This stuff does not budge! Did not flake for me! the only reason i could see why it flaked is because it does stick to dry lips so make sure to exfoliate before putting this on!
My husband never kisses me while i have any lip product on, but whenever i wear this he knows that he wont be wearing my lip color after! lol
I ate and drank and danced all night and this stuff was amazing! i never had to re- apply!
More than happy with this! and the compact is super easy to just pop in your purse and go!
I have the color 740- pomegranate and it is the perfect color for me! i can not find any color or any formula that is this perfect!
Only bad this is that it is hard to get off at the end of the night! but its worth it in my opinion!

Doesnt transfer initially but does start to come off 4-5 hours later, shortly after lunch. As a reapply the balm tiny flakes comes off :P So doesnt last on me like it does on others. Got this in three different colors, Cerise, Kruger's Biege, & Diane's Tuberose. Its not true to color, so do your research and check out online swatches. I prefer these in 1-3 shades from my natural lip color that way when it shows signs of wear its blends in and its less noticeable. Eating oily food (pizza, fried foods) will affect the performance of this product as it does instruct you to use a oil based makeup remover to remove it.

This is my HG lip color! I'm normally a Chapstic/tinted balm girl but once in a while, I like to have some color on my lips. I've tried other lipsticks/lipcolors out there and I hate when the color flakes off. I decided to try L'Oreal's Infallible in Apricot. Apricot, a coral color was too orange-y on me but it had amazing staying power. It stayed on through drinking & eating.
Since I didn't like the color, I exchanged it for Terra Cotta, a brownish-rosy color, which suited my skin tone much better. Again, the staying power was phenomenal. It lasted though a greasy dim sum lunch date, napkin wipes, and a make-out session. No transfer onto my boyfriend's lips, hooray! Love the packaging. The packaging makes it impossible for the balm and the lipcolor to get separated. Also love the mirror, since I don't already carry a mirror around with me on a daily basis.
Like previous reviewers have said, you MUST let the lip color fully dry before applying the balm. Throughout the day, when my lips get dry again, I just put on some Chapstic.

Insane staying power! Lasts all day - through eating, kissing, etc. No transfer. I have this in Beyonce's red and it's amazing.

This product is nice I like the fact that the stain and gloss come separate. It adds a nice color and gloss to your lips and leaves them soft. It's fairly cheap and has a wide variety of colors. I like the packaging because it's convenient and small. I like this product overall but not my favorite lipstick.

I bought this in shade Unchanging beige for £3. I adore the nude shade but like so many others I have experienced the flaking and clumping. It highlighted every imperfection on my lips. I'll keep trying though as the shade is perfect but I have a feeling it will be getting donated to my friend and my bad experience with thisone makes me reluctant to try other shades.

I love this!!! I had this in the target red for two years or so and used it on and off. Then, I totally forgot about it. A few months ago, I started hunting for a long wear lip product and remembered the l'oreal infallible lip color. So, I went out and bought one, and a few days later, I bought 5 more. These are incredible!
-Lasts forever. I can get close to 8 hours with no fading. However, towards the inside of my lips small cracks start to form on the lines of my lips. But, it is only noticeable if you look closely.
-Easy to apply. With lighter colors, I can get away with one coat.
-Top coat gives the perfect amount of sheen and has a very light scent.
One thing that really bugs me about this product is that the packaging color rarely comes close to the actual color. I've gotten a couple color duds for me because the color is so different from the package.
Removal can be difficult. You have to use an oil based makeup remover and it may take a scrubbing. At first, I used vaseline to remove it but it took so long. Now, I have discovered the best remover for this: aquafina flavorsplash lip balm. I've tried a couple lip balms and other oils but this one works the best. This is how I do it:
1. Dab off top coat and apply aquafina lip balm liberally.
2. Leave on for as long as I have patience for.
3. Wet a cotton ball and wipe lips. The lip color comes right off!
The first ingredient in the lip balm is ethylhexyl palmitate, so you could try various other lip balms with that as the main ingredient.
Try it!

