Big price, little bottle, and I could tell NO difference between my hair with this product on it and without.

Not only that, but it's hard to get the last bits out of the bottle. The packaging is cute, don't get me wrong but...damn, come on. Give me a plain bottle and half the price and then we'd be more into an expected price range. However it's worthless to me, on my dry coarse curly thick hair.....ZERO difference between using it or not. Plus when I also tried to use it on dry hair as a before-heat balm, it made wisps of sizzling smoke all over, and my hair looked a little tortured. Not something I would recommend to anyone, save your money or swap for it first so you can see if you like it.

This didn't help protect my hair. It was as if I put on nothing. My hair was unfortunatley really dry at the ends afterwards.

Love FHI Hot Sauce! After blowdrying my (natural) hair with a comb attachment, I make small sections and use a small amount of Hot Sauce, let it dry for 60 sections, then make every smaller sections to flat irony. It definitely makes my scraggly ends look good in lieu of a trim.

The only annoying part is the fact that you have to let it dry before applying heat. I have a lot of thick/coarse hair and I hate waiting section by section.

This worked pretty okay for me. I liked the bottle a lot! It had jojoba beads in it that would break up and disperse when you rub it between your hands. It gave me a smooth finish when i finished straightening my hair. The only thing I hate is that the little jojoba beads dried up after only a month and they wouldn't disperse!

I bought this a while ago and didn't like it. I was going to throw it in the trash and I decided to give it one more try. I have VERY thick hair that I blow straight and it tends to get dry. I think I wasn't using enough of thi product. My hair soaked it up and as I was drying it the little crystals really went to work. Because I have to use quite a bit, I think it is a little expensive for such a small bottle. I will probably only get 7 or 8 uses out of the bottle. Be sure to use enough if you are using this. I followed up with DHC After Bath Hair Treatment Oil and got very nice results without too much grease!!

Love this product! It protects my hair and makes it very shiny and soft without weighing it down. I have very thin and oily hair so I was concerned about it making it more oily, but it didn't. I used the teeniest amount and I noticed a HUGE difference in my hair!

I have a lot of long, fine, wavy hair that can be coaxed to curl. I don't really like this product at all. I don't feel like it's heavy enough to protect my ends from heat styling - and I'm most concerned about that since my ends are drier naturally having long hair. It's an okay cream product, but I feel like the price is exorbitant and the packaging is horrible. My bottle somehow got air in it so when I opened it, all this product spilled out and was a mess to try and get back into the container. At this point I struggle to get anything out at all, and the bottle is practically full! I don't like the little grainy bits, I can't imagine what benefit they might have on my hair. If you had blonde hair how would you explain your black dandruff? I like that jojoba oil is one of the first ingredients, but I don't really get anything significant out of this product that chi, biosilk, garnier, marc anthony, or redken haven't done better for me already.

I got mine from http://purePhoria.com and I love it. I really give me a good protection while I use my flat iron. Since it is a natural treatment, it actually makes my hair healthier and silkier after using it. :)

I was forewarned by previous reviewers that the bottle would be miniscule, so I didn't freak when I saw what came out of the package from Folica.com. It really does resemble both in package design and size a bottle of Tobasco. I bought 2 oz for $14. Despite the small size, it has lasted me for some time, and I need to use more than a dime size amount for my thick hair.

It has a creamy consistency with tiny black dots. After you rub the product in your hands/in your hair, the dots disperse. It's not as slick as a serum, but it has more weight than a spray. I didn't find it very moisturizing.

It did an ok job on making my hair smooth after a blowdry and flat ironing. It didn't feel like silk, but I was pleased with the result. It DID do a good job on keeping my ends from feeling fried. I tend to have better results with Nexxus's Heat Protexx in terms of getting a silky feel. I tend to combine the two to get the best of both products.

This is probably a first for me. Normally i like to give products a couple of days, even weeks, before i write a review. But i am so excited about this that I'm writing it now even though i just got it today.

LOVE: My hair feels soft, soft soft!!!! and oh so smooth, even my husband commented on how soft and smooth my hair was. After showering, i just towel dried my hair a little, put a dollop of hot sauce, brushed my hair and let it air dry a little, when i finally blow dried my hair after about hmmm 30mins, i found that it actually made drying my hair faster (it usually takes me forever!). and the end result? silky smooth no frizz hair. i like that there is no strong smell to this. it doesnt look or feel greasy at all. i cant wait to use my flat iron tomorrow!

Hate: the price is a little steep for a 2oz bottle... but it seems like a little goes a long way with this, so im hoping my bottle will last for a while :)

If super-buttery-soft hair is what you crave, FHI's hot sauce is the answer.

How I use it: After shampooing and conditioning and rinsing out completely, I leave a towel on my hair for a good 20 minutes. After it's a just little damp, I section off my hair and distribute the cream evenly. I have a lot of hair, so I think I use about a half-dollar size in total.

I let it air dry completely either just overnight or during the day and then flat iron with my GHD.
I suppose you could blow dry it before you Iron it, but I honestly don't like to use two heat appliances back-to-back like that.

Anyway, my hair felt extra silky after flat-ironing it. It was also remarkably shiny.

What I DON'T like about this product are the packaging and price. Don't get me wrong, the packaging is adorable, but I find that the cream can be a little hard to get out of it sometimes. Additionally, you're getting a REALLY small amount of product for the price.
I've gotten mine on ebay and beautychoice.com.

I'll keep buying until I find something better and cheaper.

I read alot of great things about this & when I got it I was so hyped to try it. What a big disappointment. It did nothing but coat my hair & when I used my flat iron it did that dreaded sizzle. I ended up giving it away.

