I'm not a fan of Chi products to begin with, but I tried this anyway & it let me down. This did absoloutley nothing to my hair except make it sticky. The smell of this is so gross, I can't even explain it. The pump gets jammed easily. This is useless, I do not reccomend.

Love this stuff. A staple now. It completely eliminates my frizz and reduces the noticeable damage of flat-ironing my hair for years, everyday, while making it soft and super shiny. If you use a small amount for your ends, and combing the excess through the top part of your hair it won't weigh it down too much or make it greasy. It smells great too! My hair is already pretty straight so I don't know anything about it's straightening properties. I reccomend this. :)

This product was great when I first got it. It made my hair sooo soft and shiny and I used it before I would wear it natural or straightened. Personally, I like the smell, it's similar to silk infusion. It also lasts a long time, i've had it for over a year and not even half of it is gone and I used it about 3-4 times a week. But, this has stopped working at all for me. It does nothing for my hair and I realized that it weighs it down a little bit. I really wish this product would still have the same effect on my hair it used to have but for some reason it just doesn't.

I have been searching for a great hair product forever! I have super thick, super curly hair. I do wear it curly sometimes but i also love to wear it straight. However, whenever i straightened my hair before it would always end up frizzy by half day and i would go bobby pin crazy trying to keep it down.

Originally I was going to purchase Chi silk infusion therapy however when I noticed this was cheaper and it would straighten my hair I had to have it. I have been using this for weeks now and I have to say that I love it! I work outside as a lifeguard in the summertime-standing the hot, humid sun for hours. When I use this my hair stays frizz free and pretty straight also! This is now my HG product. I also love the smell. It's like a mix between a hair salon and men's cologne. Many people have complimented me on how great my hair looks now and smells! I never have to worry about frizz and it really does help straighten. A little goes a long way also which is good since this is a little expensive. My friend has had hers for six months now nad it is still 3/4ths full.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

after seeing all the great reviews, i really wanted to like this product.

my hair is slightly wavy and i was sick of flatironing on top of blowdrying everyday, so i bought this in hopes that it would eliminate the flatironing step.

Packaging: i don't know whether it's the product's fault, or target's fault. i bought this at target and all of the pumps on the shelves were opened, with gunk spilling all over the sides. i couldn't read the directions on the packaging so i had to go online to read them.

Product: very very gunky. i'm surprised to read on here that people thought this stuff was light. i used one pump and it just felt super gunky. i don't really have a problem with frizz, but this product actually eliminated my natural shine. all day i felt like my hair was gunky and i needed to take a shower.

after i blowdried my hair, my hair was still wavy. i flatironed my hair, and i saw no difference from how i always have been doing my hair, except that my hair smelled like the product, and it was shineless and gunky.

i'm very sad that this did not work for me.

i wash my hair with biosilk shampoo and conditioner and when i blowdry my hair i put some of this on and its very noticeable that my hair is soft and doesnt feel like a dry brick i got this and iron guard from target as a pack. you cant beat that!

I don't use this to straighten my hair. I have curly chin length hair and I always wear it curly. This cream / gel does an excellent job of controlling frizz, keeping my curls shiny, and creating smooth ringlets. I use a leave in then this on top while finger spinning each curl. It has just enough hold without creating crunch. The bottle is quite generous and I find that with everyday use one bottle lasts 3 weeks to a month.

So even if you have curly hair, you might find it as useful as I do for forming and keeping healthy looking spirals.

Wow. I have coarse, CURLY, frizzy hair which I straighten daily. This is the first product I've ever used that has successfully eliminated my frizz. Every time throughout the day when I catch sight of my reflection, I'm shocked to see myself with smooth, shiny hair. I didn't expect it to work this well at all. The bottle directs you to apply this before blow-drying, but I put it on after flat-ironing because it doesn't make my hair greasy at all. I'm thrilled with this stuff.

