Gorgeous rose-gold-peachy-pink color. Blends easily and looks great alone which is nice! It also seems to look good on nearly any eye color. A little goes a long way. Very pigmented and smooth.

Melon is a gold colour with an obvious rosy peach hue to it. it initially applies in lots of little specks, but once blended onto the lid with a flat brush over primed lids, and built up a little, eventually becomes a much more condensed, opaque pearlescent colour, with dare i say, a little gold/pink duochrome and some extra speckles left over. so it's this beautiful, unique, subtly stunning colour. it warms up the face wonderfully and i enjoy wearing it most with pinks, reds, browns and purples in the crease. MAC's 'Red Brick' eyeshadow especially, is also a sneaky way to really quickly warm up the colour in seconds!
now onto some other things about Melon. when i first bought this, it was actually a regret for me, because i was expecting an intense metallic kind of pigment that would wow at first swipe. but as i have discovered with MAC pigments in general, each pigment is so unique in how it can look its best on you. once i started experimenting with Melon and applying more of it on the lid, inner corners, lower lashline etc. i just fell in love.
FYI i also tried applying this wet, which i found went on much less shimmery, but made it more of a block of colour. i personally favour this applied dry on me. this also has quite a minimal amount of fallout compared to some other pigments. i always lean my head back whilst applying pigments anyway, so any fallout will just fall back on the lid if that makes sense. obviously with a hand-held mirror lol. not just aim and hope for the best ;)
also, if you dislike warmer colours on your eyes then this is perhaps one to avoid.
i definitely recommend trying this! it might just become your favourite.

I love this product. I love the new packaging. It is smaller and it better for storage. This product is slightly expensive, it's $21. For the amount of product you get, how long it lasts and how multipurpose it is, I say it's completely worth it! I love using it simply with some fix + and all across my lid with some liner and mascara but it is also beautiful once your eye makeup is fully done and this just topped right in the center of the lid over the shadow, it really makes it so beautiful and it a great alternative to shimmery glitter all the time.

Absolutely stunning. Golden pink color. I don't think you can get this color anymore... not sure. I have many closed dupes, but nothing that compares.

I LOVE Melon. I use it wet so it shows up a bit better, but it makes my brown eyes pop.

"Melon" is a very versatile color, goes with pretty much anything. However, I am not that fond of loose pigments that's why I haven't reached for this pigment much. It's such a hassle to apply with the powder falling all over the face. I am often in a rush when applying makeup which I think can contribute to my non-fondness of loose eye shadows. However, apart from that little fact this is a very good pigment. Versatile color and excellent quality. In addition, you get a lot of pigment for your money. It will last you quite some time.

Out of the 23 MAC pigments I own, this one is my absolute favorite. The shade is an absolutely beautiful drop-dead gorgeous color that I'll never tire of! It's a shimmery warm coral gold that looks so beautiful both in the jar and on my eyelids.
It applies true to its color on my lids, but it seems like, after reading all the reviews, that this shade shows up as a golden color on darker skintones but true to its color on fair to medium skintones. I have a NC30-35 skintone and this shade applies true to its color.
This can be used for pretty much anything. Because of its gorgeous color, it can be used simply as an all-over-the-lid wash or can be paired with other colors. For Thanksgiving I used this on the inner two thirds of the lid with Cranberry (e/s) on the outer third of the lid and Vanilla (pigment, not e/s) as a highlight. But it can be used for so many other looks, seriously! It's extremely versatile despite how it might seem!
As for the quality, nothing can even compare to MAC pigments. The pigmentation is the absolute best and the staying power is phenomenal. Honestly, I don't need any kind of primer with ANY eyeshadow or pigment from MAC, seriously. But I like to use my Paint Pot in Painterly as a base so that the eyeshadow or pigment has something to adhere to (I have oily double eyelids--I'm Asian).
The price of $20 is VERY. WORTH. IT. You get a jar with 0.15 oz of product. It doesn't sound like a lot, it is. Anytime I get a new pigment, I split them with someone else or sell or sell them (MAC sells empty pigment jars) because I couldn't ever finish a whole jar of pigment in my lifetime. You only need a tiny pinch of pigment per eye due to its incredible pigmentation.
However I don't recommend pigments to those who are new to eyeshadow. These take some getting used to and lots of practice.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Luckily before splurging on the full size of Melon, I requested a small sample of it. I am glad I did! It may be due to my very fair coloring, but it just did not work with my features very well. It looked too orange, and too warm. I fell in love with the copper/warm gold swatches but it did not translate well onto my own eyes.

