I wish I had good things to say about this product. After researching more on TTO and natural remedies to fix my acne, I decided to run over to Trader Joe's and buy their TTO and this soap. I'm reviewing on the liquid soap (although I have the bar soap and I want to try that out) and I can honestly say that it's causing me to break out more. I've actually never broken out this bad in a very long time. I usually break out during my period but this is the worst break out I have gotten by far. I have pimples where I've never gotten pimples before. Using this cleanser makes your face feel rubbery clean afterward. Literally, rubbery. It doesn't necessarily feel clean, it just feels like you rubbed something on your face and rinsed it off. The packaging is atrocious because like other reviewers have said, the oil gets stuck in the pump and it builds up before you have to clean it out. Even without the oil stuck in the pump, the pumps squirts the product everywhere when you use it so you have to get used to it. I'm not even close to being done with the bottle, but I'm going to continue to keep using it. I'll see if it's just my skin being funky or if it's really this product. I'll keep updating later on.

UPDATE: I continued using this product and I have six large pimples now where I usually never get pimples. This is far more pimples than I usually ever get and these are bigger than the ones that I've ever gotten. Considering this is the only thing I added to my routine, I'm going to go ahead and assume this is what's causing me to break out and stop using this product. I'm sure, however, this product will work out great for other people. I think it's the Castille Soap in it which causes me to break out. I'm going to use this from now on to just wash my makeup brushes.

I have been including this in my acne clearing regimen for a few months now and it does a fine job at removing acne causing bacteria on my face, and I like that it is all natural. I used to just use tea tree oil extract as a spot treatment and really wanted a cleanser with that instead of salicylic acid used tea tree oil as a blemish fighting ingredient. This alone will obviously not get rid of acne on it's own but I use this first after removing makeup and also when I first wake up, following it with toner, eye cream, moisturizer where needed and either tea tree oil extract or benzoyl peroxide cream where I have a zit (the latter if it's a really clogged pore). Love this product, I like that it does what it is intended to do, it's fairly inexpensive, you get a good amount of product for less than $6 and it is not tested on animals (cruelty free counts for me) highly recommended for combination/oily skin like mine and I will most likely repurchase

I am revewing for the bar soap. I am using this to replace my previous Neutragina face wash to remove regular but light acne. I am not quite sure what this soap does to remove the acne--it seems to clear it for a couple of days and then it will come out again even if I keep using the bar. and I also noticed some little bumps on my skin that I don't usually see before. I will try something else after I am done with these two bars.

I have been suffering from acne as a teen until recently. Thanks to the liquid tea tree soap, I am the clearest I've ever been. I still get a pimple here and there, but it's definitely the best cleanser I've ever tried for my acne prone skin. Tea tree seems to be very agreeable for me.

My review is for the bar soap. I bought it after running out of my Eve Lom cleanser, which has been part of my regimen that's kept my skin pretty much problem-free for a long time. I decided to give the soap a try while waiting for my EL order to arrive in the mail. I wish I had ordered the EL earlier because just a few days after using the soap my skin reacted negatively to it. I got little bumps on my forehead, which used to be a problem for me but was kept at bay ever since I found a regimen that worked for me. My skin became drier and irritated. The problem got better when I stopped using the soap but I am still waiting for it to return to normal.

This review is for the liquid soap in the pump bottle. I've used pure tea tree for years with pretty good results, and have heard only good things about this soap, so I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it's too drying for me. I think it's the castille that just doesn't jive with my skin. Even though I'm careful to avoid my eye area and sensitive neck/collarbone/chest area, when I use this, the skin on those areas gets rashy and scabby! It hurts. Just can't do it.
That being said, it works great for my friend, so maybe I just have ultra sensitive skin.
Now I use this as a makeup brush cleaner and it's fine for that, but way too harsh for my face.

