Such an underrated shadow...looks great on my green eyes and works with any outfit I wear, a soft misty pink with an extremely soft/blendable formula. Can be used as a sheer wash or built up for more intensity.

For the life of me, I don't understand why the Matte2 line was discontinued! Pen n' Pink is a pink white matte color. Since it's a matte2 color, it goes on smooth and silky. I usually use it to highlight my brow bone.

Funnily enough, this is the shadow I find myself wearing most often. It's a very neutral, pale light pink with no shimmer or glitter. It is very matte and applies very smoothly and evenly. I like pairing it up with a brown colour in the crease, especially espresso. I'm medium skinned (NC35) and it does show up on me, I don't have to layer too much. I have also worn this when I've tanned on holiday (I get to about an NC40-42) and it shows up then too. Nothing special but certainly a staple for me.

I picked up this shade at a CCO in Tennessee while on vacation. It is now discontinued. This matte shadow applies evenly and is easy to blend, which is to be expected of MAC's matte shadows. The shade in the pan looks like a pale pink, similar to cotton candy or strawberry yogurt. The most interesting thing is how it warms up within a few moments- it actually turns to a coral color. I wear this often with Copperplate.

At first i didn't like the shadow because i layered and packed on like crazy for some color to show up, and then in minutes it turned bright warm pink on me which is a good thing but weird. It's a pale cool pink on the pot, but on my eyes it's pale warm coralish pink like sushi flower shadow but pinker. I really like how the color turn out to be and i was looking for that shade for ages!! I also used primer before putting on the shadow. It applied on smoothly with no glitter which i prefer. I like matte shadows because it looks clean and fresh on eyelids. This color will brighten your eyes and complexion. For references i am a NC25 - NC30, BE light, light to medium yellow or golden undertones. =)

Great neutral pink, if that makes sense. With primer, a definite pink color payoff. Without, more of a creamy ivory color payoff.

This is a very pretty misty rose pink. The pigmentation is very good and appears vibrant on my lids. The texture is really nice also, goes on smoothly and easy to blend. Makes my green eyes pop nicely too.

A beautiful matte pastel pink. The texture is amazing and I have no problem blending it on my lids. The colour really makes my green eyes stand out - I usually use pen n pink on my lid with espresso on my crease and a highlight on my brow bone...it just gives the perfect look! You can build up the pink colour depending on how much you want it to stand out -- it's not a garish pink by all means, just a soft light pastel pink. No shimmer or glittery bits either which is a huge plus. I would definately repurchase!

I bought this because I was looking for the Neutral Pink from the N Collection, and MA told me they are out and will not get anymore as it's LE. Being new to MAC, I thought it would be around a little longer, and I missed out! :( Maybe I can still find it, but I decided to get the Pen N Pink. It's a pretty light pink shade, matte, not obviously pink on the eye, not as much of a nude pink as the neutral pink, but not too much brighter. Looks very natural, blends nicely. The matte2 shades have a wonderful texture. I'm wearing it on my lid blended with Tete a Tint in the crease and some jest on the browbone as highlighter - it looks very nice and natural, great for everyday. Pretty, light and natural shade.

I got this as a refill and it is terrible. Looks like it would be a lovely pastel matte pink, but even with heavy layering you can't tell I'm even wearing eyeshadow. A read dud.

I decided I needed another color to go with the Copperplate I bought yesterday, one that was not so...shimmery and glittery. I bought this with the Poison Pen to use with the Copperplate. All I can say is WOW! I absolutely love this color, and how smooth it appears on. The colors make my golden brown eyes pop, and it is so pretty with the other colors. A def. repurchase!!!

My husband and I've been depotting shadows for someone else, and Pen 'n' Pink is the only one out of the 72 shadows that had any problems at all. Pen 'n' Pink is a matte from the MatteČ collection and has, not surprisingly, a MatteČ finish. It's a matte finish with a creamy, velvet-y feel. In the pan, it looks like a very light pink, but on the darker side of light pink. Applied to my un-primered eyes with a spongetip applicator, it looks... pretty much like any bone-colored matte eyeshadow. When swiped with a brush, excess powder (in my opinion) flies off the pan while the brush is being swiped. Applied to the back of my hand with a brush, I can see some light pink, but it's not incredibly pigmented. I can see how this doesn't show up as a pink, just a matte whitish color, on my deep-set eyes.

Since 71 other eyeshadows had no problem with the depotting method we use (heat gun), I have to conclude that either something is wrong with this eyeshadow shade, or something is wrong with this particular eyeshadow that my friend purchased. Parts of the shadow just broke off on two sides, and when we tried to press them down, the shadow just flaked more. Be particularly careful if you're depotting Pen 'N' Pink. Given the trouble we had depotting this one, I would suggest saving the receipt if you do buy it. Just in case you get a bad one, as my friend may have. If you see crumbling and flaking, don't hesitate in taking it back! We had no problems with Fig. 1, Clarity, or Newly Minted, or even any other MatteČ or Matte finish eyeshadow that we depotted.

The MA used this on my lid to show off some brown crease shadows I was looking at. When I saw it in the pan, I thought he was continuing to ignore my hints about not liking bright colors. But I was too tired to keep fighting. I think my protests came off as like a challenge to him. He really wanted to make something 'pop,' maybe the throbbing vein in my forehead. " I am pretty conservative", "I am not adventurous", "my taste is fairly neutral", "that is too bright", "that looks nice but I will not wear it once I'm home", "I don't think I can pull that off", "Back away and PUT THE PAINT POT DOWN!!!!" Midwestern overly-deferential politeness is always radicallly misinterpreted in New York, but I just can't tell people 'no, thank you.' directly. I read once about a tradition in some culture where you are supposed to leave food on your plate, as a sign that your host has been so generous that you can't eat any more. And if you clean your plate, they'll just keep taking it as a sign that you want another helping. That's what this is like. If you're not insanely bitchy and opinionated to people in the service industry in New York, you're probably a patsy or a pushover. It's my fault, I just keep asking for it. But I was always taught to clean my plate.

THE CHASE: Anyway so this shadow looks great. Came off on me as a warm wash [when used without an opaque primer]. Not chalky dinner mint pink like I thought it would be. Covers all the purple shadows and little veins in my lids, blends well with my yellow-undertoned fair skin and evens it out. Very lovely with green eyes. So it's a happy ending. Evidently he was listening after all and we came to a cross-cultural understanding :) In fact, he's like the Wuss Whisperer. Touche, MAC. As always you are a worthy opponent.

Pen 'N' Pink is a beautiful, matte, pastel pink eyeshadow from the new, MatteČ Collection. Pairs up beautifully when worn on the lids with Copperplate in the crease. I am thoroughly impressed with the texture and wearability of these new, MatteČ eyeshadows! They are beautifully pigmented, blend like a dream, apply as smooth as silk, and last all day on me without creasing! What more can a gal in her 40's ask for? PLUS- there is NO shimmer or glitter- a middle-aged woman's dream! ♥ These are about to become my latest, greatest, favorite beauty find of all time! I already know that if I were stranded on a deserted island... these are the only eyeshadows I would want with me. :o)
