I've used Sudocrem all my life; on my bum as a baby, on my spots as a kid, and on my winter eczema. It really is amazing. It's so inexpensive and whilst it's not marketed as a beauty product, they should really look into doing that! I'd never dream of rubbing it all over my face - it's thick and oily and would surely clog the pores of anyone even remotely acne prone, but if you apply it to the affected area it's seriously good. If I get a spot, be it in its developmental stages or a fully fledged monster, putting this stuff on it gets rid of it in what's often as little as a few hours. It has an anti-inflammatory in it which sorts out the redness and pain, it also has zinc for healing, and alcohol for anti-bacterial purposes. It doesn't sting and has a lavender scent to it. I really can't bang on enough about this stuff. Doesn't give me a rush when I pick it up in the drug store, but it really does the job. Might I add that it's excellent for sunburn, too. I also use it on my legs after waxing and on ingrown hairs after I've treated them.

Yikes! I have a friend who swears by this stuff, so I figured I would give it a shot, especially since it's so incredibly cheap. NOPE. I am now experiencing the worst breakout I've ever had in 10+ years of consistently bad skin. I've learned over the years never to jump right in and slather a new product all over my face, so I used just a little bit as a spot treatment on a few little pimples that had popped up. I tried to give it a good two weeks, but clusters of cystic acne just started erupting around the initial application areas! It's really, really weird (and super painful). I've never had a reaction like this!

I read somewhere that this contains mineral oil, so if you know you're sensitive to mineral oil then definitely steer clear of this. Really bummed, this stuff was so cheap and smelled really pleasant! Jealous of those for whom it worked!

Sudocrem is marketed in the uk as a nappy rash product which is ok as such, have used on my little girl and it is fine however on burgeoning spots it is quite the giant killer. Should you feel a spot furrowing its way up up onto the surface of your skin and you have no serum/ spot-on to hand then it is quite handy at stopping them in their tracks and reducing redness and size of potential boil. It is cheap and effective. Usually use liz Earle super skin concentrate on spots and it is great but when have run out I reach for sudocrem as have plenty round the house and it is actually really rather good as a stand by until I purchase more liz Earle from John Lewis. No burn, no irritation, no dry patches and it so inexpensive. Feel my usual spot stuff kills spots quickly and sudocrem way lays spots so not quite as effective but massively cheaper.

I'm not actually crazy about this product. The one thing I really do like about it is the fact it stopped my skin from feeling itchy (which a lot of cream don't) however I find this cream can make my skin feel painfully sore instead. It does tone down the redness but leaves my skin feeling flaky and dried out. The white cast of the cream does get onto my clothing if i'm not careful. I would describe this product as average rather than anything truely amazing but never the less worth a try for the price.

As a 16 year old, I have a lot of acne around my forehead and struggle with not picking them. This means that I every day I apply foundation just to stop the embarrassment of having red patches around my forehead. I've always used sudocrem for rashes, Scarsdale eczema on my back but it just never crossed my kind to apply sudocrem before foundation almost as a moisturiser in itself. It is fantastic, it immediately helps the redness and calms my spots down. As a teenager I shouldn't be applying make up to my skin everyday so this is working fantastically as I can just have a natural look from now on. Plus the pots last forever!

I love this stuff! I had 2 big-ish spots around my chin which were driving me crazy and I put Sudocrem on it and they were so much better the next morning. They didn't vanish completely overnight but they had shrunk a lot (the and after the second night of using this they were gone. It also works on bleeding spots but not on blackheads (for me anyway). As other reviewers have said, this stuff does get everywhere and you might want to tie your hair back when you use this because if it gets in your hair it makes it greasy. When you put it on it feels really oily and disgusting but the results are worth it. Plus, it's cheap so you might as well give it a try.

I have always had a pot of sudocrem on hand, basically because it's great for everything!
Burns, bites, rashes etc.
I have had bad skin for as long as I can remember from the age of 12 and I'm 21 now. Iv'e been using sudocrem every night on blemishes and on scars and it truly has worked wonders for me.
Don't expect miracles overnight, continue to use it each night and you will hopefully see results like I did.

Given that this product wasn't even orginally designed for acne, it's brilliant.
If I'd reviewed this just after I started using it, I would have been raving. The very first night I used it, it transformed my huge, red spots into tiny pinkish bumps. I was so pleased. I continued to get these amazing results for about two weeks.
After that, however, it was almost like my skin *got used* to the product, and it no longer had any effect on it. It was good while it lasted.
On top of this, it's very, very messy. Your sheets, your pillows, your pyjamas, everything, will be COVERED in this stuff.
I'd recommend using this once or twice a week. Probably, if you do that, your skin will still continue to respond to it and you can have all the amazing benefits for a long time.

