Like a couple of other reviewers, I am not a huge fan of Trish McEvoy.
I have used some of her products over the years at an "on-again, off-again" basis. I find some of her products turn very orangy. In addition, her makeup, for the expensive price, is average and not HG-esque.
This planner is decent. Not fantastic, but not awful either. I have given it three stars b/c the price kills me--especially since one of the little leather ties keeps coming off the zipper. Drives me nuts.
That said, most of the items I carry in this are not Trish McEvoy. There are quite a few pockets and the removable travel case within a case is decent as well. There are some slim pockets for brushes and cylinders--I'll explain. I'm able to carry some Trish brushes, YSL Touche'Eclat, Eyebrow pencil and Eyeliner in the slim pockets.
I also have a mirror, primer, lipstick and chapstick, Tarte foundation, tweezers, and Trish eye shadow and blush. It does carry a lot of stuff--but I only use this when I go away.
Oh....a caveat of sorts here. I would never have purchased this if it were not for the aggressive S.A. I now avoid Trish McEvoy counters like the plague. I've never, EVER, come across more aggressive (and I use the word aggressive rather than assertive) S.A's than at T.McE. They are brutal. I'm not likin' them.

I have had the older flat/shiny planner in the biggest size, which was great for makeup organization. It is too large to grab and slip in your purse. I recently bought the black quilted in the petite size, and I love it. It hold small pages, and two is enough to hold all of my daily makeup. It has enough room for brushes, mascara, lipstick, eyelash curler, etc. It has a separate compartment for these items, as well as a removable travel case for items while still remaining small enough to grab and go. I love Trish makeup, so this works for me. I suppose you could put any pan of makeup into the magnetic pages, they just wouldn't fit well if they are round.
In addition, she redid the pages since my last planner. they used to be clear and broke easily. They are now black, sturdier, and have a mirror. This is expensive, but once you are set you just by refills on the makeup which isn't that pricey. Love it.

****There is another review for this under the category of "misc beauty tools" with a lot more reviews.***
PROS: If you're into organization, this really keeps your makeup nice. Ingenious design. I got mine a LONG time ago, and it's still in perfect shape. The "Petite" is the smallest one by them. I don't even use the Trish planner pages anymore and just use my own makeup inside.
CONS: They're pretty proud of the design. These aren't cheap. This one runs about $58. Even though paying a big price for anything hurts me badly, this was absolutely worth it for me!!
*****They have three sizes. I believe, the open one in the first picture is the petite (smallest), which this review is for. It accommodates up to 3 Petite Pages, has 4 brush sleeves, and 1 large back pocket, and 1 removable mesh pouch. The dimensions are 5.875 x 3.25 x 4.25 inches.
Info on the other sizes:
The medium-size one is called "the mini." It accommodates up to 3 Mini Pages, has 4 brush sleeves, has 1 large back pocket, has 1 removable mesh pouch. The dimensions are 7.625 x 4 x 5.5 inches.
The largest one is called the "large." (Finally, a name that makes sense.) It accommodates 3-4 Large Pages, has 4 roomy brush sleeves, has 1 large back pocket, has 1 removable mesh pouch.
The dimensions are 8.625 x 4.25 x 6.125 inches.

I have used the Trish planners in every size, but I find that the petite size is perfect! I can get all my makeup including foundation, my lash curler and brushes in this case....you have to position the curler just right on the inside or it wont fit, but I make it work without stretching out the planner at all. It is small so its great for traveling, I have two planners one is set up for travel and is always fresh and filled ready to go and the other I use daily. This really was a life saver for me, its so organized, easy to use and makes my routine so much faster in the morning.

I have a large planner, but mainly use my petite planner for short vacations. I occasionally toss it in my purse if I have plans after work. I keep only one page inside and add my shadows and liner before my trip. I purchased a few key petite brushes to use with the planner. It's a very convenient tool, and it helps save so much room when traveling. My makeup doesn't get crushed or broken, either. The pouch is large enough to add a lipstick, gloss, and a pressed powder. I'd say it's the ultimate travel bag or touchup kit for everyday.

I travel frequently and love my petite planner. I have the mid-size, too and this was a gift from my mom. Since Trish has come out with a cream foundation that fits (and I actually like) this is the perfect solution for me! I will agree with the early comments that if you do not like Trish's products this might not be the best solution for most.

I love this planner and could not disagree more about her eyeshadows!! I love her shadows more than any other line! They are great colors, soft, easily blended and last forever. I also really like her blushes!
I am NOT a MAC fan at all. I have tried and tried since it is inexpensive, however it just does not do it for me! The colors are too extreme and vivid and I find them very unwearable.

I have this in Ruby and I adore this color. I love Trish brushes, but I'm not crazy about her makeup. I bought this planner for my TM mini brushes. Still need to figure out what I'm going to put in the pages though.

I like the planner but like other viewers, I just don't like enough of her products. I also have the mac pro pan which I don't like as well, however mac eyeshadows are better, wish the mac eyeshadows fit in the TM planner , then I would be lovin it :)

I agree w/the reviewer below...I have never spent so much on makeup in my life...and I really didn't like ANY of Trish's makeup...it's average to below-average, so it didn't make the planner worthwhile. :-(
I wish she'd make planners compatible with other brands or that someone would come up w/the planner idea but without their own brand of (mediocre!) makeup!

