I have this in silver! And i love how it completes a smoky eye for the night :) Really good pigmentation and the pencil seems to last forever. I bought mine like a couple of years back and im still not done with it. There are so many colors for different skintones to choose from!

However, i don't think this would be good for natural daytime looks as its really pigmented, hence it might be too glittery and harsh! As summer is already here, i might get the coppery/bronze one to complement my tanned skin! (:

I have two shades, Olive Green and Pure Purple. I use them on the lower waterline. It doesn't irritate my eyes. Take care in sharpening the pencils as the plastic tube can poke your eye. I find it best to slant the pencil and smoothen the tips on a tissue to give it a good point. Both colours are great for accenting brown eyes.

I plan to purchase the shade in Metallic Bronze and Ocean Blue.

UPDATE after two years:

Renewed love for these. I use the Ocean Blue on my bottom waterline and they make the whites of my eyes look brighter. And still as smudge-proof as ever. Bumping up to five.

Original Review 10/30/2009:

At first I was, like, "Silky Girl??? Never heard of 'em."

But they seemed to get favorable reviews on the Asian forums/blogs (it was jojoba's review on mymakeupreviews that finally convinced me :) ) so during a visit to Malaysia I checked them out at Sasa. And I have to say: I lurrrrrve these. I have Ocean Blue and Olive Green. They flatter my dark brown eyes, especially the green one. At first the the Ocean Blue looked too weird and, well.. funky, but layered over a gray liner, it turns dark enough that I'm able to wear it to work. :) The lead is kinda soft, so you can smudge it as an eyeshadow, but once it sets, it doesn't budge until the end of the day. I'm thinking of getting the silver or bronze ones next. They're cheap enough (less than RM15... 4USD?) that I can probably collect all colors. :D

i hv this in olive green, silver and another blue one..it definitely reminds me of mac pearlglide..very pigmented..long lasting..i like to use it on my lower lashline to give some color because i don't really like eyeshadows most of the time cz i live in a very hot and humid country..and i'm always out under the sun most of the time..but this thing will not budge untill u take it off..like seriously..its shimmery and its long lasting..what else could you ask for right..

For the price, I had to buy all the nice cols! Have it in purple, medium-dark blue, gold & brown. It's comparable to Mac's coloured eye kohls. Quality is not as good, but fantastic enough for a cheap, everyday wear. My fave is dark blue & also purple to line my lower eyelids, when black liner is too harsh on the lower rim. Colour is less vibrant by mid day, but a simple touch-up could fix that. A perfect example of a cheap & good product: says the recessionista.

HG! I love this! It's awesome that I can purchase these from a shop like 5 mins away from me. I have it in Metallic Bronze, the purple, green and gold ones. They're cheap and come in gorgeous colours. You can use it for many things. As an eyeliner, for the inner corners or an eyeshadow base. This eyeliner does not smudge at all. It's great for your waterline. I can't believe that a very awesome eyeliner for the waterline costs about SGD7 which is USD4.70. If only it came in a matte black. I would repurchase over and over and in other colours too!

EDIT: as of 9 May 2013, I'm still using the Metallic Bronze 99.99% of the time. Other days when I want a pop of colour, I will use Illamasqua Debonair (blue). If I'm feeling natural, I always always use this on my lower lash line. Everyone compliments me when I have it on and they always ask me what eyeliner I'm using. I'm probably on my 5th tube and will keep purchasing as long as they make them.

I love it! Not only they're cheap but they stay on all day! I bought the Frosty Silver one to use it on my inner corners of my eyes. The color is very pretty and and lasts long too. Its kinda too soft but that doesn't really matter. They come in variety of colors and I'm even thinking of getting them all!

My $0.02:

Ps: for those who’re not aware of it, Silkygirl is the South East Asian version of Wet n’ Wild (Available only in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei if I’m not mistaken).

Pigmentation & Color (Plus Swatches! :D):
True to their name, these pencils come in 10 different bright colors (see swatch pics below for the name of each individual color). The pigmentation is EXCELLENT – one swipe is all you need to get the color on your lids! All 10 colors are shimmery.

Swatches from website:

Actual Swatches:

The Applicator & Packaging:

These pencils are slightly over 4.5” long and they come with a clear plastic cap (with no groove or whatsoever to hold on, may I add) which sometimes come off.

