OK, I hate the packaging. Way too easy to tip and spill. Having said that...I LOVE the product. I do lots of spreadsheet and computer work so I keep my nails shortish, but I make presentations and want my nails to look groomed and professional. Housework and kids make manicures last about, hmmm, maybe 20 minutes? So this stuff is the solution. It is not shiny, it's a soft glow like buffing will give. It's very watery and dries in about 30 seconds. It won't peel, just kinda wears off. This is NOT for you if you want a high gloss shine, but if you're a low-maintenance nail gal like me, yet you still want them to look nice, give this stuff a try. I won't use anything else.

Me too. Okay, I don't like the packaging either (funny stiff brush, bottle too tall and skinny and easy to knock over), but two coats of this makes my nails look groomed when I can't bring myself to sit still for a real manicure and dries just about instantly to a low sheen. I use the pink tint.

Fantastic for when I don't have have time to do a proper manicure. Dries almost instantly to a lovely natural buffed looking shine. It gradually fades away too, instead of chipping. Highly recommended.

I have this in pink tint, and clear. I love it. I always have to have something on my nails, but don't always have time to paint on three coats of polish and then wait. That's where this comes in. It adds a nice sheen, and It dries under 30 seconds (not exactly instant, but close enough) so I can look put together very quickly. Love that!

I've had this for time and barely touch it. I would use it on bare nails an it wouldn't do too much. Tonite I applied sum cg polish and it seemed to take longer than usual to dry. I layered a glitter over a neon. I applied one swipe of this per nail and it really helped my polish dry faster. I'd only buy this on sale. On the brush, I could see sum polish color but my nails looked fine. The bottle said instant nail finish so I figured it mite wrk for polish. I haven't read all reviews for this but the ones I did read didn't mention anything about using this over nail polish, but I wrks to help it dry faster, so y not!!

i have this in the pink tint.

i'm a full time student, and ballroom dancer with a job as well - which means unless it's the holidays i will never get the required time to finish painting & letting my nails dry and so on.

i manage to keep my toenails in check but that's only because polish there lasts longer than a manicure...

because of my constant typing and genetically weak nails (peeling, breaking off), manicures never last more than 2-3 days, even if i try the most long-wearing polishes and a top coat every day.

that being said, this is a great product if you want a put-together look that makes your nails look clean and groomed, and helps fortify my nails (they peel less with this product). this is a very natural look, no extreme shine or anything, but that's ok with me, because when it chips it's less noticeable than most polishes.

i put on 2-3 coats, and it dries in seconds, but i HATE the oblong container it comes in. it is awful. if you're not careful, it tips and spills all over the place - kind of annoying for something that is supposed to be used on the go. if they put it in one of those clickey pen things they recently came out with, i will be thrilled. would buy again until they stop making it.

This stuff is ok. I have it in clear and pink tint. It smells a lot like polish, but it doesnt last at all. I out a couple coats on and the next day it has almost all peeled off. not a fan. I am going back to the neutrogena nail shine stuff. much better.

I purchased this in the hope of finding a replacement for my Neutrogena Instant Nail Enhancer and was sorely disappointed :(((( . It brushes on easily enough and it does indeed dry quickly. However, the finish isn't nearly as nice as the one the Neutrogena product achieved. While the finish isn't awful, it is strictly mediocre - not even as nice as when I just buff my nails. Even less desireable: by the very next day it was wearing out and visibly uneven and I really had done very little that would have stressed the condition of my nails. I won't purchase this again and I won't recommend it. I'm happier using Opi's Nail Envy Matte. But I truly mourn my beloved Neutrogena. Sigh.

This is a great product IF you're not looking for a polish, as it's an entirely different thing. As others have said it is very thin and it dries instantly to a very low gloss, buffed looking sheen. If you want a ultra high gloss shine then this not for you!

