No, this does not smell like peony in the least. I have the L'Occitane one, and that one is reminiscent of peonies. On me, this is like bathroom air freshener note. The Lilac one almost does this, but doesn't quite reach the air freshener note, which is why I like that one better. This one just doesn't work for me. This is a recently purchased bottle (2011), and I've heard the older bottles smell better. I would love to try one of those.

I used to wear the original PIVONE fragrance in high school, i absolutely adored it but it has since been discontinued, sadly...sniff. When I saw this on Yves website I was so excited, thinking that I has retrived my lost fragrance love! Waited eagerly for UPS, ripped open the package, and....sigh. Nothing like what I expected. I mean, this is nice, a VERY floral peony fragrance, but floral is all it is. Singular scent. The old PIVONE had notes of musk and other lovely depth, and it was oh so pretty...even at fifteen I recieved compliments from every age group, men and women alike. But this new one? It is an okay floral, I use it to spray my pillows or the bedroom, but that is it. Definately not going to purchase this again. What a letdown. :(

I rushed to the store to try this after is was recommended by quite a few girls on the boards. Actually I came home with Pur Desir de Lilas.

For me Pur Desir de Pivoine is not at all a Peony Solifore but more of a rose floral scent with some Peony mixed in. I love scents with Peony as they are usually soft and soothing however I found this fragrance to be more on the abrasive side.

It is still a nice floral and very good for the price. If you wait you can actually get them every now and then for half price. I can only score this with 2 as I was expecting a Peony fragrance. This can also be called Pur Desir de Rose and no one would be the wiser.

Very nice scent. I don't think it smells a whole lot like peony, I thought peony was a much sweeter, fruity scent, but maybe I'm wrong.
This scent is very floral and fresh, and it smells very nice. It reminds me a lot of Estee Lauder's Pleasures.
It is a single note, however, somehow it smells soft and somewhat sharp at the same time. Not sharp in a bad way, though.

I think anyone who likes floral scents will love this one.

Surprisingly strong and floral, my first unsniffed impression of the pink bottle was shattered after the first spray.

I'm not sure it smells of true peonies - I find a good hint of tuberose aswell.

But nevertheless, this Pivoine smells like a bouquet of freshly cut roses and peonies up to my nose. Reminds me of an old and wellkept garden with lots of oldfashioned flowers where I want to dip my nose into every blooming plant I can see.

I'm even surprised I would consider wearing a fragrance like that, as I'm into (fl)orientals and not soliflores.

Yves Rocher made me rethink the idea of wearing soliflores, as every scent of the Pur Désir line smells quite true to the real thing.
They have done a good job with this line, except for the lasting abilities.

Keeping it in my bag for reapplying will be considered.

Just a note:

After more than 15 years of being a repeat customer at Yves Rocher, I've closed my membership and account after being treated rudely one last time by their customer service in Norway. Clearly the company has a worldwide issue with their customers if they are dissatisfied, after reading more than one review mentioning it.

Peony is my absolute favorite flower and I have been disappointed by many peony fragrances. Yves Rocher peony line was recommended to me by the ladies on the fragrance board as a very true single note peony. I ordered the complete peony line: the body wash, lotion, spray, and antiperspirant. Tried all together for the first time today, and am thrilled!!! The scent is so true, and I can't believe it. I don't detect any rose smell to this, it is perfect! It smells clean, not sharp or powdery. My only small complaint is that the antiperspirant and lotion have mineral oil. I would be willing to pay a little more to not have mineral oil. This was also my first order from Yves Rocher. Their products are so inexpensive. Can't believe I found a great peony line this inexpensive and much better quality then more expensive brands. Yves Rocher also always has great sales and very low free shipping quota ($15-25) all the time, but they ship from Canada so it took just under 2 weeks for delivery. Comes in to the US through NJ, so if you are in the New England area it would probably be a little faster. Highly recommended to all peony lovers! HG!!!!!

A very soft light powdery scent that smells more like rosewater to me than peony. If you are familiar with the Original Yves Rocher Pivoine, this is nothing like it at all. Pur Desir is more of a single note of soft peony (rose to my nose). It is very pretty and light I just wish they would bring back the original scent.

This is a perfect peony soliflore fragrance. It reminds me of BlueQ Miso Pretty that my little girls love, minus the sharp, scratchy green-ness. Smooth, non-cloying and my little girls (4 & 5) smell so pretty when I spritz this airy floral in their hair.

I love and still own the original Pivoine. Both are beautiful, but this one really smells like fresh peonies from the garden after the rain.

I smelled this new Pivoine fragrance by Yves Rocher. It's a nice, fresh, young and uncomplicated scent. It reminds me on Eternity Moments! "A "fresh-squeezed floral" that is mouth-watering and lucious." The fragrance is very long lasting. Nice product for little money. Great.

This is a new perfume they just brought out, not to be confused with the old Pivoine (which I loved). They had it on display at the entrance to my store and you could spray yourself as you walked in, that was a good thing because otherwise I would have never discovered this fragrance. It is so wonderful, the bottle is pink but I would never have thought of it as a pink fragrance, to me it is light green and yellow, it is a light summery scent (like all of these Pur Desir scents I suppose), smells a lot like a baby cologne which can be found anywhere over here and which is very popular and super cheap (about like a little over 1 Euro for a litre bottle), of course it lasts a little longer than the baby cologne but it is almost not worth getting this perfume since the baby cologne is so cheap. But since we are not babies I suppose it does make you feel a little better throwing on an adult perfume instead of a baby one and at any rate even though it is light it is not as light as the baby scent. It is certainly a very beautiful and delightful fragrance, smells like oranges and citric things, very sweet but not cloying or overwhelming at all.
