I bought this as I have long hair that tends to get very electrical during fall and winter and I need something to keep it down without making it greasy. My hairdresser recommended this and I'm very satisfied so far. You only need a tiny amount of this so don't overdo it with application. Someone mentioed to warm it up in your hand before applying: I 2nd that! Also make sure to really rub this very well between you handpalms or you might end up with a bit stiff looking hair. But when applied properly (a tiny amount, warmed up well and rubbed well between the hands first) this will give you a great hold without any greasiness or stiff looking hair. I really highly recommend this even if you have long hair to keep you hairstyle in its place. There are 2 reasons I took one lippy off: the weird smell, reminds me a bit on shoe wax (luckily it disappears as soon as you apply it) and the fact that you need deep cleansing shampoo to prevent this from building up/sitting on your hair by the long term use. But aside from that, this is a really good product and does it^s job really well.

I have used this back in 2003.I bought this along with the coconut scented hair gel of the same range which i loved.
What i hate about this product is that it is almost impossible to wash it off my hair. Its like the gunk just decided to stay on my hair for quite a bit and not wanting to get off.For that, its not my favourite but the gel is.

The previous review is great and I won't elaborate on the basic points of matteness, needing to warm it well, etc . My hair is fine, but with good density, I wear it short and funky and this product makes styling a breeze. My stylist daughter brought this home from the salon for me to try and I do love it. Previously, I have used Biosthetique Manipulator, KMS Hair Play, and Aveda Control Paste but this Head Clay is equally great. I will probably purchase once I go through my extensive supply of other pastes, putties and waxes.

This is such a nice clay type product for shorter hair. It gives a matte result with a lot of hold without ever turning my hair greasy or stiff. It's real thick and you need to warm it up in your hands a bit before applying. The scent is quite chemical, very sweet, I don't care for it much. Luckily it disappears as soon as I rub it into my hair. It seems to work best that way: first I rub it in, then use my fingertips to style hair as I want it. Voila! Lasts all day and still gives me the advantage of being able to restyle during the day if I want to.
