My very first MUA review. And it had to be this red.

Mac slimshine in urgent completely stole my heart - it's a perfect sheer red for my pale complexion. I bought this a few years ago for my brother's wedding and received so many compliments. Agree with the comments below, so easy to wear, doesn't require mirror for application, and the slimline packaging is perfect for your purse!

If only this wasn't discontinued - I now have to ration wearing it!!!!

This color is to die for. Everything about this red is perfect. The pigmentation, the lack of shimmer, the stain-like sheen, the buildable coverage... it's even slightly moisturizing! This is a really wearable red that, over time, can veer towards pinky-red. It's very flattering and can be worn, I think, for day or night thanks to the sheer formula. A+! I wish this weren't discontinued.

LOVE this! If you want a sheer but vibrant red lip, and this certainly delivers. It gives a modern, sheer yet glossy red colour, and looks absolutely fabulous. Paired with nude eyeshadow, liner and tons of mascara, this looks dramatic but not overpowering. Its super moisturising as well. You must try it.

I LOVE Slimshines!
This colour is the antithesis to the very famous BARE Slimshine, but rivals it in awesomness! Where Bare is opaque, Urgent is more of a stain. Bare is a light natural colour and Urgent is a vivid red hue.
In the tube, this appears to be a RED red, stop sign, red light, RED... but on the lips it is actually an everyday, appropriate for the office, shade. It is sheer and buildable and not an over powering crazy lipstick.
I am very pale, and cool toned so I find that I can't wear a lot of lipstick colours, least of all RED as it appears more like shocking clown makeup against my white skin... but this red is more subtle and complimentary.... totally wearable!
I can even apply this without a mirror and it leaves a slight glossy finish without drying or irritating lips at all.

I exchanged my MAC empties for this, so I'm not sure what it's worth normally. This is a pretty nice lipstick. It's kind of like a cross between a lipstick and a gloss or balm, which is why I wanted to try it. The colour looks really bold in the tube but it's very sheer so it actually ends up looking more subtle on your lips. I'd call it an everyday kind of pink-red. You could wear it out and dress it up, but it's not too crazy for everyday either. If you're looking for a really classic red lip, this isn't for you. I'd personally prefer it if it was just a little redder and less pinky, but it's still nice. I still like it. I'll wear it but I'm not sure if I'd get it again as I'm not much of a lipstick person. I'd probably try a different Lipgelee (what I got last time) next time instead, or maybe one of their long-wearing liquid lipcolours.
I wore this out last night and was quite impressed and surprising with its staying power! I didn't eat or drink anything but even when it felt like it had worn off my lips about 4 hours later, I looked in the mirror to apply some lipbalm and was surprised to still see quite a bit of colour left on my lips. Although it wasn't as shiney anymore and my lips felt pretty bare, there was still pigment left behind, so I just applied my balm over top of it and it worked pretty good. Not bad!

Oh how I adore this lipstick. :) I'm not a big lip gloss girl (the goop starts to feel heavy and annoys me after a while) so if you're like me you will love this. Not only is it a sexy red that everyone can work but it gives off just the right amount of sheen. Only downside is it is a little bit expensive for the amount you're getting, but hey. :D

I haven't been this excited about a lipstick in sometime. Having worn neutrals for way too long I've decided that the world needs more red lips. Urgent fits the bill to perfection. I love....no.....I adore this color more than any red I've come across over the years. It is a red with alot of pink in it and it's blue based and so it is a color that can be universal. The MAC SA suggested this to be the best red for fair, blue eyed blonds like myself and boy was she right. It's a color that could be worn alone without any eyemakeup and still look edgy and polished.

Love this red! I am cool PPP (ULTRA pale). I was looking for a true red that wasn't garish that I could wear to work. An online MAC artist recommended it to me. I bought it sight unseen and LOVE it. Other reviewers have complained that it isn't a true red or that it turns pink or fuschia on them. Maybe this is only a problem with certain skintones, because I simply do not have these problems with this lipstick. On me, it goes on a sheer, shiny true red (a bit blue red). The shine is glossy, not sparkly or frosty. It is a great red for cool toned gals. It isn't too bright or garish. It isn't too toned down. It is just right. I'll try to add some pics in the near future. Being a slimshine, it isn't going to last for hours and hours, but it feels nice on the lips and doesn't dry them out, so reapplying shouldn't be too big of a problem. I highly recommend this one, and would buy it again and again.

Perfect sheer shiny lipstick! It gives all it promises. Wonderful red shade. However, I am a bit sick of it by now. I love the texture and the tube, so elegant and stylish! And a big bonus of this lipstick - it has a very very nice smell.

