Do NOT trust sniffing the bottle! You spray this and at first it is sharp and kinda weird... GIVE IT 10 MINUTES! This is a wonderfully green, clean, unoffensive fragrance. Perfect for work or any occasion. Only a hint of floral, nothing specific.

Gave it a spritz at the mall...it smells sharply of soap, and not the fancy kind. Not horrible by any means, but not my thing. It didn't last very long on my skin.

Back in the '90's I liked this - for whatever reason - and now, I don't. Too "old ladyish" for me. So synthetic. Smells better on a test strip than on my skin. A good friend years ago wore it and loved it so i got a bottle too - and now I never touch it. The bottle is long gone - I probably threw it away years ago.

Weird smell. I don't like it. It smells utterly synthetic. Pungent floral that would likely suit someone who's older.

I've had the exact opposite experience of most reviewers with this fragrance, it seems. I put it on and within an hour it's completely gone! I've tried dousing myself with it as if it's a body splash and it's the same. The fragrance starts out as an intense white floral and then just falls flat on me in a matter of minutes. I may end up using it as a spray for my linens since it does smell good and it was very cheap at Ross.

Cabotine is pleasant enough to sniff on paper. However, some people can wear this, others can't. I'm in the latter group. To my palate & chemistry, this is a floral stinkbomb ... in a bad way. The bottle is even worse. Thankfully it was a super-cheap buy from the clearance bin at Marshall's.
NOTES - blackcurrant, pear, plum, coriander, rose, tuberose, ylang-ylang, ginger lily, hyacinth, heliotrop, fresia, violet, iris, cedar, vanilla, tonka bean, cybet, musk and amber.

To be honest, purchased this full bottle at a thrift store, marked down to $3.99. Thought the bottle very cute and would look nice on my dresser.
That night, after bathing and getting prepared to make love to my dear husband, squirted a bit on myself. HECK, SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
Just one squirt was way, way too much and I ended up taking a wet towel to rid myself of the strong, vile smell.
It burnt my eyes and lost my loving mood. Poor, dear husband.

Cabotine is NOT: Juicy, sweet, warm, or a close to the skin scent. or anything resembling the gourmand scents that are so popular nowadays. Cabotine IS: green, fresh, sharp, floral, a beast when it comes to staying power, it leaves a trail, it smells like nothing that's new today. I live in hot Texas and this is exactly what I need for most of the year when it's scorching out. In over 100 degree weather I do not want to smell like caramel, or vanilla or anything that is going to add the feeling of warmness. Wearing this feels like getting into a bed made up in white linen sheets after a shower and maybe a cool breeze coming in through the window. I LOVE it.

This is an extremely chameleonesque scent. First of all, I have but a few scents that I normally wear--depending on the mood that I am in and also--the season. My all-time, favorite, in the universe scent is pure orange blossom. I shun those scents that advertise themselves as Orange Blossom when they don't smell that way. If I cannot find a pure orange blossom scent then I do without. Presently, I do not have any orange blossom at home except for linen spray, but it doesn't have staying power as a perfume.
Next, my usual go-to scent is Guerlain's L'Instant. I wear it three out of four seasons. Citron d'Vigne by Fresh is my other go-to scent and I love it in warm weather and Jessica McGlintock is my other pretty scent that I put on when the mood strikes me.
So. On to Cabotine: I spritzed a bit of this a while ago while on an expedition to TJ Maxx. Hmmmm... I really liked it and was intrigued.
When I first spritzed, it smelled like fresh white flowers--kind of like a cross between a magnolia, lilly of the valley and camellias. About an hour and a half later, the scent evolved into a kind of spicey scent. I still can't put my finger on it though---it was spicey, but now overwhelmingly spicey--just very subtely spicey with the flowers still coming through. Not heavy at all. I'm not a big fan of spicey scents because they tend to be heavy--but this scent was different. Now stay with me. A few hours later, the scent kept teetering between floral and spicey. Totally knocked me out. I did NOT get a headache which is an A+++++ for a scent. My sinuses are so bad that the only scents I wear are those which do not cause headaches. This Cabotine passed the test.
Anyway, on my next trip to TJ"s I saw another bottle of this Cabotine for $12.99 and picked it up. I've been wearing it for a few weeks now--switching between L'Instant and Citron d'Vigne. Today it is raining so I have my Cabotine on. I'm telling you this scent STAYS on--it does not wear off and that is a great thing. I also love smelling this. Right now It is in it's mix of floral and spicey. I love that.
Listen--I realize this scent isn't for everyone. Scents are just so personal and subjective. In addition, I'm no "nose"--so I cannot tell you what a top note is or a bottom note or any of that technical stuff. However I CAN tell you this--if you are in the mood for a mystifying, enigmatic Mona-Lisa-ish, chameleon type of scent that lasts and lasts and changes and does not give you a headache, you may finding yourself really liking this scent.
This did warrant five lipsticks from my because it is just such a lovely and unusual scent. The price was teriffic and the packaging looks really pretty on my dresser. I smell really nice today!

