I have the nude beach lip guard. I LOVE the color and consistency...however, after process of elimination, I have finally determined that this would-be fabulous lip gloss is what is causing my lips to chap and burn.

It sucks. After a few hours of application, my lips get SO SO chapped that they take a couple of weeks to feel somewhat normal again. And it's not caused by anything else, I have actually spent the last three months testing each lip gloss to figure out which one it is. I suspected it was this one since the first time it happened was right after the first time i used it. I dont think I've heard of anyone else having this problem so maybe it's the batch I got...but I will definitly NOT be trying a new one just to be sure. What a drag, since this is such a nice gloss.

I have this in Miami Beach which is a medium, non sparkly pink. The consistiency of this lipgloss is great -- not sticky at all and very light but stays on my lips for a few hours. I like the color, but after having it awhile I feel it's not really deep enough for me personally as I like a deeper tone on my lips (so minus one lippie). That said these are definitely worth checking out to see if there's a color for you -- because of the staying power, non stickiness and very comfortable applicator. Nice gloss.

I have this product in Stinson Beach and its the perfect nude on me, I have these in the handy 5ml size and also the 15ml size which lasts ages. These are not gloopy at all and the applicator makes application so easy. It's quite creamy and moisturising, I NEVER want to be without this and the SPF15 is an added bonus too. Great price for lots of product!

I am very fond of this lipgloss. I have it in Miami Beach which is a lovely pink color, not too dark or too light. The texture is smooth and it is not sticky. There is a light lemon smell but no taste. The sponge applicator is also nice. I love that it has UVA/UVB protection and I plan on buying more of these in different colors. This definitely is right up there as one of my favorite lipglosses!

I got the Bare Beach Lip Guard from the Moxie Set. I really like it! It's tasteless but has a lemony scent which is unusual and appealing to me. I love the texture -- very moisturizing. The color is a bare nude which is nice for day but will probably work best for people with fair complexion. It looks ok on me, but I think I will try the darker shades.

I also have this in bare beach from the moxie set. I thinks its a nice natural color, has minimal glitter, you really have to look to see the glitter, but it also makes it multi deminsional. But... I dont really like pinks honestly. And this is a natural fleshy pink, with gold or orange ?? glitter. My favorite lip colors are berry colors, and my hg at the moment is lilac sugar from bobbi brown. But that said, this is very nice, big tube, and is it just me or does this smell like lemonade ???. The other thing I would change, although if i liked the color, wouldn't keep me from buying again, is the tube isnt the prettiest or even cute really. But, thats ok. Is still feels good on though. Not sticky or goopy. And the spf 15 is also good. :)

I love the colour of the Bare Beach lip guard. It's a nice muted medium pink on my pigmented lips, that has a citrusy scent and is moisturizing as well.

The lip guard has a lot of slip so it makes sense that it comes in a squeeze tube with a fuzzy tip applicator (well, scratchy at first, but then it softens with use). Since there is quite a bit of of product; .5 fl oz./15ml, I imagine a tube will last for quite a while.

I purchased my off eBay for approx $6, so it's a fair price for the amount you get and for something that contains both UVA and UVB protection at SPF15; many lip products that are sold as SPFwhatever number refers to UVB (UVA protection is not neccessarily included).

Very happy with my bare beach lip guard. Will repurchase in the future.

I've never used BE products before but am a major lipgloss junkie - picked up the Lip guard in Stinson Beach and really like it! The color is a nice neutral - it has a pleasant slightly citrus taste, love the spongy applicator & it has SPF.

As popular as glosses are, I've never totally embraced the glossy lip look. The BE Lip Guards are a fabulous alternative. They are shiny, but not sticky or goopy. I love the foam applicator. It keeps me from using too much.

I have the lip guards set (minus the two coolest colors that I gave to a girlfiend) and the Bare Beach color that came with the Moxie set. I love the look of Bare Beach with a little neutral liner for an almost no-makeup look. And it looks really good with Soft Focus Glee on the cheeks.

I think the small size of the Jr. Lip Guards is great for sticking in a pocket. And I am very fickle about colors, so lots of small tubes are much better than one large tube for me.

Nice going, BE!

Love it!! its the perfect blend of lipstick and gloss in one.
I hate wearing lipstick or the look of "i'm wearing lipstick"I like to have the very subtle natural look. Pity is, that I have NO color on my lips. This gives me a very natural look and natural color. Love it.

The color I have is Palm Beach.

I have the Lip Guard in Miami Beach. Miami Beach is warm pink, very natural, sweet looking color for people w/ light/medium skintone. I like the fact that the lip guard has SPF 15 and compare with other lip product that has SPF 15 (such as BB lip tint), it doesn't have a chemical smell. I take off a star, because the texture of lip guard is very smooth, it has slightly gritty texture. I don't regret buying it, but it doesn't wow me enough for a repurchase.

I LOVE my BE Lip Guard SPF15. Right now I have the Stinson Beach and in fact have turned 2 other folks onto it as well. I plan to maybe try the packaged 6 colors - or a couple of them separately as I'm not sure what colors will work best for me. I tend to shy away from cool tones.

It goes on beautifully - I love the sponge applicator personally. It gives me more control as I apply and ensures that I don't "go over" my lip line and smear it on my face. There is a very slight scent/taste - and it's fairly nondescript and pleasant. The color is not as sheer as I first thought it was going to be - which I love. And it lasts a good amount of time.

It doesn't feel heavy or waxy or "thick" when it's on your lips. the packaging is very attractive as well. I love the idea that I'm protecting my lips as well as hydrating.

I would highly recommend this product to ANYONE that wanted a nice gloss all year round - not just for summer in my book. Forget that awful Buzz Latte Lip Balm - THIS is the product you want to try!!!

EDITED January 2008 - While I do still love the color and the application - I found that I could not wear this lip balm after a couple of weeks. My lips seemed to chap and/or burn. However my friends that I'd recommended it to have had NO problems and LOVE it. My skin and lips have just gotten sensitive recently. However, I would purchase again if I had not have had that reaction.

I thought I was going to dislike the lip guards because I assumed they were going to be somewhat matted. I was completely wrong. I love them! I wear the Palm Beach and it is so gorgeous. It is the perfect coral/pink lip gloss that I have every tried. I also love that the color and shine lasts for hours. It is definitely my new fave from Bare Escentuals.

This is a set of SPF 15 liglosses with color from Bare Essentuals. There's a total of 6 and it retails $38. I got mine at ULTA. All the colors are wearable and neutral and are not as sheer as some other SPF lipglosses (Bobbi Brown). The consistency is smooth, moisturizing, not drying at all. Each tube has a sponge tip applicator, which isn't my favorite, I prefer just the plastic applicator. The color lasts pretty well, maybe 3 hours before I have to reapply. I like that there is no obvious taste or residue. I plan to take it on vacation this summer.

The colors are as follows:
Palm Beach: a neutral rose
Miami Beach: Neutral pink (less bright than Palm Beach)
Cocoa Beach: Shimmery bronze
Stinson Beach: Paler shimmery bronze/gold
Newport Beach: Plum
Pebble Beach: brownish rose
