This is a really nice foundation. I put it on in the morning and it stays on all day, you just need to moisturize before putting it on, even if you have oily skin. It's an okay price, but it's certainly worth the money.

This product is really amazing. Almost too amazing. I applied it at 12:15 PM and at 9 PM, the only hint of shine/oil I had was a bit on my nose. I also used just a bit of loose powder all over my face. A huge triumph as normally with my various L'Oreal products, my nose, cheeks, chin and forehead would be an oil slick.
I bought this in Eggshell and it is a bit too dark but I think it's workable. I don't have to worry about it oxidyzing and turning orange. It has a true matte finish and it felt like I wasn't wearing any makeup. Just by the way it feels on my skin, I can tell it won't break me out. I've tried enough rubbishy makeup to determine that now.
At any rate, love this!

I think this has been discontinued from Origins. I can't find it on their website. I think they replaced it with a mineral-type foundation.

I decided to use the tube I have of Reflection Perfection today . It is supposed to be great for oily skin providing a matte, medium coverage finish. The darkest color that the Origins store carries is Honey, which is a bit too light for my skin. I would say I am on the light side of medium (NC35).

I applied this with a brush in a stippling motion and it was drying too fast to actually blend that well. It sort of dried streaky in some places. I think the best application might be with a damp sponge.

It's not good, but it's not the worst I've tried either.

Wow, I must not be as oily as I thought! This was like a mud mask on my face and made my pores appear enormous! I am generally very oily (have to blot at least 4-5 times a day with most foundations) so I thought this was for me, but this just looked hideous on me. I read so many good reviews here so I thought this would help my oily skin, but I guess I would only recommend this to those who are very very oily. This went right back to the store.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this product yet...I used it for well over 4 years. I have combo-acne prone skin, and this provides a great medium coverage without causing breakouts. It actually has salicylic acid as one of the ingredients, which is great. It also prevents shine, so there's no need for pressed powder mid-day (though blotting papers are sometimes helpful). But most of all, this line has shades that will fit porcelain/fair/light ladies, something that is so hard to find! With this foundation, I don't have to worry about my face looking orange or shiny, it simply evens out my skintone and looks fresh all day. And paired with the Quick, Hide concealer, my skin looks flawless. **UPDATE**: As the years have passed, I realize that the mattifying effect of Reflection Perfection can appear aging. After trying a sample of Lorac's Natural Performance foundation, I switched formulas since it has more of a satin finish (and is a bit more forgiving up-close). But I still think the Origins foundation is perfect for oily-skin in the summertime.

I love this foundation! In the past I mainly used MAC Studio Fix and it doesn't come close to how well Reflection Perfection covers. I have really bad acne and scars and this really covers them up and makes them look like my skin tone and not red. In MAC I am a NC20 and I got Eggshell. It is a bit more orange that I like, but I use Rimmels Pressed Powder (translucent) and it look more natural.

As for oil control, I really like it a lot. I recently went to six flags over texas (in the texas heat) and my makeup didn't melt off like others would have. My skin is very oily and tends to cake my makeup and I look really shiny. With this foundation I get a slight glow several hours into the day, but that doesn't bother me compared to what I use to look like before I used this stuff.

To apply the foundation, I use the brush because I was told that using a sponge over again contains lots of bacteria, so I am trying whatever I can to help prevent my really bad breakouts. Plus, the brush really helps apply the makeup more evenly. It is a work in process to apply the makeup because it dries fairly quickly, but I have been getting better at the application process.

Because it covers so well, it is a bit difficult to take off. I use Alpha Hydrox because it works like a dream. It takes ALL of my makeup off, and it is gentle enough to use on your eyes.

The pros: Extremely good shine control, lightweight texture that feels like you have nothing on, excellent at hiding red blotchy areas, fairly good at concealing enlarged pores, price is great for a department store foundation ($23.00 Canadian), squeeze tube packaging seems more hygienic than open-necked bottles or jars and can be cut open when product is "finished" (allowing you to eke out a few extra uses).

The cons: Lends a somewhat "powdery" finish to the skin, damn near impossible to blend with fingertips (if you are a "low-maintenance" girl be forewarned... this will add extra accessories in the form of brushes and damp sponges to your makeup routine).

All things considered, I think the good points far outweigh the bad, so I give this product a hearty thumbs up. That said, I wouldn't recommend this to someone with dry skin or even combination skin that's on the drier side. This one's for the shiny kids only.

"Reflection Perfection" provides smooth, even coverage over redness and large pores. Stays matte; no oiliness after hours of wear. Definitely needs to be applied with a foundation brush, as product sets quickly.

I have extremely oily skin and this foundation really does help. The first time I used it I wasn't crazy about the coverage (I used my fingers to apply it). Normally I don't like foundation brushes, but the other day I tried applying this make-up with a brush and it looks absolutely amazing! I have acne and acne marks all over my fair skin and this stuff really covers it well and does not melt off during the day. And it hasn't made me break out. My only two complaints would be that it dries way too fast so have to blend quickly and I wish that it didn't smell like anything. The smell isn't bad, but I just like make-up better when it doesn't smell. Also I have really hard to match skin, but I got the "Bare" color and it matches better than any other liquid foundation I've tried. Overall this is a great foundation and I'll be sticking with it for a while.

*UPDATE*: I've been wearing this foundation for a couple months now and I still absolutely love it. My large pores disappear and my skin looks great. I even got told that my skin looked amazing and that has NEVER happened to me before because I have horrible skin. I love this foundation!

