This is the best moisturiser I've ever tried for dry skin which is really needed throughout the winter months. I'm weird - I have an oily face but dry skin everywhere else and this is the only thing I've tried that actually soothes and keeps my skin moisturised and soft for ages. Definitely will repurchase.

After using multiple different moisturisers for my face and having them either cause more irritation, redness, flakiness, oiliness or breakouts, i thought i would give this a go since my father had been prescribed a massive pump bottle of it that he wasn't even using... and I’m glad i gave it a try!
I have dry/combination/sensitive skin and this was the only moisturiser so far that has worked well on my face, hasn’t caused ANY break outs and doesn’t leave it feeling like an oily mess. For those who say it leaves a film on their face, or feels oily or heavy, you are using waaaay too much, as i experienced this the first couple of times i used it as well. About 2 pea sized amounts is usually enough to cover my whole face, it absorbs fast and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated.
For the amount you get for the price, this cream/lotion will last a very, very long time. One large pump bottle could easily last you a year if you use it on your face alone, and that’s for only £8-£9, can't beat that.
My only gripes with the pump bottle is of course the fact it will not get out all of the product, and it's prone to clogging up as some of the product gets caught in the hole and sets. Apart from that, love love love this.

I really recommend this. I have this in the bottle. Mine has a thin consistency which is much better for my skin as rich mousturisers tend to break me out. This hydrates my skin and absorbs quickly. My skin feels soft and fresh and I wake up with soft and supple skin. I will repurchase once I run out.

Very hydrating and nice for my skin -s tops it feeling dry.
As I've just had a holiday and got a nice tan I use the one with the silky radiance with the slight shimmer one, it absorbs well.
:) such a nice body lotion.

I have the e45 cream in the jar/tub and the one with the pump. Well given that I have ichthyosis vulgaris, dear mother suggested me to try this. I have only been using it for a couple of days but I'd say that it works as it's supposed to be.
Body : Keeps my skin moisturised, not hard to put on at all, however leaves a greasy film on top which accentuated my scales and dry spots more.
Face : It was such a bad idea. After trying it out on my face for the first and second time at spare amounts, my face broke out and now I have 3 painful spots on my face. 2 on my forehead and one near my ear.
It's a great moisturiser for the body, but for the face I'd suggest something else.

I use this on my dry cheeks and I also use it on my eyebrows as I have a horrible skin condition there - my eyebrows (thickest part) shed their skin every day and it flakes off if I don't add E45 every day to them. It is really gentle and doesn't cause a reaction. Also really good value for money!!

I have this cream in the squeezy tube that looks like a hand cream tube.
FOR THE FACE: My GP recommended that I used this on my face, as it's very simple in formulation and is great for dry skin (which I have on my cheeks and under eyes - the rest is oily/combination).
Now, on my face this feels greasy at first, but does get absorbed more or less so in the end it's not too bad. However I made the mistake of using this in the morning and heading to work, and it does leave a sort of film on my face which just looks greasy, so I looked rather shiny when I checked myself out in the mirror (I hadn't used foundation that day).
So I decided to try this at night a few times, to see how that works out. Let me tell you, NOT GREAT! Not that it didn't moisturise my skin - because it did. But it also broke me out on my cheeks and chin! And gave my a slight eye infection! I obviously didn't put this in my eyes, but product somehow migrated from under my eyes/ maybe my nose to my eyes, so in the morning it looked like a have mild conjunctivitis.
I do have sensitive skin, so maybe not everyone's skin will react like mine, but for one I'm never using this on my face again!
FOR BODY: I have very dry skin all over my legs, and this is a great moisturiser. I feel like this gets absorbed really quickly and leaves my skin soft.
So thumbs up for body (including heels, knees, elbows), but never will I reccommed this for use on the face!

Funny enough I LOVE THIS. I have oily sensitive skin and I have tried so many creams or moisterizers and this actully works perfect on my face I use ST.ives to clense then this after and all my breake outs have stoped I dont know how but it just works I think it gives you back the lost moister and its really light I dont reconmend the cream tho I would reconmend the lotion. The cream is heavy plus the lotion say's on the pack you can use on ur face but the cream does'nt.

Brilliant stuff. My mum always has a tube of this lying about and I now know why; it's really cheap and works wonders!
E45 is a cream specifically for dry skin. The product information states that it helps with a variety of skin issues like chapped skin, eczema and dermatitis.
I've been dealing with really dry, chapped skin on my hands recently, to the point where they felt pretty itchy. This cream really soothed and softened them instantly. Within a few days, they were lovely and smooth and there was no evidence of any dryness.
I was most impressed however with how well it sorted out my under-eye skin. I had developed a reaction to my eye-cream which left me with very dry patches and rather sore, reddened skin under my eyes. I dabbed a little bit of E45 on the skin 2 or 3 times a day and within a couple of days it was totally back to normal.
The cream is fragrance-free, absorbs easily and doesn't irritate my skin in the least-the complete opposite, in fact.
I'll make sure I'm never without this-it's a skin-saver!

