I've been using Neutrogena's retinol products on and off for the last 11 years, and I, like the reviewer below, don't have a clue why I stray, because I always keep coming back. I love the fact that this product has retinol and SPF, AND does a very decent job of moisturizing. For $20, a tube lasts me around three months. I also top this off with a bit of the Neutrogena Dry Touch SPF 100, just because I don't think that the pea sized amount I use of the Healthy Skin SPF 20 truly offers that much sun protection, and I'm a bit leery of sun exposure when using anything with retinol. All in all- a great daytime moisturizer. I have and will continue to repurchase.

Im on my 3rd tube of this stuff, i read all the reviews and there are alot of complaints abouth the chemical scent. Seriously though the pros outweigh the cons for this amazing moisturizer. I have never had a problem with sensitivity to this product and the sheer comfortable feel is amazing. Plus it has retinol and sunscreen, both positive for skincare. I bought 3 packages from walmart, they were on clearance for $11.00 which included the cleanser. Can you believe I paid about $5.00 for a tube!! Im on my last tube :[, which means I have to pay at least $20.00 for a tube if I want to continue using this. Oh well the price we pay for beauty is unbelievable lol.

The smell is an awful chemical odor, but I can deal with it if it performed well. The texture is too thick and makes my face look greasy. Furthermore, it broke me out. Now it goes on my neck and the back of my hands.

This is a little pricey, but I found mine for 10 bucks at my local grocery outlet. It smells horrible, like burnt rubber, and makes me a little shiny. With all that aside, it does moisturize well without breaking me out and has a SPF of 20. I'm a fan of the healthy skin line from Neutrogena and I was happy to add this to my collection. My skin tone has evened out and I feel like I'm preventing fine lines from forming around my face, especially my eyes. A good product to try.

I don't know why I stray from this...I just don't know. Every time I do, I always come running back to the safety of it's ever-loving retinol formula to rescue my skin and restore order. I'm already hooked on the night version of this. My only problem with this daytime formula is that it leaves me crazy-shiny by the middle of the day. HOWEVER, every dalliance into other daytime creams with SPF and no retinol (other Neutrogen creams included) that will NOT leave me shiny ALWAYS leave me broken out. And so...This is a HG item in the sense that it keeps the peace for my combo/acne-prone skin and that makes it worth every darn penny. It's moisturizing, truly non-comedongenic for me, and an effective ounce of prevention in staving off the sands of time. Also, a vast improvement texture-wise from the original and SPF 15 version which I always thought seemed sort of Rediwhip (does that sound weird?) in consistency and just as moisturizing. This Ageless Intensives update is a great improvement on the formulas of the day and night versions. This stuff really does work!

I just started using this, and so far I love it, except for one thing - the SMELL. Jesus. I can't even explain it, it's so awful, but fortunately it disappears quickly and doesn't linger. Which is good, because this is a good product - you only need a small amount, it works as a great base for makeup, it has an SPF (only 20, but still), and it doesn't make me break out (though I am prone to it). On the downside, it is expensive, but because you only need a tiny amount, a tube will last ages, so it's worth it. Will repurchase, but I hope they fix the smell - it's seriously hellish.

I managed to pick this up very cheaply on a day-sale website along with the night cream. Normal price is a little harsh but I'll keep repurchasing, I think. It actually seems to have started working on my forehead-smoker's-wrinkle... nothing else ever has, heh. I've been using it for about three months now.
PROS:
-SPF (v. important in NZ)
-Has not made me break out (I am most prone to this)
-Packaging easy to use and doesn't come open in bag
-Decent size tube and don't need to use much
-Has helped with acne scars and first wrinkles
CONS:
-Smells like vom but smell disappears after a minute
-Price a bit much
Overall I'd say it's not a bad little product. Good preventitive measure for certain :>

