Many Iris scents don't work for me, being too metallic, or too woody, or too muddy. Iris de Nuit is perfect on me. The soft woody musk base of ambrette is delicious and the other notes lay over it like a well-made up face, slightly creamy, slightly powdery, smooth and cool. Lovely, elegant, soft and light...I truly love this and want more.

Notes: angelica grain, ambrette; iris root, violet, carrot; grey amber and white cedar.
This fragrance opens with an iris accord closely resembling the heart accord of Prada’s Infusion d’Iris. The Heeley offering, however, focuses more on the pure, elegant iris note and there are no neroli or incense notes to cover its pale, powdery-vegetal beauty. It may very well be that Iris de Nuit is even more similar to Infusion d’Homme, but I cannot confirm that since I have never tried that particular scent. As the formula does not contain any myrrh, there is no trace of soapiness in the accord. This is a perfectly pleasant iris fragrance, but it is much quieter than its Prada siblings. Lasts 8 linear hours on my skin.

Iris de Nuit is a lovely little number. Absolutely charming and sweet, without any pretensions. It's sheer, wears close to the skin, and leaves skin scented with a lovely musky base (that ambrette base which is beautifully executed here). It brings to mind White Linen and wears quite well in warm or cool weather. Wears well on men or women and this is also one of the rare scents that could easily be worn by a 14 year-old or a 40 year-old without eliciting smirks. Is this the epitome of iris frags? no. Is it worth 150$ a bottle? Sure, since it's so versatile and easy to put on. Now if only L'Heure Fougueuse could be priced in the same ballpark....

I was lucky to get a bottle of this scent from heaven at an exceptional price. But truly I will gladly pay full price to replenish this when it soon becomes empty. I am so in love with this beauty. On me it has the same general feel as Bois d'Iris by Different Company but this lasts about 12 hours longer. Extraordinary lasting power, I have sprayed it on in early morning and still get whiffs at the end of the day. This starts with lovely clear unsweet iris but then a gentle woody tenderness takes over with but a hint of sweetness (and I mean a small hint). This is a fragrance that makes you want to leave all the others, and I haven't felt that way in a long time.

Really really great. Ranks in the top 3 of my favorite iris scents and I have jillduval to thank for letting me in on her split! The ambrette seed lends it a woodsy quality....and so you'll find it similar to Chanel 18 with more iris involved of course. Lasting power is excellent, the price is not bad either. If you are an iris lover you cannot do without trying this unique take. This is a good deal lighter than Tauer's version but it does share some similarities. Not as light in feel as Bois D'iris. Definitely worth a try.

This was previously called Eau d'Iris but according to Luckyscent it's the same fragrance. When I first tested this I smelled....paper. A clean white sheet of paper. After sniffing some more I can start to make out what's going on here, how iris is lightly warmed by amber and cedar, and somewhere there is an herbal note of angelica seeds. The overall effect is so crisp and spare--very unlike the detergent-like scents that are used to evoke freshness. It's a gorgeous whisper of a fragrance, and frustratingly light--I went through half my sample in one test--but it does linger a long time on the skin. I'm a writer and the idea of smelling like a fresh sheet of paper is irresistible, but others may not share my fetish!

Lovely, earthy, fresh and slightly powdery. There is that ever-present violet note that always seems to surface in Iris scents. No sweetness though, even though amber is listed as an ingredient. It is a cool spring day sprayed on your wrist. Comfortable for work, could never be offensive, it seems a very relaxing and pleasant scent. Notes from Luckyscent description are: white cedar, grey amber, iris, angelica seeds, ambrette.