I always put way too much polish on no matter what because I have really unsteady hands and I always use too much of everything. With this it doesn't matter how thick or sloppy the application - there are no unsightly air bubbles and it still dries super quick. Plus it doens't stay on your cuticles if you slop. And rather than chipping away and looking messy, it just wears off gradually.

There were only a few down sides. Like everyone else said, the packaging is ridiculous; I've yet to knock the bottle over, but the lip gloss shaped tube was not a good choice for a nail product! Also at around $7 CAD it is a tad pricey for cheap me (but the bottle does last a long time). Also, it would be nice if the pink tint had a little more color to it.

An all around excellent product if you are indeed looking for a nail ENHANCER, rather than a nail POLISH.

I really like how this dries so fast, it's perfect for when you want your nails to look nice, but you want to be able to do chores or touch your hair in the near future. The packaging is a little faulty, like others have described, but, I still like the product regardless and the packaging problems isn't worth not buying the product because of. I do not have very strong nails and usually have a lot of trouble growing them, but since using this product for about a week my nails are growing much more easily. I bought in the pink shine, and while it looks practically clear...i do feel it gives your nails a bit more of a "glow" than the regular clear does.

The Sally Hansen Natural Shine comes in two shades, clear and light pink. I have clear and it makes my nails look naturally healthy with a gorgeous light sheen. I only apply a thin coat or two and I've instantly got beautiful nails. The consistency is thin, but it's easy to evenly spread on the nail. The only thing I hate is their packaging; very unstable and irritating. This really does give off a clean, fresh, groomed look whilst adding a healthy sheen and protecting the nails from daily wear and tear. I really love how it dries quickly and promotes strong, healthy nails with nutrients and minerals. You don't even have to use a nail polish remover, because it naturally wears away without chipping. This is a really lovely product that is perfect for beautifully strong, healthy nails.

Great product. Leaves your nails looking like they have just been buffed. Much better than clear polish as it does not chip, or turn your nails yellow. I use this in between manicures for a polished look. My only complant is of the packaging and the stupid cap they put on this bottle.

I have the pink and have not tried the clear. I like the pink cast, but am sure I would love the clear as well.

This stuff is awesome!!!

My nails grown nicely if I don't polish them, but now I don't have to leave them bare. This is quick and the results are beautiful, stronger nails. Just 2 coats once a week. It doesn't quite last a whole week on the tips, but I am quite satisfied. There is no descernable peeling, and I don't use or need remover. I love how they look!! They even seem to be growning faster!

I do hate the packaging! It is hard to hold, the brush did get stuck in the bottle, and I can't tell how much I am putting on or how much is left. The product is worth it, enough for me to dare to consider pouring it into a decent bottle. If I do and it turns out to be a disaster, I will buy and use their packaging anyway.

This was my beauty buy of 2007. This gives a really clean buffed look to the nails if applied lightly. If applied with a heavier hand it just looks like clear nail polish. It dries mega fast. There is quite a smell but it clears quicker and it's no worse than regular polish. I favour the natural look so I apply this lightly once a week and in seconds I have groomed nails. (Someone recently asked if I had had a manicure - all I had done was swiped on a layer of this!) I have bought both the clear and the pink tinted version - and although I don't notice a discernable difference I prefer the clear one (in the silver bottle). Also in it's favour is that it wears away rather than chips off. Don't like the shape of the packaging as it can be awkward to hold, and to stand up. Also, one of the earlier views mentioned that the brush gets stuck in the product. This happened within a short while to the pink tinted version. I had to chuck away. The other one is fine. Fingers crossed that thiis stays okay. Barring any let down by the packaging this would last a fairly long time.

Great product. When I bought it I was not sure what to expect. It goes on like a regular nail polish but it dries instantly, it does not have a whole lot of shine but just enough to look nice. I put three coats on and every other day I apply one coat and about twice a week I remove it and start over. I have been using it for about a month now and my nails are stronger and have grown. I went out and bought the pink tint one too. I like it a lot. It is great for when you need a quick polished look. Update: I had my bottle split at the bottom today for no reason. I was painting my nails with this and then it started to leak out of the bottom going everywhere. I had to throw it out. I had not dropped the plastic bottle or anything. I am not sure if I got a defective one or what but I am not sure that I will repurchase this again or not.