I bought this in Apricot #400 and This colour is PERFECT if you have REALLY light toned skin like I do. It's especially great to pair with bright spring and summer fashions and also brings out the whiteness in ones teeth when one smiles (a definate plus). I also have this in Teaberry (#200) which is a Mauve and another good choice for light skinned individuals. I am so happy with these two that I am DEFINATELY going out to buy some other shades and hope that L'Oreal NEVER stops making this wonderful product!
TIP: Let this product dry for 3-5 minutes and it is utterly BULLETPROOF, easily lasting through 13-1/2 hours at work and beyond with my only adding the clear lip gloss over it and no smears or rings on my cups, glasses or coming off when I do eat. In fact, coming home exhausted, I have occasionally fell asleep without removing my makeup first (bad me) and woke up to find this lipstick STILL perfectly intact 24 hours later after application.
So, whoever said it was bleeding right after application or only lasted 2 hours probably didn't let the undercoat dry completely before applying the clear gloss. And, YES, at LEAST 2 minutes is the NORM for ANY of these long lasting lip colours, BEFORE you apply the clear gloss, so you DO have to wait. patience is the key to the perfect result. However; I have found from years of experience with several brands that 3 - 5 minutes will give you better results with ALL of the long lasting formulas.
And, while I find a LOT of the long lasting formulas good, L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail does hit new highs for long lasting wear that impressed even me, and that is HARD to do. I used to swear by Cover Girl's long lasting, but Infallible trumped Cover girl by several hours of wear with no need for reapplication.
There are some cons or this product would have gotten a solid 5 lippie line up. The shining reflective case that is meant to be used as a mirror is convenient if there is no other mirror around, although somewhat cheap plastic, distortive and; therefore not ideal. Still, better than no mirror at all. Also, I find the applicator for the tint a little clunky and hard to handle so one has to apply carefully in order to get precision control.
The clear gloss in the duo pack NEVER lasts as long as the tint so I use a separate clear gloss at home so that I do not have to use the included gloss except when I am out. That way the gloss lasts as long as the product.
However, In it's price range (about $11.99 at Walgreens or Walmart), L'Oreal Infallible Lipcolor Compact really can't be beat and easily competes with some VERY high end brands costing 2 to 3 or times as much. I; therefore, highly recommend this product.

I won this lipstick in Beyonce Red and I absolutely adore it for theater use. It's the most comfortable long-wear lipstick I have ever found and it really does last. I don't have to worry about smudging it or touching it up while I'm on stage. I just wish that I could test out the colors before buying. They can be a little blah.

The first time I put this on, I thought it was awful and I was prepared to march right back to ULTA to take it back. It balled-up and smeared and looked terrible. But, I gave it another shot and did things differently the second time. You have to treat it like nail polish: you quickly put it on and then you don't move your lips, or let them touch each other, for around 3 minutes until it dries. (Then you follow the lipstick with the moisturizer which comes with it.)
This stuff lasts FOREVER. I take a shower and wash my face and the lipstick is still on my lips!
The color is exactly the same as it is on the package.
The only downside is that it can feel slightly "grainy" and it's drying, so I have to keep applying chapstick. (But, I apply chapstick a million times a day regardless, so I'm not bothered by the fact.)
I like that it covers and stays put, so I don't have to apply a lip-liner. It's basically like painting your lips. I went back and bought two more shades.

I have used at least 6 of the Infallible shades over the past 3-4 years. I could not be happier with this product. At my age, I would expect to have problems with drying or flaking or clumping but this product does none of those things and, while I do apply a lip balm or other moisturizer at night, I do not exfoliate or apply more lip balm before the Infallible lip color. It is true that it does feel dry and uncomfortable for the minute or two before you apply the gloss but after that, it is fine. Never sticky like many traditional lipsticks, or dry - just soft, comfortable and weightless. I never carry it with me during the day because I never have to reapply it regardless of what I eat or drink though granted, I do not eat fried foods. I'll admit that those might affect it since it can easily be removed with cold cream or other oily remover. Best of all, it never smears, runs into fine lines around the mouth or leaves those dreadful lip prints on glasses, cups or napkins. I will keep buying this product as long as L'Oreal keeps making it.

I really like this. I have Rosebud. It is super easy to apply and i actually really like the lip conditioner it comes with! Only complaint is after a while it kind of like bunches up into little balls on your lips. Wierd!

I put this on an hour ago and I already had to reapply it. The first application was ok and it went on pretty even and wasnt too bad. I used the lip balm it comes with and I really liked it.
But after an hour I felt like it was really drying and I use more lip balm ...but then it just got really weird. It started to flake and crease and it just really felt like I had a layer of dead skin on my lips that was coming off. I couldnt stand it anymore so I just rubbed it all off and put on my regular lipbalm.
The color is really nice (i got the lightest pink one). But this just felt really strange on my lips and didnt barely last an hour before it started flaking. Next!

