AMAZING! It stayed on all day, was silky smooth and came out a lovely reddy-coral on me (nw25, freckles, red hair, blue eyes)
adore it.
I used it over redd l/l and it was the perfect shade. not too BAM red but not too pink. love it.

On my pigmented lips, Tango is a beautiful coral shade. I will buy more since it is LE. I love the texture too. HG lipstick.

As soon as I saw people complaining "Too orange!" in their MUA reviews, I knew Tango was the lipstick for me. I have dark red hair and blue eyes, and need orange in my lipstick to warm things up. Tango is everything I'd hope and better than many mattes I've tried. It goes on surprisingly silky, stays well, and doesn't turn too pink on me. I'd describe it as a hot, gentle, orange-pink. But it's not thick and opaque-looking (like So Chaud, which I also love). I may have to buy a backup of this because it's already becoming my everyday winter lipstick. I wear it with warm beige eyeshadow and my face looks "done."

I'm surprised to read this described as "traffic light" -- maybe I'm just used to bright shades by now. On me (auburn-haired, freckled, very warm-toned NW15/NW20) this is a very soft, rosy, corally red, a perfect daytime red. It's very simple and flattering. The texture's nice, too -- a bit sheer and not too dry.

Since I am mad for the finish of the Mattene l/s and for matte l/s in general (Taupe l/s from the old matte line being one of my favs of all time), I had a back2MAC and wanted another one. I got Cafe Matte a few wks ago and love it.I tried Tango on its own and looked like a fire engine, like a traffic light. So I applied Chestnut l/l which is obviously brown all over my lips and then applied Tango over that and it is just perfect - a sophisticated red! I'm writing this review just to pass on that bit of info - if you think that this is too bright, try using it as above. I'm only giving this a 4 because I can't wear it on its own (well...maybe with a black shirt during the winter tho I doubt it).
Update: So far as using l/l before applying Tango, it works equally well with Spice l/l. However, this stuff wears off badly. I looked like an 80 year old homeless bag lady tho I doubt that the latter wear l/s tho this was the association that came to mind. It gathers in the crinkles of the lips and looks cakey if you don't reapply. I'm still staying with 4 l/s tho because imo it's so pretty.

i love the mattene line!! the texture, staying power, and intensity of color is perfect!! i chose tango over orange dare because it is more wearable for me. while it is still bright, its great to match with fall browns/greens.
i wear this with a plain eye, just eyeliner usually. it is so easy to do in the morning. i've also paired this with a green eye and it is such a great fall look, i can't stop admiring my makeup when i walk past anything reflective (so vain, i know).
i am considering buying back-ups of all my mattenes. i currently own four, and love all of them equally. they are so addictive! i can only pray to the makeup gods to make this mattene collection permenant.

I am so sad because I wanted to like this...it looked so beautiful on other people...then I tried it on and felt like I was ready for the circus...whoa, sooooo orangey and awful on me...thank goodness some of the other Mattene shades work on me...Had to swap this one away. I think if you have any difficulty with orange shades, this probably won't work on you. It's best to try this one on before buying...if only I hadn't bought it online...Seriously, this looks like a very bright and gaudy stage color, and the orange clashes with my strong yellow undertones...yuck...how come it looks so beautiful on the MAC model?

On me this shade looked like a matte bright orange red with a hint of brown. This is more of what I thought Orange Dare would look like. It's a little too bright for my liking. I have to say this has great staying power!! After eating and drinking it was still there- didn't budge. Had a dry feel- almost seemed more like a lip stain. I might repurchase in another shade (40's Pink, Poise) that is more suitable for my skintone.

Tango is a beautiful bright coral in the tube, but when it goes on my lips the colour sort of looks more toned down... perfect for me since I'm not a red lips person. It is very similar to Orange Dare on my lips, but just a tad bit more pink and a little less bright. There is a tiny bit of sheen and the texture is absolutely divine. It is not drying, but I find that putting a bit of lip conditioner on my lips before this lipstick helps with a more even and smooth application.

PIC BELOW I am NW20 with warm freckles, dark hair and eyes.as with Poise, I can soooo see myself buying backups of this color. This too is the type of shade I have been searching for for years. Tango is the PERFECT oranged red or reddish orange, depending on your point of view. This is such a wearable everyday red, and a wonderfully juicy one on top of that. The texture is awesome. Semi-matte and non-drying. Another big plus... (at least in my book)... the shade basically goes on the color you see in the tube. my verdict for yet another lippy from this collection: yes yes yes yes YES! the pics were taken in cool daylight. In yellow light the shades looks a bit warmer, and darker indoors