MUST HAVE!!I LOVE this stuff!It works wonders and I can not imagine being without this stuff.I have very thick wavy hair that is below my shoulders and all I need is just 2 pumps for my hair.I comb it through and use my CHI flat iron.My hair is so straight and soft afterwards!

I have long, thin, wavy/curly, color-treated hair, and I like to wear my hair straight, so I was looking for a product that would loosen my wavy curls. For over a year I used MOP's d-curl and really liked it, but it was discontinued and so I switched to CHI's Straight Guard and I am very very impressed. I liked d-curl, but the bottle was small and the scent was atrocious. With CHI Straight Guard, I get a big bottle of WONDERFUL smelling straightening cream that makes my hair not only straight, but super soft as well.

I use this when I get out of the shower - if I let my hair dry naturally without the product, I have a mess of slightly frizzy curls. If I use two pumps on damp hair and then blow dry it straight - my hair is gorgeous! It's shiny, veeery soft and super straight. I use CHI's 44 Iron Guard on dry hair if I'm going to use my straightening iron after and my hair stays pretty straight all day. (Humidity is a problem, though.)
I will repurchase this.

I like this product - it's not a HG, but it's good, but not great. It comes in a pump container and has a light creamy lotion texture. It also has the trademark CHI scent, i.e., men's cologne, which at first, is a bit too strong, but, after applying other products, it disipates and smells less 'mascuine'. I use approximately 2 -3 pumps on towel-dried hair and then blow dry. To be honest, my hair doesn't look good at this point with this product. It is only after I flatiron that my hair looks good (not dry and healthy looking). I think the product needs to 'settle into' the hair for several minutes before you blowdry/flatiron. It does not feel weighty or coated on my hair and it doesn't leave a heavy buildup either. I have been using this every day for a week and do not feel the need to clarify. I would repurchase but I am still looking for something better. It retails for approximately $13.99

My hair is wavy, and all i have to do to straighten my hair is use the chi and blow it dry!! With curly hair, you'd probably have to use a straighten. I love the smell, and the product doesn't make hair greasy or get gunky. The only thing i'm not completely satisfied with is that when it's really humid outside my hair gets a teeny bit wavy in the back. But, that's the only i've found wrong with it after using for a few months!

I like this better than my old product. It really seems to condition my hair without gunking it up. After I iron my hair, it just looks more polished and smoother than with other products. I haven't really noticed the smell. The price seems to be on par with other salon brands, so I can't complain there.

oh I love this stuff! Feels like a cream, smells great. I apply it to damp hair and distribute it evenly, and then let my hair dry. My frizzy, wavy fine hair had NO FRIZZ at all! I was amazed! This stuff worked wonders on my hair when it air dried, and I can't wait to try flat ironing with it! Definitely a great product.

I found this at TJ maxx and it was cheap so I thought I wold give it a try. It created a lot a static that I had to deal with all day. My hair doesn't usually get like that.

this product sucks. It did absolutely nothing to my hair.I have been on a search that makes my hair look sleek and smooth all day long and have yet to find it. While i love the CHI straightner this cream is just not for me.

I've been using this for over a year now and I have repurchased several times. It does a great job on keeping my hair straight and adding shine. So far this is my favoirite but I am always looking for something the makes my hair like glass.

Straight Guard is a light textured styling cream used on damp hair prior to styling. Works great for a smooth blow-out, probably will not be very helpful for those with highly curly hair, as this is so light. My hair is naturally wavy, and pliable, so easy to smooth out or take a curl. I can use this as a frizz reducer when I air dry and scrunch and it doesn't reduce volume or wave, never sticky, stiff or greasy. Not really a style 'hold' type product, more like a leave in conditioner in feel and function. It has kept my hair smooth in high humidity, but not pin straight.
It has the Chi fragrance, which I loove- a masculine after-shavey scent which bottled as cologne, I would eagerly buy. Comes as a 8.5 OZ plastic pump, $16usd
