I'm really lazy when it comes to taking off make-up so I can't get enough of this! It cleans off ALL my make-up - even the most stubborn waterproof ones - so easily and leaves my skin with a really soft texture.
I've heard quite a lot of complains about it giving breakouts and I have a theory for this: Because you rub it on your face as it removes make up, whatever dirt you've accumulated on your face stays so you'll definitely need to cleanse your face after. It is, after all, a make-up remover and not a cleanser although you use it the same way.
With that said, it's the best make-up remover I've ever tried but don't forget your skincare!

I'm writing this review because I'm mourning. This was the only thing that ever removed my waterproof mu smoothly, without tugging, thoroughly and with just simple rinse off action. It has bee pulled off the shells 2-3 years ago? i had a huge stash which is coming to it's end. The last tube will be saved for traveling purposes. Oh, I remember good old days when I even used it clean my makeup brushes
I use oil now, and then follow with some generic cleanser. it's ok, but not quite it. This was compact and effective and brilliant. I will miss it forever.

I usually favour hot cloth cleansers but I wanted to try something new for travelling as I hate carrying around lots of cloths which you can't clean/dry properly on the move. I also like oil cleansers but they really aren't the most portable! After some digging around it seemed like Clarins Pure Melt Gel was ideal but I was loath to pay over €20 for it. I saw this spoken of as a dupe so I got it on Ebay for approx €5 for 100ml.
This works really well and takes off every scrap of makeup. It comes out as a pale yellow oily gel and has an inoffensive, if synthetic, soapy/caramel scent. It spreads out in a pleasantly thick oil on a dry face and needs about 30s of working into the skin. It emulsifies nicely but needs a couple of rinses before getting rid of all the residue. Like other reviewers have said it can blur your vision slightly (I've found most oil cleansers do the same) but there is absolutely no stinging in my eyes. I dried my face with a white towel and there were no marks left on the towel, not even mascara. I don't think I've ever had such a thorough cleanse without using a muslin/microfibre cloth.
I know others have said that they need another cleanser after this but tbh I find this adequate by itself if I rinse it properly. I didn't feel as though it left a film on my skin; it was just clean and comfortable with no burgeoning dry patches.
It's packaged in a tube with a sturdy flip-top lid which makes it perfect for travelling. I didn't expect to be able to use it without cotton wool which is an added bonus.
Unfortunately I think L'Oreal are discontinuing this where I live and I can only get it on the internet. I can't believe I ignored it for all these years. I'll have to frantically stockpile it!
The only reason I'd try the Clarins version now is if it smelled amazing (which I've heard it does) and if I get a good price, because I can't imagine it working better than this one.
I'm a bit hesitant to give this a 5 star review as I feel I haven't used it for long enough. However, if I develop any problems with it I'll be sure to update.

I really love this product. . .I have used this product for 5 years now and wonder why it gets very bad review . . .Honestly i try many many make up remover and I'm quite sure that this is the only one that can remove everything from my face for real . . .it 's easy and very fast and totally clean although you use waterproof cosmetic such as maybellline mascara that it is very hard to get rid of it !!! the result is fantastic. . .I have try another kind of make up remover too but finally I have to go back to this again . For another product you have to wait until mascara is melting but for this you just apply it smootly all over your face and use the cotton pad to wipe out .The problem is in Sweden it is very hard to find the place to sell it and I don't know why they don't sell it anymore so I have to order it from UK instead . . sometime I am a bit paranoid that L'oreal will stop to produce it . . .so please if someone from L'oreal read this pls do not stop to produce it . . .^^

