I love this 24 hr mascara. I typically avoid using waterproof type of mascara because of the clumping issues, etc. and I was hesitant in getting this at first. But I am very glad that I was very brave to do so. This mascara does not clump and smudge. My lashes look great! I have at times unconsciously rubbed my eyes sometime during the day, and there goes my mascara & I end up with raccoon eyes. But not with this mascara! I'm very surprised of how well it looks after a long day at work (and I work very late). Now I use it everyday. I wish that I came in brown and in other colors. Maybe they may in the future because I will definitely get one.

I love this mascara. It lasts all day on me, doesn't smear or flake and I always tell someone looking for a new mascara to try this one.

This is the first mascara that I have ever liked enough to comment about! Because my skin tends to be oily, I generally look racoon-ish by the end of the day, but after a curl, the Prescriptives mascara goes on nicely (the brush separates lashes and coats well), makes my lashes thicker, and lasts all day without flaking or smearing. This is a water-proof mascara that will require a special eye-makeup remover - currently I use Bare Escentuals, but it stings--planning to try Lancome Bi-facil.

I really like to use waterproof mascara but had trouble finding one I liked. Finally, I found a good, reliable waterproof mascara that doesn't flake or smear. The brush is cool too--makes the mascara easy to apply. I use it alone or over non-waterproof mascara to make it waterproof.

I really enjoy using this mascara. It has one of the newer plastic brushes so the applications is really foolproof. It goes on with minimum clumps. I usually have problems with mascaras smudging and flaking into my eyes by the end of the day. However, even in the heat and high humidity, this mascara stands up to the challenge. I wear the black shade and don't have to worry about this stuff going anywhere until I decide to remove it. Now, I will say that this is the first mascara I've ever had to use an eye makeup remover with. They should sell it in a set because that's the only way this stuff is coming off. Be gentle when removing it so your lashes don't come off with it (just kidding, kinda). My lashes look fuller and longer. However, the effect is not as dramatic as DiorShow. The look is believable.

Overall, I will be purchasing this again because while its not perfect, it does deliver on its promise without irritating my eyes and making me look like a raccoon.

I got a sample of this mascara for free. I don't know that I would have tried it otherwise.
I have been searching for my HG mascara for some time. (See all posts and reviews!) This is the first of the ones I've tried that has not ended up under my eyes by afternoon!
So I'm happier with this mascara than any of the others. Can't say it is a HG, but better than the Covergirl, Rimmel, MaryKay, LOreal ones I've tried. Maybe it is better because is department store? No clue, but I think I'll be purchasing again. It requires a makeup remover to remove rather than just usual cleanser, but that is consistent with other WP mascara I've used, so this didn't bother me.

This mascara makes my lashes feel dry and it flakes a lot. Usually WP mascaras hold a curl well but this one actually makes my lashes droop a little. It is nice and adds some length volume, but the bad qualities far outweigh the good.

Way too difficult to remove. I end up with black smudges around my eyes and the mascara still caked to my lashes. Once it's on, it stays put and I did not have any problem with it flaking.

Yuck. I've used $5 mascaras that are much superior than this. So it's smudgeproof? So are a dozen better mascaras out there. It stings, clumps, drops giant black flakes on my face, and generally looks terrible. I don't know who invented the rubber- nubbed brush appearing in every mascara, but the performance is inexcusable (Lash Blast, you too!). Try CG Professional waterproof instead- it voluminizes much better, never flakes or smudges and lasts through extreme heat and moisture. Shame on Prescriptives, a usually hypoallergenic and quality company... hopefully they can come up with something better.

Much as i liked this mascara, it still left me searching. And boy have i searched.

I wanted a waterproof mascara that's not prone to flaking, and is also gentle on lashes upon removal. I also wanted relatively clump free application, with optimal separation.

Sadly, this product failed on a couple counts. While application is clump free, and it is very well waterproof, it still flaked enough to be bothersome (who want black specks all down their cheeks?).

The major failing, however, is the difficulty in removal. I often ended up pulling out lashes on removal. Or worse, i didn't scrub hard enough, and ended up with residual mascara when i'm done cleaning. I HATED that. What is worse, and actually sealed the deal on me not repurchasing, is that Prescriptives tries to sell a SPECIAL remover for this product.

I HATE tethered marketing. So i looked elsewhere, and found a little gem in Clinique's Lash Power mascara. Removal is much easier, and it seldom flakes, AND it's cheaper... Win, Win, Win!!!

Love it. It is the only mascara I've tried that really doesn't budge. Make sure you have a good makeup remover before you try it, because soap and water won't get it. I like Prescriptives Better Off remover.

The only time I've had this mascara smudge was during a midday nap when I wore an eye mask.

Will definitely repurchase.

I received this as a gift, and before trying it I came here to look at the reviews. And reading the reviews made me scared! I already have a couple mascaras, but I've been looking for a natural yet defining mascara for awhile now. Anyway, I first wore this mascara during a final (2.5 hour difficult econ final). After finishing the final I checked in the mirror and was surprised-after reading reviews-to see that this mascara did NOT budge a bit. The next day, I wore this mascara on long flight back home. I applied the mascara at 12:30pm, and by 11pm the mascara did not, again, budge at all. I love this mascara and am so glad I received it as a gift because the price tag is $19.50! This mascara makes my lashes look naturally long and thick, and yet I still look like I'm wearing false eyelashes (my eyelashes are wimpy thin Asian ones). Definitely will buy when it runs out!!

I received this in a GWP and actually forgot about it until I was at the Prescriptives counter a few weeks later. As I listened to the SA talk this mascara up to another customer I remembered I had a tube at home to try. The very next day I applied this 24-hour supposedly unbudgeable mascara. When I checked myself in the mirror a few hours later I was shocked to see the mascara had smudged under my eyes and not just a little bit. A miracle product it is not. I'll stick with Maybelline.

