i love the coverage of the 4 in 1 powder. the mascara is great too. other reviewers complained about the Pur brush, but i think it's just right (maybe they improved it).

I read all the negative reviews here and thought I'd put in my 2 cents. I LOVE this foundation. I get a healthy glow, a fresh-faced look and it lasts ALL day (when you wear a primer). I'm very happy with it and will certainly buy the full-size products when I run out of the trial ones. I paid $40 (CAD) for the kit and received a gift with purchase cosmetics bag that contained another chisel brush and trial-sized 4-in-1 fdn powder. Good price and good quality!

i was using bare minerals. now its made in china.
pur is made in america. so i tried it.
love the primer, never used any before. this powder covers more than bare minerals, but maybe its the primer? stays on longer and is a compact that i can take with me if necessary.

I wont be buying this again.....it gave my face an unnatural hue and to get any coverage you have to apply and apply....It just seems like this should be used as a finishing powder and nothing more.....the bronzer has too much glitter in it and the blush/face brightener made me look pink....I'll stick with my bare minerals.

I'm not reviewing the actual products, I will do that separately, but this review is for the kit itself.
I purchased a Pur Minerals kit off the shopping channel before and I thought this would be the same thing. This is not the same, the sizes are VERY small. I knew they were trial size but I was not expecting them to be this small. They are basically the same circumference as the brush. I ordered this online somewhere so I didn't realize the actual sizes until they arrived. Also, the compact seems quite deep to give the illusion that the product is much larger than it is, but I'm sure the pan with the product doesnt go that deep.
I'm about an NC42 and I ordered the Tan. It's a touch too light, but it's summer and I really wanted this for winter as I don't believe these products are suitable for summer heat. The included brush is good, it gives maximum coverage. The products are all high quality but I don't think you can layer too many of them (powder foundation + bronzer + blush) as they have a shimmery look and when I used all 3 it looked frosty/dirty. They seem a lot more frosted than they were when I purchased it 4 years ago.
A bit pricey for eyeshadow-sized products, will likely repurchase some of the products but not this specific kit. If you really want to try this and are unable to get a shopping channel deal, then I recommend this. Otherwise, you are likely to get a better deal on these products elsewhere.

Purchased this in Tan and Medium Dark. The medium dark is actually lighter shade than the tan, Medium dark has yellow undertones. Returned the Tan don't think I could use it in even in the summer. I'm C40 in MAC.
Application is easy, for mornings in a rush this is golden!
This is not my special occasion foundation, but for everyday/running errands it works. And coverage is pretty decent.
I have oily skin, I did notice a bit more shine than normal, I have to blot sooner than usual.
The bronzer included in the kit is ok, a bit ashy on me, but I use an alternate bronzer.
Will repurchase the foundation, not the kit. The blush is nice.

I bought this product about a year ago in the medium color since I was told the color will blend in with all shade ranges. Well let me tell you, it did NOT blend in with my shade. Nor did it even even out my skin tone. The bronzer was very pale and it MADE ME BREAK OUT with crazy zits all over my cheeks.
The only pro about this product is the foundation brush. I pretty much just chucked everything else from this kit out the window

I typically hate MMU, mainly because at my age I think it makes me look older and accentuates my fine lines, despite the heavy use of moisturizer before hand. I've tried BE ( Made me itch like mad and look shiny..ugh), EM was ok, not great. Silk naturals was the far best, but I really just hate minerals because they are messy and more ends up in the sink then on my face. One of the reasons I like this Pur Minerals kit is that in comes pressed, making much less messy. I also found the formula to be less shiny than BE. It really evened out my skintone and covered up my blemishes. I am using a moisturizing concealer around my eyes instead of powder and it makes a difference, later in the day when you see creepiness set in. The key to making minerals look good is a good silicone primer and deep moisturizing before hand. I find that they can make you dry. I typically wear liquid foundation but My Doctor told me to switch to minerals while we get my sensitivity issues under control. I picked this kit up from ULTA in Light and it was easy to apply. What I do to get it to adhere and last longer is after I do one light layer, I spray DDF Aloe Toner on my face, pat with a Flocked sponge and then do another layer. With this technique I got the Minerals to last a 10 hour workday with only a touchup later on my nose where I have a broken blood vessel (Nothing normally covers it, but the minerals do an excellent job).
The best thing about PUR Minerals is that the Bismuth Oxychloride "(Which makes the minerals adhere better to the skin) is #5 on the ingredient list. It is a common irritant in Minerals and is one of the reasons BE made me itch so bad. It is #1 ingredient in BE foundations (It's not in the mineral veil), With PUR I had no itching so there must be much less in it. So for my sensitive skin this is a boon.
The only thing I do not like about mineral makeup in general is that if you have any dry patches on your skin, they will eventually show up fairly easily. But I will say my skin is healing really well by using minerals instead of liquid.

