This tinted moisturizer has a fresh, clean scent that I really like, sometimes you can still smell it even after the product is applied. The consistency is quite thin and the coverage is very light. I think there are only two shades available, I am a NW15 and the sand one is a pretty good match. I mean, it's definitely too dark for me but because of the light coverage and thin consistency it can be blended to look quite natural (especially in the summer or when I use self-tanner). I like the tube but because it's white it can look messy. Won't repurchase because it's too dark for me but I'm glad I tried it.
I don't find it that much better than the Nivea TM (especially not considering this one is five to six times more expensive) but I have dry skin so perhaps this one is more suited for oily or combination skin because it's not that moisturizing.

I love it! It is a great product!
Spent ages looking for very light foundation but I wasn`t happy with any so I started looking for tinted moisturizer. I read reviews watched you tube, tested some in shop and purchased chanel hydramax. Love it!

I was looking for a tinted moisturiser that will give a nice glow, without using 'illuminating particles' (which always look too sparkly in some lights), and this does the trick. It has a very nice finish, that makes you look dewy, but the product is practically invisible. I like really natural make up, so this is a definite plus! I can look at my skin up close in the mirror without being able to detect any make up. I don't use heavy coverage products, so I don't know how this fares in that area.
One thing is, the colour range is very limited. I think only 3 shades? The Sand shade is probably a good match for my skin in the summer, but right now, I am mixing it with my sunscreen to dilute the colour.
Otherwise, this tinted moisturiser is lovely, and I would purchase again.

EDIT: It becomes orange during the course of the day... Love the finish, not the colour anymore.

Great tinted moisturizer- the formula looks great on skin, adds a nice sheen...Can melt when it's too hot, and the packaging is hard to get the last bit out, but I like it. Very light. I tried BObbi Brown and this was so much better. NO break outs!

I wanted this tinted moisturiser as a summer alternative to foundation on those "casual" days when full on make up isnt needed.
The packaging is a nice clean looking square tube, the only downfall of the packaging though is its hard to get the last of the product out! Its simply too hard too squeeze it out when you get to the last little bit. Sometimes i cut the bottle open at this stage to save wasting any product. But then theres no way of preserving the moisturisers freshness after cutting it open so a little waste is inevitable!!
Im not sure if this moisturiser came in two or three shades, However sand is suitable for me as it gives a summer glow. If i were to use it all year round i`d buy a shade lighter. As the coverage is sheer concealer may be needed on any problem areas.
I get quite an oily t-zone especially in the summer months so wasnt sure a hydrating product would be right for me, but even though this product is rich in texture it seems to sink straight in! It has a pleasent non chemical smell. When squeezed from the tube the colour could look a little scary but amazingly seems to disappear into the skin beautifully. It doesnt state on the back of the tube if its oil free or not but to me it doesnt slide off my oily patches,so even if it does have oil in it i think it would be worth anyone with combination skin trying.
Its lasts for ages as you only need to use a little of it. I would re perchase when i need to because for something thats advertised as being hydrating it seems to do just that WITHOUT being greasy, heavy or taking ages to sink in!

Since I don't like full coverage liquid foundations this moisturizer is a very good alternative! It actually keeps the skin moist from morning until xx and gives the face a really nice smooth looking glow (not shiny!) without creasing or getting cakey. It smells fresh and flowery, so those of you who don't like smelly products should be aware that during application you get a good whiff of it! After application the (in my opinion very nice) smell disappears.
For a moisturizer the coverage is pretty heavy but still not as much as a "real" foundation.
Applies easily, I'm using my fingers but brush works as well. I tried to apply it with a wet sponge and achieved no good result. It does not make sense to apply oily products with a wet sponge since oil and water don't like each other. So brush and fingers or dry sponge go well for application.
Big con: In Switzerland only available in 2 shades (sand and a darker rather orangey shade) and the price.
Big pro: Works also for dry skins and gives a lasting result, no breakouts so far (and I tend to have them, oh yeah...!).

