very nice when you need a gold or a green or mix of both. i like to pair it with chrome yellow or night light or to use when blending old gold and other colors together. very pretty can be used sheer or dramatic. worth the pretty price tag. although mine broke into a million pieces i will salvage...

I got this yesterday and immediatley thought it was going to be awful, When i applied it dry it was far too sheer, hardly noticable and flaked all over my face and left glitter everywhere!. I thought i had just wasted £12.
Then i decided to try this wet over my UDPP and WOW! This totally tranformed into my HG green, The colours popped and were very pigmented also you dont even need to blend much to get great results with this. The colours seem to blend into an golden olive green with a bit of lime to it. Very pretty.
My only gripe was that mac online told me i was getting a 3.2g jar but actually it was 2.2g so i wasnt too happy about that.

I'll never run out of this which is why I've said I won't repurchase. This is a neat, burnished goldy green color when applied and I feel that it has the best texture and color payoff of all the MES duos. I bought four of these duos, and this is one I've decided to keep- I don't really have anotther color completely like it, so I'll hang on to it. As I've said in my other MES reviews-- these are so pretty they're hard to pass up, but do keep in mind that the "mineralized" nature of the shadows lends them to being incredibly sheer.

The texture of mineralized e/s released w/ Flashtronic collection is smooth w/o chunky glitter particals and fall out is minimal. While previously released mineralize e/s w/ Rococo collection had a smoother texture w/ no visible glitter, they lacked the pigmentation that this have, the ones released w/ A Muse collection had horrible frosty texture and chunky glitter and shadow particles which created fallout most of the time.
Tectonic e/s that i have, has pistachio, bronze, gold and dark green veins and because the veins are not too thin i can use the colors separately.
When swriled together the combination of the colors above give you a light greenish golden peachy shade w/ is gorgeous for all eye colors. When used separaty, the golden vein is very similar to Gold Mode pigment from Rushmetal collection, the green is a similar but lighter color of Springtime Skipper e/s from Barbie collection, the bronzey color is a lighter version of Tempting e/s and the dark green veins resemble Velvet Moss e/s.
I especially love using the golden part on the lids, green (mixed w/ bronze) part in the crease w/ Velvet Moss e/s in the deep crease or w/ Gold Mode pigment on the lid w/ bronze part in the crease.
To use veins separately is use 239 brush and mostly used the tip of the brush, to mix colors together is use 217 or 224 brush and swril the brush on the e/s. I always apply it over UDPP and to bring out the colors more and minimize the fall out, i spray my brush w/ MAC Fix+.

i love the flashtronic mineralize eyeshadows, and tectonic is my absolute favourite as i am totally partial to green and gold. the colour goes on a lot lighter than it looks in the pan and is a shimmery greenish gold on the lids. it's a simply amazing brightening eye colour and acts as a lovely base colour for green eyeshadow looks. what i really love about these e/s is that fallout is minimal and the specks are tiny and easy to be gotten rid of, which is a lot more than i can say about urban decay shimmer eyeshadows. anyway, i really recommend this colour as a versatile and gorgeous shade which everyone should get!

I think mine may have a bit too much brown/bronze in it, since it looks a bit muddy on me. And to top it off, these e/s's are VERY shimmery...I notice that if I use a very light hand, then it is very pretty...I can dip into the gold/green swirls and avoid some of the muddiness. I would say that it is important to look at several and not take the first one that the SA gives you...

I have to disagree with all the bad reviews. I have been looking for the perfect green shade, something that will allow me to create a green eye look that compliments my hazel eyes without using 5 different green eyeshadows and this shadow does exactly what its supposed to. The olive green, gold and a touch of brown creates a beautiful shimmery golden green tone and looks beautiful. I put Stila's dark bronze shadow in the crease and finish off with fluidliner in blacktrack and black mascara (never forgetting the eyelash curler of course) and it looks amazing. This looks great with an orange based gloss or a nice nude shade.

I actually have two of these (on accident), but the nice thing is that they're both quite different. I have green eyes with some gold flecks, and this eyeshadow really picks up on the color. I can see how there are mixed reviews because the shadows can vary, but I got some good ones.

This is a great pair for my brown eyes. But like everyone else said, there is too much glitter, which is weird because once you apply the eyeshadow, the glitter falls off & is all over your cheeks & not your lid so why even add glitter into the batch? I use the darker color for my crease. & the rest all over my lid. I wish I got better veining to get those darker colors in there, but nope :( this one showed up better on with penny shadestick, i wish lovestone would show up just as nice. i'd but it again :)

These shadows are pretty crazy. What i mean by that, is based on the one you get, with the various color swirls, everyone is getting a different color. My Tectonic has shimmery olive and gold with a nice chunk of a darker green. That way I can use the darker patch in the crease and outer v, and then brush the whole thing for a softy olive gold shimmer. I paired this with MAC new weed liner and its stunning with my brown eyes. Lasted all day with a base. Limited edition part of the Flashtronic collection released July 2007. Retails for $16.50 and comes in a slightly larger flip top black pot.

Despite the other bad reviews, I have to say I love this color. I do not agree with some of the others. This has excellent staying power, use a primer or a paint or shade stick as a base and it stays on all day. Using a damp brush to apply helps contol the pieces falling on your cheeks, and helps make the colors pop. It's not that hard to take a cotton ball after you are done and brush off any little flecks that fell off. It's worth it...very shimmery gold/green army colors. Looks great! Try it.

I'm not an MAC groupie, but the Flashtronic collection really impressed me. I have a weakness for the mineralized eyeshadows and skinfinishes. I just love anything that is marbleized... makeup, paper, books, etc. Tectonic in the pan looks a lot like military camouflage. It's a thoroughly sparkly green/gold hybrid with different shades of green, bronze and gold swirled together. There is a LOT of shimmer in there, as well. The color is really very multidimensional and looks more green or gold depending on the lighting. Tectonic looks great alone on my greenish brown eyes but it looks even better with a purple shadow or eyeliner. The pan is rather large as well and will last forever.

YUCK! I have no idea why this shadow is getting as high of ratings as it is. It is supposed to be gold/green but the green in mine does not come out nearly as much as I would hope. The color itself came out a bit muddy both on my lid and on my hand. I could see how it might be pretty on some people but wow was this ever totally wrong for me! I've never looked so TIRED in my life as when I had this on. The last thing I want is a glittery shadow to make me look tired. That's another thing - out of all the Flashtronic shadows i have tried so far, this was the most chunky and most glittery. Glitter all over my cheeks. Not easy for me to control. So far my least favorite MAC shadow that I have tried was Tempting which I said was similar to an unflushed toilet. Well, if Tempting is an unflushed toilet on me, then Tectonic is an "I got really sick in the toilet" shade. I really hate this shadow so much I should take it back. NC15 with blue-green eyes for reference.

I agree, this shows up really well with a primer and I have not used it without. Goregeous greenycolour that looks amazing with bronze skin! The glitter might seem to be much but once the shadow is on you can't really see it too much.

Beautiful olive green / antique gold, my favorite of the mineralized eye shadows from Flashtronic. Rather neutral, but interesting enough to not be boring. Generous product size, great staying power, and less of the gold glitter than the other shadows from this LE collection.

Especially love the green in this. Great as a wash- showed up pretty well when I used this over primer potion. Definitly a keeper!