Ok, so i didnt buy this product but im going to.
BUT
I saw this at a discount store (otherwise i would have probably never looked it at the drugstore) and popped open one of the tubes (bad bad, i know!) and put some on my hand to see the texture, since spf 20+ retinol is not bad.
The smell is horrendous, like something burnt and old sunscreen mixed together. It seemed to absorb quick and not leave a werid greasy residue on my hand.
There was some other sunscreen tube from Alpha hydrox that i tried on my other hand.
And then the weirdest thing happened.
I looked at my other hand where i put the neutrogena and my self tan was missing from that part of my skin! It just ate it off! Geez! Some pretty powerful stuff that is in there!
Well i took some time to think about it, and by the time i was done with errands the store was closed, so I wll go tomorrow and purchase this and update it when i use it on my face.

I got this along with then anti-wrinkle intensive night cream from my aunt. She was planning to give it away as a gift, but forgot so now she has nothing to do with it. I figured that even if I did not have wrinkles, the retinol might be good for my acne scars. Anyway, the night cream is good so far (will post a review in a few weeks to see if it really works) but this day cream is horrible. It has a really bad smell like old sunscreen or something and goes on really thick. It didn't really absolve into my skin and just sat on top of it suffocating my skin. This led my skin to overproduce oil in its attempts to rid itself of this product. It makes my skin look oily and darker when I'm wearing it. I tried it on my hands in order to use up the product, but the smell was too much for me. I just threw it away.

So far so good. I got this cream and serum several days later after I started using Healthy skin Anti-Wrinkle intesive night cream. I really like it. The biggest surprize for me was The Smell so many reviewers complain about. If it wasn't for their reviews, I wouldn't even think of mentioning it, so light and non-offensive it is, for me at least. I really expected something gross, but this is nothing. Very happy about it.
And extra 5 spf does make a difference IMO.
This cream is nicely moisturizing, bit heavier than night version due to the sunscreen, but still, it doesn't make me look greasy. Together with the night intensive cream and serum, it's fading marks left after several pimples and clogged pores and my skin is so smooth, it's unbelievable. No irritation or burning whatsoever (yet), but I'm hoping it will stay so. I'm not using it long enough to see any other benefits, but as I said, so far, I do like it and will continue to use it. I think this line might be my HG, but we'll see after a month or two. Fingers crossed!
EDIT: My problem with this moisturizer is that I can't use it every morning. If I do, my face turns red after 3 days or so. Now, I know, retinol can and in many cases will do that until your skin adjusts to it, but I'm trying for 2 month now and still can't wear it every day. But I will keep trying until I finish my second tube. If my skin can't tolerate it by then, it's time for something else. Pitty, because I really like it otherwise.
EDIT: I built up tolerance and can use it every day. My only concern is that sunlight destroys retinol, so what 's the point of using it during the day? Only for sun protection? Not sure if I'll buy again...
EDIT 26/02/10
I'm using Retin A now, no need for retinol any more. But I wouldn't buy this product again even if I didn't. PPD (uva protection) of it is very low. It was irritating on my skin. If you want a promissed sun protection labelled on the tube, you need to apply 1/4 of a teaspoon of a product (like with any other sunscreen), which would be almost impossible with this (such a large ammount of retinol could be too irritating and you'd run out of the product very soon). Retinol also becomes ineffective/destroyed by light (any light, but especially sunshine), so what is the point of the cream?
I used up the rest of the cream on my hands overnight.
So, although I loved the night version of this, day version was basically useless and irritating too.

I got this and the Night Cream from a friend whose skin didn't agree with the them. When I first started using them, I broke out pretty badly. I'm not sure if that had something to do with the fact that I was using a lot of other products at the same time or what. But now, my skin is ten times smoother and the acne scars are starting to fade.
I'm very impressed!