I have been using this cleanser for about a week now and I absolutely love it. I have pretty acne prone skin, but this along with my skinsonic (clarisonic dupe) has kept my face pretty much clear. Except maybe for a tiny pimple on my nose, but that's because my skin was aggravated by my glasses. This is a pretty good feat, especially since my sleeping hours are rather erratic, so I expected to totally break out. But I'm so glad I haven't and I owe all my thanks to this product.

It does, however, have its drawbacks. For one, the pump is very difficult to control. The first time I tried it, the product flew all over my sink. But you simply just have to get the hang of it. Another drawback is the smell. When I first tried it, I was so turned off by the smell. But I kept using it because of the reviews here in MUA. It doesn't really foam a lot. And it really stings around the eyes.

It's not the most comfortable to use, but I've been really looking for a cleanser to really help with my acne prone skin. I've gone through Neutrogena, Pond's, Clean and Clear, Garnier, but I believe this is it. I'll keep trying it for a month, before I proclaim it as my HG cleanser.

Update: I've been using it for 3 months now, and holy bejeezus--I no longer have to wear foundation so often. However, I have to keep to the regimen of using it with my skinsonic or else it's not as effective.

I'm making my boyfriend try it out because he has a bad case of acne--and I'm starting to see a lot of improvement but I think I have to get him something to help him exfoliate.

This is also a review for the bar soap, it comes with 2 for about 2$. I love this stuff! Trader Joe's is like 40 minutes from my house, so when i went i bought 2 packs of these. It's been months and i'm still on my first bar. I know some people don't like the smell of this, but i actually love it. Anyways, i bought it in hopes of getting rid of acne and acne scarring. My acne has finally died down (thanks to reviews on here i realized a lot of harsh cleansers were making my skin worse), but now i'm left with this horrible scarring. It's been 3 months and my acne scars are almost all gone! It also keeps my acne at bay, and keeps new scars from forming. I will continue to use this, i love it so much!

I have been using the bar soap for about a week now and can see a huge improvement in my skin. I use Retin A for my acne (I have had acne for the past 4 years straight) and it is hard to find a cleanser that actually does something for my skin, but is still gentle. This soap is so gentle it seems like it is actually healing my skin and getting rid of my acne. Plus, you can't beat the price. I work at a beauty store and have used everything out there. I can't believe how well this works!

EDIT: Ok, why am I not getting the wonderful results that everybody else is? I think this is making my skin worse. I'm only using it for bacne, not my face, but my skin feels irriated, really bumpy and I'm breaking out all over my chest. :( Very bummed.

Is everybody reviewing the bars or the liquid?

I haven't written a review before but this soap is amazing!!! Thank goodness I came across the other reviews on here or I never would have thought to look at TJ's. First of all, the price cannot be beat! You get 2 huge bars for $3, seriously, I cut them in half and almost a year later am still on the 2nd half of the first bar, unbelievable. It has really cleared up my skin, I have suffered with acne since high school and hoped I would have grown out of it by now but was still getting the cluster acne on my chin. This has really cleared everything up and when I do get an occasional breakout, it doesn't last nearly as long. I use the soap in combination with the mint julep mask (another MA find and bargain) as a spot treatment and its gone within 2 days. So much better than benzoyl peroxide that would bleach out all my washcloths, towels and clothes sometimes. Try it, give it some time, I really dont think you will be disappointed...HG for me no question!

From my name you can imagine, yes I am a very skeptical shopper. There are so few products that I can actually say I LOVE. Hopefully I don't jinx anything, but this face wash is amazing. It is inexpensive, smells good, lathers well, is natural, and it works. I have struggled w/ acne for yeeeaars and have tried a ton of products. I was using Panoxyl, which I do still like a lot, but I wanted something less harsh. I saw the good reviews and decided to try it. I have been using it for about a month now, and have not had any problems. It makes your skin really healthy, soft and clean. Yes, it does burn your eyes so beware. I also bought the Trader Joe's jojoba oil and have been using that to remove my eye make up, as well as spot moisturize when I need it. I love them both. I am really happy I found a product that is not only cheap and natural, but works well. My skin is combination dry, oily, acne, all that good stuff. I like that this cleans well and dries your skin a bit, but since it is made with coconut oil and other natural oils, it doesn't strip your skin. Highly recommend! :)