Texture:

These pencils are very creamy! Though they’re really shimmery but they don’t feel gritty at all! They smooth right onto your eyelids without tugging! As you can see in the picture above, they’re quite soft though, so do use them gently as not to break them!

Time Test:
These babies lasted more than 10 hours on me, even after I take a shower! They smudge a little on the inner V though, but it’s quite minimal.

Price & Availability:
These pencils are sold for RM14.90 (slightly over US$4), which I consider to be dirt cheap! They’re easily available at all Watsons / Guardian outlets or your local supermarket.

Usage:
I usually use this to line my lower lids (to match my eyeshadow colors, since powders don’t really last on me). I love using the Frosty Silver shade to line my inner V also. I sometimes also use them as eyeshadows when travelling since they stay on forever (until I remove them, that is!).

In a Nutshell:

Excellent drugstore stuff that performs beautifully at a steal!!

Likes: Excellent pigmentation, Glides on like a dream yet does not budge until you bring on the remover, it goes well with most colors, Cheap, Easily Available.
Gripes: Well not really a gripe, but just thought that it would be nice to have one in black. Maybe a black one with gold shimmers? That would be really nice! :D
Repurchase: In a heartbeat!

Rating:
5 Stars ! HG Stuff!!

I LOVE THIS TO BITS. I bought like 4 different colours: Sky Blue, Ocean Blue, Olive Green, Frosty Silver.. I recommended it to my mom, and she bought one in Brown.. And she tells me that she's loving it! It's not just a fantastic eyeliner which doesnt budge until you remove it with makeup remover, it also doubles up as a eyeshadow! The colours are brilliant.. and all you need to do is draw faint lines on your eyelids and smudge them with a cotton bud, or your fingers! Very very pretty, and extremely cheap. Best eyeliners I've ever tried. Plus it goes on very smoothly. My favourite cosmetic product!!

awesome liners. really don't budge at all until you take them off. love the ocean blue and olive ones, very pigmented, smooth and shimmery. the purple one not so much. colour is great but a little waxier than the other 2 (might be just the one pencil i bought though). it's awesome by itself and i found that if u use it as an eyeshadow base the color is brilliant and seriously won't go anywhere until u wipe it off yourself. try it (:

I bought the purple and blue one. Both are very nice. Was a bit worried that the pencil will be too soft and smudge at the end of the day. Luckily it is not too soft (although a bit soft), and does not smudge at the end of the day. The colours are nice and vibrant too. The quality of the product is good considering the low price. Love it.

Edit: Once sharpened, half my pencil is gone. The lead is too soft. Will not repurchase.

Excellent stuff!! Vibrant colors, super lasting (it won't budge until you bring on the remover) plus they're soo cheap! What more can you ask for? i have all 10 colors :) My only complaint is that the cap comes off quite easily and sometimes the tip breaks off because of that. Still, it's a fantastic product that i will keep on buying :)

I only have one in cool blue, but I'll definitely repurchase in a variety of colours. These are dirt cheap for liners in beautiful colours and smooth application. The cool blue is perfect for highlighting and lining the lower lid.

I have this in Ocean Blue. The color sounds like it is, a bright, vibrant.. ocean blue! The texture is soft so there's no tugging on your lids. With such a soft, crayon-y texture, I thought it wouldn't last but it lasted a whole day on my lids.

Vibrant colors, long lasting, easy to apply, cheap and readily avaliable. Fantastic. 5 lippies!

I used to have the stereotype that cheap drugstore brands were never as good as counter brands. I was SO wrong. I happened to chance upon the Silkygirl Funky Eyelights pencil & i was rather apprehensive about their quality, colour payoff & durability. Nonetheless, i decided to give them a shot since they were so cheap (SGD6.90 each)! I figured that since they were so cheap, even if they weren't up to my expectations, i could simly throw them away without feeling the pinch.

As it turned out, i was really pleased with the results. The shimmers in the pencil were subtle enough to be worn during the day in the office & when layered more, the shimmers really made the colour pop. Furthermore, on my oily lids, the colour stayed budge-proof for almost 8 hours' of wear.

I'm a convert now! In fact, i've got the entire set of every single colour & a backup set of every single colour too.
