I love this primer, I use it before my mineral foundation which is nude by nature, I really think it helps to keep my make up on. I Love Love Love the packaging, this is the first powder I have brought that you can actually seal off the product so that none tips into the lid, creating a mess and losing product when opening the container. This saves the product from being wasted, I wish all powder products came like this. The only bad thing I could say is that I was expecting the container to be bigger then it is, I brought this online so I couldn't actually see how big it was before paying. You don't really need a lot of this so I do think it would last a fair while. Great product I highly recommend!

There are two completely different types of "mineral primer" by LM- a white creamy one in a tube and a loose powder one. My review is for the tube. I hate to bash LM cuz i use alot of her stuff regularly but this just didnt work for me. I had the generously sized sample tube of this and tried it several times with the same disapointing results. My makeup wore off fast and was really splotchy when I used this vs it lasting longer and looking better with smashbox, sephora and other clear silicone gel primers. sorry LM-this is a NO!

Laura Mercier Mineral Primer is simply divine. Not only does it helps the powder stay fresh even longer, it seriously minimizes the appearance of pores and creates a perfect canvas for your face. It also helps the SPF work better and longer, which is super great for the summer time!

I really wanted to like this product. I was trying everything to "make" the LM mineral make-up work. Unfortunately it just didn't do anything for me. Not bad, but not worth $30. Also, after having it for about a week I went to use it and what came out was separated (clear oily liquid). Back to Sephora it went.

Wow, I really like this product! I have always loved mineral makeup but it just would not last on my skin, and my skin is NOT oily. Anyway, after reading reviews on this I decided to give it a try. I put this on and right away I noticed that my skin looked flawless. I then put on the Laura Mercier mineral makeup. The makeup goes on smoothly and does not look cakey or unnatural. After a few hours my makeup looks just as good as it does when I first put it on. My face looks smooth and flawless. Definitely a great product and I will buy again.

It doesn't work for me. It's sticky and doesn't hold my make up that long. My face got oily by the end of the day. I like Smashbox Primer (light) better. And this is a 30 bucks primer? Not worth it.

I have dry PPP skin and I wasn't sure how this product would work for me, so I got a sample and tried it. I have to say that it is absolutely outstanding for mineral foundation application. I applied this over my moisturizer and then applied the Laura Geller Balance and Brighton Mineral Foundation. My skin looked flawless - no caking, no lines, no wrinkles. Plus, the foundation stayed all day and I never touched it up. My make-up was flawless. This product is outstanding and I highly recommend it for all powder foundations for a fabulous flawless finish. What I did notice about this primer is that it did cause my foundation to turn a little darker than usual, so make sure your mineral make-up is exactly the correct shade for your skin or you will look too dark.

I have the habit of investigating a product's "doube agent" abilities, and I am usually rewarded.

In the present case, it's Laura Mercier's Mineral Primer powder. The other day, I was in a hurry (something I HATE therefore, I usually try to avoid) and I dipped into my drawer looking for my MUFE's HD powder. When I realized I had the wrong jar, I decided to go ahead and use it anyway. I was surprised at the very natural and pretty finish I got with this product. It honestly looked like I had no powder at all. Much better even than MUFE's. It got rid of the shinies, but did not look powdery AT ALL.

I also used it under powder fdt. (any) and before retouching my face with regular powder. And was happy on both occasions.

Now this is the only thing I use to set fdt. I hope to goodness they won't discontinue it, as it usually happens whenever I fall in love with a product (crosses fingers).

I bought this from Sephora. I was actually looking for Spackle because I heard great things about it. The particular store I went to didn't carry Spackle so I tried this and all in all I'm happy with it. Seemed somewhat greasy at first but it makes my skin baby soft and my MU lasts all day.

I read one review that said this primer doesn't play well with LM's oil free foundation, and I agree. This primer is a little difficult to blend into skin as well, and I seem to need a lot just to cover my face. LM oil free foundation on top of this seem to streak and blob like nobody's business and make it obvious to the entire world that I'm wearing makeup. I'll continue to give this primer a chance and maybe wear it with another type of foundation, but regardless I won't buy it again, it's just not impressive and quite pricey.

I will start off by saying that I have always thought primers were a makeup gimmick, with absolutely no value - until I tried this one. I have tried about 7 other primers - MU4E, Tarte (not too bad), LM Oil-Free, LM Regular primer, 3 different kinds of Smashbox (horrible), BE. It is in a liquid form, but made of minerals and oil-free. It goes on smooth, dries in about 5 seconds to a powder-like finish, MMU or TM go great over top of this, and doesn't take time to absorb into the skin (I always thought that was unhealthy and a step that took WAY too long). Really a great primer, I'm actually impressed. Laura is the creator of primers, so even if this one doesn't do it for you, one of her others probably will. FYI, my skin is combo, some of it oily, some dry, and makeup never stays on my face unless this is on. Really amazing.