This... this might be the one. I know I keep saying these things. Maybe I'm too wishful. But this facewash... is the NADS. Why? Here's why. Be prepared to get real mad and wish you had a Trader Joe's near you, if you don't.
1. The size of the bottle for the price: You get a good amount of product for between $5-6. Like nearly everything in the Trader Joe's beauty section, it's a steal.
2. It's au-naturale: Well, to my knowledge, at least 90% or so. Can't beat that. You know you're not putting yucky chemicals on your skin, which is a good feeling.
3. It NEVER DRIES SKIN OUT: This is probably my favorite feature. My skin is oily and acne-prone, so lord knows I don't need any extra oil production from a facewash that's sucked all the life out of my skin. Trader Joe's facewash does NOT do that. You'll still want to apply moisturizer afterwards, since most facewashes dry your skin in some way or another anyway, but this one keeps that whole Sahara Desert thing at bay.
4. It helps with acne without a drop of medicine in its composition: No salicylic. No benzoyl peroxide. No nonsense. Just some tea tree oil to wash away bacteria, and the rest just cleanses and soothes.
5. Keeps skin happy looking and feeling: Every time I've used this, my skin looks and feels fresh, bright, supple, and just plain happy. No dryness. No tightness. No redness. Just thoroughly clean, healthy-looking skin.
Umad yet? Hehe.
I'd say the only problem I have with this product is the pump. If I'm not initially gentle when trying to dispense the product, it can jettison from the pump and go in some random direction. But that's it. That's my only gripe with this stuff. It's STAYING in my routine. I look forward to using my BFF facewash every time.

This soap is ah-mazing! I love tea tree oil, some ppl hate the smell. Personally, I like it. I have persistent acne, and this soap helped clear me up.

This soap removes my heavy foundation and smoky eye makeup pretty well, but I still have to use makeup remover wipes afterward to remove all traces of it. I would say it removes 90% of my makeup.

The soap comes in a plastic wrap with two bars. My boyfriend and I buy this soap in bulk because it's only $2. We love Trader Joe's products.

After washing my face with this soap my skin does feel a little tight, like it's been stripped of all the natural oils. This is not a problem for me, because my daily/nightly routine includes moisturizer. My dad has oily skin and he says it helps reduce the oil.

I also use it to wash my hands because a lot of hand soaps trigger the eczema on my hands. This soap does not.

I will keep buying it in bulk!

I love this soap! I buy the 2 bars in a pack for around $2. I use it to wash my face, and it works great. The first few days, my skin got really blotchy looking, which scared the crap outta me. But after about a week, my face started to get super clear and smooth looking. I have not had a severe breakout since using this. I've had a few minor breakouts before my period that have resolved themselves pretty quickly. I also am noticing significantly gless blackheads. I love it, have already re-bought!

EDIT: I am still using this bar to wash my face and loving it. I also started washing my makeup brushes with this... I just wet the brush, swirl it against the soap, swirl against the palm of my hand, then rinse! The only other soap that ever got ALL the makeup off my brushes was the Neutrona facial bar, and even that needed a few lathers to get all the residue. This gets all the makeup off the first time, even foundation brushes (tough to get off Revlon Colorstay) and lipstick brushes! For $2 for 2 bars, it's so worth it!

i'm reviewing the face wash in the pic... these unlisted brands have gray areas on what product is being talked about

for reference i have dry-normal skin and no blemishes (until, you know that time of the month). i was just looking for a simple cleanser and this is amazing! i use this to get my colorstay foundation off. when i first picked it up, i literally said "wow i can pronounce every ingredient on here". its all natural! it is primarily castille soap. its super effective for getting off skin makup. i love this and use it nightly. it has a liquid consistency (thin like water) but it lathers up surprisingly well. it smells fresh and clean. its been over 4 months and i'm through 1/4 of the bottle! really leaves skin radiant and soft as well.
