I actually quite like this product to help my nails replenish and get back to a healthy state after a couple weeks of nail polish (I let my nails breathe once a week, fyi) and I liked that this doubled as a base coat as well, but I was so disappointed when my first bottle was kind of thick. I know this is a flaw of the drugstores in Hong Kong where they put the bottles under warm lights, so I got a second in a value pack. It started out really nicely, but then before I even got halfway of the second bottle, it started becoming thick again. The brush becomes sort of clumped with thicker polish and it doesn't spread. I'm so sad. This product is amazing when it first started out, but no matter how tight I screw it and keep it in a cool place, it just turns thick :(
Great product, but it doesn't stay fresh long enough to serve its purpose well. I've wasted my money on a third of a good bottle of nail treatment.

Tried this treatment off a recommendation from a friend, overall it has noticeably strengthened my flaky nails. However, after getting a third of the way through the bottle the rim is now covered in flaky dry polish which has fallen back in and makes it difficult to apply without ending up with a lumpy looking finish.
Contrary to other reviews I don't think it's possible to wear this on its own, although the colour is a natural looking pink the finish is a strange grainy looking matte which does not make my nails look healthy at all.
With regular applications over a period of time I have also now noticed the product is gradually staining my nails yellow.
Overall although the polish does work as a nail strengthener the "side effects" outweigh this and I will not be repurchasing.

In addition to being very satisfied with this product I wish to share something amazing that I recently accidentally discovered. For the past 5 years my nails would hardly grow and the tips would chip and disintegrate. The Post Trauma Nail Treatment helped a bit, but around two months ago I began taking 1 Tablespoon of pure organic coconut oil in a cup of hot water [with sweetener], twice a day (first thing in the morning and at night before bed) for general health reasons and lo and behold, after a about a month, my nails stopped splitting and actually look very nice. Unless you are allergic to coconut oil, I highly recommend trying this product.

This is the first nail treatment that actually works for my dry, brittle nails. It also fills in nails ridges, which I have never had any product do. Amazing product.

Not only is this an amazing base coat, but it looks beautiful on its own. Bouts of eczema on my hands along with some autoimmune issues have left me with nails in a terrible state. Not only are they weak and flaky, but my health problems have caused pitting and ridges in most of my nails. One coat of this greatly reduces them, and two coats eliminates all imperfections. It dries to a lovely pale matte pink, which looks natural and clean if worn alone. I really like this as a base coat too though, with my favorite top coat (INM's Out The Door) I can easily get 5-7 days out of a mani. Since using this, I haven't had any breakage or flaking on even my most problem nails. I hope with continued use my nails will start to grow at a normal pace again, and maybe one day I'll be able to have long nails. The only gripe I have is that the product is difficult to get to after about half the bottle is gone, but since it's pretty affordable (under $5 at Walmart), I guess I can live with that.

While I haven't noticed any improvement in my nails over time from using this, as a polish/base coat I rather like it. It makes nails look healthier, fills ridges, and gives them a clean manicured appearance. The lasting power isn't great, and it melts a little on hot days (~30 degrees Celsius), but I will repurchase this when I run out.

This did improve my nails, but I don't like the application.
Pros: My nails did look and feel healthier from using this. They don't peel and they feel a bit stronger. It has a nice color when I wear it by itself. It's like a light sheer pink color that's matte.
Cons: It goes on a bit streaky. I hate the brush. I tried several times to make it look good but it doesn't go on very smoothly. The polish turns really sticky very easily. And when I got halfway through the bottle, I couldn't reach the polish unless I screwed the cap back on. I will not repurchase.

I absoulutely love this nail treatment (aka base coat). I found it at Walmart for less than $5.00 so decided to give it a try.
My nails were breaking a little so I decided to try it for that reason. First of all, I love the way my nails look so mooth and perfect with just one coat. They look so matte and natural, love it. This is one of the best nail treatments/polishes I have bought in a long time!

My HG nail polish. Blurs out the ridges and pockmarks on my nails while drying fast and leaving my nails a natural milky pink. I use one coat if it's my base coat and two coats if it's the only thing on my nails.
By dries quick, I mean 2-3 hours with no fast dry top coat. It's dry to the touch in 2-5 minutes but if you let sharp objects touch it, it will leave smudge marks or indents.
Price is $8-9 a bottle. Pricy considering it's Revlon but it does go on sale.
Packaging gets a 3 because when I'm halfway through the bottle the brush has trouble reaching the product.

This treatment has SAVED my nails. I was on a press-on nail kick for a while and used Nailene Super Glue to keep them on. Boy, does that stuff work. Unfortunately, I got tired of my nails after about two days and began the horrible process of tearing them off. I know, "Soak your nails in polish remover. DO NOT peel them off..." I can't stand waiting for things.
Of course, this came back to bite me and absolutely wrecked my already weak and peeling nails. I'm lucky they didn't come off all together. Anyways, I purchased this stuff and put on two coats. It has a very nice color to it and looks nude on my nails. It has a bit of a matte finish which I like.
I took the treatment off 4 or 5 days later to find that my nails had drastically improved. It filled the ridges, fixed the dryness and peeling and made my nails a bit sturdier. I have been using it as a base coat since, and my nails look better every time I remove my nail color. My nails are healthier, and the treatment gives them a just-buffed look. I would highly recommend this product. If you like nude nail polishes, try this! With a topcoat it can be a polish and treatment in one.

