I got a small tube of this after my friend tried it and liked it.I did not like it at all, except for the initial application. When I first put it on, it felt smooth and really nice on my skin. After applying the rest of my makeup, I really couldn't tell a difference. And a couple of days later, it broke me out. Would not recommend, would not repurchase.

As I purchased this in the bigger tube size and have been using daily for a few months now I feel I have given this a good enough go to see if its a true winner in the world of primers...I have normal/combination skin with a prone to oily T-Zone as the day goes on, I do have visible pores on and around my nose I like to blot out. This goes on beautifully and smoothly, with a minimal amount going a long way - on me I think it works well enough for a few hours but not the whole day. It works best when my skin is in tip-top condition, which for me is when I'm keeping up with regular masks and my skin is well moisturised otherwise this product seems to make no difference really at all.I also have Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer and feel this is a better performer than the Smashbox, so if you are tossing up between the two I would go for the Hourglass. Will not be a repurchase for me.

This honestly really didn't seem to do much of anything for me and my large pores and oily skin. I will keep playing around with it, maybe adjusting the amount I use, since I already paid the large price tag!

This primer and the regular Photo Finish are both excellent. I find that I use this one the most though because it doesn't feel as heavy under my makeup. While the original primer is more gel-like, Light has a more lotion like consistency. It blends into the skin a little more instead of sitting on top of the skin. I like the way it feels once it's applied. It makes a velvety smooth canvas for my foundation.I find that this works great with any foundation. I usually prefer to use this one with my more dewy foundations and regular photo finish with my more matte ones. However, Light works great with anything. My makeup goes on smooth and even, without too much shine. Add a setting powder and your complexion is set for the day. As with all smashbox primers, this keeps my makeup in place all day long. It is a little pricey, but since it increase the longevity of your makeup, it's totally worth it. Definitely an HG product for me.

This is my favorite primer. I use it under the Estee Lauder Double Wear. It doesn't make me break out and makes the foundation go on so smoothly. It slightly controls oil, keeps me oil free for a couple hours. I like this primer way better than the original smashbox photofinish because the original is way heavier in my opinion and breaks me out.

I love how soft this makes my skin feel. I notice a difference right away when I use it . One of my favorite primers so far!

Smashbox Photofinish Light claims to: "Increase the longevity of foundation and reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores while imparting a matte finish."For reference, this is my skin type: acne-prone, slightly sensitive, prone to clogging, extremely oily all over face (especially on T-zone, chin, and sides of nose)Skin concerns: hyper-pigmentation, moderate monthly acne, dry patches due to acne medication, oily skin (*cries*)For $44 bucks I would at least expect this foundation to do half of what it claims to do!"Increase the longevity of foundation (...)"This may be the only thing it does do. I've tried my foundations with and without this primer and most of the time, they held up and looked better when paired with this primer. "reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores (...)"No, it doesn't do this for me. My pores still look the same with or without this primer."while imparting a matte finish."Nope! Maybe it's because I have very oily skin but this primer, on its own, doesn't control oil. It may increase the foundation's staying power by a little bit but other than that it doesn't have any ground-breaking qualities that would make me want to repurchase this and continue to use this on my face. One plus that I do like about this primer: It doesn't seem to break me out or irritate my skin. It goes on light and not greasy like other primers. However, for a primer that's worth almost fifty bucks, it doesn't do enough. It doesn't control oil well and it doesn't reduce pore appearance. I will continue to use this until I run out or until I find a better alternative.

Pros: Practical packaging, not smelly or irritating, didn't break me out nor clogged my pores, easy to apply, feels good on skin. Cons: Quite expensive, pretty much melts away in hot temperatures if not used with a foundation or powder, and you'll have to use a lot for it to actually work. Other: this was the first primer I ever bought. My skin is combination, and generally dull and sallow. This primer works okay for me, but I probably won't repurchase it since I hope to find something better. The product makes my makeup last a few hours longer without oil breaking through, but it doesn't perform very good on its own. It was also quite pricy.

First used this product years back when I was starting to get into make up but drifted as it was expensive for me to buy all the time. It's an amazing primer for me and I have really oily skin to the point in the summer it looks like I'm sweating all the time.. haha but I've now bought the pore one which I love even more!

I was excited to try this product because it was the first primer that I've ever purchased. I decided to buy the smaller size just in case since it's a bit pricey, and I don't typically indulge in makeup. I tested it for about a week. I started to notice that I was breaking out in my cheek areas and some on my forehead, but I thought it was because of stress. It was the beginning of my first semester at my university, and I was super busy with personal problems and school work. It took me the entire week to figure out that it was the primer that was causing my breakouts. I applied the primer to the oiliest parts of my face which were my forehead and cheeks and nowhere else.As soon as I stopped using the product, my acne cleared right up. I also noticed that in terms of oil control, it didn't do much for me. I have really oily skin, and I live in a really hot place. At that time, I was outside a lot because I had to walk everywhere on my college campus, so it was kinda the ultimate test of performance and it failed. The one thing I liked was the packaging because it gives you a lot of control when squeezing out the product.
