This is the best thickener I can find for my fine limp hair. I cannot find it in stores locally anymore. Just a small amount kept my hair from falling flat down in my face. Downside is the pump sticks often on every jar I have had. But until I find a better one, I will be faithful to Samy if I can find it.

This works. It's a very light, non-greasy citrus-smelling gooshy gel that volumizes thickness into your hair as you blowdry. Even my mom likes it (at age 60 her hair has thinned out a lot). Both our hair is short & 1 or 2 pumps of this gives our hair extra oomph as we blowdry & makes us look like we have more hair on our heads than we actually do. Love the volume! I like that the bottle is tranlucent so you can see how much product you have remaining. It leaves hair feeling light, natural & nicely bodified - no waxy, greasy, sticky or coated feeling on the hair. This is a winner.

This styling lotion does more for my fine thin flat hair than any other volume product I've tried in a long time! I apply a dime-size squirt throughout damp hair, & if not pressed for time, I scrunch it & let air dry instead of blow drying. I get lots of waves & fullness. Or, I can brush through & use big rollers & it holds the style well. Most all of the highly-rated volume products on this site only make my hair flatter, but this one is an exception!

This is one of the few products that I have purchased more than once and find myself going back to again and again. I find it is never heavy on my fine hair no matter how much I put in and it does a great job of thickening. I think I gravitate towards this product because it has lots of "good" ingredients in it versus some other products that are just a bunch of chemicals I can't pronounce. Plus, it's very affordable as well. I usually have to go to Rite Aid to find it but, it's totally worth it.

I LUV this product! It keeps my short, fine hair from being so flat, and after styling in the a.m. one day, can wake up the next day & have the same style (I just use my fingers to style). Less is more for me when it comes to styling products, so here's how I use it:
1. towel-dry my hair really good
2. pump pea-size amount of Samy Get Thick styling lotion into one hand, then rub hands together
3. work product through my hair (roots to ends)
4. blow-dry with head upside-down (using tourmaline ionic blow dryer) until almost dry
5. finish blow-drying using round brush to style (I like lift at the crown & flipping up the ends)
I was amaaazed that I could still have a hair style (stayed in place, ends still flipped, crown still lifted) not only at the end of the day, but the next a.m. when I got up! My hair was still "fluffy" even in the heat & humidity here in central Texas. And it was cheap! I got it at Target for less than $6 and this bottle will last me a lonnnng time.
The best part is, I got so many compliments on how cute my hair looked the first time I used it. (Well, yeah - because it wasn't just lying there!!)
Some days I just use the Get Thick lotion & finish drying my hair but don't do much else, and at least it still looks thick & full, AND it still looks thick & full the next day!
I had almost given up trying to "do something" with my hair, because heat & humidity kills any hairstyle I've tried. I've tried various other styling gels, lotions & hairsprays to get my hair to hold a style for > 10 minutes, and nothing. else. has worked. I do notice my hair isn't super silky-soft - tho not stiff/hard like straw - but that's probably why this styling lotion works.
I'm so glad I tried it!!

This thickening lotion says it gives volume to baby fine hair. Well, it didn't work for my fine hair. I bought it because I liked that it was watery, thinking it wouldn't be heavy and weigh down my hair. I started with just one squirt, which I worked into my damp hair (per the instructions.) I added one more squirt to cover my shoulder-length hair, but after it dried, I barely had any volume. Sure, my hair was soft, but the little volume was not worth it. I tried it again the next day with 3 squirts, but there was no improvement. Product is useless to me.