I really like this TM. It has the perfect consistency and leaves my skin glowing without that heavy feeling. It also keeps my skin moistuized the whole day plus it prevents my skin from dry flakes (due to acne meds and winter) which most TMs (even my beloved MAC TM) accentuated. I also love the smell of this TM. The only problem I have is the colour. Being the lightest shade (in Canada), #10 Sable - Sand is too dark for my NC20-25ish skintone. I use a tiny tiny bit and mix it with my moisturizer and its much better but still a tad bit dark (hence 4 lippies). I guess it gives me a warm, healthy bronzey/tan glow. Won't re-purchase because of the dark colour. I wish Chanel would make this TM in a lighter shade for my skintone. I simply love this product but too bad no sale for me! The best part is its non-comedogenic too!

I wanted to love this TM after mostly favourable reviews, but alas I did not completely succeed. What I very much like about it is a feel of my skin after application--it becomes incredibly, miraculously soft and smooth.
Otherwise it's quite an ordinary product. It's rather thick and difficult to apply evenly. Besides, the Sand tint is not a perfect match for me, as it's a bit orange and creates a weird dirty-ish look (maybe I'm just too strict and nobody can notice it but me). My pores are huge and remain the same with this TM, it won't minimize them. I'm also not very much impressed by the scent, it is subtle but quite annoying.
Well, my conclusion is this TM does not meet my make-up expectations (which are really very moderate), but at the same time its good moisturizing properties suggest that I try Chanel's day cream Hydramax + Active.

I don't use base foundation, but have been curious enough to tiptoe into TM's. Am I ever glad that I did! This is so natural looking, but...better. It instantly hydrates and "perks up" my skin. This gives me an almost sporty glow, like I've just been out for a walk in the fresh air. It's sheer, but really does make a difference. It evens out my complexion without making me look or feel made up.

I only use full coverage foundations day or night and in any occasion. So I always thought that tinted moisturizers were such an unnecessary thing to buy especially a super expensive one like this chanel one and I had never used one until some samples of this came in my hands.First of all I like a lot the packaging and he scent of this product.Comes in a white tube has spf 15 and contains avobenzone and methoxycinnamate for sunscreens. My skin reacts quite bad to chemical sunscreens but it doesn't seem to have problem with this product although I have to say that I used only 3 samples of this for almost 3 weeks.well this product has magnificent texture glides and spreads amazing on the skin,it's quite light and not oily at all actually is that light that if you have dry to very dry skin this may not be good for you. This will be good for those who have oily, combination or normal skin type.So the texture is amazing feels SUPER nice and made my skin look so fresh. Also another think that I liked a lot was the fact that this was quite a long lasting product and I have to tell you that I wasn't expecting that at all......I used to use a minimum amount of loose powder on top of this and my face was perfect all day long. The one think that made me take one lippie of was the coverage for me is TOO low I mean it's next to nothing that low...When I was using this I was on vacation and make up was the last think on my mind but now that I m back in the city I don't even dare to wear this and go out.So while the weather is still hot I m using this as a moisturizer/primer for my regular foundation and works excellent

I absolutely love this stuff. It seems like more of a really light makeup than a TM. It goes on kind of funny at first and has a fleeting, light scent, but then it immediately settles into a smooth, natural, long-lasting finish that looks just like my skin only a lot better. Does not aggravate my oily skin in any way. Not crazy about the container, prefer a softer tube, but will definitely repurchase.

This is a superb daily use product for my indian skin tone.Provides spf, sheer coverage, and is not greasy, not drying either.I mix this with a bit of le blanc de Chanel for a slightly paler look or wear with chanel's bronze universal for a darker look.Expensive but definitely worth the price.

Wish there was a HELL YEAH option on would you buy this product again! This is the absolute best on me. The first time I used my sample I looked way too dark, washed off and started again with less product. I have a sun-kissed look without streaks, I love it!! I've also noticed that I don't have to powder so much throughout the day. This is one of the best products I've used! I bought the full size after using the sample.

