I'm so surprised my skin likes this, as this type of lotion is usually the sort of thing that either makes me more oily or just doesn't seem to do anything. I actually find that it hydrates my skin nicely, is absorbed quickly, and leaves my skin looking fairly matte for an acceptable amount of time. It doesn't have a fragrance or spf and I think this probably explains why it doesn't make it too greasy. It makes a nice base for make up and I'm currently applying my Biore UV Perfect over this for a nice dewy-ish finish during the day time.

I really like the way my skin feels after I've applied this after thoroughly cleansing in the evening. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all. I've also started using this to buffer my duac cream by mixing the two together on my hand, and then applying it. This has helped cut down on the irritation caused by the bp. On some areas that were dry (from before I used this) I'm able to just keep applying thick layers of this lotion, which are quickly abosorbed into the skin. This hasn't caused any clogs or further break outs.

Really surprised I like this, but I'm really enjoying using this no nonsense cream. I'm also surprised to see that this product has such low reviews. It goes to show that youreally have to try something to see if your skin will like it.

The bottle cost £3 which is great value and I now feel that this product will be something I always keep in my skincare arsenal. I'm not sure if that makes it HG, but it is something that I feel I can trust, even on skin that has been irritated/dried out by acne medications etc.

This is a good moisturizer. Although it has mineral oil, it does not break me out. This light moisturizer isn't too heavy on my oily skin. There are some downsides though.. It has sparkles! I guess that's fine if you don't have oily skin, but if you do, it just makes your skin shiny... Also, I don't really like the packaging. Sort of hard to get the last bit of product out. Overall this is an okay product. I might repurchase since it's pretty cheap, but if you haven't tried it, you should give it a shot!

I think this product smells horrible and it broke my arms out in a bumpy rash. I will never use it again. I put it on my arms and suddenly 15 minutes later I look down at my arms and they are covered in some type of skin rash. This only happened to the part that I applied the lotion to. I do not recommend this.

I'll try to explain my ratings in sections.
OVERALL RATING:
I gave two lippies because I do believe that this moisturized my skin effectively, and that the product is what it says it is- a light, hydrating moisturizer. However, upon using this for the first two weeks, I noticed that every day I would wake up with new blemishes and after a while it just became too unbearable to stick with... This moisturizer now lives in my bathroom drawer with all of my other defective moisturizers, where it will stay until I am out of hand lotion in the winter. Plus, the company implies that their products are natural and simple and if you look at the ingredient lists of their products, they *simply* are not.

PRICE:
I thought this was rather expensive for a drugstore moisturizer and was hesitant to even buy it at all in the first place, simply because of the price... I spend ten minutes kneeled down in the skincare aisle of Target, reading the ingredients and unsure of whether or not to entrust this moisturizer with the task of beautifying my skin. Apparently I did not make a very good decision!

PACKAGING:
I thought the packaging was just fine for a moisturizer, though it was a bit difficult for me to open (I don't know if anybody else had this problem). I'm not too picky about packaging unless the moisturizer happens to come in a jar, which this one does not.

I've been using the Simple Hydrating face lotion for maybe 5 months now. I have dry, sensitive, combo skin. It absorbs easily and is non-greasy. Feels nice and refreshing and relieves any dry skin patches. It has not made me break out or clog my pores. Its says right on it that it's "hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and won't clog pores" so not sure why everyone out there says they are breakout out by it?!. This lotion isn't heavy or very thick, but it moisturizes perfectly. It has "simple" ingredients, not "natural" ones. So don't be confused. Also there are no perfumes or dyes. Great for sensitive skin. I just wish it was more "natural" ingredients.

I bought this a few weeks ago. It's alright, I find that it doesnt absorb well on my skin. If I'm not putting on any makeup, I dont put this on b/c I find within an hour or two of washing my face, my face is an oil slick. If I AM putting on makeup (my makeup tends to matte-ify my face) I'll put a SMALL dab of this on my face. Not too terribly impressed with it :/

after switching to the hydrating version from the richer regenerating version for the summer, i was very dissapointed. it cannot be absorbedvery well and the biggest problem of this product is ,, WHY ON EARTH DOES IT CONTAIN GLITTEr, well the ingredient does say mica so im guess that s what it is ,, but as a product for sensitive skin, doesnt the glitter contradict the claim. im guessing it s the glitter that s giving me break outs and enlarged my pores :(

I like this product for the fact that I can put it on dry patches on my oily skin and it doesn't make me look oily/greasy or make me break out from being to heavy. I like that it's great for sensitive skin too and it's well worth the money.

This is sitting on my table right now and I thought I'd review it, but I really shouldn't because I've got homework to do...
----
I absolutely love this. A friend recommended this product to me (well, most Simple moisturisers) because it'd be best for my aggravated, sensitive face - especially because my skin barrier had broken. I've been using it for two months now.
--------
I do my cleansing routine, then while my face is still damp I apply it. It is a light lotion, doesn't smell like anything, and spreads VERY easily and effortlessly into your face wet or dry!

I only use it at night time and notice most nights when I wake-up and touch my face I think 'what the heck? My face is so soft!!' and I don't feel like washing the softness away in the morning! (Well, I only splash my face in the mornings anyway but still!)
Unfortunately, I do not like the packaging.. just seems like to me there'll still be a lot lurking at the bottom.
---------
I really recommend this if you're looking for a light non-greasy moisturiser for sensitive skin. :)

Update: I used this for a week straight and noticed some clogged pores on my nose and cheeks. No bumps or blemishes yet but I'm going to stop using it. It contains cheap ingredients (including the controversial paraffinum liquidum/mineral oil) and I just don't think it's worth using anymore. Re-rated to 3 lippies.

