I don't think this product is as amazing as everyone thinks. It is a chemical exfoliant (in case you aren't aware of what this is, a normal exfoliant has bead like particles in it and usually salicylic and/or glycolic acids which are fruit acids basically, and you use it to scrub away at your dead skin cells and unblock pores.
A chemical exfoliant is an exfoliant you apply as a liquid or mask and leave on for either a short amount of time or over night while acids rather eat away at the dead skin cells so you don't have to scrub at your skin and damage it!)
Alpha H Liquid gold is a liquid formula that's best applied sparingly on a cotton swab, avoiding the eye area and is supposed to be left on all night, and used on bare skin after cleansing with no moisturiser on top (this makes product work more effectively apparently). It does exfoliate skin effectively and I do see results from it when I use it accordingly (which I haven't been doing recently), I almost feel like it's quite good at reducing/keeping blemishes at bay, but I don't feel like it's enough for my skin. I use it maybe twice a week as well as my Clarasonic Mia once a week, and I feel like I still need a normal exfoliator once a week to keep my skin from looking dull. It can also be quite harsh (according to some people but my skin isn't too sensitive so I've had no problems with it personally), it feels very tingly when applied on its own onto skin which I'm not sure whether I like or dislike this!, overall, its efficient and worth the money ($50 AUD), but I kind of don't understand the amazing hype around it! It didn't make my skin astonishingly clear and glowy and amazing and what not, I also don't like the packaging very much, kind of bulky and unattractive, and the lid spills a little bit of product around the edges which annoys me sometimes. I think everyone should own a chemical exfoliator, though. This is the first one I've tried (been using it for about 5 months). I only wouldn't re purchase though because I want to try to REN one next!

Great for resurfacing and radiance, but I did not find it effective on my areas of hyperpigmentation despite having used it for several weeks. Once you've been using it a while it might be tempting to use more on your skin for quicker results - DON'T! Your skin will react (mine did) ...

Applying liquid (that consists of an acid) to your face after cleansing it and not applying moisturiser is initially disconcerting. ...But this product works - amazingly so.
Despite doing my research I was initially wary about using this product but I'm so glad that I tried it as there has been an improvement in my skin.
On application my skin feels taut but the next morning (I apply this before bed) the result is clear, smooth skin that feels comfortable and healthy.
In addition to lovely looking and feeling skin since using AlphaH Liquid Gold my hormonal breakouts have disappeared.
I love the results, like that the price is reasonable - and dislike the packaging; so cheap and unappealing!
I've been recommending this product to anyone who will listen to me as it is a staple part of my skin-care regime and I couldn't be happier with the results.

This is is the sort of product that you don't necessarily notice that it's doing anything until you stop using it. I used Liquid Gold consistently for about a year, loved my glowing, radiant skin enjoyed all of the compliments but then for some reason I got complacent and moved on to something else. To cut a long story short my skin was okay using the other products, but not flawless. So I went back to LG, and only after using it for a week I notice the difference, the clarity and softness of my skin. I do use other products so I can't put it all down to LG, but it is a very big part of the success and I will always have it in my arsenal. Foundation and make up for me now is optional.

