go blue on me**Yay**. I use Courtly Grey on my lids then Knight over that with Rondelle to add some light to the inner corners. So, if you can get a hold of this for a reasonable price(CCO not Ebay) then definitely check it out.

I LOVE it! The colors are beautiful and the matte colors are actually a big plus for someone my age with fine lines. No creasing, colors that suit every skin tone and colors that are buildable; therefore, this is not limited to evening wear. I loved the packaging as well. Call it the powers of marketing, but I thought it was clever having the metal case - so regal. :-) It kind of makes you feel pampered when putting on your makeup.

It's a nice palette but the colors are a little bit too light for a smokey look. So a few darker shades would have been nice. The pigmentation of the colors are really good, it's a nice palette but it does not blow me away..

i love this palate. i don't end up using the mattes as much, but the shimmery silver and the pink is REALLY nice. plus, the packaging on this is wonderful. the big mirror inside can actually be used to help apply! haha. the little brush is great in a pinch too.

Oh, what a lovely, lovely palette this is!!! Inside out – all gorgeous! Love the shades and can play with them easily to create different looks. When I go travelling I don’t need any other eye shadows with me; this palette has everything. The brush is useless though, but it’s sure compensated by pretty packaging. Can’t wait to get my hands on MAC’s next years Holiday edition.

Love this palette! The colors are so versatile, it's perfect for those days when you need a polished eye look but can't put much thought or time into it. Contrary to other reviews, I think all of the shades in the palette work well together. It makes for a wonderful, subtle, daytime smokey eye look.

I'm usually not one suckered into purchasing a product due to pretty packaging but it did factor into my decision to buy this palette. I just love the silver packaging including the logo on the front. It was only $25 at the Cosmetics Company Outlet. These are pretty decent quality but I find them not to be equivalent to MAC's single eyeshadows and one of the colors was a bit chalky. It's a good palette if you want to create neutral smokey eyes looks but if you already own a wide array of eyeshadow shades, they're probably very similar to colors you already own. I also have to complain about the lack of a dark liner shade..that is a must for any smokey eyes palettes. I wouldn't repurchase this.

I really bought this at an impulse because I love the packaging. Mac's royal assets collection has the best look to it. For me, I bought it at the cosmetic company for $25.50, so I guess my expectations weren't that high. At first I didn't like how dark the colors were and the two colors in the middle looked the same on my skin. I wish there was a more of a contrast in this palette, but it is more smokey eyes. After a while, I grew to like it. The metallic color and Knight are my favorites. They make my eyes stand out.
I gave this a four out of five, because I am satisfied with it. But I would have never bought it at full price. If I did I wouldn't like the palette this much with its quality.

This is my least favorite MAC palette, the colors don't stick very well even with primer and when they do stick they make me look sick. The black smoky eye side is okay but the brown neutral colors suck. I do like the packaging though, very nice other than that I prefer MAC's other pigments. I couldn't get any colors out of these, when I did it looked horrible.

When I saw this on the M.A.C. site, I fell in love with the packaging. My DH surprised me with it for Xmas!! It's my first M.A.C. palette and it's wonderful for me. I won't go through the shades again, since they've been listed, but this palette has a lot of potential for different looks, both wild and demure. The brush is just amazing (see separate review). Even my 67 year old MIL was awed by how pretty the case is, and she's not into makeup in general and had never heard of M.A.C.
Wouldn't repurchase, but I will love it and pet it and call it mine!
:)

For someone who's looking for a very neutral look, it's a good choice, however it seems to me that a darker shadow in this palette would be nice and easier to make the combos between the other shadows, by the way I liked.
