This review is for the "blue" rosehip facial serum. There are two kinds blue and rose. Blue has blue chamomile, carrot and immortelle oils in it for sensitive dehydrated and mature skin types. The rose is more for normal combo types. Used with the Lavender Hydrosol this has really calmed down the redness and eased up the dehydrated condition of my normal to dry, sensitive skin. I tried the Blue facial kit for $29.95 at Whole Foods. The serum is one of the products in this kit. Love it!

I purchased the Blue Kit at whole foods about a week ago, and have been using it daily since. It's rare that I am impressed by a skin care line right away. I saw results the second day. I should add that I am faithfully following the Evanhealy advice to let this skin rest at night, and usually do not put anything on it before bed. I was already a believer in the less is more approach to skin care after 2 years of severe trial and error with many expensive and drug store brands. This treatment serum is my favorite thing in the blue line so far, followed closely by the Lavender Hydrosol, which takes down inflammation like that. I have very sensitive skin that tends to react badly (breakout) to anything with irritants or chemicals. This whole line makes my skin feel plump and hydrated, but never oily or greasy. I thought I would never like another oil as much as neem oil, but this gives it a run for its money. I personally feel that skin should be left alone most of the time,...but if you want a skincare line to feel good about..then this is it.

Tested out samples of both versions, thanks to a generous MUAer; I'm afraid that, while the packaging and scent are exquisite, these are a no for me.
There are two versions of the Evan Healy Rosehip Treatment Facial Serum--to give it its full name. Both have rosehip seed oil as a main ingredient, but note that this is not rosehip oil plain and simple. Both also contain carrot seed oil (another decent source of vitamin A), and some essential oils (which have aromatherapeutic claims: up to you on that business). Neither version worked as well on my skin as rosehip oil does; indeed, the Blue version set off allergic sneezing (that would be the lavender).
The Blue version also contains blue chamomile, immortelle, and lavender essential oils. All add scent (alas, I'm quite allergic to lavender); blue (German) chamomile and immortelle (everlasting) are decent soothers & anti-inflammatory; my skin's fine with them.
The Rose version also contains geranium, rosewood, and sandalwood EOs; adding scent. Does nothing for me, and as a sensitive-skinned and -nosed person, I prefer unscented skincare anyway and see no need to add EOs willy-nilly. Tougher hides may beg leave to differ, and those with different approaches to the use and abuse of scent in everyday life may well delight in the added scent... this just isn't my thing, and I'd advise caution to any other sensitive, irritable folks out there.
If you like the sound of these scents, and know they're fine on your skin, and indeed maybe prefer your products to be scented: go for it!
PRICE: USD 24.95 / 0.5 fl oz (15 ml), plus shipping. Note for comparison that plain organic unrefined rosehip seed oil is available from various places online from around USD 5.00-7.00 / 1 fl oz (i.e. between 1/8 and 1/10 of the price), and if you really wanted the scent, you could add that and make up your own version for considerably less.
INGREDIENTS:
Blue: Rose hip seed oil (Rosa canina seed); essential oils of lavender (Lavandula angustifolia maillette), blue chamomile (Matricaria recutica), immortelle (Helichrysum italicum), carrot seed (Daucus carota), and vitamin E (tocopherol).
Rose: Rose hip seed oil (Rosa canina seed); essential oils of rose geranium (Pelargonium roseum asperum), rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora), carrot seed (Daucus carota), sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) Australia, and vitamin E (tocopherol).

At first I really liked this product - it's light, gentle on sensitive skin and gets absorbed pretty well. However, looks like it clogged pores on my cheeks :((( It gradually got worse and worse (I've been using it for about a month). FYI, I have been using exclusively Jojoba oil + toner for over three months, and my skin was fairly clear before I added this product to my regiment. So back to the search for a good day moisturizer.
PS I'll follow the advise on a comment below and will keep the bottle with pump - it's a great glass little bottle for my Jojoba oil.

