I bought this product last summer because my legs are super pale, and I thought I was going to get like the perfect tan color, but unfortunately I was so disappointed with the ridiculously orange color it gave me, and apparently I missed some spots, and my legs looked so ridiculous. I wasn't able to wear shorts or skirts for about 3 weeks because I was embarrased. You are better off going to a tanning salon and having a professional person to do an spray tanning.

I bought this online (CVS.com) because I couldn't find it in any local drugstore. Here are the pros and cons, IMO:

Pros: Pretty good color, not too orange. Dries in 20 minutes. Simple to use. Does not dry out skin. Smell fades to nothing after a few hours. Useful for covering the upper back. Can be sprayed upside down. No rubbing, ergo no stained palms, no gloves needed. Classy looking bottle. Very little stickiness, no mess, (although I advise applying it outdoors because you don't want to spray this stuff all over your bathroom). Great way to tan the backs of hands. Long lasting color.

Cons: Takes 24 hours to develop. Because the mist is invisible it's very difficult to know where you've covered and where you haven't. This always lead to weird bare patches. Also, if you spray too closely or too heavily, tanner trickles down in a thin stream, which you won't know until it's too late. This is especially a problem on the legs. (I even had it applied on me by someone else, figuring they'd be able to cover me better, but the results were just as bad.) A lot of product is wasted from being sprayed into the air when directing it at narrow targets like arms and legs. You have to build the color over several applications - sez so right on the bottle. You only get a few tans per $10 bottle. Bottle is small. This is an expensive way to get a lousy result.

Conclusion: I really like the idea of a spray for my torso, back and the back of hands but will continue to use conventional rub-on tanners with instant color (like St. Tropez mousse) for arms and legs because it's less wasteful, therefore less expensive. And I'm really not amused by how impossible it is to get an even tan with this stuff. I've used two bottles and I'm fed up. I'm going to try Sephora's Bronzing Mist next.

If you decide to buy it, remember you're looking for the metallic bronze bottle NOT the yellow/orange bottle. I think some of the reviews are actually for the yellow/orange bottle, which seems to be universally loathed.

This is one of the better self tanning products I've tried (and I've tried many!) It gets major bonus points for ease of application. I'm able to fully cover my body in about 2 minutes, without messing up my hands! The color is pretty natural-looking too. It's not an intense deep color though, so if you're looking to appear like you just came back from Mexico, this isn't the product for you. The smell isn't so bad either--much better than most self tanners I've used.

My minor complaints about this product are as follows:

1. The bottle is too small. There's only enough in the can for a couple applications
2. The product "settles" downward when you spray so your feet will end up tanner than the rest of you

Overall, it's a good product. I will buy again.

So far so good with this. I was using BE Faux Tan Moisturizer. Loved the color but the problem with it and any lotion is that you have to wash your hands, which lead to splotchy hands/palms. This spray eliminates the need to use your hands. It sprays at any angle. And like it says on the bottle, you only need a light misting. I've also used on my face with no problems.
EDIT: I've discontinued using this due to the fact that it discolored my nails.

This is officially my favorite self tanner! I have already repurchased :) It is super easy and quick to apply, dries fast, doesn't smell too bad, and develops to the most natural color ever! I've never gotten splotchy from this before, and that is a definite feat for me. I love it and I will continue to buy it!

ok so i tried the other sublime bronze, NOT this one. i think its called properfect or something. the bottle is like an orangy yellow color. anyways. that one sucked!!! i neer had a problem with orange tans untill that one. even my friends told me it looked orange. so i was obviously in the search of a new spray tan. i decided to try this one. after i put it on i accidently bent my arms for a long time and when it dried it didnt even have splotches there. it looked so natural that i wasnt sure if i had gotten tanner but my mom told me i looked tanner. so i have been using it the past week and it gives me a really natural healthy tan! and i like that its gradual. so that even if i overapply it doesnt look blotchy, streaky, or orange! the color of it it reallly good. its not too yellow like some other tanning sprays/creams ive tried, but its not orange like the other loreal sublime bonze tan. this one iiss amazing! you have to make sure to get the one in the metallic golden bottlee.

nice color, easiest application and doesnt smell too bad. The only thing is, the fade terribly!! I'm left looking like a leopard. I exfoliate well, but still the fading is so terrible. Also, this spray is NOT good to ingest. It gave me a very sore throat. BUTTT the color is SO great and it is the EASIEST self tanner to use by far, so if you have lots of open space to apply this in, I would go for it. I have a 5X5 bathroom that I share with roommates, so it's not ideal- I can't even leave the door open to ventilate lol. I've NEVER seen any streaks with this. The application is basically foolproof!