I'm not sure I get the hype. I dont find this to do anything special to my hair no matter how much or little I use.

I have thermally reconditioned hair so that may have something to do with it and I do wonder what this stuff would have done for my "old" hair but for the price I don't see the value.

Luckily it was given to me (3 bottles actually) as a gift so I didn't have to pay for it!

OMG..this is the most amazing product I have ever used! I use this as a final treatment product. My hair dries faster and styling is a breeze(I have very thick, coarse, frizzy hair). I also use a tiny bit after my hair has dried and then use my flat iron. It makes my hair very smooth and silky.

UNBELIEVABLE STUFF!!!

If you could only see my hair. If you could feel it. If you had seen my hair without Hot Sauce.

Okay, the low-down: I have very curly long hair (think ethnic, curly, dry, coarse, past shoulders, but not uberlong). My thyroid disease makes it like STRAW in places, nasty and frizzy and rough.

I've used some good products to try and give me silky control--Pantene anti-frizz is okay. BioSilk is lovely. And I thought I'd use BioSilk forever--love the scent, love the result.

Then I bought a flat-iron (12/07) from FHI and I bought Hot Sauce to go with it. I used it and though, "Oh, huge waste of money." It just didn't do what BioSilk did.

Then I decided to do something: Use twice as much as I had used. (The directions say use a small amount, so I used about the size of a nickel in my palm, which is what I'd use of BioSilk.) I used about a quarter's size or so. I was afraid it'd weigh my hair down and make it look oily or dirty.

TOTALLY DIFFERENT UNIVERSE.

I simply had not used the right amount for my very dry, very curly, very crazy hair. With a larger amount, I didn't even NEED the flatiron. No kidding. No styling lotion (I used to use Paul Mitchell). No hair spray. I just use the Hot Sauce, my 3 inch ceramic-ionic styling brush, and my ionic blow-dryer (not even a high-end model, a cheapie import). And my hair is silk. Pure silk. It's straight, except for a nice wave at the bottom part where there is some layering. It's smooth. It moves. It shines. I can't stop touching it.

And my hairstyle lasted five days without frizzing or recurling. I just added a bit of BioSilk to my hair to add some smoothness and that lovely scent a couple days in. A retouching.

I expect that come the humid months in Miami (it's winter now), that I'll need something for more control against the damages of summer moisture to curly hair, but for now, I can say this stuff rocks like nobody's business.

My hair is BEEEEEEEEEEEEEYOTIFUL. And my husband loves how it feels. And I love how fast I can dry it without all the steps and styling products and flatironing it to get "silky".

You may need to experiment with how much. Start with less, work up to more. You want to find the balance between too little (which does nothing) and excess (which will weigh down hair too much). I opt for a little too much and live with a tad bit of flatness (compared to my oomph before on top) just to get that lovely result.

Big, big, thumbs up to FHI Hot Sauce. Worth the price tag. (And I agree with other reviewer. Get the bigger bottle. Make sure you shake it to get the sauce near the top so when you press it comes out right off).

I lucked out that when I ordered it I got two of the smaller bottles (an extra ounce free). They must have run out of the bigger bottle.

Good luck with this. I hope it helps you like it did me. LOVE IT!

I might try this again if they'd get rid of the silicone. I tried using this on my bangs, which are more beat up than the rest of my hair. I didn't see any difference. I also don't like the bottle because a ton more than I want always comes out. I really wanted to like this product. I still have to finish off the bottle, so I may update if I start to see some improvement.

I just bought this stuff from Folcia.com with a HAI 2.25" flat iron and wow is all I can say so far. I have a lot of fine wavy hair and this product delivers what it says without weighing my hair down. Definately recommend, but buy the 5oz for $28, rather than the 2oz size for $14. Better value more Hot Sauce.

From Folica.com: If love your hair, you should protect it from the potential drying and damage from flat irons, hair straighteners and other heat styling appliances with FHI Heat Hot Sauce thermal protectant. Most finishing hair products are silicone-based, which means they simply coat the outside of the hair to leave it feeling smoother. This is a temporary effect and will allow unwanted product residue to build up on the hair. FHI Heat Hot Sauce is moisture-based - when used in conjunction with FHI Heat irons it will actually penetrate into the core of the hair to reconstruct and deeply condition the hair from the inside out!. FHI Heat Hot Sauce has heat-activated jojoba crystals that dissolve and deeply penetrate into the hair, thus dramatically improving the quality, condition and texture of the hair. This is not a temporary effect - with regular use of FHI Heat Hot Sauce, dry hair will be moisturized and damaged hair will be restored!

Product Benefits:

* Moisture based thermal protection
* Heat-activated Jojoba crystals repair, moisturize, and condition
* Moisturizes dry, damaged hair

Directions:

On clean, towel dry hair, apply a small amount of FHI Heat Hot Sauce along the length and ends. Iron your hair as usual. With regular use dry, damaged hair will be restored.

FHI Styling tips:

1. Begin by taking a small section of hair and running a comb through it to separate the strands
2. Place combed section of hair between the ceramic plates of your iron starting as close to the scalp as possible
3. Close the iron with a light grip
4. Pull the iron away from the scalp and let the hair glide through the plates. You should not feel the iron gripping or pulling your hair
5. Repeat this process throughout the rest of your hair

Ingredients:

Water, cetearyl alcohol, amodimethicone, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Stearalkonium Chloride, Dimethicone, Incroquat Behenyl, TMS, Shea Butter, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Cetrimonium Chloride, Silk Amino Acids, Algae Extract, Tetrasodium EDTA, Rosemary Extract, Witch Hazel Extract, Hydrozypropyl Guar, Jojoba Esters, DM Dm Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Contains Crystalized Jojoba.