Revlon wins the battle of drugstore longwearing lipsticks with Maybelline at a close second. I have worn two-step longwearing lipsticks for years and liked them. Now every brand makes them and there are so many options! I recently had a horrid episode with the most awesome red (a discontinued Rimmel lippie) so I decided to take a bunch of reds and compare them to see what formula was the best.
My main reasons for wearing long-wearing lipsticks are:
- a defined lipline that doesn’t smudge
- constant color is convenient
- no transfer to objects or to the rest of my face (I must be crazy; I roll my lips around and then find cream lipstick in little stripes all around my chin)
I get the negative effects, which are:
- pilling, peeling, cracking, and flaking
- touch-ups are impossible; you must remove lipstick and reapply
For coloring, I am probably NW-10, wear Chanel BR-10, am pale with very cool undertones, and have auburn hair and blue-green eyes. I chose the reds based on store availability and what I thought might look good on me. I wore them separately and then side-by-side on days I wasn’t leaving the house to see how they compared. I tested the lippies for 10 hours because experience has taught me that if I need the lippie to go past 10 hours, I’m better taking it off and reapplying a new coat.
Application: I figured out I can’t use a lipbrush on these or they freak out. I used a thin, tapered brush to line my lips only and then apply the color with the built-in applicator in one coat that is thick enough to cover opaquely, but no thicker. I never apply in thin layers, because the lipcolor flakes and cracks much more quickly.
Tested were:
- Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor in Forever Scarlet
o the hands-down winner
o easiest to apply: it is thinner, so easier to line and blend the lip in with the line.
o wore the best and the longest (10 hours)
o the best topcoat: this is the only one with a gloss. Balms made the lipcolor look more like cream lipstick, which I liked, but the gloss was far better at covering lines in the mouth and making worn lipstick look fresh
o the best packaging: both parts in one tube, not ugly, workable
o Color: Forever Scarlet pulled a reddish hot pink on me, and I liked it.
o WOULD BUY AGAIN IN THIS AND OTHER COLORS
- Maybelline 24 Hour Colorstay in Keep up the Flame
o close-second
o not as easy to apply as Revlon: thicker, hard to get an even coat, hard to blend lipline in with lip
o wore practically as well as Revlon for as long (10 hours)
o the topcoat isn’t as great as Revlon: this is a balm which looks great when lipstick is new, but can’t hide problems as the day goes on
o the packaging needs improvement: the balm and lipcolor are in one tube, but the balm falls out.
o Color: Keep up the Flame appeared to be a dark red with some blue and brown, but it was too dark and brown on me. My husband asked why I was wearing purple lipstick, so maybe it was purple, too. For a color that dark, my coloring needs a true plum.
o WOULD BUY AGAIN BUT ONLY IN DIFFERENT COLORS
- L’Oreal Infallible Lipcolor in Beyonce Red
o third place
o easy to apply
o flakes immediately but can only wear for 3-4 hours without the flaking becoming a serious issue
o topcoat is okay: this is a balm and can’t hide problems
o packaging is okay but ugly: the balm and the lipcolor are housed in this weird container.
o Color: Beyonce Red wore as a true red on me. I liked it, but it wasn’t anything special.
o WOULD ONLY BUY AGAIN IF I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE COLOR AND WOULD WEAR IT FOR 3 HOURS MAX. I’LL PROBABLY NEVER BUY AGAIN.
- Cover Girl Outlast All Day Lipcolor in Ever Red-dy
o last place for sure
o difficult to apply
o doesn’t flake right away, but flakes an outrageous amount at 3 hours
o topcoat okay, basic balm
o packaging annoying with two separate tubes
o Color: Ever Red-dy wore as a true red on me, maybe a bit less blue than L’Oreal’s Beyonce Red. I liked it a little better than Beyonce Red as it seemed richer. It’s a good color.
o WOULD NEVER BUY AGAIN.
Also tested was:
- Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Lipcolor in Tomato Red
o this is a one-step lipcolor, not a two step. I played with this for a while until I got it to work. I did figure it out.
o As a lipcolor: this is far too dry to use without a balm, too soft to use with a balm, and I had a hard time getting an even coat with this. I didn’t realize how much I relied on the second step to fudge over my paint job until I tried this.
o As a lipstain: I lined my naked lips with this using a thin, tapered brush, then smeared the lipline into my lips. The result is the absolute sheerest, barest lipcolor. If I need lipbalm, I top it with a wax-based balm like Carmex. This made my lips look completely naked with natural color. It lasted forever. I wore it for 3 hours, went to sleep, and then wore it for 7 hours before I had to absolutely wash my face. I applied balm twice, and my lips rocked the entire time. You can use a balm first, but it doesn’t last as long and looks more like a colored balm than natural lips.
o Color: Top Tomato was beautiful both as a lipcolor and as a stain. As a stain, it looked like I have rosey lips. My lips are naturally blue-mauve.
o I WOULD BUY THIS AGAIN IN THIS AND OTHER COLORS, BUT ONLY FOR USE AS A STAIN, NOT A LIPCOLOR. I WOULD ALSO USE AS A LIQUID BLUSH.