TIP: For even better coverage, before I put my foundation on I dust either my Everyday Minerals concealer or foundation all over my face. Then I apply the Reflection Perfection foundation with my brush and it covers everything, and I have a lot to cover!

This foundation was everything I hoped it would be. I have combination skin that goes from looking greasy to flaky dry at the drop of a hat.
My old liquid foundation was making me look really shiny and oily, so I wanted something that would keep me matte all day.
Being that my skin is combo, my fear for this foundation was that it would dry me out too much. Thank God it hasn't. I always wear an oil free moisturizer with SPF under my foundation so this may be why.
I apply it with a makeup sponge and application is super easy. You do have to work quickly and blend well because it does dry fast, but not so fast that it's difficult to work with. I've never had a problem with it drying so fast that I ended up with major streaks.
Most importantly, it does a great job of keeping me matte. I get home from work at night and my skin still looks fresh, as if I just applied my foundation.
It has a nice scent, not overwhelming, and fades after you put it on so you're not stuck smelling foundation all day. The coverage is buildable, and is medium to full. It works great paired with Origins Quick Hide concealer.
I finally found a foundation that I love!!

This is the mattest driest foundation I have ever used. The first time I used it, I was disappointed. As I was blending it on my skin, it was drying faster than the speed of light. I usually I use sunscreen on top of my foundation, I tried it again with sunscreen underneath this foundation, and that was the trick.

If you like/want to use a moisturizer or sunscreen underneath your skin but look like you have nothing at all on, this foundation is the answer. It covers flawlessly-you do have to do it fast, and it stays all day. You don't need too much of it either..
I can't wait to try it this summer, when its hot and humid, and see if it survives all that..

It was 75 degrees outside, somewhat humid. I went for a 20 min run, /i had sunglasses on. This foundation stood the test of heat n sweat, with miniscule creases near where my sunglasses touched my face. I wiped it away flawlessly without ruining any of the other areas of my face. Love it!!!!
They discontinued it!!

I really don't want to give this stuff a bad review, as I generally love Origins, but I'm not happy with this product. I read all these previous reviews and decided to give it a try, for my doomed oily skin, but after 4 hours my T-zone is already shiny. It's not better than other foundations I used before, like LM silk creme, altho it is much cheaper. When you first apply it it does have a matte effect, but it just doesn't last. Too bad.

Great foundation for gals with oily skin! This covers well and helps to keep my skin oil free longer than most other foundations I've used. Does a great job of making enlarged pores invisible, too. Best of all this stuff does not aggravate my acne prone skin!

I absolutely love this product!!! A little goes a long way, love the clean smell, the coverage(medium to full), makes my pores disappear, and lasts all day!!!! I don't know what I would do if they discontinued it. I have fair skin and eggshell is a perfect match...you can't even tell that I have foundation on..just perfects my skin as good as I could get..compared to anything else I've tried anyway. The price is pretty low compared to other high-end foundations as well ($17). The product comes in a squeezable tube which is great for traveling and getting every last bit out. I just use one drop on a makeup wedge for each cheek, nose, chin, and forehead. I follow up with a tinybit of concealer and pressed powder and I'm good to go!!! Origins products have been known to be great for your skin by using natural products from the earth...so you should give this a try if you have problematic skin like mine.

Great for oily skin!!! I have very very oily, acne prone skin. I usually wear Everyday Minerals, which is my HQ foundation, but because of the acne topicals I use my skin can get flaky from time to time. When it does, I use this foundation since powder mineral makeup exacerbates flaky skin.

This foundation gives great coverage while still looking relativley natural. You can build it up to heavy coverage if you need to. Definitely helps hide large pores & conceal acne too.

I apply it with a damp foundation brush & it goes on really nice. The squeeze top makes it easy & clean to use with a brush. I often set it with a light dusting of Everyday Minerals foundation powder which also helps it stay matte.

I have never had a liquid foundation wear this well! It does not streak for me & I blot far less than I normally do. It really helps mattify your skin without looking chalky or cakey. At the end of the day, it is still on my face, which I cannot say for most liquid makeup.

I have had no issues with it breaking me out, although I must note that I don't use it regularly & that the packaging does not say it is non-comedogenic or oil-free.

The color I use is Linen. I have fair olive toned skin which is hard to match. This is a great neutral color that works very well for me.

my HG foundation!!! I have very oil skin on my t-zone. this is the best oil-control foundation out there! Doesn't breaks me out, great coverage, keeps the shine away for hours, and in the end of the day, my face still gets very oily, but not the mirror-shine kinda oily, but more of a dewy glow... Only minus, not available in sweden where I live, and very hard to find on ebay as well, so I stock up when ever I can!

Yuck yuck yuck. This junk...gosh. I'm so upset. I told myself I wouldn't buy liquid foundation anymore as I'm in love with mineral makeup, but as my UD Surreal Skin just finished, I started looking around for something new. My skin is okay other than redness and broken capillaries around my nose, but it's quite oily because it's summer. So, a mattifying foundation seemed like a good idea. Plus, I was jonsing to try a foundation brush. =P So I got matched at 03 Linen. It looked good on my jawline, so I bought it along with the brush. When I tried it out the next day, it looked good...until I noticed it was more orange on my nose. I buffed it with a ton of powder and it looked super cakey, but wearable. I went to work. When I did a makeup check, I saw it was all gross and patchy. When I tried a lighter application the next day, the same thing happened! And it didn't even look nice. Agh. Took it back and plan on ordering some Everyday Minerals.
