I usually have clear skin, but when I bought this a couple of months ago, I'd been getting occasional but really painful zits on unusual (for me) places like my cheeks. These zits would take their time growing under the skin, look ugly for awhile, make my whole face hurt like a bruise, and usually leave temporary scars. I wanted to avoid all this, so I bought the Super Spot remover at my local Origins. The SA cautioned me to use a very small amount. Per his warning, I was really conservative with it- I'd squeeze it (which annoyingly makes a giant glob appear on top of the bottle) let it go back down into the hole, and tap a Q-tip on the residue. A week after I got the SSR, a monstrous pimple and a smaller one next to it appeared under my cheekbone. I applied the Super Spot remover as recommended, but saw no difference. One day, slightly frustrated, I put more on the Q-tip- definitely not a glob, but enough that I could actually feel the gel as I applied a thin layer to my pimple. I should've figured out my mistake when it burned even more than normal. Soon after, I sported a dark red (almost black!) mark on my cheek. It looked like a cigarette burn! It finally faded slightly, but it's been almost 3 months and I have a resolutely dark pink spot and a smaller one next to it where my acne was. I was getting my makeup done recently and I could feel the woman layering concealer over my my scar. The pimple probably would have left a mark if left alone, but not to the extent that SSR caused. A couple of weeks ago, I got a pimple on my chin that I left alone and the mark it left is almost completely faded in contrast to the scar on my cheek. That said, I had a couple of chin zits that I also used this for when I got it. Though it didn't seem to help that much, I didn't get lasting scars there. I'm staying away from this now... to me, it's better to wait it out than to risk scarring/burning myself with this. I'm normally a big Origins fan, but the SSR is one exception. The only thing I like about it is the adorable tiny bottle.

This treatment is very drying, and leaves my acne very red after use. Although it does reduce pimple size, it doesn't help prevent more breakouts. It also smells weird. So I don't think I would recommend this to many people.

I got a sample of this at Sephora as i got a pretty bad breakout using a Laura Mercier Primer.
I've been using it for the past week. It's pretty strong and seems to be working. I mean i'm not looking for a miracle but it does bring the spots down. The cons for this product is that when i wake up in the morning I find my spots Extremely RED. They look terriable. Although the spots have been brought down they are so red that I have to put on concealor on top of them just to be able to go to work. And i'm sure the concealor causes irritation through out the day and not helping in the healing process.
Because of this factor i can only give this product a 3/5 unfortunately

I bought this to compare it to my La Roche Posay Effeclair AI by which I swear.
Well I have to say, even though the Origins is an effective treatment, I still prefer the Effeclair. Why? Because the Origins is very drying, while the Effeclair is not drying at all but does the same - if not a better - job.
I feel the Effeclair is better at reducing redness than the Origins, because it's not as irritating to the skin.
The Origins is good for huge irritated pimples because it dries any liquid out, but I don't find it as effective for spots that haven't come out yet. And because it's so drying, if you try to use makeup on the spot the next day, it will just look cakey. Not so with the Effeclair, and you get more product for about the same price as well!
UPDATE: I've updated this from 4/5 to 5/5 because I found I can use it during the day on my forehead, unlike the Effeclar. It basically forms an almost transparent layer on top of the spot and stays put all day, and because I have a fringe/ bangs, I can use it on areas that my hair covers, helping to heal those spots even faster! (Still find it too drying though, but I'll live with it.)

This stuff works great! Its especially effective on those pimples that you can feel are beginning to form under your skin. I apply this at night and it really helps minimize the bump and prevent it from getting worse! I like how it stings a little too - i find it soothing! Although it seems like your not getting much product, a little bit goes a long way. I can only use this at night though because its a gel that dries, which makes it obvious if you wear it during the day.

*EDIT* I now decide that I hate this product and will not use it again. After a few weeks of not using it I got another cystic pimple back, after applying this at night I woke up the next morning, the pimple had tripled in size, was incredibly painful and a deep red shade where as it was my normal skin colour before application. It is now taking forever to go. So disappointed.
*OLD* I love this product as I get cystic pimples. It gets rid of them within two days. I've seen people say that it has gotten rid of their spots overnight but that has not happened for me. I find it works better if I apply a thick blob to the spot. However, my skin is dry and flaky where the spot is but I just put a bit of coconut oil on there once the spot healed and it's fine again. considering my under-the-skin spots would be here for weeks and now go within two days it is worth the £12 but I have given it 4 instead of 5 as I would like it to be less expensive.

This product stings and drys out the spot causing redness and the skin looking very dry. Didn't notice a quick recovery of fading spots, you are better off with a tea tree oil stick!