Skincare for the professional woman- A leap of faith by a Nurse!
Ok so lets start at the beginning when the future was bright and beautiful… before the dreaded words “anti-aging” ever popped into our heads and we associated it with our grannies and their pots of eye creams!
When we’re younger we believe that we can look good at any age and the demon of “anti-aging” products will never show itself.
I can tell you right now I was wrong! Since passing my 25th Birthday I have discovered how important skin care actually is to avoid premature ageing and looking 40 when im in my 20′s -trust me this happens! I’m a nurse working in a busy hospital with long shifts and little time off to rest. This does not help when you work with a bunch of women who discuss people’s ages and how old or young they look for their age.
On further examination I found that physiologically skin starts to change from 25 onwards causing the rate of cell renewal to slow down (when skin sheds to make way for new skin cells.) In addition sadly premature aging can be sourced from a variety of factors such as; sun damage, smoking, pollution, and even genetics!
After hearing this, i’ll hold my hands up I went straight online to research a variety of products and Alpha H liquid gold just seemed like a stand out product for me which has been raved about by beauty bloggers for the last few years including Ruth from ‘ A Model Recommends’. I know what you are thinking…. 25 may seem very young to be starting anti-aging skincare but after hearing the potential benefits I was all for it!
Alpha H liquid Gold promises to stimulate the skins natural renewal cycle, whilst smoothing and refining, removing dead skin cells, reducing hyperpigmentation from scarring and acne and helping to reduce breakouts. A lot to ask from a product? Yes I thought so!
Happily though I was very much mistaken. Having combination /dry /sensitive skin, which is occasionally blemish prone with hyperpigmentation from previous breakouts, I thought this product would perhaps be too harsh and cause dryness and/or irritatation but it was brilliant! After initally using it I found my skin was soft and smooth the next day but more importantly within 7-12 days my skin was blemish free, plumper with hyperpigmented areas reduced dramatically.
Ive been using it every other night without using moisturiser (although you can if you wish). I've been solely using this for 3 months now with no contraindications found to give the best review possible and to be 100% truthful. Although the main thing to remember is that this is a resurfacing and exfoliating treatment so SPF protection is needed during daylight hours.
I can’t imagine not using this product and have had amazing feedback on how clear and full my skin is which has lead to me recommending 5 friends who love it just as much as I do! Its perfect for women in their 20′s who want something to prevent anti aging and keep skin clear and glowing!

I would love to like this product, and I don't want to be negative, but I was very dissapointed with it.
Liquid Gold did not do anything bad to my skin, but I have been using it for two weeks now and I struggle to see any effect from it- not the 'Holy Grail' miracle product that I was promised by pretty much every beauty blogger and glowing review on the internet.
Maybe if you have good skin already then this could brighten it, and perhaps it is good for anti ageing, but I am 20 and it has not done anything for my blemishes, scars and large pores like I was promised.
I wish I hadn't spent 30- something pounds on this! Do better Alpha H!

I recently finished my bottle of Ultraceutical Even Skin Tone Serum, which i really liked. Silly me, made the classic mistake of thinking, 'I can do better' and after reading what felt like a million glowing reviews of Liquid Gold i thought i'd give it a go. I will also preface this by saying that i have used plenty of glycolic/lactic/ salicylic acid products and have always had good results and little complication with them.
But.......I really should have paid more attention to the ingredients - the alcohol content in this burns to buggery. I'm not entirely sure if the active ingredients in this are effective, All i've got to show for it is a layer of scaled and dry skin around the lower part of my face. The oilier upper parts of my face don't seem to have been affected so badly, but then i'm also not noticing any marked improvement either.
Either way, this is another fail for me. I've never had any luck with Alpha-H products and can't believe i thought this would be different. I might continue to use it on my elbows or feet - how much harm could it do there. right?

Disappointed with this. I used it for over a month, every other night, applying it with a dry cotton pad. The first week or so I got the expected tingle, but that stopped with later applications. And, tingle or no, I noticed no change whatsoever with my skin. Maybe it's because my skin is pretty well exfoliated anyway due to my daily cleansing using muslin cloths?? (Anyway, my bottle didn't go to waste - I find the formulation is useful for removing fake tan streaks! But I certainly wouldn't repurchase it solely for this purpose!!)

I have been using liquid gold for maybe 3-4 months now and it is honestly one of the best skincare products I own. As someone with temperamental, sensitive and dry skin I wasn't sure about this but used once or twice a week it does all my exfoliating for me. I've completely ditched exfoliating with granule face washes etc, it is honestly that good! It is expensive but I really wouldn't be without it anymore, it just does the job wonderfully and I've never experienced any bad side effects or irritation. For me it's a bit of a wonder product as it gets rid of those niggling flaky bits of skin that seem to pop up mid week or when my skin is grey and a bit dull, using this really clarifies it and perks it up. Nothing bad to say about it really other than for the price the packaging could be a bit snazzier, but that's nitpicking really.

I've very mixed feelings about this product. It has been raved about on youtube, here on MUA and blogs for its refining properties, acne-clearing and anti-aging properties also. First off it is an exfoliator it contains Glycolic Acid. I wanted to try it because I dont like abrasive, scrubby exfoliators. They are ridiculous and harsh on all skins-they are just a bad idea in my book.
Back to Liquid Gold, I really works to firm the skin and it exfoliates well. You apply it at night every other day and over time you should see results. I am not sure about it though. I suffer from rosecea and it seems to flare it up upon application. Another downside is it contains quite a lot of Alcohol. It hasn't been clearing acne really at all also.
I wanted to really like it but sadly for me it only firmed my skin and exfoliated it. Didn't live up to all the claims but there you go.
Anyone who loves it please get in touch and let me know what it does for you?

