This is a beautiful coppery, brown colour but it hardly shows up on my eyelids. The packaging is handy (no need to sharpen the pen) but I prefer the shade 'Earthline' which is a beautiful greyish colour and a very flattering colour for brown-eyed girls. I'm gonna finish this pencil (hopefully a lighter might solve my problems by melting the product a little, just have to be careful)

Next time I might have a go at Brownborder which is slightly darker

i bought this as an under eye liner because i hated using something as dark as brownborder and antiquity (which was like a khahi green- what i was using before plank) had been discontinued.
plank hasnt failed me so far. its a very soft brown, its alot lighter than all the other browns in the technakhol range. and like all the technakhols, it doesnt smudge, budge or fade. even when i cry. it isnt harshly dark and thats what i love about it.
biggest fan of technakhols, totally love this brown colour :) will purchase again!

This eyeliner is okay. It is a light, milk chocolate color. Like hershey's chocolate milk, haha. Because of that, it has a grey undertone to it, which doesn't really flatter my warm with yellow undertones, skin, or my green eyes. It has a tendency to make the whites of my eyes look "muddy" if you know what I mean. I think it would look better on someone who has clear blue eyes- not dark green like mine.
BUT despite these negatives (for me), I still use it sometimes. It's a very light color so it's great for if you're going for a very natural, soft look. It also looks good with certain color eyeshadows (and bad with other colors...).

EDIT- I'm bumping my rating up to 4 stars. I actually really like this one as my lower liner. I've yet to find another brown eyeliner that softly defines that area like Plank does. I've been missing it since I ran out. So it's not that great for me as an upper liner but for bottom it's HG!

I had bought this product hoping that it would look like a nice chocolate brown on my waterline, since that is where I usually put my eyeliner. But when I took it out of the box and tried it, hardly any colour showed at all. I was really disappointed since I really wanted that natural look. Now, I have to put it on my upper lash line, which does look nice aswell. The texture is very soft and sort of creamy, so it just glides on your waterline. Although, because it is so soft, it did break in half after the second use.
The colour is a light chocolate brown with bronze undertones which is gorgeous and compliments brown eyes very well. I paid 17.50$CA for this Technakohl which is not worth it, since it doesn not serve the purpose I wanted.
The packaging is great! It twists up, so there's no need to sharpen it.
Next time, I would buy a Technakohl liner, but in a different colour.

Fabulous kohl eyeliner. The colour reminds me of milk chocolate! This colour is really flattering to girls with brown hair.

You only need a light pressure to apply the kohl and it glides on well. (There is none of the pushing really hard and getting no eyeliner that I have experienced with a Rimmel brown kohl eyeliner. )

This is not the usual wood pencil eyeliner fare, instead it is a plastic case which you turn the head of the "pencil" to extend the length of kohl. Excellent - no more scratchy just sharpened pencil wood to catch on your eyelids! This makes it easier to control and more precise to use aswell.

The actual kohl in this product seems far softer than the Rimmel pencil I was previously using., and smooths on to your eyelid nicely.

It has great staying power, really lasts all day! Easy to control and fab if you want to get "Technakohl" !!
Great product, I will absolutely buy it again!!

I cant believe the 50% review outcome on this eyeliner in Plank! I like Technakohls by Mac.So far this eyeliner works very nice for me,the bronze is unique in color deep light brown.Im darker toned and it is still lovely.I have to say it is better for the natural look, perhaps that is why the reviews are not as great as we would have hoped for.Seems these days everyone is wearing smokey looks. If you are a natural kinda girl, this eyeliner is the one for you.I wear it on my bottom eyeline and it looks fabulous! subtle and sexy, it wears very nicely throughout the day too,no smudges thus far.Try wearing it with a deep brown eyeshadow on the lids and Plank on the bottom line of your eyes,if you want wear a deeper eyeliner on top and it will give your eyes a pop.

This is a nice bronze that would have been even better if it were darker but it's still nice. You get a very natural look with this. Doesn't smudge but disappears somewhere. I only use this on my lower rims. It's not dark enough to define the top. But it's useful for a very natural look.

MAC TechnaKohl Liner is a creamy-ish eyeliner that comes in a plastic mechanical-type pencil. It has a plastic cap that pulls off and then snaps back on. The pencil is self-sharpening, meaning that there is no sharpening necessary because the liner is swiveled up with a turn of the pencil. There is .012 oz. of liner in each pencil. From MACCosmetics: "A mechanical pencil-style liner. In formula, soft and creamy, with an intense, rich, colour deposit. Blends on application: dries quickly to a long-wear, non-smudge finish. Versatile. An easy way to line the top and lower lash line of the eye. When applied at a 90 degree angle, provides a thin precision line. For thicker application, apply at a flat angle."