This nail treatment has hardened my nails up and filled my ridges. It dries really fast too. I get a streaky cloudy white kind of finish on my nails, it looks like my cuticles are infected and are secreting pus. Though that sounds really nasty, I'm not a very picky girl so I don't really mind the look and since it said nail treatment I didn't expect this to do anything for how my nails look. I would definitely repurchase this.

I just started with this for about a week. After only one application, I noticed my nails look and feel harder. The top surface appears smoother. I am a life-long nail biter and my nails are in quite bad conditions. I like the light pink matte finish and i use it as a base coat. Although i think using it alone would almost give me a french manicure-like appearance. I will keep using it and see how effective it can be. But so far the experience has been quite positive. The bonus here is I bought it on sale for less than $5. Hopefully it wil help improve my nails.
Update: After three months of irregular use, I still quite love it. I tried a few times using it alone and it gives a nice pink matte finish which almost look like a french manicure. But sometimes it can be streaky and hard to spread out evenly. Still, it treats my nails while giving it a nice color too. I also think a bottle will last me a long time. Definitely still loving it.

after getting my fake nails taken off, i have ridges for the first time in my life, which lead me to this product. i don't like the matte finish but do wear it as a base, so it helps.
it does fill ridges except for the very deep ones but they make those less noticeable, too. i do not expect miracles (i believe healthy eating and not getting damage like i did to mine help the best!) but this does its job.

After trying every product out there - OPI Nail Envy, Barielle, etc. - and no success for my dry, thin, peeling nails (they've completely gone to crap since I turned 45. And in my younger days I used to work as a hand model!) I thought I'd give this a shot. Once again, I was convinced by the 95 percent positive rating here.
After a month, if anything I think that this product made my nails worse. OK, let's clarify: They did grow, but they are peeling even worse than when I started. So, I have slightly past my fingertips, brittle nails that break off if I so much as reach into a drawer. (I had to file 3 of them down to nubs again today).
The product has a matte finish that is very unpleasant. The sheer pink over my yellowish nails, combined with the matte finish, makes my fingernails look like an old woman's toenails. It also *feels* very drying....I don't feel my nails getting any more flexible or thick, just dried out like the sahara.
The best thing I can say about this is that, unlike every other highly rated nail product I've tried, at least it only cost in the single digits ($7 at Ulta), not close to $20 like I usually end up getting suckered in for.

In my quest for the perfect nail hardener, anti peeler, grower i have tried every essie, opi, nailtique, garlic nail, calcium nail miracle nail, nutra nail repair, all of the sally hansen line, high end , out there. Let me say this, the absolute best was LoreAL'S GROW STRONGER, why they quit making this is beyond me, it work wonders, It was my HG - i even wrote loreal begging them to bring it back, but no dice!
That being said, Avon's Nail protein is excellent but you have to try it for 2 weeks, only one coat a day to see results, Revlon post trauma is great too. I am currently using Avon's nail protein first, let it dry, then i add Revlons post trauma. this will last for about a week. If I am in the mood, a shiny clear to go on top. Best my nails have looked in years, look like a natural french manicure

Got this on sale after my nails started getting brittle and would chip easily. I have been using it for about eight months, and it has certainly improved the condition of my nails. I like how natural it looks on it's own, however I have noticed that my nails have started yellowing a bit. I don't wear polish on my hands often, other than this nail treatment, so this is a bit discouraging.

Best nail treatment I have yet used.
I have thin weak nails that break, flake, peel, tear and generally fall apart. Dry cuticles and major hang-nail issues. Plus off-and-on lifelong biting. I do prefer them short anyway, for practical and work reasons, but they are still pathetic and unappealing.
The cuticle situation has improved with regular rubbings of olive oil or shea butter. I'd previously used OPI Nail Envy, various Essie things, and plain clear nail varnish (numerous brands, high and low). Without much success. Let alone dramatic improvement. Revlon Post Trauma, though: dramatic. I have nails again, don't need to sit on my hands in meetings etc., and they feel strong.
Application: one coat a week for two weeks, removed (and hands soaked in oil) at the end of the fortnight, reapplied.
Post Trauma goes on easily, smoothly, no bubbles or streaks (clean dry nails). Matte. Nail-colour on me, pale pink. Smooths ridges and other discontinuities nicely.
I can see how this might also work as a good base, but I happen to prefer a clean/natural nail.
In drugstores, cheap, Big 3-free, cruelty-free.

I hate to be the one to bring down this products' ratings, but this "treatment" did absolutely nothing for my nails. Also, if applied on its own, it has a very non even finish, is extra prone to air bubbles, and gives the nails a matte look, whereas I tend to opt for something that gives my nails a shiny look. I also did not notice the strength of my nails going up or down depending on whether I used this product. Won't buy again.