This stuff is great. I love that I don't have to rub it in and it is so easy to apply. The color is nice, not orangy and it lasts. I would give it a 5 except that sometimes my feet get too dark. UPDATE- this stopped working for me.

ok, so I consider myself an expert in the area of self tanners ...I'm 1/2 Irish, very fair and have been using self tanners since the early 90s. The key is no rubbing and post hand scrubbing....this is BOTH. Because there's no rubbing, there's very little or no streaking and if applied carefully, no handwashing is required afterward...shut up!!!! YAY L'Oreal!!
All self tanners I've used are ultimately stinky because of the required chemical reaction, so I'm used to that. There are stinkier products out there for sure (than this L'Oreal mist) but I'll trade temporarily stinky for 3 days of even color any day and Sunday. The only complaint I have is I'd love a larger can for the price, but overall the best I've used so far.

I've been using loreal sublime bronze for some time now (about 2 years) and i have found that it is probably the best drug-store self-tanner out there. I love how the mist is super fine and it can spray at any angle, even upside down, but i disliked the fact that the spray really tended to "stick" to unwanted areas like in the elbow creases even after blending. The mist is clear so it can also be a pain to get a totally even application and i found the drying time to be about 10 minutes. Overall this product will give you good color for a decent price if you take the pains of a careful application.

Ladies (and gents), I don't know about this one. I prefer the lotion of this product to the spray mist.

After reading all the rave reviews on here, I tried it out myself. The results were mediocre - not great, as I expected. If you do not have good experience (or any experience) with spray tans, I wouldn't recommend this product. It's NOT "mystic tan in a bottle". I felt like I didn't have much control over how evenly it was going on, and I had no idea where it was after it was on me because it dries so quickly. The pump is a little hard to control, too. As a result, I had some splotches of uneven color. Maybe with better dexterity (or more experience), I'd have better results -- but I probably won't re-purchase, because even though it is fairly inexpensive (around $10/bottle at CVS), I hate looking "fake" and nothing says "I'm using a FAKE tanner" more than uneven color. (The actual color, however, gets a 10/10 -- very natural, no orange.)

The "self-tanner" smell is no different than the lotion version, for those who are concerned about such things. I wear this stuff just before going to bed, let it dry and wake up with a tan. Or a slightly uneven one in this case. For more control, I'll skip the spray and opt for the lotion next time. 4/5 stars.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff!!! I have super pale skin that looks just awful without any color. So, my adventures in self-tanning are many. And either products give me no color at all or they turn me orange. This stuff is a nice balance. No orange, just bronze perfection. I do warn you not to apply too much especially the first time becuase all skin is different and you don't want to turn yourself orange. What i really like about this is the staying power though. I can apply and have it last about 4 days with regular showers of course. It also fades gradually so you arent golden one day and starkly pale again the next. I really love this stuff and will continue to buy as long as they make it.

This is my absolute favorite self tanner EVER. I have been experimenting with self tanners for the past couple years and have tried alot of different ones. I am EXTREMELY pale (the kind of pale that redheads are; but im not a redhead) and skin cancer runs in my family so that means no sun tanning for me.

Anyway I had been using Jergens for awhile but i stopped because i absolutely hated the color of it. It always turned me an orangish-brown; not bright orange but enough orange-y ness to where it showed up in natural light. Once when I wore a skirt to school a boy yelled out "I like your orange spray tan!". Awful. So began the hunt for a better self tanner.

After looking at about a zillion reviews for different products on makeup alley, I finally discovered this one. I was so convinced that it would be perfect that I made my mom drive around to different stores until we finally found it. I bought two because they looked small and I remembered people saying they ran out fast.

Initially, the application wasn't amazing - I applied it everywhere and it ended up mostly even except for the lower part of my legs.

I suggest applying it by moving it slowly in lines. Don't rush it or it may turn up uneven.

I think I've applied about 4 applications and I am a very nice dark color. It looks extremely natural - not orangish in the slightest; even in natural light. It looks just like you've gone and laid out in the sun. Personally, its a huge accomplishment if a self tanner doesn't turn me orange because of how extremely pale I am. I'm so pale that when I'm not wearing any self tanner at all, my mom looks at me and goes "ohmygoodness, are you sick? Why are you so incredibly pale?"

