Excellent line. I personally like it very much. The packaging, scent, and of course it works so well.

This line saved my skin! I LOVE it! I don't know why some reviews for this are so bad! I guess it depends on your skin type. I have dry and very sensitive skin. I had awesome skin up until about 4 years ago. I started getting horrible bumps ALL OVER my forehead and quite a few on my chin and nose. The ones that are huge and just hurt and are stuck there under your skin.
I got a sample of the cleansing foam, the toner (the regular one, not the oil control one), and the pureness gel moisturizer at a Shiseido event. I absolutely LOVE this stuff! It takes a while to work, so give it a good 2-3 weeks before you judge it. It is really worth it! The cleanser is not too harsh and not too drying, even for my picky skin!
So now I only conceal the slight redness around my nose, and my dark circles, and that's about it for skin makeup for me! :)
I do get bumps every once in a while, but only a few. Compared to what I had before, my skin is amazing now! I definitely recommend this, especially if you have dry and sensitive skin like mine!

I am 23 years old and have always had perfect skin up until 10 months ago. I broke out with terrible acne and my skin became unbelievably dry. Since then I have been desperate to find a skincare line that worked for my combination skin and purchased many that did nothing (Normaderm, Proactive, Etival, Biotherm) I have been using the Pureness line for 1.5 months now. The first month things were not looking any better but the past 3 weeks my skin has gotten ALOT better (I also use Neostrata skin renewal Peel). I would reccomend this to anyone with combination skin since it has toned down my acne dramatically and left me with hydrated skin!

I bought this because the Shiseido counter lady told me that it would help my acne-prone/oily skin. It has no alcohol in it, nor any acne fighting ingredients, so it did nothing for preventing break-outs. I stopped using it after 3 weeks and gave it to my sister who doesn't have an acne problem.

The Pureness Line delivers exactly what it says it will: it hydrates the dry spots (in my case, my cheeks), and mattifies the oily places (my t-zone). I actually look forward to washing my face every day. A definite bonus is the scent. I can't describe how wonderful this stuff smells...it's not harsh or strong, just a nice clean, slightly floral-y smell that refreshes you. Yes the price is steep, but you really get what you pay for.

i tried a sample of the cleanser, toner, and lotion, i have acne prone skin and used nothing but this for 4 days.
Cleanser: smells good, feels good, a little over drying
toner: similar results as cleanser
moisturizer: feels the best, very light and hydrating but you have to use alot for dryness because its not very thick.
cons: made me breakout. it made my skin feel good though. and it made it kinda dry..which made my skin become more oily throughout the day. i think i'm allergic to salicylic acid, so if you have problems with salicylic acid dont try this.

I KNOW this stuff is overpriced, but I just can't resist. (Now how well did I sum up the shameless consumers of American there?) The packaging is lovely and pale blue, and the scent is soothing. It feels very nice on my skin. I even know that it's a bit drying, and it may not be the best for my skin. Although, so far, I haven't broken out once in the time that I've used this. I will definitely repurchase. I have the toner and the deep cleansing foam right now. The moisturizer really is too expensive for me, but it was my favorite out of the whole lineup. Woe, woe.

HG HG HG HG!!! the pricing is worth it!!

amazing facial cleanser, toner and moisturizer. never had an issue and ive been using this line for years since i was a teenager. if i could only use one line for the rest of my life, it would be shiseido, since their makeup is nice too :)
i must have gone through at least 4 tubes of their cleanser and the stuff is huge!

its great for acneprone skin types, and i can say my skin is now clear and certainly less oily when i use these products.
stick with it and it will (probably!) fix your skin issues.

I LOVE the Pureness line. I use the Deep cleanser, toner (softner) tzone controller, mattifying moisturizer and gel (night time) blemish clearing serum and I've been completely happy with this line! I've had terrible break out prone skin for the longest time, and the pureness line def. clears up blemishes, softens, smooths your skin.

before I used this line I actually went to the doctors to use his acne fighting topical s which cleared up my skin -- with the exception with a few pimples and now I'm totally happy with my skin!! I haven't seen it this great since I was 10!!

I first bought the cleanser, toner, gel moisturizer and pore minimizing cream. The price is very steep but the products do last you a good while (not the softning balancer you run out of it very quickly) . The packeging is great, you can get every last ounce out with every product.
The cleanser gives a squicky clean feel. I do however think that the products are a little to harsh on the skin in winter. Some parts of my T-zone have recently started to feel dry and flacky after cleansing (moisturizer controls that quite good). I've decides 'm either going to get the gentle cleanser from the Shseido The skincare line for winter or the daycream from that line to see if it makes a difference.
I loved the products so much that I bought the scrub and the compact foundation. I'm very pleased with those as well. I have found however that if you use the compact foundation as a setting/blotting powder on the T-zone , the shine will ge through. It won't happen if you just use the powder, which gives light to medium covarige.
The scrub doesn't warm-up extraordinary but it is the most gentle scrub that I've come across (even thou you use it on dry skin)
I don't think the products are good for teenagers. if you are in your twenties they're perfect.

I'm really mixed on this product. I have been a ProActiv user on and off for about 5 years, and other than a brief problem that I directly attribute to a certain MMU line, it had worked well for me. A nurse recently told me that women should switch skincare lines every few years so I decided to try Pureness by Shiseido. I invested in the face wash, toner and moisturizer, as well as the blotting sheets.