I bought pur minerals after using a liquid foundation for 10 years that was discontinued. I wanted to try a power foundation because I have oily skin, and I was hoping that the powder would help to keep my skin from looking shiny. I also suffer from mild acne, so I needed something that was light enough to even out my skin tone in some places, but heavy enough to cover blemishes, healing zits, and light scars.
I started off by having an Ulta employee apply the product to half of my face. She explained how to apply it step by step, and showed me exactly how easy it was. When I looked in the mirror I could not believe that it was a powder foundation!
I purchased the starter kit and began using it at home, in conjuction with Cargo Blu Ray Mattifier as a primer (although it works well without the mattifier).
I Loved the fact that the foundation can be layered with a concealer brush to mask acne or scars, and it still looks natural and blends right in with the rest of my skin.
The Mineral glow is FANTASTIC! it does not make you look like you've rolled in cheese doritos or you've spent too much time on the jersey shore. I like to use it lightly all over in the summer to provide an enhancement to my "tan", and lightly in the spring/fall/winter to give my face the slightest bit of color. If I'm going for a natural look and I don't feel like putting eye makeup on I will dust it on my eyelids and apply a brown mascara for a "barely there" look.
The marbled blush is nice as well, but I've noticed that if I get a blush that has more of the darker pink tones than the lighter pink in the marbling it can be too dark for my skin, and I have to apply it very lightly.
I really like the chisel brush and haven't had any problems with it shedding at all. I clean my brushes once a month with Sephora brush cleaner, and weekly on a damp towel.
Two things I did not like was the size of the foundation in the starter kit - especially because the Ulta employee showed me the full size compact during the demonstration. I wasn't expecting a travel size. The foundation also ran out much faster than the bronzer or blush - I purchased 2 more full size compacts before the bronzer ran out.
You also have to be careful to use a blush or bronzer brush when applying the bronzer and blush. The chiseled brush seems to pull the foundation off rather than layering the blush and bronzer on top of the foundation.
I would highly recommend this kit to someone who wants to try a mineral foundation. I have been using pur minerals for a year now and I don't think I'll be switching any time soon!

I am mac nc20, very sensitive combo skin. This stuff is amaaaaazing! Perfect coverage, looks totally natural and doesn't break me out, and is so fast and easy to apply. Doesn't oxidize or turn orange me as BE does. The 'blush' is more of a luminizer and I use it as more of a highight and under my eyes. Bronzer is perfect for my fair skin and again looks totally natural. I would def repurchase but don't think I will use all the products up at the same time so will likely next time just purchase the foundation.

Oprah loves it so it must be great! I believe! This was my introduction to Pur Minerals and I am now hooked.
I would recommend this for light-medium coverage. When my acne is worst in the winter months this isn't enough coverage.
PROS: The three products you receive are the travel sizes, this really allows you to know which products you like and which ones you might put into your daily routine/repurchase. You may also just want to buy this product on the side of the full sizes because it is all convenient travel sized and you get a free brush. The makeup stays on all day and looks natural. I had a tan for the first time in my life with the bronzer. I am super white and this makeup looks natural.
CONS: I love how the brush applies the makeup and do not like to use my own brushes but I found after the first time I washed it the brush began to shed. Also, I repurchased this set and the brush I received with the second set was of a lower quality and actually fell completely apart the second time I washed it.
BOTTOM LINE: If you like mineral makeup, if you hate mineral makeup, if you are interested in mineral makeup, if you aren't interested in mineral makeup... the $40 is a great investment and is cheep for the amount of product you receive.

