I purchased this online at a dramatically reduced rate so when it arrived in the post and seemed a little dull I couldn't really complain. Overtime, I have really grown to love this palette. The centre colour was my favourite but has now run out so I happily use the others in the collection. I find the only colour that doesn't really suit me is the shimmery, pink pearl shade, it's too cool, but I'll occasionally use it in my brow bone. All the other shades really compliment my skin tone and allow me to create a great every day natural yet glam eye. I will repurchase even at a standard, non-reduced rate.

Meh. The colors of this palette looked very promising on the Sephora website. I debated between this and Ibiza, but Ibiza looked more like things I already own (not that it usually stops me from buying it!) so I went for this one. The shadows are a nice consistency and apply smoothly, but without much pigment. Over, the palette is just plain boring in its range. I love neutrals for the eyes, I just wish any one of the colors would have stood out for me. Have you ever eaten lucky charms cereal, and even though all the pieces are different colors, they all just tasted the same, and it is confusing because, well, orange doesn't taste like red? That is what I feel like with this palette. All the colors sort of looked alike on application. Overall, very disappointing.
This is also supposed to be limited edition, however it has been on Sephora's website for about 8 months now (as of today, June 9, 2008)
I would try another palette from Cargo, I just did not care for these particular colors.

I bought this beucase I love neutral, shimmery shadows and wanted a paletted I could take travelling. I was disappointed by the pigmentation. The shimmer is also not as nice as MAC's Frost or Veluxe Pearl shadows. On my NC35 skin, the darkest shade is barely useable as a contour once I pack it into the crease. The pale pink highlight shade is nice, but has no lasting power. This would probably be a very lovely palette for someone with lighter skin - just not me.

My first Cargo eyeshadow-I may have found my favorite neutral day to night eyeshadow palette. I am a klutz when it comes to applying makeup, especially eye makeup, so I look for sheer, soft, blendable eyeshadows that are forgiving with my lackadaisical application. The pretty, soft colors attracted my attention at Sephora, and the amount of shadows you get seemed like a relatively good buy. My favorite shade is probably the peach with the slightest shimmer, which I brush over my entire eyelid and it wakes me up. I sweep on the darkest shade, on the left, in the crease. I then apply the righthand medium shimmer brown over half my lid, and dust the center shade, the most sparkly, on top of that and finish with highlighting my browbone with the frosty pink shade on top. My eyes look awake yet the makeup look is really subtle. The shades complement my warm yellow skin tone, and while they'd be hot as summer shades, I bought this too late, but I think it's neutral enough to wear into fall. Coupled with brown eyeliner and mascara, my eyes look really good, and my friends even noticed the difference. Overall effect is subtle enough to wear to work, and you can add some more of the center "jewel" shadow to add more shimmer pizzaz at night. The sheen, shimmer and sparkle has varied intensity thanks to the fine milling, which I've realized is the difference from the drugstore stuff. Before this, I was using Neutrogena Shimmer Sheers, but they're not as pigmented or subtle in shimmer. I'm going to play around with mixing it with other shadows.

I picked this up at Sephora after mourning the loss of my fave Cargo eyeshadow, Bermuda -- the stupid tin dropped and it broke, becoming unusable. :-( Paradise Island has very pretty colors, pink highlighters and bronzey washes, similar to Bermuda's color. I love the packaging (not a tin! Yay!), and for $28 you get a pretty decent amount of shadows. Cargo's eyeshadow quality is excellent, no creasing or fading, and if I was rolling in the dough (which I'm not!), I'd definitely pick up another one of these! They appear to be marked "Limited Edition" on Sephora.com too. (Note: I previously thought this product was called Ibiza before double-checking and correcting my review. Oops!)

This product did the impossible: it made me enjoy brown eyeshadow. Usually, I dislike browns. (They seem like dirt or mud around my eyes.) But these are quite different. This palette has a rosy undertone that lights up my eyes. No heavy, dirty, drab look. Just a glow that is pretty, fresh, and appealing. Great for summer, softly neutral for fall.
You get five colors:
Top: Light rosy pink. Highly frosted with a touch of iridescence. Gives brow bone a gleam that's just right.
Bottom: Light fleshy peach. Not frosted/glittered, yet not truly matte. A "satine" finish, perhaps? Has a soft muted sheen, useful as highlighter shade.
Middle: The "jewel in the crown", a luscious light brown with a mauve undertone. Very frosty, it imparts a lovely gleam that's not hard or harsh.
Right: A somewhat deeper cocoa brown. Lightly frosted, nice in crease or on lower lid.
Left: The darkest color, a deep bronze brown, also lightly frosted. I smudged this around lashline.
Shadow quality is good, nice texture, easy blending, sufficient pigment.
Only possible complaint: compact is tricky to open. I learned to slide my nail under the ledge in front to pop it up.
Thank you, Cargo, and please keep 'em coming. How about a palette with soft rose, mauve, muted lavender, plum? Can't find these colors anywhere. I'm standing right here with my charge card, dreaming of more, more, more!!

I have a stable of eyeshadows just waiting to be used, but somehow, I can't ever be lured away from another pretty neutral. I used to be all about bright colors and smokey eyes, but these days, I'm all about the neutrals. If you like neutrals, check this out!
There are 5 eyeshadows arranged in a clear plastic container (for packaging's sake, I love that this is clear b/c the regular Cargo e/s come in that tin pot, and it's hard to see the color w/out opening it) and retails for $28, which is a steal, considering that Dior and Chanel quints and quads (respectively) are over $50 each.
Sephora describes the colors as:
rose shimmer, burnt rose shimmer, soft bronze shimmer, sheer peachy-opal sheen, and rose-brown shimmer, but the rose color does not have shimmer. Each one look fabulous on its own as a sheer wash, blended together, or if you pick 2-3 and use them on lid/crease/browbone.
I've been reaching for these for the last 3 days, which says a lot for me. I would definitely repurchase, and I recommend to anyone looking for nice neutrals. Cargo has really re-instated itself among my fave brands.