Evan healy products are changing my skin. As in, clearing out, evening out, softening and beautifying my life-long "problem" skin. This serum hydrates my skin, makes it glow and is slowly bringing all those congested pores and impurities I have around my mouth to the surface. That might sounds scary but it hasn't been anythign like the usual "purge" effect I have seen after a facial or other deep cleansing product. Instead, I can tell this serum is both clearing, hydrating and clearing out my skin. I love putting it on each morning, knowing that it is a product of incredible quality and integrity. It smells rich and natural. I am so grateful to have found evan healy!

I LOVE this serum!! I just stumbled upon it at Henry's and I decided to give it a try. I had cystic acnes on my chin when I first tried this and it actually helped clearing my acnes.
What i really like about is that it's so hydrating and yet doesn't break me out at all. I've only used it for 3 days now but so far it works great.

WOW is all I can say. I've always been weary of natural and organic products b/c I ALWAYS reacted in the past to essential oils. Evan clearly knows how to formulate her products, b/c my insanely sensitive skin has not felt any adverse reaction whatsoever to any of her products. I did purge a little bit after about a week, which is normal b/c active lines bring impurities to the surface, especially when also using the clay mask weekly. I had a HORRIBLE reaction to Darphin and broke out in bad hives all over. I used this Blue line when my skin calmed down and saw a huge improvement in only 2 days. I use the Rosehip Blue serum and the Immortelle and Lavender hydrosols and my skin looks fantastic. It's light but still moisturizes. If you need extra moisture, use her Pomegranate serum or Whipped Shea butter. Thumbs up to this! You can even rub a little extra on acne or scars to help heal them even faster. **UPDATE as of 1/24/11: Been using for about a month. This definitely has faded my PIH acne scars, but I think it also started giving me clogged pores along my jawline, b/c I never used to have any little bumps there and the same thing happened when I used to use EVOO to moisturize my skin. So I'm going to try not spreading it all over my face and instead just massaging into red areas and using the Blue Chamomile Moisturizer alone all over and see how that goes....more update to follow! **UPDATE 5/9/11: After battling some intestinal issues - which were the source of my acne - I've been using a little of this on my tzone instead of spreading all over, focusing on leftover acne red marks or dry spots and it seems to be fine, no breakouts yet! Perhaps my skin has also calmed down since initially using the line. Regardless, I still love her products more than anything else I've ever tried!!!

This a great facial oil. It has a lovely scent, soothing to the skin and sinks in quickly, leaving my face moisturized and weather-proofed. In the summer, it's still light enough for daily use.
Evanhealy doesn't make outrageous claims regarding its products, which is refreshing. I haven't noticed any miraculous differences in my skin; but on the other hand, I can't say I have a single complaint, either. So, five lippies for a solid, dependable product.

This oil is hydrating and also really helps at evening skintone and fading marks. I have combo skin and this is amazing; I haven't found it to have any adverse effects and I use it everyday.

I wrote a review for this under its official name "Rosehip Treatment Facial Serum in Rose " But figured I'd post it here as well:
Rosehip Treatment Facial Serum in Rose hydrates my skin and makes it glow with such a small amount. In the morning, its effect is like a primer, giving a smoothness to the application of my tinted moisturizer and boosting its hydration. At night, I apply the Rosehip Serum after spritzing with evanhealy’s Rose Geranium Facial Tonic Hydrosol which nourishes the skin with antioxidants. When I use the serum and hydrosol together, I wake up with hydrated, well rested skin.

This is the first time I've used rosehip oil. I'm on my 2nd bottle of the Blue version. I use it with the hydrosols (lavender is my favorite but I also like the rose). I believe it has helped my tzone. I get waxy clogged pores (not really blackheads but "waxy beads"...lack of a better term). Since using evanhealy's cream cleansers, hydrosols, and this oil, I don't get pore congestion nearly as much.
EDIT: I'm on my 4th (I think) bottle. This is my go to for when my skin is dry from masks/peel/general dryness or when it just needs that indescribable "something". LOVE THIS!!!!!!!

I'm just going to give this a 1 because it stung when I applied it to my rosacea face and it gave me a wee bit of a flare up. No further comment necessary.