I love this, I have been using it for a little over a week now and No Breakouts! I don't get any chemical scent from it or I don't notice it at least. It goes on thick but immediately soaks in. My makeup stays on great and I don't get greasy. I bought this only for the spf factor b/c it's winter and I do need to use spf all year round. I have not had any peelilng of the skin. Love this and though I have not noticed any lines disappearing I like it for the only fact that it moisturizes great. Will buy this again, and I think the packaging is different and great tube...

I have used Neutrogena for quite some time and typically have good results with the products....until this one. I bought it because I am over 35 and defintily seeing "time" on my face. I used this for about a week, morning and night. Packaging and texture are very cool, smell nasty! Seemed fairly hydrating. Then all of the sudden I noticed burning on my cheeks, right under my eyes. I read on the package this was normal temporary sensation. SO I gave it 2 more days, now my skin is so irritated that I can hardly wear makeup.
I have discontinued that and also my Neutrogena eye cream, now back at square one trying to find a product line for my fairly sensitive skin, and limited budget.

I am always attracted to Neutrogena products but never all that impressed once I actually try them, especially their skin products. This one, however, is a keeper so far. I avoided buying this a couple times due to price and the thought that this would be a greasy, heavy cream due to "intensive anti-wrinkle" and no comments about "noncomedogenic" on the packaging. I am 34 with combo/oily skin that still breaks out so while I sometimes need moisture, and always try to get SPF protection, I also have to be careful with breakouts. This is actually MUCH lighter-weight than I anticipated and actually may not even moisturize enough for some people (I don't need a ton of moisture). It seems to "evaporate" almost immediately into my skin (I've personally never used a cream of this texture and application before) and it doesn't leave a shiny oil slick even as the day wears on. Makeup applies well, I guess it could sort of be like a "primer." I am happy with a slightly higher SPF of 20 instead of the "typical" 15 although I also try to do a higher SPF 30+ when I can. I don't have many lines and no deep wrinkles, I use this mainly as sunscreen for my face and neck that doesn't break me out or leave me greasy looking/feeling. I haven't used this long enough to comment on the wrinkle improvement, but I don't think I see this product doing much in the way of wrinkles for some reason. Also, the initial chemical smell is pretty bad and I'm not that attuned to smells. I believe the smell wears off after a little bit though. I noticed some comments about it irritating sensitive skin, so I should probably mention that I don't have sensitive skin. Bottom line: I am pleasantly surprised and glad I finally tried this-- This one is actually worth a try. It's not the heavy, greasy, pore-clogging cream you might expect it to be, it is very light and weightless.

I love this moisturizer. I am a skincare junkie, but keep coming back to this product. With the retinol it may cause alittle slight peeling when you start using it, but that means that your skin is renewing itself, so who am I to complain? For the money you will not get more concentration of the active ingredients. I am on my 3rd tube.

Like the rest of the MUAers reviewing this product, I wanted an anti-wrinkle moisturizer with SPF that doesn't cost a fortune. Is this too much to ask? I keep turning to Neutrogena for these types of products but I don't know why because I am always disappointed. There is a tiny amount of product in the tube for the price. I have sensitive skin - now I have irritated sensitive skin! It does have a very chemically scent and I think, "this can't be good." Try it if you like but keep the receipt.

I wanted a daytime moisturizer with SPF and no fragrance, and this works fine. It doesn't seem to be very moisturizing when I put it on, but it does no worse than moisturizers that are thinner and then absorb into the skin. I wouldn't want a dewy moisturizer for daytime anyway. The smell to me is just like hardcore sun protection. Overall, it is fine for my skin, which is oily but with patches of slight dryness due to eczema.

I decided to try this product as it was on sale and I thought I needed a higher spf than the other Neutrogena moisturizer I was using. It didn't moisturize very well and the smell was so bad that I stopped using it after a couple of days.

I usually use the neutrogena anti-wrinkle cream with spf 15 but I decided to try this one. It works the same as the spf 15, But I have to take off two lippies because of the smell!!! it smells like way too much chemicals and its horrific...i switched back to the spf 15
