This is a very irritating cleanser. It's "cooling" is from peppermint and menthol, both are irritating and it really made my eyes sting.

I picked this up last week at CVS ( so, I guess it's not discontinued). I love it. It gives a basic, through, gentle clean with a smidge of exfoliation. Washes off my makeup well at night and gives me a fresh-as-can be face in the morning. I will definitely repurchase and keep this on hand, always.

This cleanser made me breakout badly after a few days of use. I will not be purchasing again.

I have no idea why I occasionally stray from this cleanser… really. I guess I just get restless and get drawn in by other products’ seductive ads... ha!
I’ve been using this cleanser for years, and it’s like a miracle for my skin. I have just about zero problems with my skin when I use this. I have combination skin that’s more on the oily side than the combo side. This cleanser helps a lot with the oil but doesn’t make the less oily parts feel tight. It also really helps with those little white bumps that aren’t white heads, just clogged pores or something that sit under the skin. Ugh. It also removes my makeup well, even regular mascara.
Recently I started using Neutrogena Visibly Even Foaming Cleanser, which I like because it’s gentle and has smooth exfoliating beads. I typically use it every night, but will probably start using it just a couple of times a week for the exfoliation, because I’m definitely going back to this Garnier Cleanser for my regular routine. I’ve been using Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser for a while now, and it’s just not doing the trick. I think at my age (I’m 28), the best and most effective thing I can do to prevent wrinkles and help the minor ones I have is just use sunscreen 24/7. I already do that, so I think using the Anti-Wrinkle cleanser is a bit redundant. For my daily moisturizer I’m using Garnier Anti-Sun Damage Moisturizer w/ SPF 28. I’m going to be posting a review about that, too (it’s wonderful!!). I should never have stopped using Garnier's products!!

I had some issues with this cleanser such as the smell which was too perfumey and strong. Facial cleansers in my opinion should not smell like a perfume. However, suprisely my extremely, sensative skin was not allergic to it. This cleanser really did help my skin with healing breakouts, controlling oilines, without any redness or irritation. So again considering the awful smell I was quite suprised how well this product worked. I probrobly, would purchase again unless I can find something else that works this good or better without the scent. The other issue was that the pumps on these cleansers never seem to work right. I bought this cleanser a long time ago and had to return it due to a broken pump. This one again is giving me problems with the pump. Who knows if enough people purchase the product maybe they will revamp the cleanser by making a better pump and removing the awful smell. Other, than those complaints this is a good cleanser!

They stopped making my favorite cleanser and I had to find a new one. I happened upon this at Walmart. It didn't work as well, but really took the makeup off better than others. I have combination skin and it didnt dry mine out at all. They've stopped making this one as well, so I'm back to the drawing board on finding a new cleanser.

I guess I would buy it again...this stuff smells really nice and really is like a gel going on, but honestly if you have acne this wouldn't be the stuff to go to. It didn't really do anything to my face...which is fine if there's nothing going ON with your face...it's nice for a simple cleansing. Other than that it isn't very effective.

Strong smelling and very harsh for dry skin. It does have great lather and rinses clean. So if you have oily skin then give it a whirl. If your skin is dry please avoid.

I love the smell of this cleanser! It feels ultra tingly and cleanses my skin deep down without drying. However, the Salicylic Acid in it isn't enough to keep my blemishes completely at bay, but works well enough for me. Definitely worth trying. I've got a full bottle of it to use as soon as I run out of my Aveeno.