I saw this new mascara and I had to try it! I'm always looking for the perfect waterproof mascara. I had been previously using CG Volume Exact/Lash Exact and MF's equivalent, in waterproof black with Clarins Mascara Fix on top. The Px mascara has the same plastic brush, but the formula is supposed to be long lasting and smudgeproof. It's waterproof all by itself and if topped off by another Px mascara, it's water resistant (this is what the container says). It cost something like $20, which is way more than I usually spend on a mascara, but I'm happy with the results. My lashes were defined, lengthened and darkened. It wilted my right eyelashes a tad bit for some reason, but not enough that I'd dump this mascara. I skipped the Clarins Mascara fix and there were no smudges or flakes at all. Overall, I'm very pleased and will definitely repurchase.

Age: 30-35   Skin: Sensitive, Fair, Cool   Hair: Red, Fine   Eyes: Green

Full name: Prescriptives Here To Stay 24 Hour Longwear.

I was punished for curiosity, infidelity, and laziness. Curiosity: shiny new product, good reviews. Laziness: skipping my waterproofing-coat step. I succumbed to temptation. After suitable flagellation, I'm back to Clinique Naturally Glossy + Clarins Fix'Mascara.

Attractive but clunky tube; handle very thick, not the easiest to hold and manoeuver. Good colour, a decent proper brown (that is, good for redhead with pale lashes). Formula seemed OK, not too thin, not too thick. Prescriptives have a good track record on my essential Double Sensitivity: products suited to sensitive skin, and cruelty-free. All seemed well.

But there's this brush. It's one of those new-fangled rubbery things, with short flexible spikes in several rows going all the way round. It's supposed to make mascara application easier and more glob-free. Even though I've been donning mascara for over 20 years, I'm willing to admit that, faced with a new technology and technique, I'm in the same boat as everyone else: newbie. I tried several ways of applying this stuff, including wiping excess from the tip or from all over, wiggling, no wiggling, slow sweep, fast, ... Disasters: clumps of stuff and lashes clumped together. The real pain is the end of the wand, which is baldish, and useless except for accumulating extra mascara. With much combing-through (using lash comb), I could achieve satisfactory results. But no better than with any other good mascara I'd used recently, and the whole process took far longer. Not counting the extra time for trying to train myself in new techniques.

Here to Stay is not a disastrous mascara (see GREAT LASH). There are good points. Once on, it does stay on all day, beautifully. No smudges under the eyes. Lashes stay nice and supple (nearly up to the standards of Maybelline Full & Soft or Clinique Naturally Glossy/Long Pretty). I did a few waterproofing tests, which it passed. I found it easy to remove - contrary to some reviews, with no loss of lashes or pulling and irritation of skin, even when removing and reapplying the mascara several times.

I should add something here on removal, as this does seems to be an issue, and I see Prescriptives are providing a special remover for this mascara; very cunning of them... but here's how to save a bit of money. Dampen a good cotton-wool pad (one of the double-sided, smooth, non-flaking ones). Soak it in a mix of mineral and olive oils. Apply to your chosen (closed) eye, keep on the eye for a minute or so, then smooth off firmly. Take pad between fingers and thumb and apply around top lashes; keep there for about a minute, then pull down gently. Repeat for lower lashes. Repeat whole process for other eye. Use a cotton-wool bud/Q-tip - wetted then dipped in the oils - to remove any residual bit of mascara from lashes, around the eye, in the corners, and inside the lid. Finally, take two more cotton-wool pads, dampen with cold water, and hold over closed eyes for a few seconds. Done.

I wondered if there was some funny technique to this application business. I looked through the reviews (here on Makeupalley and elsewhere). No joy; worse, many reviews (sites elsewhere) - when reread carefully - suggest the reviewer received a sample and had not actually tried it out. Some key phrases turn up again and again, suggesting a copy/paste job from company promotional material.

So I'm not altogether convinced. I'm not buying this again (well, this is a brand-new tube), but I'm not throwing it out either. It's early days yet on rubbery-brush technology, so I'll keep an eye out on reviews and boards for tips on technique. If you do try this, please do tell us about it, especially its application.

I received a large sample of this in a GWP. I love the way it applies and looks on my lashes, and it has a nice brush. Somehow this still ended up smeared under my lower lashes and I only apply it to my upper lashes. I will stick to my MAC Splashproof.

It definitely stays on, doesn't flake, and lasts all day. Very pleased with it, however, I couldn't get it off. Tried all my usual go to products for getting it off and still it didn't budge. I will have to go back to Prescriptives to see what they are selling to remove the product. So if you plan to do any activities that involve water (or plan on crying all day) you can use this product without fear!

I have mixed feelings about this. Pros: nice dark shiny black color, never clumps or flakes (everything flakes on me!), lasts for days (in fact it's a little hard to get off), love the flexible brush. Cons: even if I don't put it on my lower lashes, it smudges under my eyes. It must be my eye cream because otherwise it stays on great. I'll probably keep looking.

This is the best mascara I have ever purchased! I have oily skin and mascara tends to break down on me pretty fast. Not this one! This lasted on my eyes from 7 AM to 7 PM with no flaking or smudging! I didn't have any stinging of my eyes from the flaking, like other formulas have done in the past. The brush is kind of flexible like the lash brush from the Maybelline Define-a-lash mascara and the formula contains Teflon which is supposed to make it last longer. I have long, curly eyelashes so I didn't notice if it made my lashes longer. But I did notice the brush separated my lashes without any clumps. The only thing I wanted was for it to not smudge, and it did just that. I plan on repurchasing again.
