I was very lucky to get this in a swap! I love my nudes especially the pinky nudes. This is so nice.........perfect color for me. I hope someday Mac will bring it back! I am fair.............NC15/20 for reference. This as a base with the right liner and a touch of gloss is heaven for me!

I'm fair and have relatively pigmented lips. I loathe "concealer lips" which is likely why this has gone ignored for a few years. However, I my interest in my lipsticks has been renewed, and I found a great way to wear this that really suits me. Since it's a satin and a bit drying, this isn't a good idea for super dry lips. Instead of swiping this across my lips, I just dab it on my lips (no base or balm) so that it isn't super opaque, but it hides my natural lip colour. Then I just use a lip balm (not gloss, I hate gloss - long hair + gloss + wind = ew) over top with my finger. It gives the lipstick some sheen, but without making it shiny. This lasts longer on my lips than any of my other lipsticks, which are mostly glazes. This is one of my favourite lippies, although I didn't know it until recently!

*sigh* ... All the really fabulous nude lipsticks I encounter are always Limited Edition! Masque is the absolute perfect pale pink/nude that I've ever come across. It's a satin finish, so it applies opaque, is incredibly smooth and has great color payoff and wear. It's a very delicate soft pink, with a very slight grey/beige undertone. It's more neutral than cool though, which is what makes it perfection! This lipstick looks magnificent paired with ultra smoked out eye makeup and a rose cheeks. Definite holy grail for this NC40 gal!

I bought this while looking for a nice lighter lipstick as I have a tendency to only buy dark reds. It looks nice, but not brilliant and it really only looks good when paired with a gloss on top. The color is only slightly lighter than my lip tone and tends to make me look a little washed out. I mainly use it as a mixer or a second lip color now.

One of my favorite MAC lipsticks I've ever purchased, and it's running out. =[

Pretty pale, greyish pink imo. Doesn't sound flattering, but used as a base with a lipgloss, and properly lined lips, it is STUNNING. VERY runway, as is why I'd imagine it was released for the McQueen collection. I hope they reintroduce this one.

masque is such a lovely color in the tube and on so many girls in pics here, however for me, NC20ish with medium pigmented lips, I just can't seem to get it to work for me. It's so cool toned and concealer-ish. The only way I can get it to not look creepy on me is to apply it lightly over lip conditioner and then topping it with Pretty Plush plushglass. Even then I have yet to wear it outside the house. I always lose my nerve and wipe it off before I leave the house. Its so funny that I'm less comfortable in this than something bold like Rozz Revival, Bazaarish, or a red. I think I might end up swapping this baby, but it will be tough since I'm so stupidly sentimental about the McQueen packaging. Wouldn't buy again.

UPDATE!::: 05-11-09 - i must have been on crack because over the last few months this lipstick has quietly become an HG. I think I just wasn't used to seeing myself in light nude lips, but once I started wearing Florabundance lipglass, I slowly became more comfortable. I still like to apply this lightly over a teeeeeeeny bit of lipbalm, but i don't really wear gloss over it anymore. I looooooooove this lipstick, and am so glad i never swapped it. I need a couple backups!!

I bought this a few weeks ago and I love it. I'm nw15/20 with brown hair and eyes and it really suits me. it looks especially good with a bit of gloss over it. Its a nice dirty pinky colour and is quite subtle. I bought a backup of this product yesterday!

This lipstick looks terrible on me if used on its own - too pale and pasty. With a layer of clear lipgloss on top it doesn't look too bad though. Still I wouldn't buy it again. There are so many other nicer and easier products out there.

Dear Girls Who are Warm Toned and Above and About NC20:

In my humble opinion, do not bother. It will make you look like interesting death. No matter how nice it swatches on hand, no matter how buildable it is, it is ugly ugly ugly death. "Rosy dirty pink" be smoten, it is severely cool-toned and only goes pornstar if you attempt to apply l/g over it. I would've kept it only if I didn't have six thousand other opaque nudes over which I could layer lipglosses that would change colour on bare lips.

Let this all be a cautionary tale, young padawans - pretty packaging does not a good lipstick make, and impulse B2M'ing is the work of the devil. Resist, I say, resist!

Regards,

Glossedup

P.S. It's a Satin. Nice formula, but. And I'm sure the six million PPPs will come to it's defense, it just looks like I've done a Jenna Jameson zombie.