I love this product. I have dry skin, and apply this after moisturiser and before Lily Lolo mineral foundation. I find it provides a perfect base, making the foundation application much smoother and easier. It also means I can use a lot less foundation - it's as if the first layer of foundation is being replaced by the primer. However, I'm not sure how expensive this primer is (RIS, thank you!), so that could be a good or a bad thing. It will certainly make my foundation last a lot longer. This gives me a more even look when finished, and also prevents a bit of patchiness I sometimes get around the nose and chin.

Finally I love the packaging! My main problem with MMU (especially blush and eyeshadow) is that when transported all the product ends up sitting on top of the sifter and spills out everywhere. It's also hard to load a brush with a moderate amount when this happens. LM jars make this a thing of the past by providing a twist closer on the sifter. Genius!

I've done comparisons with and without the Primer, and this Primer really makes my oily skin look dry and flaky once my mineral foundation is applied...which is definitely odd - my skin has never looked dry before! I even tried using my moisturizer before applying this, but it still didn't work.

This is one of the only LM products I've tried that I didn't really love...but this one is a no-go for me. Plus, it's pretty expensive, considering the size of the container that you get for the money.

This is the new LIQUID foundation primer for mineral makeup by Laura Mercier. I got mine from a mineral makeup kit sold at Sephora. I think it is great. The primer smooths my skin to a matte finish, so mineral makeup goes on smoothly. This is one of the very few silicone-based primer that doesn't break me out, of course this could be different for everybody. I also tried this with other Laura Mercier foundations:
Oil-Free-doesn't work too well with this. Since they are both matte, it kinda dried my skin out. Will stick with the original primer for this.
Silk Creme-works well together! IMO it works better than with the original primer.
Powder Foundation-works well together also!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Mineral primes skin to achieve a smoother, more even application of Laura Mercier's mineral formulas. The cutting-edge, liquid to powder formula prepares the skin for a flawless application of Mineral Powder SPF 15 or Mineral Pressed Powder SPF 15.

This is a must for priming your skin for mmu, especially if you use s/s (which you should!!). In the past, my mmu has grabbed onto s/s and concealer and Clinique pore minimizer and looked patchy. Now, it just is totally smooth and applies like a dream. I use LM and Lancome's new mmu and they both work great with this. Oxidation is also a terrible problem for me but not when I use this powder first. Since I use it all over I can't see this lasting very long, but we'll see. Took off a lippie cause it does nothing to combat oilies but I don't mind a blot or two a day. EDIT September: Now am not sure this does anything at all. Using Cargo Blu-Ray Mattifer and this seems totally unnecessary. Helps application somewhat but I find myself never reaching for it anymore and skin looks great.

I've recently switched from Laura Mercier's liquid foundaton to their mineral range and totally loving it! I have a super oily t-zone and after using the primer + mineral foundation + mineral finishing powder it lasts MUCH longer then when I use liquid foundation (I also used primer + finishing powder previously). My face stays relatively less oily and my face feels light. If you're gonna switch to mineral you should definitely purchase the whole set.

The one annoying thing about the primer is the size of the container. It gets a bit messy because the diameter of the container is smaller than that of the pretty big primer brush.

This is a really nice, high-quality mineral primer. It definitely increases the ease of application and staying power of the Laura Mercier mineral foundation. I don't know that it necessarily shrinks my pores or controls oil, but primarily what I find to be the big benefit of this product is that it does an amazing job of evening out my skin tone. I have pretty blotchy skin and after applying this product, my skin appears much more even in color, with no visible redness. I apply it with the Laura Mercier flat brush. I love the packaging of the LM mineral products, they all come with a twist top on the inside of the lid, allowing you to close off the sifter holes so that the product doesn't create a mess and it's easy to get just what you need into the lid to swirl your brush into. My only complaint about the jar to the primer is that it is small, and not easy to get the product from the lid onto the flat brush, which is much bigger than the primer jar. Other than that, a great product.

I can't believe there is not more said about this product. I have been using this for about a month under my Lancome Ageless Mineral powder. I have even worn this by itself with just some bronzing powder. It really makes my skin look good. It makes my powder stay on all day (I have normal skin). I tried this cause I could never find a liquid primer that ever did a thing or didn't have ing. that I react to. I am so glad I gave it a try. It is great for anyone using powder foundation that may need a little extra help. It is a small jar but I can see this lasting forever, you use such a small amount.

I used the LM mineral foundation for about a month and didn't like how it seemed to fade and get a little darker towards the end of the day. Then I tried it with the primer and it makes a huge difference. Not only do my pores look smaller, the foundation has better staying power, even after 12 hours. I know it isn't supposed to be oil controlling, but it does seem to work for me, as I only have to blot once during the day now. I was a bit annoyed at the size of the container, but I really only have to use a very small amount, so it will probably last a while. I use it with the LM flat brush, and it works well for me. Be careful about using too much; that may be why some people say it looks like baby powder on them.