I am on my third bottle of this and don't get the negative reviews at all. I totally agree with what the reviewer prior to me said. This is a MU remover, NOT a face cleanser. And as for the argument that you could just as well use an oil remover... not a big surprise here! The main ingredient in this IS oil, to be exact coconut oil. Why I still prefer this? Because it leaves no residue on my skin, as coconut oil usually does, and neither does it leave a milky film on my eyes. This is the ONLY product that I know that removes water proof eye MU as if it were melted butter. It is also great at taking my sunscreen off (which is waterproof, so an oil-based cleanser is fantastic). As the reviewer below pointed out, there is hardly any friction when using this, so my skin is always smooth and not irritated. I DO by the way use this without a cleanser afterwards - and my skin has never been better! No agressive detergents stripping it of its moisture! For reference, I have oily but dehydrated skin which is super sensitive. This is the ONLY cleanser I know that does not make my skin feel tight and dry after use and combines the qualities of a cleansing OIL with the benefits of a regular cleanser. I really wish people would educate themselves on reading labels better - if you have acne-prone skin, then an oil-based cleanser might not be ideal for you (though for ME and my breakouts, the opposite is true), but if your skin generally reacts really well to oils, then you should give this cleanser a try

I don't understand all the reviews here! This is one of the cheaper makeup removers that have actually worked for me. I love it because there is practically no friction on the skin when using this. Also, for those who are saying that their faces are left not completely clean or a tad oily, this is a makup remover, not a cleanser - you SHOULD always be cleansing your face after using this. This is one of the only cheap products I have found to be effective with lashblast volume waterproof :)

Its very oily and silky in texture on application. I dont find that it emulsifies after you add water. On me it stays the same - I don't know what I could be doing wrong...After I wash it off my face still feels oily and I end up using a face wash as well. You face just doesn't feel clean after this product. I bought it on clearance so at least I didn;t spend much on it...

Was tempted to buy this because the adverts raved about this ingeniuos formula of a gel that turns into a fluid milk which cleanes the skin of all traces of make-up and is popular with top make-up artists - here we go again...it is too good to be true.
I do like to give new products a go and recently I have noticed many products are just nowhere near as good as they rave about and more so dont even do the basic job.
I do have problem sensitive skin and I am prone to breakout but I was sold on all th adds about quick make-up removal and a gentle formular.
This product has lovely packaging that is classy and is filled with a jelly based subtance which feels like oil when prepped on th skin.
It is certainly very oily and greasy but does remove makeup but I would not say it was more effective that any other cleanser. I just cant get use to using oil on my skin espcially when that is what I am trying to remove from my skin as it is oily by nature.
I have suffered a few breakout since using this and I wont contniue with it.
It does have a nice scent but I cannot continue with it because it is oily and when I grab i in the morning some oil canbe left around the tube and I hate that feeling ofoil that just never seems to disappear.
It does have a satin touch but that is because it is oily and silky and I am not certian that this is good for oilporne and spot prone skin like mine.
I will finish the tube to take off the eye make-up but not with the rest of my skin. It is effective at getting off stuborn mascara but thats where it ends for me.
I will not purchase this again and I will stick to my usual watery or creamy ormulations as I do not want skin like an oil-rig.

I love cleansing oils for removing makeup but thought I would give it a try as I like the eye make-up remover in this range.
This has a feel of a cleansing gel with a hint of a balm quality to it. It does emulsify when water is added but it doesn't give me that clean feeling you get with a cleansing oil. It doesn't effectively remove make-up either, and I still have to use a separate eye make-up remover. Irritates my eyes a bit too. Hate it.

I think that L'Oreal is discontinuing their De-maq makeup removers, because I had a lot of difficulty finding them and when I finally did, this was the only one left and it was marked down. I bought it since I loved the cashmere milk one so much, but this one is definitely not as good. It is more of a gel consistency, rather than a cream, and it doesn't remove my makeup as well. I need to use a lot more, and I feel like I'm rubbing more, which I wanted to avoid. I also felt like I got some moisturizing benefits from the cashmere milk remover, which I definitely don't get from this one. Would not repurchase, even if it weren't discontinued.

It would have been great if this product had worked. It took my makeup off effortlessly with almost no rubbing involved and wasn't in the least bit drying for me, nor did it aggravate my roscea skin. However, it did give me a horrendous breakout across my cheekbones and forehead. The smell was also very overpowering - like cheap perfumes that try to copy designer versions. It looks like thick honey and comes in a small flip-cap tube. I'm not sure what this is now retailing for in the UK - when I first bought it, it was around £7, but I often see it discounted to around £3 - £4 in shops. I tried the Velvet face wash in the Demaq range and had the same breakout, and it may be the ethylhexyl palmitate that causes it. I gave it a 2 because it does actually do its job, but I wouldn't go near it or any other Demaq offerings again.

