upon first spraying ether de lilas, i get a burst of mandarin and leaves. as it dries down, i still don't smell much lilac. so this perfume is not what i was expecting, and therefore i'm a little disappointed. the drydown is a pretty, if conventional, light musk, and like the reviewer before me said, it does smell quite a bit like a diluted version of a much stronger fume.

Bought unsniffed based on online reviews and captivated by the name. Overall I am happy with the purchase but I expected something lighter, more flighty and ethereal, while this is quite real and surprisingly musky. White lilac, passion flower and orange blosson on a musk base (other listed notes are bark, mandarin, leaves and iris). Pretty but not girly, infact I can see some men wearing this too. Like other PG perfumes it has a slightly gourmand sugary touch and I agree with the previous reviewer that there is rather a lot going on in this scent. It has a certain sheerness but it feels like this has been achieved through diluting a stronger scent rather than producing a sheer one per se (makes any sense ?).
