Great shimmery charcoal black shadow!
It is so pigmented and gives off a perfect colour exactly shown in the pan
It is a charcoal black with shimmers and works great over a liner or as shadow liner.
Great quality, great price! Go try this!

Fabulous shadow liner color, deep black with shimmer. This has staying power, wet or dry.

I bought 4 colors to try out, sage, moondust, truly pink, and dusk.

These really aren't bad eye shadows for $1. I just find them too shimmery for my old eyes. However, I am loving the dusk as a liner shadow.

There is also enough shadow here for me to never use up and rebuy.

Pros:
inexpensive
large size

Cons:
too shimmery
very loosely packed, dusty, fallout

Very pigmented, a shimmery very dark gray shade. I only swatched it on my hand, not sure how it'll perform when used on the eyes. But the formula did seem to wear pretty long. Plus, for the price, the amount and quality you get is really good.

Super pigmented and creamy textured Gunmetal Black, makes me feel ripped off for buying all those MAC shadows,

Love this black shadow! I own almost all elf eye element shadows and in two of my compact quads i have dusk in each one bc i use it so much.. Black slight shimmer (not glittery), butter smooth, loosely packed but still great, blends great. I always use primer so not sure how is w-out but its great for adding definition to outer v and blending out and looks great. Im pale and its not to much. Will def. Rebuy when i run out. Def worth at least 5x much (and im broke and dont spend alot on each purchase) i get compliments on looks when i use this color as well as with all elf shadows i love the element shadows and compact is great. This color is great for smoky eye, definin outer v, lining top lash line alone or to top liners and addin to lower lash line. I love it. I dont find it too shimmery either perfect actually. Just be careful of fallout since its black. I get that with any color or brand. It will help if u initially 'pat' shade on then blend which im sure u all know..

I love this shadow. It is my first black shadow, and yes because of the soft texture it is hard to work with a little bit, but I suppose that's just because I've never worked with black shadows before. I like that it is pigmented, but you can blend it out to make it a less intense black. I will repurchase this. I would wear a primer under this as I would any shadow.

Mine didn't have the purple/blue tone others are talking about, it seemed to me to be a pretty true black color. It was dark, but also not well pigmented at all, so it was very difficult to apply because it just looked uneven no matter how much I tried to layer it or keep it sheer, neither way worked. In the trash it went.

This is a beautiful black w/ shimmer. The texture is really soft but it's very pigmented. I love the elf single pan shadows. They blend nice and are very convenient to change in the compact for touch ups for your look of the day.

I actually think this looks to have a bit of a blue undertone to it, it's not exactly pure black. It's cute, though, shimmery, not too harsh, and easy to blend.

Color: soft black with shimmer. It's not a very dark solid kind of black...
Coverage: 5/5. Easy to work with.
Lasting power: 4/5. Need primer for it to stay for 8+ hours. It doesn't flake or irritate my eyes.
I use it as a powder liner and it has worked very well for $1. I will buy again!

Dusk is your basic shimmering black color, but for $1, the quality is excellent. This comes in just a pan, so you'll have to make sure you have a compact to put it in. If you don't, don't worry because e.l.f. also carries 4-pan compacts for $1 a piece too! Anyway, I was very impressed when I swatched Dusk, as its highly pigmented and very smooth. If you don't want a shimmering black, then I'd just skip this and go to MAC's Carbon or NYX's Black, but the shimmer is really nice.

I love how dark this eyeshadow is! I found this color is good especially for the crease if you're trying to go for a smoky eye. The eyeshadow has some shimmer in it so that it's not too harsh of a "black" color. For just a dollar, it's not a bad deal!

The colour is pigmented but it does not last very long. It will fade and crease in about 2 hrs even with a base. This product is better to apply with fingers first to avoid dusting particles going all over the palette with an eyeshadow brush. Overall, it's not bad for a buck but would rather put in an extra 2 bucks or so to get a better quality e/s.

I can't believe some of the reviews on this shadow. I purchased this for $1 a couple years back as a single shade at Target, and it is my HG black shadow. It's a shimmery deeply pigmented black that is actually BLACK, not gray as some have mentioned. So much so that you have to be careful when applying this because if it falls on your bathroom countertop, it may stain. My only complaint is that it tends to be a softer textured shadow, so you may have some fallout on your cheeks after applying. But once it is on, it lasts and lasts with no creasing. And you don't have to continually build to get some color payoff, one swipe is sufficient. I love that it's not matte and has a sheen to it. It DOES NOT have those annoying little glitter flecks that some shadows have though, and I am grateful for that. I do wish that it was sold as a larger shadow in its own compact instead of only being a selction in the mix and match custom shadow. Will definitely repurchase if I ever run out. And at this price, it's worth a try!

Dusk is a deep gray with some shimmer.

PROS: CHEAP! Even when ELF isn't having one of their many sales. Decent pigmentation. Moderate staying power.

CONS: A little chalky, IMO.

Overall, a nice e/s but I don't think I'll repurchase. I'm just not crazy about the colors I purchased.

This is great! I use this in my crease when I want to do a black smokey eye. I only do this for a night out look. It's way to dark for day time. At first, I did not like this color at all. Now that I have tried this for a second and third time, I decided that I really like it. I apply it with the ELF blending brush. Highly recommend it. Some people mentioned that it is not a true black on them. Mine is truly black.

a soft black with some sparkles. I use this as a crease color because it's less harsh than a darker black like MAC Carbon.

I remember I bought this because I needed a really black eyeshadow for my kitty costume on halloween LOL, and I was surprised of the quality of this, for only $1 at Target. It's very pigmented, easy to blend, and creates a very dramatic effect. I haven't done this yet but I'm sure if you use this as an eyeliner, you would get a good result. The only reason I took off one lippie is because it does start to crease within a few hours, which means touchups. but other than that its very good stuff and I'd buy again. :)

Dusk is supposed to be black right? Mine is a dark blue/purpley colour. I found elf products at my local pharmasave in ontario canada and was psyched since I order it online, but I could get the compact and the refills locally now. I bought 3 shadows, should of got a lipgloss refill, but the refills were $3 each and the compact was $3..so it was getting expensive and I didn't expect the quality to be great. I thought I was maybe just seeing the dusk colour wrong in the store, but I broke it home and swatched it and it's definitey not black! I wonder why others are getting it as black?

A great black eyeshadow! I find that the pigmentation is great and it's so versatile. Not only can you create a smoky look but you can also use it to line your eyes. Definitely worth the dollar despite it not being firmly packed very well.
