A lovely shade. I've been a fan of nail polishes for years, but mostly own dark colors. I was looking for something a bit more subtle and "professional" and decided to try Sand Castle. I usually apply 2 coats, but 3 would be best for a more finished look (as I can still see streaks with only 2 coats). I like that it's shimmery, but not overly so. I never had a problem with drying time and the application of my second coat, but I assume that it's not the best nail polish to choose if you're in a hurry.
I will definitely re-purchase, though!

One of the best nail polishes I have tried to date. There's nothing particularly special about this polish; it doesn't dry super fast or have an array of trendy colours. What I do love(lovelove ever so much) is the brush, because it coutours to my nails, is small enough for my tiny ones, and dispenses the right amount of product. Having a good brush is so important so you get every crevice of the nail and so you don't have a blob of polish of on one side of the nail (from too much product on the brush). The only problem is that you need a top coat, but that goes for a lot of nail polishs. And I wouldn't mind if it had some permanent trendy colours, which are often only limited edition :/

LOVE this nail polish shade. After Sally Hansen discontinued my favorite pinky nude shade, Spa Sandalwood, I've been on a quest to find a replacement. The L'Oreal shade is even better. It does take 2 or 3 coats to get nice, even coverage, but with the aid of a buffing block before painting nails and a topcoat after, my manicure lasted a solid week before I started to see minimal chipping. I highly recommend this shade if you're looking for something subtle that is, as another reviewer stated, not too pink or not too nude. I'm stocking up in case L'Oreal decides to discontinue the shade!

While the color is lovely, the drying time is terrible. I was using this as the base color for a french manicure (as it is the exact color of my nail beds), and let it dry OVERNIGHT on my nails. The next morning, I applied french tip guides, painted the tips, and removed the guides. Apparently, the Sand Castle was not yet thoroughly dry, and bits of it lifted off with the adhesive guide. I tapped on it with my fingernail, and it dented too!
With an ordinary manicure, I suppose using a quick-dry top coat like Seche Vite would resolve this issue, but that wouldn't have worked in my french manicure situation where tips need to be painted after application.
This polish is also a bit streaky, and needs two coats minimum to even out.
The brush is slightly wider than the average drugstore polish brush, so that was a plus.
I searched the OPI display for a duplicate that would give me a faster drying time, less streakyness, and better overall quality. A close match is "I Love Yokohama," but it does contain a much stronger shimmer (a good thing in my opinion) than Sand Castle. The base colors are pretty similar though.

Love this line of nail polish! This is my HG nail polish and now the only one I ever use.
The brush is excellent, makes for easy application without gobs. Easy when cleaning though, I broke my first bottle of this because I pulled to hard. The range of shades is also perfect. I looove this! Don't know what I'd do without it.
Particularly, the 510 shade is perfect for my toes. Not too nude, not too pink. I have already repurchased and will continue to do so.

This is so pretty. The color's an incredibly sweet-looking "nude" MNBB sort of shade, though, and works well with my light, yellow-toned skin: a sandy shell-pink that's just pink enough. Not too fleshy or peachy. And not too light. Also has just the right dose of pale, microscopic shimmer to make the color a bit dimensional. Perfection.
Goes on a bit streakily and unevenly, though. The first coat glides on, but the second coat can be problematic. You have to make sure your first coat is completely dry or the second one will go on patchily and even then it still looks a bit a$$ unless you're very, very careful.
The bottle is a nice shape. The brush is nicely wide, making application easy, but the color does go on streakily unless you really saturate the brush. The wear (with my cheapo NYC top coat) is average--some wearing away at the edges after a few days. I don't mind as I'm not too picky about my nails. The price is okay too. I think I would repurchase this color, as I haven't found another nude that's as nice at the drugstore.