I really wanted to like this product, but I feel like I could have spent the money on something better...
I have some active blemishes on my face, and I've heard people raving about Origins Super Spot Remover so I've decided to give it a try. I bought it from Ebay for 18.5$ (minus shipping), which to me is ridiculous.
When I applied it I felt like the spot's area is itching, and I assumed it's just how the product works. But the next day it literally burnt the skin around my blemish, and barely even made any difference to my blemish.
I still use it because I feel like it does keep my acne in control, but it doesn't make it better, which sucks.
I'm very disappointed.
Regardless the price and quality, the packaging and the amount of product you get (3oz/10ml) is absurd! The packaging is super annoying and I had trouble getting the product out.
I wouldn't recommend it, but it might just not work for me...

This product does reduce the redness around the pimple area. Pimple does look slightly smaller. Not drying. However this product is not very useful in helping the pimple heal faster, it only makes it less visible.

I had a very large, incredibly sore cystic pimple at the top of my cheekbone that has been causing me some pain over the last few days. Last night I applied a smidgen of this baby on it and when I woke up in the morning, my pimple had reduced from an active volcano to a significantly smaller red dot; and it's not painful anymore!
It's quite expensive for a tiny bottle ($19 for 10ml) but you don't need to use much at all. Plus you wouldn't want to use much at all anyway, it can be incredibly drying.
Would totally repurchase this again in the future.

I bought this treatment two times already and I really love it. As others said it`s not that effective on whiteheads and existing pimples but it`s the best against the forming ones. I mostly use this at nighttime (rarely in the morning) because of it`s drying effect, but for me max 2 days and the ever so slightly forming pimple is gone. It is really expensive for the amount you get, but believe me it`s gonna last forever! Only downside is the packeging at least for me, because every time I open the bottle there is some blob coming right out of it (without me doing anything!) and most of the time it`s much more than I would need. But yeah, it`s sooooo effective....that I would always repurchase.
Btw, I have the one in the old transparent bottle not this new blue one.

this is strong stuff. whenever im about to get a big pimple (ie i feel a slight bump, some soreness over the area and realise the impending disaster) i just put a small blob of the spot remover over it, twice a day for about 3 days and the would-be pimple gets sent back to wherever it came from. it stings and leaves a very tight, shiny patch where the blob dried but i just slab on some moisturizer after i judge that the pimple has suffered enough. it's unspectacular on pimples/whiteheads that have already formed. but then again, ive yet to find a product that actually gets rid of pimples after they pop up.
i will re-purchase cos ive rough, big-pored skin that can withstand stronger treatments and cos of the magic it works on that large breed of pimple that comes from lack of sleep / fried food. sometimes i even mix a tiny amount of it into my toner (FANCL lotion light - its moisturizing) so i don't need to have another astringent toner. it's pretty expensive, but i always redeem it with Origins promotions.

Don't be fooled by the picture you see online. This bottle is so incredibly tiny. I used the entire thing on my pimples and it didn't help with the size or color of the pimple what so ever. It stung a little and smelled terrible. It did nothing to help my pimples. And for so much money, it was less than impressive. I have heard great things about Origins, but this one is a dud!

I quite like this product. I've only been using it for a couple weeks but I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised - this is my first proper venture into Origins after using a sample of Modern Friction a while ago which didn't really do anything for me. Anyway, so, my skin is sensitive, pretty much normal/combination, but I use this whenever I notice an odd annoying spot appearing when I take off my make-up in the evening. I just use a cotton bud / q-tip to dab a tiny bit on any blemishes after I moisturise. It stings a little but it actually seems to bring down the redness and even if it doesn't totally get rid of them, it seems to halt them from getting any worse, sort of stops them in their tracks before they get any bigger or painful. A couple days after I apply this the spot will dry up and I'll get a slightly dry patch, but nothing some moisturiser can't fix. As others have said it is a really tiny bottle, but then you do only need a TINY bit of product to dab on, and I find the little squeezy bottle quite handy.

I've only been using this for about 2 weeks, so I won't speak yet as to its fade abilities. But....it would have to be pretty amazing for me to repurchase. I was looking for a non-hydroquinone fade cream on a recommendation from my esthetician who said I should take a break from it every few months. I chose this and purchase from ebay.
My biggest beef is the consistency. It's very runny so it's difficult to get the right amount out of the tube--it tends to just pour out a lot since it's so thin.
So unless all the brown spots on my cheeks are completely gone by the time I finish the tube, it's not something I would use again

Effective form of blemish control. But take care to avoid contact with the area around the blemish as irritation and marking may result!

I didn't believe this would work but it does!
I put it on a spot last night, woke up this morning and it's considerably less red and raised.
I don't think you can expect miracles but it's nice to know that if you put this on your spot - when you wake up it will be a lot less severe.
I just dropped a couple of drops onto a q-tip and applied it to the spot after I washed my face.
It worked anyway.
Will definitely repurchase for peace of mind!
