The Maybelline ExpertWear eyeshadow singles i have to say are absolutely amazing!!! I use to think they werent that great based on i had a few older trios that were ok but i have to say Maybelline overall is pretty great w/ shadows and Creme de Cocoa is a great basic brown to own!
Maybelline is widely available in most drugstores or mass retailers like Walmart & Target as well as CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid stores. I can find Maybelline ExpertWear singles in most drugstores. The price will vary slightly depending on your location, where you purchase them as well as discounts/sales. But generally speaking, the single shadows will cost you around $3, it be less or more. As always, i highly suggests bargain shopping w/sales & coupons bc you can get these for a great price if you do so since Maybelline will sometimes be so kind to put a $1 off coupon in the P&G saver coupon booklet so watch for those. & sales in drugstores may seem like a good deal but if you price them sometimes it not even a deal in the end- it all depends though but either way, $3 for an eyeshadow is actually pretty cheap!
Creme de Cocoa is an awesome basic medium to dark brown that is MATTE! yes matte shadow from the drugstore brands which were once non existent but this is one of the first matte shadows i bought.Creme de Cocoa is a matte medium chocolate brown w/ red brick undertones. Its not too red that it makes my extremely pale skin or eyes look sickly, its the perfect matte brown to use for contouring the crease or outer v area. Its also nice to work with for brown smoky eyes. Its nice to have a few matte browns for adding dimension esp when i know personally i have so many metallics or shimmer shadows that having a matte color esp in the crease area, it helps tone it down a bit. This color is almost like the shadow in the Designer Chocolate quad or the Chai Latte Quad, with no shimmer or sparkle. But its not exaclty like them which is why i luv this color bc some of the singles are shadows which can be found in the quads or trios but this color is unique!! so def a must buy i think! such a great matte brown esp for those w/ super pale/light skin like me that i dont consider placing blacks into my crease unless i want a super dramatic look. It is pigmented, smooth, soft, not chalky or hard, it applies so nice on the eye w/ any brush. its blends nicely. It can be built up for more intensity as well. I really do enjoy this color!
The Maybelline ExpertWear Single shadows come in the standard maybelline packaging which is hard plastic that i find sturdy & never really breaks but the clear less sturdy lids & hinges do tend to break or snap sometimes so be careful. The singles have a sticker on the back w/labeling info & logo & shade name thats big & easy to see as well as a sticker thats connected to the lid w/ name of shadow too. its not the fanciest but i dont mind it. Inside is a nice big size pan of shadow & it runs deep as well. So i luv that they give me a huge amount of shadow that will probably take a lifetime to use up. I havent even made a dent in any of mine. There is also a divet where they include the ever so infamous drugstore double ended foam applicators that do work if needed. There not as bad as some say bc actually i will be glad to have one when there is a time i forget brushes! So the packaging i cant say is the best but it does its job. id love to depot my shadows but im afraid to mess them up also i like having smaller palettes instead of a huge one.
Overall, Creme de Cocoa is a great medium to semi dark matte brown to own! def recommend for everyone esp those with light to med skin but even darker tones will appreciate a good skintone color thats matte & will be a nice transitional color! i love this single & use it quite a bit! Def try this or at least one of the Maybelline eyeshadows. They have since "reformulated" their shadows which seems to happen every 2 years & find the shadows are even more pigmented & smooth & amazing!

This little gem was a pleasant surprise hit.
Price: $4-ish CAD
Colour: matte chocolate brown
This is a lovely deep brown colour for any skin tones. It's also a good contour shade for medium skin tones <3 I use it more as as contour shade for cheeks everyday
Age: 25-29 Skin: Sensitive, Fair Hair: Brunette Eyes: Hazel
A great quality totally matte reddish slightly plum toned deep chocolate brown that makes a totally wearable daytime smokey eye paired with smudged black pencil eyeliner. I have purchased a back-up incase I can't get it again.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Sensitive, Fair-Medium, Warm Hair: Brunette, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Brown
I wasn't expecting to love this seeing as it's just a dollar store brand- oh man, do I change my mind! This is great for contouring, shadow, liner, AND bronzer! Re-buying forever!
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Sensitive, Fair-Medium Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
When I saw this on sale at Rite Aid for $2.50-$3, why not? I needed a matte neutral color anyway. My, oh my, I have looked down on drugstore makeup for the past few years, and this one eyeshadow has really changed my perspective. Very pigmented, and very gorgeous color! This is probably perfect for any occasion.

i would repurchase this forever!
i was on the lookout for a matte eyeshadow i could contour my nose with and was planning to drop by mac. but one day at zellers i saw this for $3 and noticed it was the colour i was looking for and MATTE (so hard to find with drugstore lines) so i took it home and love it. highly pigmented, creamy, smooth, easy to blend, long lasting and CHEAP! so glad i didn't walk into mac..
i dont like the packaging tho cuz it fell off my dresser and the lid came off.
but newho i use this to contour my nose and sometimes in my crease.

My 3-in-1 product. This eyeshadow is great. I use it as eyebrow shader, eyeshadow & eyeliner. The best thing about this is that it stays put by itself. No need for any shadow primer. As an eyebrow shader, the color is just right since I have jet black hair, it's in the medium dark shade so for me, it's perfect. As an eyeshadow, it gives my asian eyes just a little oomph without trying very hard, and trust me putting this on does not take any effort since it's matte. As an eyeliner, wow, it's powder so it does not not smudge, how neat is that?!
Age: 30-35 Skin: Combination, Olive Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
I bought this shade trying to find a look- alike of Smog's Urban Decay. It is not like Urban Decay's. For my skin tone, this color doesn't do much. It is very boring to me, a color to go out to do errands in.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Normal, Fair Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
This is the perfect brown eyeshadow for me. It's matte and it last a long time. HG brown eyeshadow for me. I used this to contour my face and my creases. Looks natural and try to catch this on a BOGO
Age: 44-55 Skin: Very Dry, Fair Hair: Blond Eyes: Brown
I really like this color. Eyeshadows really change on me, and most browns are just off in color for me. I thought this might be too red when I bought it, but it is surprisingly neutral. It's the perfect balance of warmth and cool for my coloring. It goes on smoothly and I don't need much. I'm quite pleased.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Fair, Neutral Hair: Red, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Hazel
Nice matte shadow. As a redhead I use it as a brow filler, it has that nice auburn tone that works well for the purpose, as well as not having any sheen. Have also used as a shadow and I have to say it is a nice everyday shade. Not too flashy but a good everyday wear!

This now has a new formula, it works very well. Usually I don't care for this brand of eyeshadow but it is nicely pigmented , and I use it as an eyeliner/shadow. Great quality and wears well, would even compare it to mac shadows.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Normal, Fair-Medium Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue
This is great, long lasting eye shadow and I really like the color. It is a matte, chocolatey brown which looks really great with my pale skin and very light, bright blue eyes...it really makes them pop. I highly recommend this color for ladies with similar coloring, especially those with blue eyes.