The packaging for the TechnaKohl Liner is the same as a Glimmersticks pencil. Basic plastic pencil or pen-type with a plastic type. So there was nothing really special here with the TechnaKohl. The shade I chose was Plank, which MAC describes on their website as "milk chocolate brown with brown pearl". In person, it was unlike other shades I'd ever seen - it was a bit less intense and dark than other brown liners I've worn. I figured this would be the perfect shade for me. MAC's description is very accurate - it is like a milk chocolate shade and it does have a very slight brown iridescence.

The first thing I noticed when I applied my new TechnaKohl Liner is that it's a bit more dry than other liners. This translates into a less creamy, gliding application. I have to hold it between two fingers or swipe it under my lower lash line a few times in order to get it "warmed up" a bit to make it more creamy and to make it want to glide on. This is really annoying on a busy morning. I don't have to do this with any of the liners I've purchased over the past few years and it's an extra step that is most unwelcome when I'm looking at the clock and it says that I should have left the house 10 minutes ago.

This pencil can be applied two ways - apply at a 90-degree angle for a thinner line, and flat or head-on for a thicker line. I tend to go for the thicker line, and then I apply a bit of eyeshadow over it to "set" the liner. This works very well for me. I don't like the way that a super-fine line of liner looks on me, so I never apply it this way. However, I would imagine that this pencil would work well in that way for those who like the thinner line. One good thing that I love about this liner is that it's retractable. If you swivel up too much liner, you can swivel it down a little and don't have to worry about applying it and breaking off the tip.

MAC TechnaKohl Liner probably "sets" in a short period of time, but I'm never testing it to see if it's "set" or not. I'm out the door by that time. I do know that once I put a bit of powder eyeshadow over it, it never smudges. So if you like to blend a bit of shadow over your liner, you should know that this liner works well in that way. I have not had any smudges while wearing this liner.

The wear of this liner is pretty good. It wears for about six or seven hours or so before I notice any fading. But I do notice some fading at that point. I have had to touch up my liner a bit around lunchtime when I noticed that it had faded. I also wouldn't say that this liner is waterproof, but it also doesn't smear. It sort of wears off slowly. I have had some drugstore liners last a bit longer than the MAC TechnaKohl Liner.

Overall, this isn't a bad liner. It's just not as good as it could be for the hefty pricetag, and it's not what I expect from MAC - which is a super long-wearing liner that glides on from the first second that it's applied and doesn't need to be warmed up first. I don't think I will buy this one again, but if all of my other choices were sold out or discontinued, I would buy this one. I would try a different shade, though, as I find that the milk chocolate Plank shade is too light for me - this is a shade that is probably best for pale blondes that like a brown shade that is not overpowering, not a olive skinned brunette like myself. I need a bit more intensity in a brown liner.

3 lippies for this one.

I am on the fence with this one. I do like the formula, but the color takes me some getting used to. I wanted a great bronze color to go with my great summery yellows and bronzes, and this was what the SA recommended. I find that while it matches the colors, I have to be selective as to what I wear it with-otherwise it makes me look like I have red eyes. Didn't realize there was so much reddish pigment in there, but I haven't had a reaction yet, so that is good! I have other colors and may purchase others, but not so sure about this one.

I bought this when i was getting bored of my HG Technakohl Earthline. Loved it for awhile but realised that it tends to fade so much more easily than Earthline. Not opaque enough and i need to touch up endlessly. There are other brands that make a similar reddish brown so this is not really anything special. Wont buy again.

I received this as an Christmas gift and it's a welcome addition to all the other "brown" eyeliners I have. Most mornings, I use this eyeliner then top off with mascara for a non-fuss look. Anyway, it's a great copper color with shimmer to it -- like no other line I've seen. It glides it on so easily and it's a plus that I dont have to sharpen it. I just wish the price was lower.

This is a beautiful soft brown with a copper-like finish (sort of matte/iridescent if that makes any sense). It is soft, but not mushy and lines perfectly and twists up and down so you don't have to deal with sharpening. I can't imagine that ANYONE would look bad in this liner.

This is the look I used it with:

Rubenesque painterly paint pot as base (not thick, just brush it on lightly from brown to lashes with 217 brush)
Bamboo e/s in the crease
Orb to highlight
Woodwinked over lower lid
Plank eyeliner
Maybelline full n soft mascara.

It's a great neautral/day look and can be easily spiced up to an evening look by adding a nice brown to the outer corners of the lids.