The scent is very very faint when first applying it - and it does NOT show up later at all. Even if you apply this in the morning before school or work, you will not go through the day smelling like self-tanner.

Its extremely important to wait for this to dry before really moving or putting on any sort of clothing. To me this seems obvious - but my sister used some and apparently did not wait for it to dry. The result was alot of it ended up coming off and she was very unhappy.

Both my sister and my mom were extremely doubtful of this stuff. My sister and I applied it in the same night, but she decided she didn't like it and went back to using Jergens. I contined to apply another 3 layers.

Now my sister is slightly orange and jealous of how tan I am and how natural I look. She is scrubbing off her 'Jergens tan' as quickly as possibly. My mom is also complimenting me on how tan I am and is wanting to give it a try as well. Previously she was saying there was no way it could result in a good tan and that she had used spray self tanners before and the result was always uneven.

I wasn't sure if you could, but I applied it to my face as well. I simply closed my eyes and sprayed. The result was even and natural. It did not make my eyebrows orange.

I like the spray alot better then a cream. The only thing that could possibly improve this product would for it to be cheaper and also bigger. It cost about $10 each.

And they really do not last long at all - After 4 applications for my body, 3 for my face, and also my sister's application; a bottle was completely empty. Luckily I still have one left. I plan on buying 5 or so at once next time.

Sorry for the long review haha I simply want to make sure to be thorough because this product seriously deserves it. (:

I have used this in the past and really liked it alot. I ran out so I bought Toma's Tan at Sally's the other day. I used it and it does not measure up to this. This is a spray that you are not supposed to rub in; however, I have found the need to rub it in after I am finished spraying. When I rub it in, it does not streak and looks good. I am really fair so I will use this to look decent in capri pants and walking shorts this time of year before I get out in the sun to obtain some color.

Love, love, love this self tanner! It is gradual, but much faster results than Jergens Nautral Glow products. After two uses it gave me great color. The product dries fairly quickly also...so no walking around the house in the buff waiting to dry! I did not experience any streaking either. I definitely recommend this product! ;-)

This is my #1 HG product for summer. I LOVE this self tanner. I have a naturally warm complexion, but when I use this, even just once, people do not believe that it's self tanner. It's so light, easy to use and dries almost instantly. This is how I do it. I stand on a towel in the bathtub and without moving my feet, I spray my whole body (so take a wide stance!) and then, I will step out of the bathtub - and you must not reuse the towel because then the soles of your feet with be really ugly tanned. This product smells great and one bottle probably lasts me a week, if I spray every other day...It's the most natural one on the market - and I think people are onto my secret because it's so hard to find now!!

Wow, a great product. I hated the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbursh tanner - talk about streaky and orange. This product however is virtually impossible to streak and provides me just the right amount of coverage. It IS a gradual self-tanner, but it works faster than Jergens Natural Glow. I have a nice golden color. My feet, which are usually corpse blue/white, come out a nice natural color if treated very lightly. As with any super-white feet, they can go too orange if not careful with the product. This will be my go-to tanner. I find it on the same Target aisle that has tanners, but not with them - down the aisle with the skin creams.

I've been using this for months and decided it was time to give it a review :-) This is THE BEST self-tanner I have ever used, and I've tried A LOT of them. It's impossible to screw the application up, even on my pale skin, so I never end up with orange streaks or anything that would give away that my glow actually comes from a can ;-) I just spray it on at arms length like it says, and b/c the mist is SO fine and lightweight, I get the most natural looking tan, I actually get the same shade as I would from tanning in the sun. The only thing that bugs me, is that one can doesn't last very long, so it can get pricey...but still worth it for the beautiful results!

I found this product through previous MA reviews and love it! I have it in medium. Strengths: you can spray from any direction including upside down, mist is very fine, no lingering smell, makes my skin brown (nor orangy), no streaking, find that it works better on my upper body than lower, can use older product and still works fine. Weaknesses: stand in the shower to spray this as it settles on the floor, no need to spray your feet as they will get enough of the mist on them from when you spray your body, find it doesn't work as well on my legs as my upper body, looks obviously wet on your skin after you spray (however it dries very quickly). I used to tan at the lake and have gone total self-tanning products this year and am very happy with the dark brown tone this gives my skin. Also, I bought this product last summer and found I was still having a hard time not going to the lake, this year I found the canister in the back of my cabinet and pulled it out. It works great and its a year old.
