This is hands-down my favorite body lotion! The scent is fantastic and wears well with my body chemistry, absorbs easily and hydrates well. HG status!

I reviewed the vanilla scent of this hand cream and I like this scent even better, though I use this one in the spring/summer and the pure vanilla in the fall and winter. It is my main hand cream for night use and I use it for hands because it works so well; no "cones" which cause awful raised, hard bumps on my skin. La Vanila helped me to rid my hands of this reaction from other hand creams which contained silicones. It moisturizes well without being thick; I have re-purchased and will again.

I like that this product is natural but it is waaaaaay too perfumy! I had to return it to Sephora. I guess I'll just stick with my Caudalie body lotion.

This Vanilla/Grapefruit mix is by far my favourite of the entire line; it smells amazing and not the least bit sickly-sweet or cloying, like I find some vanilla fragrances to smell. The lotion goes on very smoothly! My only complaint is that the fragrance doesn't seem to last very long, so I have to carry the large squeeze tube around with me if I want to reapply.

The Grapefruit in the body butter is significantly more evident than the hint of it you get in the EDP. So basically if you want more grapefruit I would suggest layering the EDP with this body butter. I love the texture of it, the smell is heavenly, and it lasts all day. The next one I am trying is Vanilla Coconut and I hope it can be as awesome as this is!

Boy, I really wanted to like this. I love vanilla smells and I like how grapefruit was paired with this. It smelled really good on my skin and I usually can't carry vanilla notes on my skin. It is chock full of vitamins and a goji berry extract. The formula is light, but satisfyingly moisturizing since it's shea based. Unfortunately one of the ingredients made my skin break out in small red bumps on my upper and lower arms, stomach...so terrible. I really like this organic line and will stick with the body washes which are simply divine, and try the perfumes instead.

I'm not usually impressed with body products. I just don't understand spending a lot of money for my body when I can use products from target that are just as good. UNTIL...Lavanila body butter. I got it in gratis and it is the perfect texture. It spreads so easily and the moisture is divine. The smell...yum. I also love the body wash.

I purchased this fragrance awhile ago and loved it so much that I decided to go ahead and buy the butter. I think this is the most easily absorbed and moisturizing butter I have ever used. I am also really impressed with all of the natural ingredients in this, I saw that they just came out with a shower gel and can't wait to go buy it so that I can layer, also the butter seems to have a strong fragrance concentration in it so you can definitely get away with just using the butter and not the perfume.

I stumbled upon this gem while shopping at Sephora and was instantly hooked! I love the way the robust grapefruit scent blends with the subtle vanilla notes. I typically wear lotion AND perfume together for a more complete scent, but this body butter can certainly hold it's own. It goes on a bit slick but that dissipates quickly and you're left with a long lasting scent with the right amount of hydration. This body butter is pure enchantment in a lovely tube, if you can get past the price.

I reviewed this fragrance as well and i experienced the same thing with both versions: the grapefruit smell disappears on me and i'm left with a subtle musky smell. it's pretty but very very faint and not worthwhile for me, especially when i love the vanilla coconut so much. the first few moments of it smell delicious though!

This is one of the body lotions/butters I've tried with the longest lasting fragrance. I also tested the perfume, but prefer the body butter. When you first apply this, you get a strong burst of citrus/grapefruit that gradually mellows into a slightly over-sweet vanilla. Feels slightly sticky/heavy initially, but sinks in pretty quick. Nice hydration too, but I wouldn't call this a heavy-duty hydrator.

Wow, what a lovely product. I got this as a gift-with-purchase from Sephora and the sample is actually pretty large. I don't know how true the "health" claims are, but this lotion (and the perfume) are supposed to be environmentally-friendly and free of skin-irrintants. Anyways, I love the consistency of the lotion and I often marvel to myself about how the manufacturers managed to make a formula that is so light and non-greasy but still very moisturizing. The smell is also divine and it reminds me of lemonade and summertime=) The only downside is that the vanilla-scent is not noticeable to me at all... only grapefruit. oh well, still a great lotion.
EDIT (04/11/08) : I've had the sample of this for a few months now, and I have noticed that both the texture and the smell have changed. The lotion used to be runny like a liquid but over time it has hardened. It also does not smell as good as it used to. Maybe the fact that it's natural has made it gone bad? I have lotions sitting around that I bought years ago and the texture/smell have never changed...very strange.