I am NC25 (Studio Fix), C3 (MAC Face & Body), 30 (Chanel), 2 (MUFE Face & Body, winter) & OC02 (Lunasol Intellectual Powder foundation, winter)

Too bad this shade is LE because it's such a nice pinky nude lipstick. The texture of this lipstick isn't bad either although I prefer lustres and slimshines and Mattenes from MAC. It doesn't dry out my lips but then again, it doesn't moisturize them. I have really pigmented lips but it still shows up on me as a pinky nude without making me look like a slutty corpse. highly recommended!

I'm seeking out a backup of this tomorrow, I am absolutely in love with it. It's the perfect pale pinky nude for my skintone. I'm def sad it's LE and I may have to check out snob to see if it's even remotely acceptable.

I edited my review for this product. I don't know why I thought this looked good on me at any point! It's way too cool toned for me and makes me look quite ashy and blah. I think I'm going to swap it away!

This color is a great pinky-nude for a FFF, blonde haired, blue eyed gal w/neutral skintones. I love it paired with McQueen l/g in White Magic, just perfection. I have small lips and w/my lipliner too this makes my lips look nice and pouty!

I love this pale nude lipstick and felt like I had to come to its defense after seeing all the bad reviews, lol. As with most nudes, it's all about skintone. I'm neutral to warm (Alima N1, MAC NC15) and love this. It is probably the coolest nude I own, but it does still work for me and it's actually just what I was looking for. I don't get the lavender tone some others are getting, but I do have pigmented lips. Overall, this is one that absolutely has to be tried on to evaluate. I bought 2!

For some reason, this beautiful, pinky-nude shade manages to look like an ashy white-lavender on me which makes me look like I am about to attend an embalmer's convention as the model...ick, just doesn't work on me...too bad too, since I thought it looked so nice in the tube. Perhaps if it had gold in it, it would work with my yellow undertones...

UPDATE (9/22/08): glossedup couldn't have said it better...this really isn't for anyone darker than NC15. Blonde PPP's can get away with this shade and that's about it. It just doesn't work on the darker ladies...Don't get me wrong now. You might have some strong desire to look dead...say for a scary Halloween costume or something. But please don't wear it if you want to look healthy! It's too grey, it's too blah, and just not a one-shade-fits-all lippie...

This is a gorgeous rosy pink satin l/s. I understand why some people have trouble with this lipstick, it's not something everyone can pull off. Personally i was on the edge about getting this because i have C3 skin and it's kinda hard to find suitable nudes but i was seduced by the swatches on specktra. Eventually i caved in and got it with B2M.
If i put this on too generously, i look like death. But one layer, smack my lips together and it's the perfect tone (for me). Also it pairs perfectly with purple eyes or smokey eyes. The other day, i put touchpoint 3d glass on top of it and omg, it looked awesome, very....sweet looking (not sure how to describe it). I've found that with any nude that's "borderline wash out looking", when you add gloss it makes all the difference. Really glad i got this because most of the l/s i have are warm based.

This color didn't work on me at all, sadly. I loved the premise of a light pink nude lippie, but when I put it on I just looked...weird. It blanked out my very pigmented lips quite effectively, but replaced the color with an almost lilac-y pinkish grey. Not a good look for me. I've seen pictures of it on other girls looking just amazing, though- so I'd have to say that this is one of those lippies that you might just have to try for yourself! For a light pink nude, I'll stick with Rimmel's Airy Fairy for now.

I'm a big fan of Alexander McQueen, so when I found out that he was collaborating with MAC, I was excited to try the products from this collection.

I tried this on at the store, but was deceived, in part because the SA applied it lightly with a lip brush, and also because she didn't wipe off what I had on before. (CARGO Plant Love in Lindsay, which is a brighter pink, and much more moisturizing.)

This reminds me, in some way, of Viva Glam II. When I apply too much, it does have a tendency to look a little gray and also looks thick and cakey (especially after I've had it on for over 30 min or so), even though my lips are naturally pink.

I've been just lightly blotting it on and then smudging it in with my fingers, which makes for a nice nude-pink lip effect. However, like all other MAC Satin lippies, this does have a tendency to dry out my lips, so I started wearing a balm underneath.

Probably would not repurchase again, but the novelty of it is nice.

I love pink nudes so I thought that Masque would be perfect for me. I bought it on a whim without trying it on because I was so confident that it would work for me. Well, it didn't. I found this to be way too matte and it really washed me out. IMO it looks a little like Blankety. Even with Blankety I have to put a l/g over it b/c it also washes me out. I suppose it would look really good with a dramatic eye but I like 15 Minutes (LE) so much better for that. Back to the store it went.