This is not so bad, but it ain't good as well.
I think that it is too oily - I always needed to wash my face after this product.
It doesn't last long, since you need whole lot of the product to really remove the make up.
It ain't bad, it didn't cause any break out or similar things - but there are definitely much better cleansers in the world.

I loved this product!! The scent was nice- not over-powering.
The texture was gentle, yet it removes MY make-up.
I dont understand the reviews that said it does not work.. ??? :0(
Maybe TOOOO much make-up??
I wear light make-up ,and it is very effective...
I love the feel. And my skin is sensitive, yet no reaction!!
If I could find it locally, I would definitely buy it again!!! (I bought it while on a business trip in Germany)... :0)

This product is in one word useless. I did everything the package said and it barely got my blusher off. Of course all my waterproof mascara and eyeliner was still on my face, at best a little bit smudged. It is horrid and I will never ever even consider repurchasing.
Edit: I still wouldn't repurchase but it's not as bad as I innitiately tought. Still: don't ever buy this if you have longlasting make-up or use waterproof stuff, it just can't take that off. If you use very light make up this might be a good product for you though (although I'm convinced there's better for cheaper)

I bought this because the texture looked really similar to a Shiseido make-up remover my sister has (which works really well). Its a gel formula that you rub on a dry face with dry hands, then add water to emulsify (make milky) then wash off. I follow with my regular cleanser. Its an ok product. Nothing special. It does the job of removing makeup which is all I can really ask of a make up remover. But it isnt that effective in removing lash expander mascara (but then, hardly anything is). I would buy it again because its pretty cheap and it does the job.

This is actually not a bad product. If you have loads of make up on your face this would be good at removing it. I don't recommend it for eyes or sensitive skin, cause it will sting a bit. I also have had film in my eye using this, so I stick to eye makeup remover (unless of course it's so waterproof that it won't budge). It's a bit drying too, if your skin is not sensitive it would be great. However parts of my skin are sensitive so I would need to be a bit careful. I don't think I will repurchase cause the bottle is big and I seldom wear so much makeup as to need this to remove. I'd give it 3.5.

An awesome makeup remover... works wonderfully for eye makeup even waterproof ones. Smells good too.
Only downfall is that it is rather thick and greasy, and it gives me foggy vision for a bit. I am not sure if it's something I am doing wrong... but I do keep my eyes closed and rub my mascara etc off gently and when I rinse it off I open my eyes to a blurry world for a few mins. After I get into the shower and out however it'll be gone...
If it's something I am doing wrong... someone please enlighten me! Although I've gone through a whole tube already, I might like to repurchase sometime esp if it's on sale as it retails for NZD21 and is quite expensive. I bought mine as a twin pack for NZD17 (what a steal compared to the original price!).

It's perfect for removing all makeup, including long lasting and waterproof makeup. The only bad thing about this product is it causes acne on my face. When my sister use it, who has sensitive skin, it irritates her face and causes acne like crazy.
Update: I have to use this again because I can't find other good makeup remover for face, can anyone suggest me one? I've already had eye makeup remover.

I've been hunting for the last 11 years for an eye-makeup remover that actually removes all, *all* of my makeup, not just the stuff that isn't at the base of my eyelashes, which I have never been able to budge. I don't much like the watery ones either, not that these tend to be much cop anyway. The closest I got was a cheap Boots own brand remover, which did an excellent, though not perfect job, especially for the price. Then they released this stuff. Admittedly it smells, in a terribly artificial way that I categorically do not like. It has a gel texture, which is tolerable, but a little on the greasy side, and I *have* to wash my skin after I've used it. But it actually works, gets every last scrap of makeup off, and this is the most important part. If you look in the right places it is reasonably priced as well. I've taken a lippie off for the texture and smell, as well as the fact that I have recently discovered, it is not suitable for soft contact lens wearers and contributes somehow (even though I use it after I've taken the lenses out, and don't put them back in for at least 7 hours after using the product) to lipid deposits on my lenses which basically renders them useless to wear as they are so uncomfortable.