I like the way my face FEELS after using the products, but I do have some issues. My face is much oilier now - uncontrollably - and it broke out like crazy about 2 weeks after I first tried the products. I haven't had this many zits on my chin in probably 10 years! I can't tell if this is just my skin detoxing or if it's just not working with the new products.

At any rate, I am going back to using my ProActiv. I'll keep using the Shiseido to help remove makeup, and I'll use the moisturizer at night. As a plus - the blotting sheets totally rock!

I do recommend that you try this line if you have problems with oil and acne. While it didn't quite work for me, it is of great quality and I know that others love it. I WANT to love it too, but I guess it's just not for me.

I use the Shiseido Pureness skincare line as my daily cleaning regime, so I am very comfortable with all the products that I've used from this line.

I think that it is a good product to invest, if you're normal-oily skin. While it doesn't work miracles on your skin (which I know some people have been hoping for. ie. my friens), it does keep it clean and refreshed.

I mainly use the three-step system (is that what its called? I forgot. Sorry about that!) which is the cleansing foam, the toner, and then the moisturing gel-cream. Together, they help my skin be healthy and young. (LOL.I sound so much like a sales associate. But it is true, I love the line) It takes only 5 minutes to clean my skin every night, and its painless and pretty much messy-free.

The price can be rather steep, since this is a more 'high-end' brand, but luckily, I have my parents paying for it, so I can still afford it.

In additional, the scent is not irritating my skin, so I have no problems with that. Some other items I use include the pore-warming scrub and the wipes, but less frequently.

If financial isn't your problem, I'd say go check out some of their products.

I used this when i was younger hoping that it would clear up my acne (the SA told me it would). It didn't. IMO, this is just a regular skin care line. If you have serious acne problems, and are thinking about using this to control it, don't buy it! i recommend seeing a doctor instead. I met with my doctor and she gave a some acne medication gel to use along with a powerful sunscreen. Since then, my skin has been cleared for the last 8 years.

I'm currently using the moisturiser, softener and deep cleansing foam - and loving them all to bits. I am in my early twenties, am a former "pizzaface" from my teens (till a kind dermatologist put me on roaccutane) and while my skin is not horrible nowadays, does suffer from oiliness typical of my italian background. I've been using these products for roughly 2 months, and have had the clearest skin ever since just coming off roaccutane all those years ago. I was always so sceptical of expensive skincare, but I am incredibly impressed at how well my skin responds to Shiseido. I think if you are of an asian or mediterranean background (read: oily faced) it is certainly worth a shot.

I bought this product thinking I would have nicer skin. My mom uses the Benefiance line, so I tried the Pureness line since this was what the saleslady recommended for your younger people. I used ProActiv before for about 2 years, it worked well for me but later on I started to break out and have really dry skin. I tried the Pureness skincare and was so happy to find that my skin wasn't as dry anymore and it felt my skin was very much moisturized. But days later, I had started getting bumps on my face which then turned into pimples! My skin has never been this ugly before! II regret having bought this product which was almost a hundred dollars just for the basic cleanser, toner and moisturizer! so not worth it!

overall this range is very good, i've used it for about 2 years or so when i was around 16-17 years old. it cleared up my skin pretty well, not completely but it definitely helped a lot. i would say that this range is quite expensive because it runs out fast. well worth it for the effects though. and it smells good too. i would want to use it again in the future, but being me, i cant help but try out other products (which is killing my skin now lol ).

I've been having spots since 19 (i'm 24 now). I've tried everything, both expensive and inexpensive, and even if something helped the effect was short-term. My skin was in a very poor condition, with huge red aching spots. I started using the Pureness line about 3 months ago and my face has cleared up, my spots are gone and my skin is now smooth and moisturised. These products are quite expensive but they are worth it. I love my skin now, thank you Shiseido! I forgot to add that i use Deep Cleansing Foam, Anti-Shine Refreshing Lotion and Moisturising Gel-Cream

Have been using the softening balancer, matifying moisturiser, cleansing water and compact powder for half a year. Skin have improved and i have seen a decrease in pimples and acne, but i suspect it's more likely due to the antibiotic medication i took.
The moisturiser was quite good at matifying my oily skin, but five hours later, sebrum would start to show, even with the compact powder on, which is supposed to matify the skin as well. Well, maybe my face is resilent to the double matifying control.
Conclusion: Just basic skincare products, best vote goes to the cleansing water, which is a very good make up remover/cleanser by the way.

Some products are better than others, but overall, Pureness products did not heal my blemishes like the Shiseido lady said they would. But the cleanser and the toner do make my skin feel more pure, but maybe I'm just easily convinced by the name

I really wanted to love this line, my mom has been using shiseido products for over 20 years and people always think she's maybe 40 when she's turning 54 this year. HOWEVER, this line made my skin break out HORRIBLY! The woman at the counter told me it would take a month for my skin to clear up because zits on your face actually formed two weeks ago, and the products are changing the consistency of your skin. I used it for over a month and a half and my skin never looked so terrible ever. I only had a few whiteheads I was trying to get rid of and now my skin looks like I'm incredibly toxic. I drink plenty of water and eat only organic foods, so I know this "pureless" line was 100% responsible. If you're looking for a miracle line PURENESS is definitely NOT IT!