If you have dry, sensitive skin, this is for you. My face is oily, but my body tends to be quite dry and a little sensitive, so that's where I use e45. It was recommended to me by my sister who has crazy sensitive skin and allergies.
A decent sized tub of this costs about £3.50 in the UK and is widely available. The product itself is a completely odourless, glossy, reasonably thick cream. I find a little goes a fairly long way, and that the texture and application of the cream feels very soothing on the skin. I like that it is odourless as well, as it means it doesn't interefere with my perfume.
The packaging is plain and almost medicinal looking. I have the tub, which is a bit annoying for sticking your fingers into, but it does also come in a smaller tube, or a larger pump dispenser. I tend to shower at the gym though, so tub it is.
I've been using this now almost daily for about a month, and the condition of my body skin has improved. It is much smoother and more hydrated and supple. I've also noticed that the redness on the tops of my arms isn't as bad. Will definitley repurchase - feels like something I will always have in the house from now on.

I had always really liked this and found it helped me when I developed a dry patch on my chin that turned dark and flaky. But I was recently disappointed when I accidentally overexfoliated my skin (ok, no one would do it deliberately), and when I put E45 on, rather than calming my skin down it broke out in red angry spots. This is when I realized that petroleum products really aren't that great ... I had always pooh-poohed those super-paranoid types who have a long list of "will not use" ingredients, but when my trusty E45 let me down, I reluctantly joined their ranks ...

I bought this product when I came out in this horrible dry rash on my face. I have dry skin but never had a rash like this before! I was recomended e45 cream as it was good for dry skin and skins with more serious problems so I gathered this should do the trick! The cream made my skin so soft and smooth an made that horrible rash go away after a couple of uses which was brill. It also made my skin look great and radiant which I didn't expect from such a cheap product! Love this cream will always use it.

I've been using this as a moisturiser for a while now. I was previously using avene tolerance extreme or hydrance optimale riche. I needed something more moisturising.
This is veru good. Its basic, so it does not irritate my retin-A made me sensitive skin. It keeps me pretty well hydrated. Thus far, its better than any other moisturiser, no clogs thus far. I love that I have 500 grams of this for £10! I use it from my face to my toes.
The best thing is that it does not cause my face to shine, and it keeps my face less oily than any other moisturiser I've tried thus far. I think it may be a possible HG contender!
2 Thumbs up, will update if my opinoin changes!

ok best moisturiser ever, it has replaced astral as my new favourite, it is so moisturising but my skin seems to drink it up quite fast so its not greasy to make my makeup fall off. i have dry skin with oily t zone and would be prone to break outs this makes my skin look so much better in the morning when i put it on at night and no other moisturiser has left my knees and elbows feeling so soft, considering the price its amazing and i would be loathed to splash out on more expensive lotions that are not as effective. what i also like about this cream is its so lightweight its not heavy and thick, all water based. only thing is it doesnt really have a scent and if i am going out i like to wear a moisturiser on my body that has a scent but for my face this is perfect cant fault it

I love this cream so much. I liked it right away when I bought it, but figured I should try it out for a good while before reviewing it. I have used this cream for about 3 months exclusively now, and it is the best cream I have ever used.
I have very problematic skin - typical combination, sensitive skin that easily breaks out but at the same time needs good hydration or I get red splotches on my cheeks.
I have tried so many creams, from "teenage" ranges (clearasil type products), to popular ones like olay, and also a few expensive higher end creams, and they all make me feel really greasy or the irritate my skin.
I was actively looking for a simple cream with non comedogenic ingredients, and I found this one in my local Boots.
I figured I would give it a go, since it's so cheap it's not really a problem if it wasn't to work for my skin.
This cream is rich, and a little goes a long way, but it has NEVER broken me out. My pores around my nose are smaller, my skin is smooth and moisturized, and has never felt better.
I use a small amount during the day - just a tiny dab on my cheeks and forehead, and at night I really slather it on thickly - it makes my skin look fantastic in the morning.
I do also use it for my body, but it is as a face cream I use it most.
Would I buy it again? Hell yeah!

I've been experiencing a lot of itching and irritation on my legs as a result of shaving. This does a very good job of moisturising initially, but by the end of the day my skin feels dry again. As for the intense itchiness, I have yet to find a creme that will help with that (other than a prescription). A very decent skin creme, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than just dry skin.

This is quite a greasy type of moisturising lotion, I use it when my legs etc are itching but not as a regular moisturiser. It's consistency is quite watery and runny whereas I prefer a thicker formula. I keep a bottle in my house for when I need it, as you get a huge amount which never runs out!