This is lovely, lovely body butter. It's really luxurious and "melty" but not greasy. You must love vanilla to wear this. Somehow it's not overwhelmingly sweet though. I guess the grapefruit cuts it. Love it.

Lavinila's Vanilla Grapefruit fragrance is my HG, and this holiday someone gave it to me with the body butter. At any rate, I wasn't that interested in the lotion really, but I gave it a try last week and can I just say it's amazing. This was a product I didn't really have any expectations in so when I tried it and it just sunk into my skin I was amazed. This is a superior body butter that just totally gets absorbed into your skin and leaves no residue or oill on the top of your skin at all, it's an ideal body butter. I want to also add the fragrance is fabulous, this paired with the perfume just smells amazing. I am so thrilled to now know about this product.

I also have the body butter in Vanilla Coconut, and all 4 of the scents in edp, as well. This scent, and the Vanilla Coconut, are my favourites in the line.
LAVANILA Vanilla Grapefruit starts out with quite a bit of sweet grapefruit when first applied; the vanilla kicks in rather quickly, giving way to a not overly complex, but simply beautiful, scent.
It is all at once a thick, sweet, citrus, and gourmand vanilla.
My husband loves it, and as aforementioned, this is 1 of my top 2 scents(ever!).
Actual notes are:
Grapefruit, Bergamot, Lime, Orange, Cedarwood, Heliotrope, Madagascar Vanilla.
The scent itself is soothing, relaxing; the effect being not a vibrant citrus, but a sweetened, smoky vanilla.
Since this review is for the body butter, I can say that the scent is basically the same in both forms. However, the edp is much longer lasting, and more concentrated. It takes a bit longer to reach the "heart" of the fragrance in the edp. The butter gets right to it.
The butter itself is light, very moisturising, not even CLOSE to being greasy. This is quite possibly the most perfect body butter consistency I've ever used. It also doesn't do that dreaded after effect that many other body butters have done: drying your skin out worse, so that you feel like you need to reapply. My skin STAYS soft and supple with this butter. Fantastic product, and despite the price, would definitely buy again. And again!

I can't believe how silky the La Vanila body butters make my skin. The formula looks thick, but once applied, they slide on so easily and make my skin so soft. I love the scent and am glad that it lasts extremely long on me. Vanilla Grapefruit is fairly true to the name-- there is a vanilla fragrance base with a citrusy grapefruit note to top it off. I just wish they sold bigger tubes of this, even though mine seems to last forever. I'd also like to try the perfume since the scent is so incredible!

YUM - thick creamy, moisture that sinks in and makes you feel soft and smooth for hours after application. this is a body butter i save for special days, as i love it so much and want it to last! i do layer it with the spray (or the roll on) xmas was good to me this year, and i got the body butter, roll on and the spray in this scent and it has become my favorite to use. smells amazing, and the high quality of this body butter is just great.

This is my second favorite of the three. It doesn't have much of a vanilla scent it's mostly a strong grapefruit scent with some strong masculine undertones. After it dies down a bit its a pretty nice scent. Moisturizes pretty well too.

The LAVANILA Body Butters have fast become HG items for me!! The Vanilla Grapefruit is, today at least, my favorite of the three scents - although all of them are divine. The body butters themselves are so decadent and quickly sink into your skin delivery wonderful hydration. Even the driest skin quickly succumbs to the decadent moisturizing properties of this cream. Beautiful ingredients, beautiful feel on the skin, and of course, beautiful fragrance that will linger for hours past application ... I just love them -- really can't give praise high enough for these glorious wonders! Gotta try 'em!

Wow, this product is just lovely. Smells amazing (and the smell lingers, in a good way), reasonably priced. I don't think the lotion is particularly moisturizing, but that's my only gripe. Layer it with the rollerball perfume, and you'll smell amazing all day!
