i think its called Vanilla Cupcake now but its the same scent. I'm on my second bottle and i have a matching lotion as well. Lasting power is good for a body spray, layered with lotion it will last several hours on me. I think Vanilla Buttercream was a more accurate name as it smells just like that, not really like a cake. None the less, its a very pleasant scent and cheap to boot.

I bought two bottles along with other Bodycology products without having tested the scents. Walmart and Walgreens in my area did not carry this scent so I ended up ordering from from Ulta.com. This body mist smells like playdough! I had husband do a sniff test and the first thing out of his mouth is "playdough". This does have a decent staying power but it does smell cheap, smells slightly like vanilla cupcake but more like playdough. I definitely will not repurchase Bodycology products. I will stick with Bath and Body Works products which I feel are much better quality.

Its now called Vanilla Cupcake, and it smells exactly how it sounds. Simple as that! Its a nice warm comfy scent, perfect for cold days, and not headache inducing on warmer days. I find it lasts longer if I use it right when I get out of the shower. Its not the sort of sent that people can detect, they'd have to be very close, and sometimes i'd rather it be discreet like that. If you love foody gourmands, go for this, it wont hurt.

I love this scent and it was SO cheap. A few sprays go a long way and last a looong time. Through the day I notice and get told I smell more like marshmallows than vanilla cream but whatever, it still smells great!! I just make sure not to spray it on my chest because it will break me out there. :)

I agree that this product was vanilla buttercream sometime ago. They now call it vanilla cupcake. If you read the description on the back of the packages, it is the same on both. It does smell slightly different, though. It is something subtle. I'm not sure what they did, but it smells really good. My daughter thinks it smells like play dough, but I like it. It smells like cupcakes with vanilla frosting. I am a vanilla junkie and this product is perfect. Would definitely buy again. The only problem with the body lotion in the bottle is that the lotion is very thick and the bottle is very hard to squeeze, so when I buy again, I would choose the lotion in the tube instead.

I think they rereleased this under the "Vanilla Cupcake" scent. It smells like the old Buttercream lotion.

This smells like scrumptious cake batter ready to be licked off the spoon. I adore the way this smells and am so glad I stumbled upon this Bodycology scent during a quick run to the drugstore. It is vanilla but a very, very buttery vanilla. Layering this with the lotion is a must in order to make the scent last because it does fade extremely quickly. That is in my opinion the only reason this isn't getting 5 lippies from me. Otherwise, this is a perfect body mist. If you're looking for a cheapy way to smell edible and vanillafied, this is absolutely the way to go!

If you're one of the ones who remember BODY SHOP's "Original Vanilla" then you will love this.
Years ago, when Vanilla started getting trendy (Vanilla Fields..etc) the Body Shop introduced a more trendy scent and renamed their Vanilla "Original Vanilla" .. (The newer ones smell like musk or plastic.. Like, Bath & Body Work's Vanilla..eeewe) Original Vanilla smelled like hot chocolate, MARSHMALLOWS, (and yes, Play-Dough).
I FREAKED OUT with happiness when I smelled this product at Wal-Mart. Now that I have everyone LOVING it again, they're discontinuing it !! I am DEVASTATED.

It has a WONDERFUL scent!



CONS:
The fragrance is very mild and it doesn't last very long. About 10 minutes after I put it on, there are hardly any traces of the fragrance.

I came across this product in Walmart. The Bodycology version is very light-scented, so you do have to use a lot at 1st, and carry a small bottle with you to touch up because the smell does disappear quickly. Because of this, I go through a bottle quickly. Even though it is light-scented, the scent is wonderful. I would buy it again!

This really does smell like vanilla frosting to me like others have mentioned. It has that kind of sweet, artificial, juvenile scent to it, but in a good way (if that makes sense) :). I love vanillas and this is a great, cheap way to wear it. Very feminine scent, with good lasting power. Stronger than some of their other scents IMO.

This is the BEST vanilla scent out there, hands-down. It really does smell like vanilla frosting-yum! I've gotten countless compliments everytime I wear it and I never get sick of it (the scent, although the former is nice, too-lol). The only thing I'd change is the pump-I don't know how many bottles have clogged-up, permanently. Aside from that, it's a wonderfully sweet scent that I will continue to repurchase, as long as they make it.

Mmm. I love anything that's a true, sweet vanilla, and I also love anything with "buttercream" in the name. This is such a nice find, especially for such a low price ($1.77 for the little bottle at Wal-Mart). When sprayed on, I instantly get to enjoy the scent of sweet vanilla frosting. I just love that the scent is so true to its name. My only complaint is that this body mist has almost ZERO staying power, which is why I had to give it four, rather than five, lippies. The scent fades on me within about fifteen minutes, at best, but it's such a wonderful fragrance that I would purchase it again. I did, however, contact Bodycology telling them how much I loved their new fragrance, but that I would love it if they re-formulated it to last longer.

To me, only the first couple pumps of this spray smell good...everything from then on just smells like play-dough. I'll usually keep it around though, under my car seat or something to freshen up that stale summer smell, but otherwise, I wouldn't use it on my body. The lasting power sucks, too, but it's a cheap body spray that smells yummy the first few spritz...

I was getting a little tired of my old Bath & Body Works Vanilla spray, so when I saw & smelled this I had to have it. It has the classic Vanilla scent but with something new (buttercream). If you love vanilla, and want to try somethign new this product is great. The scent does fade after a while, but I see that the other bodycology fragrances have small perfume bottle (I'm guessing those provide much stronger scents).

I can't believe that I bought this yummy stuff at Walmart for 4 bucks! It smells soooo great and the price is unbeatable. I did take one lippie off for this is not very strong without the body lotion. I never buy body spray without the matching lotion but I tried this alone and it didn't last very long. This will become a staple for me and if you love foody scents go try this!!

This smells soooo good, and I can hardly believe I found it at Wal-mart. It was so cheap, too! It was around $1.50 or something. I got the small bottle since I'm always looking for purse-sized body mists. I want to go back and get the lotion and body wash. Anyway...It smells absolutely divine, it's a scrumptious creamy vanilla that really does smell like buttercream...and it also reminds me of vanilla cake batter. My only complaint is that I wish it was a little stronger! It's a very lightly scented mist and I prefer scents to be a little more concentrated. But I love it anyway, it's perfect to put in my purse for on-the-go yumminess.

Wonderful Walmart find! I was already familiar with bodycology products, having used and liked the grapefruit body wash, so when I saw this, I had to give it a quick spritz. And I loved it! Smells just like my beloved Jaqua Pink Buttercream Frosting body mist, but about $20 cheaper! Needless to say, I snatched this one up, and plan on returning for the body wash. If you like yummy, sweet vanilla cupcake smells, than this one will be a winner for you. Will definitely rebuy!

All I got from this was faint buttery vanilla scent -- weak and banal when compared to the rich vanilla fragrances I've purchased from etailers. It would be great if retail stores offered a range of quality "foody" and gourmand scents -- no shipping costs and no waiting (sometimes weeks) before you get your purchase!