I spent about $400.00 dollars on this planner and things to fill it. I travel a lot and thought it would be so great to have a tiny little kit I could easily throw in a bag. Well, good idea but not so great in reality. I find that I don't like ENOUGH of her products to fill it with only her brand. The color selection is poor, most of the eyeshadows are shimmery etc. Further, the pages keep falling out and you can't put much else in the planner. It is sold as though you can put one page inside, a set of travel brushes, a few pencils etc. But, you will never get the bag closed with all these items inside it. So, I ended up taking more than one bag anyway which defeated the whole purpose of blowing $400.00 dollars in the first place. The concept is SO great...I just wish she would update her textures and color selection. All this being said I am considering buying a LARGE planner page and buying the everyday MAC faves in the PRO version and sticking them in there for travel. So, I haven't totally given up. My advice would be to make sure you can really put everything you need and LIKE into the planner before shelling out so much cash.

If you don't use a lot of Trish makeup and brushes, this may be just another make up bag to you, and rather an expensive one at that. You really need to buy the planner pages (which annoyingly don't fit many brands except Trish) and her short-handle brushes if you're going to fit a reasonable amount of stuff in it. But if you make the investment, it's amazing how much makeup you can carry in this compact bag. Mine fits three planner pages (powder, bronzer, four blushes, seven eyeshadows), five brushes, tinted moisturiser, concealer, mascara, lip pencil and lip gloss (all Trish). That's all I need for travel to do anything from an everyday to a full-on evening look. And the pockets and pouches keep everything separate and tidy. I also appreciate that if my makeup requirements change, it's easy to replace single colours or products with different ones.
I bought the plain black basic model which is $45, but having checked them out I think the much pricier leather ones are just as good value for money, they're so well made. When my current one starts to look tired I will definitely upgrade.

Trish McEvoy is the answer for anyone who (A) travels a lot and (B) likes to be loyal to one brand. I used to work for a Trish McEvoy counter for a few short months and I have to admit that Trish's planner idea is a brilliant marketing ploy as well as the perfect answer for those who are desperate for a way to organize their makeup. The one thing I don't like about the planner is that you must be a loyal Trish McEvoy user in order for the planner to work for you. I'm a product junkie so my makeup can't all fit in any of her planners (including the Large planner). Fortunately, Trish finally recognized that not everyone uses strictly her products and she came out with a truly brilliant solution: the Ultimate Beauty Organizer. It containts a Mini planner (the medium sized planner), cosmetic bags, refillable containers, and a nice big side pocket so that you can carry all your makeup (Trish and non-Trish) in one big case. The best part is that the Ultimate Beauty Organizer is VERY affordable, which doesn't happen often in this luxury line.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! I bought the Petite planner from Bergdorf's and it is exactly what I've been looking for for ages, but never knew existed until recently. I love the fact that it is customizable in every way - I can pick each and every color and arrange them as I wish. I can take the whole planner with me in my work bag or just one of the pages in a little clutch. The brushes are beautiful and high quality. There are little zip compartments for powder compacts and mini perfume bottles. I am so in love with this product.

I did a swap on MUA to get one of these. I liked it so much I bought a second one on Ebay. Makes it easy to carry all of my makeup staples around town. I had to be creative with my foundation. Trish Mcevoy doesn't have creme foundation shades for us DDD. So, I put some Iman creme-to-powder foundation in a little square pan. Then glued a magnetic on the bottom of the pan. And now I carry my foundation, blush, and eye shadow in my petite planner page. I also found my own brushes, mascara, eye liner, and lipliner to fit into my planner. When I need a touch-up during the day, I have everything with me. ***** UPDATE 4/2/07 *****Have gotten better at creating a bullet-proof face. No need to carry around palette page with foundation, shadow, & blush. I do carry BlackOpal Oil Blotting Powder, clear lip lacquer, lipcolor, brown l/l, tiny mascara, retractable powder brush, and a tiny concealer brush. Everything still fits nicely in the planner.

I just made the switch to Trish McEvoy after much research. I bought the Petite Planer in Mint Green with Pink Interior - It came with a charger and a set of mini brushes. I am traveling on business weekly and this allows me to carry a complete set of makeup with me and I am officially a big fan of TM eyeshadow, brow color, eyeliner, dual finish powder and blush. The planner and charger make my life so easy, and the products work for me.

First I have to say that I am a huge Trish fan. I have tons of Trish makeup. I just bought the Turquoise Petite Planner and it is gorgeous. It is $275 and I have to special order it, but it is worth it. It is so luxurious and pretty. I love her planners but the leather ones are just so beautiful.

I just bought the new mint green with pink interior...beautiful. It's part of a kit that includes a TM brush, very soft. I love the expresso gel liner. I use MAC fluidline usually but found the TM easier to apply. It's a great system and very organized.

if you like to be organized, hate digging around in your drawers or your makeup bag for that one eyeshadow, mascara or what have you... this is the system for you. I have used this system for three years and I absolutely swera by it. It looks like a day timer/ franklin planner and has magnetized planner pages. I am a big fan of Trish McEvoy but you can also put just about any brand's product in this planner as long as it comes in a metal pan. All you have to do is use your hairdryer to heat up the pan. With a thin knife, pry the pan out of the packaging. This does take a little finess. YOu have to wiggle the pan with the knife as you heat it or you will end up craking the makeup in the pan. I love having all of my makeup in one place and neat and tidy.