This review is for Sally Hansen Natural Shine "Instant Nail Finish." It comes in a silver/grey square tube that looks like it should contain lipgloss. Instead of a lipgloss and a sponge-tip applicator, it has a wand with a small brush applicator which is perfect for this very thin, totally clear, no-color nail polish. I love the packaging!

I loved the finish of this product on my nails. It wasn't too shiny, it wasn't too matte. It was JUST RIGHT. It dried very quickly, and other than a stronger than usual nail polish odor, was very pleasant to use and super easy to apply. It also didn't peel or flake off. It just seemed to wear away naturally.

However, starting within about two hours of applying, and for the next two days, I had nails breaking, just snapping off as if they were too brittle to be longer than barely fingertip length. Perhaps it had nothing to do with this product, and was just an unfortunate coincidence. I only used it once, after all. I wonder, though, if the quick drying quality I observed upon application has anything to do with several nails suddenly breaking.

I won't be purchasing this again, but I'm going to give it another try. While it's a small container of product, it seems that I only need very little with each application, so it should last a long time.

Good for nails on the run. The product dries in a couple of minutes, but it smells horrible. I have to crack a window to use it. I use the pink tint, and a little bit of it seems to go a long way. I did spill some the first time I used it due to clumsy bottle design, but I manage to get around that problem by holding the bottle between the index and middle fingers of the hand that I am painting.

I think I will buff my nails in the future & risk wearing them down.

Waste of money. I bought this after reading all the great reviews on MUA. what a dissapointment! I usually buff nails and use clear polish. It's been 2 weeks since i last buffed nails, so there's a bit of regrowth that's not too smooth. Took the polish off to apply this product. the areas that has been buffed before looks the same. the area near the base of the nail that has a few more ridges also looks the same - this stuff didnt smooth any out. NO DIFFERENCE to nails at all. even after 2 or 3 coats. what a waste of time and money. I can get better results with just buffing alone or just using clear nail polish - it also wears out not too noticeably either.

the claim to be healthier than regular polish is also rubbish. it dries very quickly due to the high alcohol content (hence it's thinner than regular polish). alcohol is drying. on nails or skin.

edited to add: i'm loving this now. I regularly go rock climbing and all nail polishes (even clear ones) chip off and is very obvious. this polish dries in no time at all, and wears off un-noticably. sometimes i use this as a base coat so i dont have to wait too long to use other colours over the top. However, it still stands that this doesnt make the nails very glossy - only a buffed appearance.

Like mentioned below, this product is intended to be a "NATURAL" shine (think of freshly buffed nails w/o the thinning that buffing can cause), not a high shine (like a clear nailpolish) and it definitely lives up to it's name...

Honestly, i'm not big on color for my fingernails (I just don't have the patience to do the manicure thing constantly to keep the color up, UNLESS I pay for it... but i can't afford to do that weekly), so this stuff is PERFECT for me. I love that it doesn't "chip" off, it just wears off evenly, which is even better (chips = picking = nails peeling).

I accidentally purchased the "pink tint" vs. the "clear" one... but there is no "pink tint" to be seen, which I'm fine with because I was bummed that I accidentally purchased the wrong one. Needless to say, I'm perfectly happy w/ the pink tint version.

I paid $6.99 + tax @ CVS, but I'm betting you can get it cheaper if you get it when it's on sale (which is pretty often @ CVS - Sally Hansen is constantly on sale).

The only con is the packaging. It is a plastic square and you cannot see how much is left in the container UNLESS you hold it up to a light, then you can see perfectly what's left on the inside. I would have preferred a glass container, but whatever... it works.