This my friends is wonderful on me. Why? Because this doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation, It's SPF, the color match is more of a clean slate of a little sun.

The MA she was caucasian with blue eyes and I'm Indian with olive caramel tan. She was wearing the same ONE. wow. Now that's a first for me. ARE YOU STILL READING LADIES lol!!!!

Overall. Pleasant fresh scent that fades quickly, the feeling from putting it on then forgetting that you wearing something on your skin is fast. I love the tube, 56$ CDN Holy crap that's $$$ for me but it's totally worth it and for an SPF it didn't make my oily skin look like I dipped my face in olive oil!!! A light dew very nice.

Do not ever Discontinue this Chanel!!!

This tinted moisturiser has a very unusual texture, which is unlike anything else on the market. It gives the cleanest and most natural look (and feel) of any base I've ever tried, and I constantly get comments about how well I look whenever I wear it. The product appears quite thick and creamy when it comes out of the tube, but melts into the skin to give a sheer and very natural coverage. As a few other reviewers have pointed out, applying it over a primer or normal moisturiser makes a huge difference to how good this looks - it blends so much easier with some sort of prep on the skin first. I usually use a concealer or dab of powder foundation on my chin, but on the rest of the face and neck, this looks gorgeous all on its own.

The 'Sand' shade is the lightest, and gives a warm peachy look to the skin. 'Sunlit', which is the next shade up, isn't that much darker, but is a slightly different tone, and 'Bronzelit' is the darkest of all. The shade range, whilst limited, is tremendously confusing, because not all the shades are available worldwide, and even when you can find all three, the colour swatches of the two lightest shades aren't very helpful in deciphering the rank order. I would say that anyone except a celtic or porcelain skintone could use 'Sand', with the next two shades being best for olive, mediterranean or asian skin tones.

The tube is very smart, but quite stiff, so it's hard to get the last of the product out. That is the only very minor negative for a great product that gives you natural, velvety, healthy looking skin - never oily or greasy. I hope Chanel nevr discontinue this or mess about with the formulation. 5/5!

When I first applied this product on my face, I was fairly disappointed. The texture was not smooth. In fact, it was streaky, and I had to apply a lot to even out my skin tone. I tried using a wet brush, but the coverage wasn't good. Later, when my skin begin to clear up, I tried this product again, and it was great! What I did was apply my regular moisterizer all over my face (Clinique Moisture Surge), then mix the tinted moisturizer with a second moisturizer (Clinique again) & Voila! The product went on smoothly, and I had flawless skin. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this for people who need maximum coverage, it's great for those who have near-perfect skin or if you have a few blemishes or acne scars like me here and there. It gives you a dewy look, but beware of shiny noses. (I always get shiny noses regardless.) Do not apply alot, only a little mixed with moisterizer. And I wouldn't apply it with medicated moisterizer or lotions (those with benzoyl peroxide & salicylic acid) because it will rub off like dirt. I don't know how to explain it.

I was surprised that Sand was the lightest shade they had. I'm NC35 and have olive tan skin and this color blended in perfectly. It's extremely moisturizing and has the same lovely smell that the original hydramax cream has. It made my skin look dewy and even and a little goes a long way. Overall, i am quite satisfied with the product, though it is puzzling how this product would cater to people with lighter skin.

I love this TM. It's not as orange or pink as the similar shades in Laura Mercier and Dior, respectively; the yellow-based tint is perfect for my Asian skin. It melts into your skin and provides good coverage without being heavy. I have very oily, acne-prone skin and the Chanel TM did not leave my face greasy or cause any breakouts. In terms of TMs, this is my HG product. I am willing to shell out the dosh for this superior product.

I have a pale skin and sand is exact match. I ordered this online and based to there reviews somehow expected it to be too dark. It was not, but fragrance is not what I like. I much prefer Yves Rocher Serum vegetal tinted moisturizer to this because it has better texture, milder fragrance and slightly better coverage and much better price. Tho I do like the way this sinks in very quickly and never leaves me greasy.
