Ugh this quad is just awful. The colours barely show up, and when they do they are chalky and do not blend. The lightest colours look the same too, there is no difference in them and the dark purple is really dark! They are either so light they don't show up or extremely dark. Just avoid this quad, it is awful.

I looked around the drug store for an es with a smokey purple in mind. Not an Easter egg, flowery purple; not a pastel purple-more of an eggplant purple. Imagine my surprise to find "smokey purple" way at the bottom of the Rimmel display. And the colors are just what I had in mind! Cheap, ds plastic case, tiny cheap sponge applicator. Lasts ok, not great. But the shades are just what I wanted so I'm happy.

Like most others here, I find this quad not highly pigmented enough. I like the deepest shade of purple but the the other three are all very similar and transparent.

This is the worst eye shadow I have every bought.
The colour pay-off is virtually non-existent -- after one application of the darkest shadow (very dark in the tray) I get a vague shadow on my skin (no colour distinguishable) and after several layers I finally get some result. The other three (lighter) colours are almost completely invisible on my skin -- I feel like I am putting on air! I don't even understand how it's possible to formulate such an ineffective product.

Terrible. This was my first and last Rimmel eyeshadow. The colors are pretty, but not pigmented at all. So you're basically putting nothing on your eyes. Will not repurchase.

My first Rimmel e/s and I'm guessing my last. The darkest purple has almost no color payoff and what payoff you get looks more blue than purple. The other colors are also very weak and wan. I tried it once more this morning but it's bad. I have green eyes, this should work. It doesn't. Wrote my review and now it's going in the trash. There are d/s e/s I like. Just not this.

This is okay in a pinch, and the colors are not very bright/pigmented at all. I have to use the urban decay eye primer and a liquid sealer on top of it for it to stay on.

Not much pigmentation, and takes a lot of times to recoat for any colour to appear. The colours fade away pretty fast. Also, the lightest colour eyeshadow square thing fell out, and the foam tips of the applicator brush fall off over time. So you need to be careful as the cheap packaging quality does not make this product heavy-duty and does not last long. However, the darkest colour is good for eyeliner (with water and an angled brush) for the top line, and the bottom line (dry shadow and angled brush). Would recommend if you want an everyday, very subtle, smokey eye-look.

There is next to no pigment in this eyeshadow. It looks beautiful in the pan but I seriously piled it on my eyes and it still barely showed. I'm taking this back.

This eyeshadow is one of the worst i've tried of any brand! The colors are not pigmented at all! I have light skin, not the lightest but one or two shades away from that and none of the colors showed except the two dark purples and only after building the color up three or four times. You can barely tell which eye has full makeup on and which has nothing with these!

I honestly do not like this quad. It's not all that pigmented and barely shows up on my eyes no matter how much I try and build it up...big thumbs down!

I tend to like some of Rimmel's eyeshadows but I just couldn't get along with this quad as much as I tried. For starters, maybe it's my skin tone (medium/light tan) but two of the colours barely show up even after I try and build it up.
I also found that the double ended applicator you get with it is absolutely hopeless. Mine fell apart after afew uses which isn't surprising but still something you don't want to happen to something you have purchased.
I did once manage to get that "smokey eyed" look going on, but to be honest, it was more hassle than it was worth because like I said above, 2 of the colours barely show up on my skin.
On the plus side, the product isn't too expensive, the other two colours that did show up really complimented my eyes and the eyeshadows don't crease or flake off through the course of the day.

These colors look deceptively nice in the palette but are a powdery, poorly pigmented mess when applied. In short, this is total crap, and I tossed mine in the garbage.

I love this quad! It's inexpensive and gives me the perfect "smokey eye" look without being over dramatic. I agree that's it's not very pigmented, but that makes it perfect for my very fair skin. I would definitely purchase this again!

The Smokey Purple quad consists of a deep dark purple, a medium shade purple, a lavender and a light pinkish purple. All of them have shimmer. The top two shades--the purples--are beautiful. They are very pigmented and the color payoff is great. Lasts all day with a good eyeshadow base. The dark purple makes a gorgeous liner shade. The two bottom shades-lavender & pink-hardly show up on me at all and the lightest shade becomes too frosty if you try to build it up. The shadows are all very chalky and crumbly. I love the two top shades of the quad and I like having them in my stash but I don't think it would be worth to buy this quad again for only two shadows.

very sad and dissapointing with this quad, the colors on the outside looks pretty but once you put it on its not pigmented as I thought it would be, the shadows are very sheer which makes the colors fade out :(

Great color combination in the pan, but colors barely show on my eyelids. I have to brush on colors at least 3 times to get any pigment. Also, colors fade quickly--even over primer! Very disappointing.

I was so excited when I found this quad. The colors looked great. However the color payoff is terrible. If the colors looked as great on as they do in the packaging then this quad would be my favorite. I was so disappointed. This is the 3rd. Rimmel eyeshadow that I have tried that has been like this. I think I am done with this brand of eye shadow.

I just want to comment to say that I would've loved if this actually worked as a smokey purple, which is what I bought it for, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice it looks as a sheer wash. It honestly brightens up my eye area for daytime wear without looking like I piled on makeup. I love wearing the lightest colour on the lid and under the eyebrow and the next lightest (pinky purple) on the crease and a little higher. The 2 darker ones are good when going for a grey eyeshadow.
I agree that it doesn't do what it says it will, which is Rimmel's bad.
