I've been using this mineral powder for years for two reasons:It doesn't clog my pores and they have a color(quartz) that's actually light enough for me. Do I love this product though?Meh. It's not completely terrible but I think I can find something a lot better, and I'm in the process of doing so. The formula for matte and superpower are pretty chalky and sometimes you get a speck of unblended, darker pigment and it looks like you have small scratch on your face. I'm pretty oily, but since I wash my face before application,it was too drying for me.I do apply a light moisturizer afterwards, too. I don't want to load on lotion for it to actually go on smoothly, and it feels like I have to most of the time.I can't use heavy lotions or primers on my acne prone skin.It did provide decent coverage, but once my face got oily again it streaks on your face.I'll only continue to use this if I can't find anything else.

I love Fyrinnae's eye shadows. The colors rock and the samples are huge. I have very oily skin and read a lot of favorable reviews about those with oily skin and this foundation. The foundation from my experience however leaves a lot to be desired. Mine was chunky and chalky. The coverage was good but looked chalky and had to definitely be "buffed" in. The color selection is very limited but I'm very fair so this wasn't a problem for me. I bought several sample sizes and still have them about because this foundation just doesn't give a look that is natural or flattering.

I normally don't bother with mineral foundations because I have very oily skin and large pores. However, this is the first one that seems to work well for me. I ordered Pyrite in the matte finish. I'm normally an NC20 or thereabouts and this was perfect. Definitely not too dark, as I expected (I'm used to ordering the lightest foundation color available in any particular line). It does have chunks in it - not completely smooth - but that doesn't seem to negatively affect the quality. It has great coverage - covers everything. Because it's a powder, it is a little flat but if you have oily skin, that can be a good thing. The staying power is also very good. Can't say much about oil control - but, does any foundation really control oil? This one certainly doesn't make the situation any worse. I've worn it with primer and without primer - both were fine. In a nutshell, it's a simple, effective foundation that I would buy again.

Chanel's Teint Innocence used to be my favourite foundation but I developed a sensitivity to it towards the end of my 1st bottle. I decided to switch to mineral foundation for their simpler formulations and this is what I reach for everyday now.
The coverage can be from medium to full depending on how much you layer it on. Finish is matte. I apply this after their Powder Primer and use Fluff as a finishing powder. When I need to look more 'glamourous' , I spritz Avene's thermal water after foundation, wait for it to dry, then apply Fluff. This always leaves me with a luminous glowy look. (You probably can use Mac's Fix+ too but I find it too sticky)
MAC NC20 skintone (but it is probably too yellow for me), and I've found a perfect match in a blend of 25% Moonstone & 75% Pyrite.

I agree that the foundation is ok. What it does in it's favor is - give matte coverage, stay on, cover decently. There aren't a lot of color options but I found a close match and was able to use my samples. It's a very dry powder like consistency so I think it would be good for oily skin but I won't buy again cause it's too dry and flat looking on me.

I love Fyr's eye shadows and the website so after many successes with other makeup items by them I thought I'd give the foundation a try. Not so pleased with this at all. It wasn't awful it was just very powdery and very dry. It's not one that I wish I could send back, I only purchases a sample and they don't offer sample sizes of foundation any longer. The color was decent but the finish and feel was just too dry and powdery. Nothing I'd go back for more for. Maybe if you have super oily skin, I have normal, then this would be a winner for you.

I love this foundation. It is the only mineral foundation I've tried, so I have nothing else to compare it to. It gives great coverage, and it lasts all day. You do definitely have to be well moisturized to use it, though. I make sure my face is dewy before application.
I purchased the moonstone shade in matte, which is actually a shade too light for me. It is very pale. I'm usually the lightest shade in drugstore foundations, but I am going to go with pyrite when I repurchase this. I'm thinking a mix between moonstone and pyrite would be perfect.
The jars that Fyrinnae uses do have a tendency to not stay tightly closed, especially the sample sizes. However, when my order arrived, everything was nicely packed and I didn't have any spillage problems.
EDIT: I never reordered this and do not plan on doing so. I have been using EDM for a few months, and I love it. EDM applies better and smoother.

This is ok but not great. I tried this in the Matte finish. I won't be purchasing a bigger size for a few reasons. 1. I had solid chunks in my samples - the quality is not nearly as fine as Everyday Minerals. 2. This tends to streak more when applying with a damp brush (which is my preferred application technique). 3. Performs about the same as Everyday Minerals Semi Matte, so I have no real incentive to buy another brand. I prefer EM's jars too - they have sifters even in their sample sizes.