I find this is good to use with Estee lauder's double wear foundation. This gets slightly oily throughout the day, and Double wear is an extremely dry foundation... so when I use the two together it makes the foundation look less matte.

This has good reviews on acne.org for being a safe moisturiser for people with acne prone skin. So far I've used it on the few occasions I've worn foundation and it's not caused me any problems. I have extremely clog prone skin and after one day of using most moisturisers, I'll have clogged pores all over my cheeks. I can't say for certain this will never cause acne, but at least for infrequent use it is really great. I'll update here once I've used it more often.

leaves my face so shiny it's actually ridiculous, my skin feels moisutirsed but you can touch my skin n slide some of the moisture off basically it's not that light, also the shinyness doesnt help when my tzone is already extremely oily... oh i just hate this moisturiser and another thing i do believe it doesnt have any spf... .. great bottle though last forever

I would ideally give this a 2.5 out of 5 - on the one hand it is gentle but on the other hand I swear something about this product leaves a really shiny film over my face. Not a good look!

This product would be fantatsic for those that don't mind mineral oils on their face. I love everything else about it! It is readily available and the price cannot be beaten, even the packaging is great, as it is in a squeezable bottle. I hate face creams in unhygienic tubs or tubes which dispense too much product or leak. The moisturiser is a light lotion that is fragrance free and spreads over the face like water. It hydrates my skin surprisingly well, and I feel soft all day. However, it does leave a dull layer on my face, as all products with paraffin tend to do and immediately leaves me with the shiny nose of death. It also has mica in it, which leaves my face slightly shimmery, which isn't really to my taste. I bet it makes a great body moisturiser though. For reference my HG is St Ives Day Cream which left me fresh, bright and smooth but alas got discontinued. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser is amazing value, but doesn't quite make the cut. Mineral oils often give me spots, so far this product has not, but it does make my face dull and a little greasy.

I have been using the same moisturiser for years (L'Oreal Oil Free Pure Zone) and because I have very spot prone /oily skin I am always really nervous about switching products so I get stuck in a rut. The trouble with previous moisturisers I've used is that they just don't moisturise enough, they break me out or they make my skin really greasy. I've never moisturised before bed as if I left a product on overnight I would almost always wake up with spots the next day. Recently I've completly changed my skincare routine (trying to ditch all the super drying prouducts I use as after I wash my face it looks like I've had a face lift because my skins so tight!) and thought I'd brave a new moisturiser as the L'Oreal product just wasn't moisturising enough. I've also recently started self tanning my face which is drying out my skin and I needed to have a good mosituriser to prep my face. I choose this one because it said 'light' but to be honest I was expecting the worse as it didn't say oil free which usually means I stay clear however at the price I couldn't resist trying it.

When I put it on my hand I was suprised at the texture - it felt almost gel like. I put it on in the morning and was amazed at how mositurised my face felt, it wasn't tight at all and once rubbed in the product felt really light and not at all greasy. After a few days with no breakouts I decided to try the product overnight and to my suprise I still haven't had a breakout - in fact my skin has been so much better than when I didn't moisturise. I'm so happy with this product :) my skin feels so much softer and looks healthier. I think it's got a tiny bit of shimmer in as well which I love..it's works great under my self tanner and under my make up. Overall very happy and will continue to use!

This is my favourite cheap moisturizer. It's "simple", it has no added perfume/colours etc. It's super moisturizing and keeps my skin nice, hydrated and supple all day. It feels good on the skin and I've never had any reactions from it. I'm going to keep using this as long as possible! It's also quite cheap so a complete steal. If my skin is feeling a bit tight which it does some days I just chuck this into my bag and go!

finally Simple has its own little section. its a brand found in boots, superdrug etc, that sells items that are perfume-free, colour-free etc, designed not to irritate your skin. anyway i have the moisturiser, ive been using it happily for some years having tried other inferior ones beforehand. there are two version. light and rich. u pick depending whether u have dry or oily skin. it comes with a white bottle with green screw cap and lasts 2 months perhaps more with usage morning and night. it goes on very easily, isnt too greasy, and absorbs quickly into the skin, which is helpful after u use things like drying foaming cleansers and such. very effective, im not going to bother seeing if ican find a better one cos this works a treat!

I've been using Simple Hydrating Moisturizing Lotion for about 3-4 years. Absolutely no fragrance in a very light but moisturizing formula. I use it on my face under my Olay and/or suncreen depending on the weather etc and what Im doing as well as on my neck/chest. It absorbs really well and doesnt feel sticky. If you have particularly dry skin you may need something more emollient. Having said that, I did have quite dry skin with flaky patches on my cheeks after some bouts of facial dermatitis (needing cortisone treatment) and all I used was this product and it allowed me to throw away the cortisone for good and I've never had the dermatitis come back. No more flaky bits either! This product is a staple for me and at under $8 it's a steal! My HG all-in-one al cheapo for face, chest and legs!

This is a real nice body lotion. Its fragance free; no perfume nor colour and is designed for sensitive skin. Thus, its excellent for when you've just shaven as it does not irritate. Makes your skin soft and ideal for everyday use. Its got skin friendly ingredients like almond and rose oil and vitamin e too. I love it.