I also found more fall out with this as opposed to my other MAC pigments so that was also a little disappointing. It's very shimmery, a little bit too much for my liking, at least for day time. I would not purchase, but I would still recommend it to those with darker coloring.

I generally dont go for subtle colors but I am in LOVE with Melon. It is so shimmery but not glittery. It has the most beautiful gold highlight that looks amazing paired with sooo many other colors.

This is a must have for any pigment collection.

I have yet to try a MAC pigment that I don't like. I really love this pigment. It's a beautiful golden orange color. Super shimmery. Doesn't bother my eyes at all. I just generally like it.

I bought this yesterday for $14 at a CCO (cheaper than an eyeshadow!) I could never finish up this entire jar, but a light sweep of this color over urban decay naked eyeshadow is SO gorgeous and perfect for everyday paired with a heavily blended crease.

Love it, I usually put this over Rubenesque paint pot and it comes out, well a Melon-y golden color, beautiful, kinda wish it was a bit more sparkly like Copper sparkle or Rose but that's just me, I'm a total glitter junkie. This is still pretty shimmery and awesome and well worth the money.

I am glad that I asked for a sample of this pigment from my local MAC counter instead of purchasing the full size version. I wanted Melon because of the beautiful swatches online and all of the great reviews it has. I was hoping to wear this shade to brighten my eyes during the day, but it just did not work for me. On my NC42-44 complexion, it really just looks like a lot of chunky gold glitter on my eyes. It looks nothing the way it does on my eyelids like the way it swatches or looks in the jar. There is none of the red/copper tone to it. Not going to purchase!

Overall I am not incredibly impressed with this shadow, as I find that it's very reddish looking on me. I also need to layer it on with a brush carefully to avoid fallouts in my eyes. I do find the gold color very very pretty, but I wish there was less of the pinkish tone. It gets frosty really easily, so I have to blend it out, but when I do, my crease looks swollen. :( I cannot give it a stellar review, but I find that if I use bronzer this pigment make a very good highlight for my (lacking) cheekbones.

I bought this a couple of uears ago and i am still using it. A little goes far. Also the colour is more like a gold on me i am an NC40/42. I use this with Mac Goldstone the two match very well. Although use with a light hand as it does show up quite a lit and dont forget to wear primer so it stays in place.

I like this color, works well with browns and bronzy es, great to highlight inner eye corner, or even browbone. I am not crazy on pigments in general, a bit too messy to work with, this is the only MAC pigment I have, and it will last me a long time.

I honestly expected this to be a more melon colour on my skin tone... but its a very interesting gold colour on my eyelids. A nice colour, regardless, but I was looking for a melon and not a melon-y gold.

Gorgeous colour!!! It is a coppery-bronzey-peachy-corally-gold. :) This is great for everyday makeup for people that still like to have neutral makeup but to make it a little less boring. I also blend a soft dark-brown into my crease with this. This will also work great for the evening if you added some darker colours (to the crease and as liner). Awesome product!!

By far, the best pigment ive ever tried! Its not one where it's basically just sparkles and a bit of a sheen. It's a metallic coral color that looks gorgeous on the center of your lids. If your daring during summer or fall, all over the lid is cute too! Shows up 100% and doesnt lack in the pigmentation area. way better than UD and NYX! a little pricey, but will last forever.

I just got a sample of this in a swap and I'm in love! This is everything I wanted MAC rubenesque (however you spell it) paint pot to be! It's a true peach gold that's not bronze or orange and just looks like heaven on the eyes! The texture is great, finely milled and doesn't fly everywhere or have fall out like a lot of mac pigments do..extremely impressed by that! I will be looking for a pressed version of this or another sample/vial.

oh and you can use it as a cheek highlight because it's not chunky or glittery..love!