The first blast is so strong and unpleasant...very green, but a "plant that's been sitting in vase water too long" green, and sharp herbal. I actually jerked my head back after a sniff. The sharpness faded after a while, but it still had the above qualities. This actually smelled the same on my arm as sprayed on paper, but since I really don't like it, that's not a good thing.

Cabotine is my signature scent. The scent is fresh. green with a little hint of sweet but not too much. Have been wearing it for over 5 years exclusively. I've tried new scents but end up going back to Cabotine. People always tell me how good I smell. Men have asked me to write down the name so they can get if for their gf or wife. I only have to spray it on at the beginning of the day and will still get a compliment late into the evening. Love that I can get the 3 oz bottle and lotion gift set at TJ Maxx for under 25.00 and it lasts for months.

I love this scent! Really fresh and green. Some reviewers describe it as "sharp," but I think it has presence. There's no powdery drydown here--this scent reminds me of walking across a freshly-mowed football practice field on a fall afternoon. If you wear Cabotine, you won't smell like everyone else...but IMO, that's a good thing. :)

This one is vile! Too strong and too sharp combination of too many notes along the green floral line. It does not have a theme, it does not develop, it just hangs there like an impenetrable wall of smell (stink?). I love the bottle and the optimistic green flowery cap and I wish my other perfumes had this strength and staying power, but otherwise it is one of the very few that I really despise. Somehow I ended up owning all the products in the line and the only one I was actually able to force myself to use was the shower gel (bit by bit, yuck!). If you absolutely have to wear this one please use the stairway, not the elevator!

This fragrance is somewhat controversial, and rightly so. When you first spray this, it is STRONG can feel overwhelming... like putting it on was a mistake. I've actually sprayed it lightly and then rinsed it off a bit even to get the right scent. Either way, the magic happens after about 10 minutes. The fragrance that this settles into is an intoxicating, green floral with notes of ginger and honey. It's VERY long lasting and this scent will follow you all day. If I'm up for a stronger scent, this is the one I want.

Cute bottle. Shame about the juice.

Another HG, I never allow myself to run out of this!! My mother turned me on to this fragrance about 10yrs ago & it has never left my side since. It what I would classify as a green/clean/flower scent if that makes any sense whatsoever! It is what some consider to be an "older" scent & it lasts forever on me! It certainly attracts the curiosity of most because it seems I am asked "what is that" every time I wear this... not exaggerating every time! This is my secret arsenal if I am attempting to win someone over! :)

Update: I am using it as a restroom aroma now, really have no idea how to finish a bottle of the scent that I do not like at all.
this is a review for the Cabotine bleu.
I got this as a gift. At the first glance, i was very happy with the bottle and stylish packing. when I tried it, I feel disappointed... it did not give me a trendy, young, fresh yet femine smell rather it was simple floural casual scent & it is ARTIFIFAL!. It tended to stay for hours, the aroma barely changed when it suppsed to. I do not know if it is only me or it is designed to be.
It claims to be Watery fruits and flowers, with a dry-down to musk. I am not going to repurchase no matter what.

My review is about Fleur de Cabotine fragrance.
I bought it at TJMaxx because price was great ( 9,99 $ ), I didn't have any Gres perfumes and I got curious.
Perfume smells green and sweet and soapy at the same time, honestly there is nothing to get excited about and scent itself reminds me of drugstore inexpencive perfumes. Even though the bottle looks cute, it goes back to TJMaxx.
