This is a review for both the Sandal one and the Original Green one.

GREEN- This is the oldest and the first soap Medimix came up with. Original formula and original packaging. It's a great soap and has been around in India for a really long time. It has a very herbal scent and I could say it is a tad stronger for those with sensitive noses. While using this soap in the shower keep sprinkling water and run the soap over repeatedly. This will give a lot of foam and will clean skin better. DO NOT USE IT WITH EXFOLIATING GLOVES! It's strong and will make skin drier than usually used without it. But hey, I am not here to scare. This is really a fantastic soap. Its all natural and has 18 HERBAL EXTRACTS....that's a lot for your skin and your skin should love a wash with so many good herbal stuff. Its very beneficial. I have used this soap for years and it has kept my skin even toned, soft and healthy.

SANDAL ONE- Now this soap I LOVE. IT's got sooooo many good stuff in it. It has SLS too but there is so much herbal ingredients that outweigh the sls content. Its got more than 25 (I think its 28, I forgot. I dont have the packaging right now) herbal ingredients/extracts. I used this soap when I was a student. I used to be stressed all the time and had bad health (I ate junk food all the time) resulting in bad skin... bumps, tiny pimples and whiteheads etc. I used this for 3 years and believe me, this soap is a miracle. I have clear skin, tighter, radiant, far from pimples, bumps and whiteheads. I dont even use a primer which once was a thing I swore by. I have soft skin all over my body and its all even toned :)

I love the sandal one more than the green one. Most Indians prefer the green one because its very old and has been around for many decades but the sandal one is more effective. Now one may ask. So many ingredients?? WHY? Isnt is all messed up and mixed like it makes no sense? Let me tell you why. I asked my grandmother and here's what she said. She said that the ingredients are chosen carefully. There are hundreds out there. You cant use them all. Each ingredient has its own reaction with another and gives a certain result. That's how these soaps are made. They are tested and tried thoroughly. I am currently not using any of the above soaps because I have gone back to my second favorite CHANDRIKA soap. I have reviewed that one too. I alternate between Chandrika and Medimix sandal soaps. They are the only permanent soaps for me. Although, I avoid these soaps in winter because they are way too drying. Otherwise, these soaps are great for the rest of the year. Oh btw, I forgot to mention that I dont use much make up. My skin is so even toned that I hardly use any makeup to cover up. May be BB creams but only on occasions. Thanks to these herbal soaps :)

DEC 2011: I brought this based on the good reviews online & saw someone recommend this on a YT vid about ways to clear spot/blemish prone skin so I purchased a duo of both the Green & Orange version off Ebay for just £3.50 inc p&p. So based on the inexpensive factor alone I figured this is worth a try.

I use the green in the morning as it's said best for dry skin & the orange a night for it's blemish fighting properties as I have combination skin. So far I'm impressed by how smooth these makes me face feel whether or not I use them alongside my manual face brush. No other soaps I've used in the past have been this skin smoothing.

I'd say that for a soap this is one of the least drying I've ever used although my skin can feel quite tight afterwards (used alongside hard UK water) so I always follow with a moisturiser. These soaps have a noticeable scent which is not the greatest but not too overbearing either. It's a natural smell though as these contain no fragrance. I'm loving the fact that these are made up of all natural ingredients, nothing harsh & are gentle enough for even baby skin apparently.

Hopefully my alternating use between the 2 will achieve my desired results: less or no more breakouts & fading my hyper-pigmentation which has been a never ending quest of mine since forever, I shall update in good time....

EDIT: this hasn't done much to hinder spots or additional scarring at all so I definitely won't be buying again. The most I can credit it for it its smoothing qualities for a soap.

This soap is a lot like Chandrika, except for more sophisticated packaging and better marketing.

Love the scent and all those medicinal herbs in it. Just wish it had more herbal oil, as it can leave the skin quite dry.

I purchased this on a whim, I had run out of my regular (expensive) cleanser and was making do with samples until I could find time to go shopping in town. One day I was at a local Indian grocery store and came across this soap bar. At $1.80, there wasn’t much to lose. I brought it home and did a little research online. There were such great reviews!

I use it the same way I use my regular cleanser. Lather well in the palms of my hands (so the cleanser will slip across the skin and not drag the skin) – and I always double cleanse. First cleanse to remove grime, 2nd round to really clean.

At night I use a body shop face brush as well. Been loving it so far and am on my 2nd bar of soap

I really do like this product. I have been battling acne for years. I feel that since the ingredients are so natural this is not irritating and my acne is finally calming down after 10yrs.

I went to this Indian store here where I live just wanting to look around and buy something different for a change. I bought this Medimix not ever reading or hearing anything about it before. I love this stuff. I am not crazy about the smell but I can get over that. This bar of soap cost me a little over $1 and couldn't work better for me. It is an Ayurvedic soap and is made up of 18 different herbs. Would definitely recommend!

If I could I would give this a ten. Its awesome! my bumps on my face stared going down at first use I could feel it. 18 herbs lather oh so well to your skin. It feels amazing. The fragrance is great too. Can be overwhelming if you use soap on skin. I suggest lathering it up with a loofah or something. It is so cheap and doesn't have any chemicals which I LOVE!!! Woo Hoo!

great ayurvedic soap. I love everything ayurvedic. too bad we dont get all the good stuff here in united states. But this one is available in many indian grocery stores. It is pretty good if you live in a humid climate or if you get too sweaty (by playing, exercise etc.). I really wish they make a version for dryer climate by adding some natural moisturizer like honey.

Super drying on face, if u live in dry climates.

I am from Mumbai, now settled in nyc. Medimix soap is used in most of the households in India. Its is very natural and uses lot of ayurvedic ingredients. Earlier in india i used this soap on my body n face, but it was fine there cos of the humid climate. Also i never used any facial moisturisers nd my skin used to be soft n clear. But when i moved to ny, i cudnt live without moisturiser!! And also a light face soap like clinique's mild face wash. Medimix made my face dry. But i still use it on my body, cos of the healing properties and nothing else. i dont ike to use lot of chemicals n am using green products. So medimix fits that bill well.
also whenever i see any small pimple(during periods ) on my face, i lather medimix up, and literally place lather dot(very little just to cover the pimple, and let it dry, for like 10 mins. Then wash it off. It wors for me.
I love medimix.. wish i cud use it for my face too.
my folks back home swear by it.!!!! i love it.
I stock up lots of medimix whenever i visit indian grocery stores.

All you ladies out there, you gotta try this Medimix Ayurvedic Soap. It's made out of 18 herbs and it's all handmade. I found this at a Indian grocery store, but they have a website, http://www.cholayil.com, that you can check it out. I've been using this for a week, and it's clearing up my blemish and giving me such a soft skin. It's so natural that you can use it on babies. Not so crazy about the smell but it's all natural so I'll keep using it for a while.