After reading all the good reviews about this product, I decide to order samples online. First off, PayPal did not work on the site so I had to enter in my credit card information. Secondly, when the package did arrive the lids weren't closed properly causing all my orders to be covered with powder.
So to the actual review of this product...
The actual foundation was chalky. As much as I wanted to love it because I have acne-prone oily skin, it just didn't feel right. From the application I could tell that it would feel like I had make up caked on my face...and I was correct in my assumption. It provided great coverage but made my skin look EXTREMELY dry like I needed a good moisturizer. I wanted to try something new since my EDM makes me produce a lot of oil on my face. But this just horrid. I ordered 3 different colours (moonstone, quartz, and pyrite). The first two were way too light for me and I use Fairly Light in EDM. The latter was too "tanned" for me. I feel like I wasted money on the samples! I guess I will stay with EDM for now.
The nice thing was that they gave me a free eye shadow sample. Too bad I don't wear brown colour eyeshadow as pretty as it may be.

AFter reading the reviews and dying to try this I waited patiently till they got their website up and running and could take orders (down for awhile). I then waited patiently till it arrived. It took so long that I had pretty much almost forgotten about it. After it did what a disappointment. One of the eye minerals had leaked on everything. After I got rid of the dark teal on everything I tried all the samples, primers, veils I had gotten. Sorry, but this was the worst mineral makeup I've tried. It was like putting talcum powder on your face. Everything about it was so funky that I could never wear it in public. My advice is go with BE's foundation for color and Maybelline for the veil. I've tried quite a few and those seem to work well for the price. Maybelline's foundation would probably be ok if it didn't look so orange. Actually, I have better luck w/their compact mineral foundation for color. I wish they'd come out w/the veil in compact, too, because the other gets everywhere when you try to use it for touchups later (like your car, dark clothes if you're not careful).

I am new to mineral foundations and this is the first one I have tried. I'd been looking for a while, but they can be expensive (or less expensive but in kits which seems wasteful, because what do you do with the colors you don't use?) and generally have mixed reviews on MUA. I first heard of Fyrinnae here and decided to try it because it has good reviews and is really inexpensive - my thinking being it might be a good "starter" mineral makeup and I could branch out into more expensive brands if I felt the need.
I haven't been using this for very long, but so far I am pleased. I have it in Moonstone in the sheen finish. I think it's a bit shinier than I like, and I just ordered a sample of the same color in the matte finish (obviously the color worked well for me). I also have Peridot, which the Fyrinnae site says can be used to tone down redness. It's too dark for me, but I definitely have ruddiness on my cheeks and red around the sides and bottom of my nose. I mix the Peridot and the Moonstone 50/50 and apply with a Stila #9 brush (which is perfect for spot application) and go over it with Moonstone by itself when I do the rest of my face and it does an excellent job of toning down the redness.
Overall, I am very pleased with this product. The Moonstone color is a perfect match for my skintone, which is often a problem for me, so I was pleased to find one. The sheen finish is OK, might be better in the winter when my skin doesn't tend to have so much natural sheen to it. I'm really happy with the level of coverage it provides. It does an excellent job evening out my skintone without looking unnatural, and it lasts very well.
I just ordered samples of the primer and finishing powder, and am looking forward to trying them out.

I have fallen in love with fyrinnae. It is easy to find a perfect match as you can order samples of colors very cheaply. They have a wide variety of colors and formulas to choose from. I use citrine matte and love it. It has great staying power, especially when paired with the rice powder primer. The powder has great coverage and is not mask-like at all! I tend to find some powders a but drying as I am combo skin but this one feels great on my face all day. I wont hesitate to buy it again and again, especially at its extremely cheap price. The company has a great shipping deal, free shipping with a purchase of 25 dollars or more, which is not hard to do.

I really like this foundation! its a medium to high coverage mineral foundation. Which is great for oily skins in humid and hot weather. (yes i live in a hot and humid place, my skin is ultra oily)
I have this in the sheen version. IMO its not as shiny as EDM original glo, but it gives you that "your glowing" look , without looking oily or fake. This is also more matte than EDM in matte and pureluxe foundation. This controls my oily face better than EDM or pureluxe!
I tried this on today just by itself, with no primer or finishing powder.. and it held up really well! It was still matte after 6 hours (and that was after perspiring)
I did need to blot two times later in the day. But overall it did really well .. because it was truly sweltering hot today.
It covers really well, it give me an almost airbrushed look, and WITHOUT looking cakey! :) Its very finely milled so it does go on easily with a kabuki or flat top..
This does not go off if you perspire or get wet. Yet it is easy to remove with cleansing oil or olive oil. It does not break me out (if it does i will update)
Overall im really leased with it! I will get a full sized with my next fyrinnae order..Im citirine shade in fyrinnae MMU (for ref. Im NC 25, edm golden light, pure luxe ivory)

Edited 8.22.08: Here we are in the dead of summer in CA, and I think that extended use of this in the matte version, and the similar, EM Intensive formula, cause my skin to overcompensate with oil production. It may provide more coverage and it absorbs oil but it seems to dry skin out over time and then my oily skin overreacts to the dryness as it would a harsh astringent if I use this too often. If I repurchase the Fyrinnae Superpower it would be in the Sheen formula. Not sure now. I like EM, Alima, MAD, and BE's mineral foundations more. This is harder to blend than the EM Intensive, is even dryer, and the color range is nowhere as large.