When it comes to the description of the shade and texture of this lpstick, I totally agree with the review of Tijanarm (read below). This lipstick could be useful for those who wear reds, and want a shift towards a more "casual" shade, and those who like red but are afraid of bold lipstick. Urgent looks bluish red but in fact is a sheer wash of glossy reddish pink that turns into a medium pink after a while. It's not bad, it's actually very very pretty. But not red. The cool thing about it is that it can be quite versatile, depending on the lipliner you can use it with. A clear lipliner will prevent feathering and keep it soft while a red liner will bring out the red of this lippie and would create a very wearable and very juicy lip (try it with MAC Cherry). My favorite way to wear it though is with MAC Cranapple Creamstick. If you can pull off cool shades and you like super juicy fuchsias and reds then definetely give this a shot.

I liked this color a lot! it's a beautiful low shine red on me, looks like perhaps my lips are just that color with some clear gloss on them. HA! if they only knew! I also have this in Grenadine which is a little more pinky color. I really like to layer them with liner for the night or just wear them plain in the day. it's a very build-able lipstick.

It's the perfect sheer red lipstick. It looked a lot better on me (NC20, dark brown hair and eyes) than MAC Lipstick Ladybug, wich looked kind of yellow-based. It feel great on the lips.

I am on a fence about this product, so my final score is 3 lippies for now, but since I just bought it and need more time to reach a final conclusion, I may change my mind. The product will appeal to those ladies who like glosses, especially the ones that are not sticky. Consistency of this product is like a very glossy and shiny lip balm and it DEFINITELY feels great on the lips, to the point where I think it even plumps them up a bit (at least it plumped mine up). The colour is not like it seems in the tube. In the tube it looks like intense red, a bit more bluey red, but for the most part true red. On the lips it's sheer very pinky red, I would even call it pink vs. red (and I know my reds as I am a huge red lipstick fan). It's a nice colour, don't get me wrong, just if you are looking for a true red, this is not it. After about 1/2 hour on your lips, the colour starts fading and becomes paler rosy/pink. It does bleed, so I recommend a liner. If you are not a liner person like I'm not, I would still recommend a clear liner to help prevent bleeding. So, in the end, I really like the "hydrating" aspect of the lipstick, but I can't justify the price tag as there is nothing too special about this lipstick. Longevity is poor, but that's normal for this lipsticks of this texture. For now 3 lippies, but I may change my mind after a few days, and if so, I will update.

Since they've discontinue Cargo's "Val D'Or" (which was my HG red lipstick), I've been on a search for the perfect red lipstick again. Lo and Behold! I've found it now!! Urgent is a gorgeous red/pink lipstick which is perfect. It looks really red in the tube but goes on sheer and accentuates my lips making them look fuller, softer, and better. It's more of a "your lips but better" kind of look. I can wear it to work and at night which is great! I also adore the packaging. It's a sleek 'n' sexy black coloured tube. The texture is very soft and simply glides on my lips which feels heavenly. It's a definite re-purchase! EDIT: I've taken off 2 lippies and gave it a rating of 3 because it is a gorgeous colour which may suit a lot of other women who are into reds. I have finally given up on red lipsticks as I've realized that they just don't suit my skintone. Returned it!

Lovely, juicy red lipstick. Got complements on it which does not happen often w/my lippies. My only complaint is it broke off easily because it's so soft. But I love the shape and feel of the tube, wonderful!

Can't say enough good things about this lipstick, I'm not sure if I like Grenadine or Urgent! better as far as the sheer reds go - urgent has a touch of shimmer (not really too noticeable while on) and is a bit lighter and less berry colored. It's very sheer and just makes my lips look a gorgeous flushed red-pink color which makes it look like I just came in from the cold or I am feeling super hot (if you know what I mean).

The lasting power is good and the color seems like it would be flattering on both warm and cool skintones.

I picked up this and Rock Out more because I wanted to try the formula than because I was in love with the shades. I found the shade selection a bit limited and heavy on the reds and browns.

Urgent was my first choice in color because I've been on a red kick. I figured this sheer formula might make a decent red for day. It's buildable, but certainly sheer enough so it doesn't look like I've painted on a red smile for work in my casual office. On my lips, it is more of a "my lips but redder and better" shade. It has a nice amount of shine too. I have a feeling that it will be a big part of my lipstick rotation this spring. My one complain is that it does bleed a bit. Cranapple automatic liner helps with the bleeding and allows for a little bit more of a dramatic look. It feels nice on my lips. They feel smooth, but not sticky.

I like the slick, shiny formula and the slim, sleek packaging. The slim lipstick makes application easy. I'd almost dare to reapply without a mirror.

This was suggested to me by the MAC SA - a sheer cherry-red shade on my pigmented lips. I like it, but am not as crazy about it as I am about Pink D'Lush. The red doesn't really wow me. But then again, maybe it wasn't meant to be an in-your-face red so I bought it for the wrong reason. Oh well. I'm glad I have it for those days I want to wear red and not look too dramatic. ;) Won't be buying again, though.

I love MAC Slimshines. They feel incredible on. Urgent is a soft cherry red that brightens my face. I love the sheerness and shine of this. Of course Slimshines aren't long-lasting with this kind of texture but they are still great and a must have, in my opinion.