When I first bought this cleaner I ABSOLUTELY HATED it. I thought it was the worst thing I'd ever used. Dried my skin something awful, and I'm prone to oily skin. It gave me dark ashy scaly patches. At the time I wasn't using moisturizer. I looked at the ingredients and noticed salicylic acid near the top. Huh? I'm surprised this isn't marketed as an acne product, and that there is no "active ingredients" list. Customers should be informed upfront when a product has such an ingredient.
It took about a week of not using the cleanser and slathering on moisturizer to get it back to normal. But I also noticed then that my skin was very clear, as I have some adult acne issues. They were gone, even the little blackheads that never go away mostly disappeared.
So I started using the Garnier again, as I couldn't return it because I had used too much, and I don't like to waste. This time I only used it every other day, with a neutral cleanser in between, and I started using moisturizer on the daily and nightly basis as well. It's kept my skin very clear, and is no longer dried out at all. I am now able to use it once a day without any issues. I only wish that it had more lather (yeah I'm a lather junkie), and it generally takes 2 washes until my skin feels clean, especially if I'm using Colorstay foundation. I has a nice light fresh smell.
I noticed it was 50% off at Rite-Aid today, so I suppose it might be true that this product has been discontinued. I should have bought more than one.

I found this on sale for $5 at CVS. I am about 1/3 through the bottle, and I won't be buying this again. I hate to waste product however, so I will be using it until it is finished. It doesn't completely remove makeup and dirt. I have to go through 2-3 cotton balls full of toner before all dirt is off of my face. This product also did nothing for my combination skin. It doesn't make my face real tight, and I don't usually get that gross squeaky clean feeling after washing, but it did nothing to remedy my minor breakouts. For all I know, it may have even assisted them.

I've been using this for a while and even though I've tried other kinds of cleansers, I find myself going back to this one. This can't be used by itself and does need toner and serum/moisturizer afterwards - as it should always be. Takes off a good chunk of dirt and makeup. Can't complain about the price, still cheaper than most drugstore brands. I love how it's in a pump bottle...one pump is all you need.

I am overall pleased with this cleanser considering that it's dirt cheap and that it does cleanse quite well (sometimes too well). It has not caused me any (additional) breakouts, however it does make my skin a little flaky every now and then. A few bad points: too much perfume (smells nice though) and too harsh (stripping too much even for my oily combo skin).
It lathers up great. I know it doesn't matter but I prefer lathering cleansers.
Pump bottle is great too!
I will buy it again as long as I am on a tight budget and have already done so several times.

it took me a little while to figure out that this cleanser as well as the detoxifying scrub were aggravating my skin and contributing to breakouts. part of the reason could be that neither do a great job of removing makeup and i also felt like they stripped my skin and assaulted it with minty-ness and strong fragrance. im back to gentle cleansing cloths and my skin is so much calmer.

The GOOD: it got rid of all traces of makeup and has a nice lather.
The BAD: I can't stand the smell, it doesn't feel luxurious on my skin (it feels cheap - because it is I guess), my skin feels very tight afterwards, and I accidentally got it in my mouth and EWW! Do not get this product in your mouth or eyes for that matter because it burns! I wouldn't reccommend this cleanser to anyone. There are other cheap options out there, that in my opinion, do a much better job.

My skin story: I'm very pale (lighter than the scale in most lines), very sensitive, and very picky :) My skin is dry on the cheeks and slight oily on my nose. My chin and my forehead are pretty normal!
I picked this cleanser up after reading reviews here. I wanted a new cleanser that was gentle and with no gritty bits to use with my Clarisonic. This seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I purchased this on sale, but I believe that the full price was only about $6. The packaging is nice enough...I like the green color that the Garnier line uses. It comes with a pump, which I prefer.
The cleanser itself was not as successful as the packaging/price, however. The smell of the product was a little off-putting, as I'm very sensitive to smells. The soap was slightly foaming and felt nice on. I actually found that it made my skin too clean. It made me squeaky clean and irritated. After using this, my skin over-produced oil like crazy. I will continue to use my Cetaphil gentle.

I'd buy this again...if I could find it on clearance again! I don't think I'd pay full price for it. I paid $2 for it at a discount store...I find it to be an 'average' cleanser...it didn't do anything bad to my skin, and it cleaned it...guess that's what counts! Nothing special about it though...

After reading the reviews, I bought this since it was on sale. I felt and looked great after the first few uses. I believed this was going to be my HG until my skin started being it's old pimply self again but this time tiny red bumps started to appear. Other users have also experienced this, I am unfortunate to have skin that reacts to this product :(