I bought a tub of this earlier this year for my acne spots and stopped using it as it didn't seem to really be working. Recently I started applying EVOO to my skin and then a thin layer of Sudocrem and that seems to be the best thing. The zinc really dries out my skin so I have to apply it over a moisturizer. Last week I was suffering from a horrible hormonal breakout all over my face and oil with Sudocrem over it calmed everything down, it was amazing! Still working with this to find the perfect moisturizer/oil to Sudocrem ratio. Giving this a 4 as it is very drying.

It's been a long time since I first tried sudocrem to treat my acne, I shrugged it off as one of Mums words of wisdom and didn't really give it a second thought until the past week or so. After using a toner and moisturiser (both TBS both tea tree) I slapped a little on my blemishes in the hope that they would take the red day glow beacon that was my face and calm it down a little. I then applied a little lavender oil over my blemishes and went to bed. To my absolute delight I woke up for the first time in months with blemish free skin. Even my scars had faded! This is golden for me, never again will I over look the healing power of sudocrem! It is now a permanent feature along side tea tree and lavender oil in my battle against the blemish!

This is such a criminally underrated product! I think lots of people avoid it because it's so heavy (and made for babies) but whenever my skin is in really bad shape this is my fail safe option. For dry patches that just won't go away this is always what I turn to, I always have a little tube of it about just incase. It is an absolute life saver if you ever get sunburned too! Basically if nothing else works, for redness and dryness sudocrem will fix it.

It was one of those nights when I went to sleep with my face looking like a war zone. My last semester of uni had begun and soon followed a massive breakout that could only be worsened by my bad habit of scratching my pimples. (Horrible, I know). All I was armed with was my trusty Burt's Bee's spot treatment but while it is usually successful in blasting the newly evolved sphere of puss, this was no good for the already detenated mines on my face.

Okay, I'll stop with the graphics and get to the point. I heard about sudocrem on this site. After immediately dismissing the idea of putting nappy rash cream on my face (no way!) I picked up a bottle at work and noticed zinc as the active ingredient. In my 9yr battle with acne I had heard of the healing properties of zinc before.

What the hell, I thought. I had spent more money on worse products in the past. I used it as a spot treatment on every scar and pimple on my face. I went to bed with red oozing scars and woke up with only light patches to remind me of the battle I had faced the night before. Old scars? Even they faded, albeit not as immensely. I had applied it on a waxing burn under my chin and it basically plowed away once I wiped my face with a face towel.

Two things are essential to note in my conclusion of Sudocrem and it's effectiveness. Number one, this is now a part of my army in my war against acne scars. Number two, it was not effective in clearing new pimples on the rise. For those beginning stages I will continue to use my trusty Burt's Bee's and leave this for the after effects.

I only wish I had come across this sooner, my face is as soft as a baby's bottom. Thank you Sudocrem.

NC25 Chinese, cystic acne along the jawline in the past year.

A very kind swapper sent me a sample of this, so I tried this this on half my jawline on one side of face and acne.org treatement on the other half (what I've been using successfully for the past month, as well as cutting out dairy).

So about 4 days in, as I am showering, I ran my fingers along my jawline... Bumpity bumpity bumpity... then smoooooooth. Sudocrem side was doing nothing to prevent or minimize the acne and that side of the face was significantly different than the acne.org side. So a fail for my cystic acne. Give middling rating b/c it's probably great as that diaper rash cream. :)

I used to like this alot but recently I've gone off it. It's good for sunburn much better than aloe vera.
I did get spots on my chin which can be a nightmare so putting this on reduces the redness alot whilst calming down the skin. It's not a miracle product and doesn't work over night but a few days it really does work for the skin :)
it's cost effective and moisturising. My skin has cleared up I don't know how or why but when I had bad spots I used to use this underneath make up as it's so white it needs covering in the day.

I have tried almost every acne cure and i can say that sudocreme helps me I get very painful cystic acne on chin area and have had several creams tablets etc from doctors but what I find helps is applying a sudocreme mask when skin flares up it soothes the spots and helps get rid of them quicker! I also have been taking zinc tablets and can't recommend them enough taking one tablet daily has helped so much, I haven't gave sudocreme full marks as I feel the cream is to thick and can only wear this at night as makes you look to pale as is very thick and white to wear during day! Other than that I can't fault it! Used it on cuts and grazies, rashes, it does help heal and soothe very quickly, was great when I had a bad burn from curling irons I couldn't get enough of it then it cooled the burn down and helped heal the wound very quickly, there's so much uses great for dry painful skin also not just for babies bums!

AWFUL on my blemishes. Made them worse. Sore, bigger and more breakout around the affected area. I have very sensitive skin, dry in places, oily in places and I used to have bad acne (so my skin is combination to say the least!) and this has never worked - stay clear if you have very sensitive skin or are prone to breaking out.
This is brilliant for burns but realistically I don't get burnt much. Will not re-purchase as I'm sure this will last me forever as I wont need to use it.