While it does provide decent coverage with proper buffing, the feeling of this is VERY chalky. I would rebuy if it wasn't so chalky, but that's a deal breaker. I use this in Quartz, its VERY VERY lite, perfect for the palest of pales.

After having used Everyday Minerals Intensive Foundation before, I can truly say that Fyrinnae's Superpower Mineral Foundation delivers the most coverage between the two. And, Fyrinnae's matte version keeps my face looking truly matte all day long, which is something that Everyday Minerals Intensive Foundation lacks a bit in. As, Everyday Minerals Intensive Foundation doesn't leave my face really as matte as I need it to, being that I live in a super humid climate.
I purchased Fyrinnae's Superpower Mineral Foundation in Topaz. As, I am medium skintoned, just not medium-dark. With the Superpower Mineral Foundation, I can get full coverage that lasts all day. I don't even have to retouch up my foundation because the coverage runs that good. When, I know that I am going to be wearing the foundation for more than 8 hours then I just use Fyrinnae's Oil Control powder to refresh my foundation and that's all. So, overall I am definitely pleased with this product and I will continue to purchase it, as long as Fyrinnae makes it.

I love the Fyrinnae name. I love the website. I love the very idea. I did not love this foundation: the color was perfect for my PPP, natural redhead skin, but it itched like the devil. Also, it didn't stay put for more than four hours. Beautiful pigments, though. I think if you don't have really allergy-prone skin, this stuff is great.

I waited until I had full sizes of the foundation to really judge. I had ordered samples in September when we were having a really miserable heat wave. . .and I liked them a lot. I hurried up and ordered full sizes. This is by far the best MMU I've tried. Combined with the rice powder primer, this doesn't creep into fine lines at all. The color doesn't oxidize. It covers without being too heavy and I don't feel like a greaseball at the end of the day. I have both the Moonstone and Pyrite in the Superpower Sheen. It varies from day to day which I think is the better match for my pale skin. I haven't loved a product so much since my Studio Fix days (sadly, I can't wear SF anymore as my skin doesn't like it so much now that I'm in my 30's) EDIT: When I got further down in my jar, I found that the product itself wasn't evenly mixed. I'd get random red streaks on my cheeks (I thought at first I was bleeding!) in both colors I ordered. I still stand by what I wrote earlier, but haven't reordered for the bad mix. :(

I bought two samples of Fyrinnae Superpower Mineral Foundation in the shades 1) Citrine 2) Pearl both in matte finishes.
Why did I choose Fyrinnae from all the other brands out there including infamous online mineral foundation companies? Fyrinnae is the only brand that gives me a better idea of what I'm buying instead of the typical shade listings of Light, Medium, Dark. That just never works for me and makes me always end up with something too light, too dark, too pink, too orange, too yellow, the list goes on. Fyrinnae offers clearer descriptions of undertones stating whether its pink, yellow, neutral and states in the descriptions a comparison of another shade they have. With this said, a few $1.50 samples won't hurt.
I'm a NC15-20, Asian, pale with yellow or netural undertones depending on the weather and time of the year. I typically use liquid foundations for better coverage but it really stresses my skin.
I've had a lot of skin problems lately. Heat doesn't help with liquid foundations, it's too heavy but most mineral foundations are too light or wrong in color for decent coverage.. or it just disappears on me within a few hours. I wanted something to give me a flawless look and really blend into my jawline.
I bought Pearl and Citrine Superpower Mineral Foundation in matte finishes. I have a natural glow so the "sheen" finish option wouldn't work for me. The matte is matte, but sheer enough to let my natural glow come through. This stuff covers really well. Minor (blemish) scars and uneven tones are covered instantly and I barely have to use concealer anymore. It also lives up to being superpowered. I do a lot of night events and don't have time to touch up my face or often am running around with errands where I can't stop to see if I need to touch up. This stays on for hours, just as it was applied. I suggest using a primer or moisturizing beforehand just so the foundation can adhere better but it's a few velvet-like powder and isn't drying. It doesn't accentuate flakey skin or lines. A finishing powder also sets it well. My blot powder (MAC) makes it last for the whole day even in 90 degree weather.
I'm a mix between the two shades I ordered since it's summer I have more colour in my complexion. Pearl is more ideal for me (especially in the winter) and Citrine has that yellow I need but can be "too" yellow for my complexion so I mix both. Fyrinnae does custom mixes if you order full size which is what I plan to do really soon! A little goes a long way with these and covers a lot even with so little used. The 2 samples I have last over 10 uses. Also, I'd like to point out these adhere to the skin really well that when I apply, I barely see a mess on my clothes :)