Before using this, you have to make sure that your skin is totally dry, otherwise it doesn't work.
In order to see the optimum results you have to use this constantly for a few weeks because the more you use it the more dead skin cells are exfoliated. Plus, pores become tighter and scars fade gradually (but not entirely-yet)

I decided to try Liquid Gold after hearing Ruth from amodelrecommends rave about it. I managed to get a 2 for 1 deal and was very excited. Honestly, I'm pretty happy with this, 4 lipsticks happy. I am acne prone and although the Trilogy Rosehip Oil I've been using has really helped with my acne, if I use it every night it makes me break out. Alternating this every second night really seems to be working.
This is a brilliant chemical exfoliant. In my experience, chemical exfoliants don't give you that "Wow" that physical/granular exfoliants do. It's a lot more subtle than that so don't expect to wake up with magically amazing skin. What it does do is pull your skin into line but it takes time and you have to be careful what you use it with (like other reviewers suggest, SPF!!). As for the packaging, does it matter what the car looks like if it still gets you where you need to go?

I absolutely love this product! I use it every other night after cleansing my face-just apply it on with cotton pad. I do not use moisturizer afterwards and, strangely, I don't have any tingling sensation as many people do. In the beginning I was pretty skeptical about putting anything with "Acid" on my face and leaving it on without moisturizer, but it does wonders to my skin! I do not break out any more, mu pores are nearly invisible, skin is smoother and the best effect - my acne scars are much much lighter! it doesn't feel dry or tight and in the morning skin looks beautiful! now I look so much better that I can leave house without foundation on - something I haven't done in years.. Absolutely love it!!!

First time using this last night. Used it alone without any moisturizer. I am using this to help with skin pigmentation and dullness. Skin feels soft in the morning and does seem more fresh. My skin tends to have rosacea but this did not cause any allergic reaction. Did not dry it out either although there is alcohol in the list of ingredients. I hope it will deliver what it promises with regular use and will update this post again after a few weeks.

I tried this as part of a kit and was able to sell one item on ebay to help pay for the rest.
I agree with previous reviewer, the ingredients are not great - water, alcohol, glycerin and nowhere do they say what the % of glycolic acid is (5% I think).
I have been using this for a couple of weeks with no discernible results but will carry on using the 50ml bottle I have. Glad I didn't buy a larger one.
Their Rejuenvating cream or Liquid gold smoothing mask have a higher % of glycolic acid in them.
I also have a moisturiser which is mainly dimethicone so am a little disappointed in this range. Unforutunately in the UK you can't find the ingredients until you buy some (or read a site like this). It is very expensive for what it is too but there are a lot of positive reviews on QVC and you can usually get what you want from ebay for a lot less.

Alpha H are a cosmeceutical brand, for use by estheticians and so the packaging is far from fancy. Would you rather buy a product for its contents or its packaging? Liquid Gold is my first foray into this brand which I have wanted to try for a long time but been scared of using any glycolic acids (no idea why). It smells slightly off, its not unpleasant but its not pretty. The smell fades fast though and if used overnight who is going to notice? My husband certainly hasn't! You soak a cotton pad and sweep over your face, neck & decollete 2-3 times a week (for those not used to glycolic acids use a dampened pad). I am only using this on my face as this is purely for de-congesting my skin. It will also help brighten your complexion, help smooth out fine lines, add firmness, eradicate blackheads and spots, fade discoloration and pigmentation and in some cases address open pores. For me its all about the lumps, bumps, spots and clogs that pop up daily and cannot be extracted (by mask or tool). I have been loving and using Avene Cleanance K (the results just kept on getting better) but it seemed to stall and those darn lumps & sebum plug clogs came racing back :( I got this and within a week the lumps have smoothed out. Overall texture is better and concealer glides on. I will report back when I have used this for a month. You MUST wear an SPF daily when using such a resurfacing product. I use a SPF30. So far great stuff :) and I will definitely buy more!