I bought this product based on the recommendations from MUA but unfortunately, it didn't do much for me. It did moisturized my skin but nothing more than the sweet almond oil I was using prior to the EH rosehip oil. I didn't notice any improvement in skin texture or clarity and in fact, I think more pores looked a little worse. I do love the little pump bottle though so I've kept the bottle and have since been refilling it with sweet almond oil. A couple of pumps of that each morning and night and my skin is just as nicely moisturized as with the more expensive original product.

Fantastic product if you have sensitive skin! My skin has been sensitive but with the use of this oil and the blue camomile moisturizer, it has really improved! I would strongly recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin as it really calms it right down.

This oil has been a cure-all for me. I apply it just as the direction suggest, in combination with the lavender hydrosol, and it sinks into my skin immediately, leaving my skin hydrated, calm, and glowing. This doesn't leave the typical greasiness that is left by so many serums, nor does it just sit on top of the skin, coating it. It actually penetrates deep into the skin, and the surface is not oily. I can wear foundation over this with no problem, even without a primer. I have noticed a lessening of fine lines, blemishes, blackhead, and irritation since using this oil. The scent is light and relaxing. Applying this every morning and night has become a pleasant ritual, something I really look forward to doing. I would recommend this oil to anyone, whether one had dry, oily, combo, or normal skin. I think it would help balance and heal all skin types. For reference's sake, I am using the blue version of this oil, along with the rest of the blue line products.

I bought a trial box of these products due to the recommendations on this website. I much prefer natural products, but have found many of them based on fads or marketing hype. This line is based on logic and therapeutic value. The products DON'T contain a whole confusing variety of essential oils and other unnecessary goop. These products aim to bring skin into balance. No hype, no silly promises. They are very pleasant and easy to use.
I love this oil; I bought the rose because I liked the ingredients and scent over the blue. I am now mixing a drop of oil with a drop of the sea serum and applying on top of the hydrosol. It's a little heavy in super hot weather during the day, but It keeps me from being itchy. I, also, gave up wearing foundation and only use mineral powder. I love this and it's not even my favorite product in the line!
Edit: If I could give this more lippies, I would. I had a major allergic reaction to a new facial sunscreen while on a trip. I developed a dry, itchy rash all over my face. I used the oil generously day and night. The mess was healed in 2-3 days. Awesome.

I love this oil - my skin is getting clearer, brighter and glowing. Who doesn't want that?
I've been trying to find the right skin care - so I do not have to wear makeup. I want that dewy natural look. My skin is combination/sensitive so I go the blue chamomile. What I really love about this line is that I don't have question what my skin type is. It is pretty much a one-size fits all and suits my mimimalist approach. I've tried Dr. Hauschka and Suki and for some reason had allergic reaction - red rash. I hope that I can continue to use this without problem. I think it is the best thing I have ever found. I use a different cleanser, but also bought the green tea mask, hydrosol and blue chamomile moisturizer! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Edit: Returned. Ended up being too heavy. My skin just can't handle the constant oil. I stopped using and my skin cleared right up.

I'm so happy that I stumbled into Evanhealy at my local health food store. After researching a bit online I immediately purchased this rose hip oil along with cleansers to start out. Oh mine I couldn't believe how well my skin has reacted to this oil! To let you all know I've oily/acne-prone skin and I'm very hesitant to put any oil-base product on my face. I've tried before Dr. Hauschka balancing oil and I was put off. So it took me really great courage to pick up this oil from Evenhealy (thanks to the raving reviews here!).
I tried it for a couple nights now and I'm totally sold! It absorbs instantly into my skin without leaving any greasy residue like all other oils do. And the calming scent of pure rose hip starts to work through deeply inhaling. It totally gives you the luxury of aroma therapy with soothing effects combined with healing powers. Even after a couple hours I put it on my face has not become oily but instead continued feeling calm and even toned.
I think I've finally found the HG face oil that combines the aroma therapy and healing effect that this product claims to do. Try it and you won't regret it!