I have this product in 3 colors: target red, thistle, and teaberry. I am happy with these colors, although it took me a lot of trial and error. I personally don't think the colors are true to their packaging and honestly, the line has a horrible selection of colors. I like the staying power of the product. As many have mentioned, it is drying. I've probably only used the product about 3 times. The first 2 times it lasted through eating and drinking, but the 3rd time it flaked off. I'm not too sure what caused it. Maybe it was because I had put on chapstick before hand? Overall, I probably would buy the product again.. maybe.

Got this Apricot.
COLOR: This is the EXACT color shade I had been looking for in every lipstick you can think of. It's a very warm muted down peachy reddish pink with a background of rosey color. This color is seriously my favorite one right now. I'd imagine this to be perfect on people with warm skin tones.
STAYING POWER: I applied my favorite lip balm underneath (the Body Shop's cannibis one) and have to say that I never got that cracking, drying feeling that most reviewers here talked about. I did however, feel like I lost on it's staying power. On me, it lasted about 3 hours. Almost gone with eating and drinking, but didn't completely wash off like most lipsticks. My friend however, did NOT apply balm bc she naturally has moisturized lips, and they STAYED on through her entire meal! It didn't even fade! She had hers on for about 9 hours.
------
EDIT: Okay so after using this for quite some time, I realized that once you mess up the lip balm trick, the results are simply unforgiveable. I was reapplying outdoors and the result was a cracking, flaking mess. The color crumbled into little crumbs. Literally. I had to remove everything and was too wary to try reapplying it again.
Overall, I probably wouldn't buy this again just bc it's too high maintenance to apply and reapply. Too bad though, bc the color was amazing.

I decided to try this lip colour because it was on sale the day I was at my local drugstore, plus the whole 'duo' idea caught my attention & I thought how bad could it be, right? Wrong. This is the most difficult lipstick I have ever used in my life. The first tube, which is the lip colour tube, is practically impossible to apply as it's very thick, dry and sticky. You cannot stain your lips with this lipstick like you can with most others because of this aspect of it. Hence, the only way you can apply the lip colour is if you literally apply it straight on your lips in a thick, solid stroke that literally cakes to your lips.
The second tube, which is the lip conditioner part of the duo, takes the dryness & stickiness away, leaving a comfortable smooth 'lip balm' sort of feel, thank goodness. However, this lipstick is only good if you're looking for a lipstick that is very thick in colour density (as I aforementioned, you cannot stain your lips with this). Furthermore, it is also literally infallible like it says as it's very difficult to remove! I struggled to remove this even with proper waterproof makeup remover and after I succeeded, my poor lips with sore and dry from all the vigorous scrubbing. Definitely not repurchasing!

Gives a disgusting dried-out look with cracks everywhere. It flakes off in the ugliest way. The balm does not serve its purpose. I would prefer my regular lipsticks that, while not long lasting, at least look good while they are on.

I got this in 899 caramel. It lasts for a very long time but trying to reapply can be a bit messy. It is a bit flaky and feels weird on your lips when it's drying. I did not like the wand so I used a lip brush to apply. Taking it off takes work but eventually comes off causing some lip irritation and redness. Overall, I love this color and how long lasts. I don't know if I will be repurchasing anytime soon. Like others have said, it's a bit spendy for drugstore makeup.

I bought this product in the "Apricot" colour (#400). I wanted an apricot coloured lip colour, since I hadn't any, and I was interested in trying a longwear. I'm impressed! It is for sure a longwear, and the apricot colour was exactly what I wanted it to be. A perfect sunny apricot/peach.
This is, for me, very easy to apply. It's drying on the lips, so points off for that, but it definitely stays on. It's actually difficult to get off, at least for me. The balm is not bad. I don't love it, but it does the job. I am on the fence about the packaging, it's a bit clumsy for me, but I love the actual colour formula. Stayed on through food, drink, and kissing.