Once again, I ran out of MAC Studio Fix so I was on the prowl for a new foundation. I tried the kit in Golden Medium and thought I liked it... but after a few hours I noticed the color was just too weird on me. Too light with a weird cast to it. Very unnatural.
So I exchanged it for Tan, the next color in their line... WAY TOO DARK. WTF? Seriously how can they jump from such a light color to such a dark color?
Then I thought maybe I could mix the two of them... Nope, not a good color either, plus the coverage wasn't good and I think i started breaking out in weird places.
Back to Ulta it they went... I wanted to like this, I really did... but the coverage wasn't enough for me, and the color range blows.
However, I did enjoy the blush in Pink and the bronzer. I would possibly purchase those on their own. I also rather liked the chisel brush. Perhaps I'll buy the kit just for those 3 items while its still on sale at Ulta for $25, since I can't use the actual foundation. ;o)

While I am a die hard EM fan, I am tired of having to deal w/ spillage (in spite of the closable sifters) when I travel or in my purse for the occasional touch-up.
I purchased this starter kit which included the chisel brush + mini sizes of foundation (Light), blush (Universal Marble in Pink) and bronzer (Mineral Glow).
At first, I was concerned because the foundation contains bismuth oxychloride (a skin irritant to some). However, after using for 2 weeks = NO skin problems or reactions at all!
I use my EM flat top brush for application of the foundation. This 4 in 1 foundation claims to be a concealor, foundation, powder and spf (15) all in one. Myself, I find that it gives me the same wonderful level of coverage as EM, but since it is portable (being in a compact), I will be able to use this for travel and in my purse for touchups. I also find I can use less for those "light makeup" wknds. However, unless I'm doing a "light makeup" wknd, I do usually start w/ my EM concealors before putting this on to get the amount of coverage I need for my mild rosecea. Its coverage lasts as long on me as EM (4 hours before needing touchup).
I use my EM angle brush for application of the blush. I get a beautiful rosy/pink color that is highly pigmented (translation, use light hand) which lasts all day (just as long as my EM blushes) and looks very natural on my fair skin.
I use my Ecotools powder brush or Ecotools retractible kabuki brush (depending on how much color I want) for application of the bronzer. I get a beautiful golden/bronzy w/ very little shimmer that looks very natural on my fair skin.
(NOTE - no matter which MMU I'm using, I always now set it w/ Skindinivia Dance! and my MMU is set for 10 hours.)
This is a pricey product. Hhowever, I was able to get my starter kit at 25% off during Ulta's sale.
I am really impressed w/ this and love the options it gives me as far as portability and ease of use. If I were to ever stop using EM, this would be my go-to 100% of the time!!

I bought this kit with the intention that I would experiment with it to see if I could wear it to my BGF wedding, as I had worn BM a few years ago to a wedding after having had a baby--My skin was flawless and I received so many compliments that day.
FOUNDATION does not have the same coverage as BM by far; it is ok for a day when you don't feel like wearing makeup but I am not too happy with the foundation.
MINERAL GLOW is great. It warms up your whole face; not really a bronzer as it is a little light. It gives the face a beautiful glow.
BLUSH is pretty, gives me a natural flush. I had bought the full size years ago and not used it. But now I will definitely be using it once my little one runs out. I put it on my cheekbones (following the advice of YT gossmakeupartist). I also put a little on my lids and lips. It really brightens up my whole face. I have not noticed the crayonlike smell though.
SO in conclusion, would I repurchase this product? The foundation: NO;
Mineral Glow: YES; the blush: YES, though you use so little that it is going to last me a very long time.
UPDATE: I used the powder foundation 2 days ago and it broke me out in certain places (one on my nose, one on my cheek, and one on my nose).
I still love the Mineral Glow; I bought the full size. I even tested it out on my mother in law, who is 66, and she loved it. She went out and bought one. I can not say enough about how much I love this product. I bought a another PUR Kit (feautured in mosr recent ULTA catalogue) for 30$ which comes with a full size Mineral Glow, a beautiful trio of eyeshadow (earthy tones) and a lipgloss, plus you get another trio of eyeshadows for FREE.

I bought this product to try it and switch up from my MAC Mineralized Pressed Powder. Looking for moderate coverage and to even out my skin tone. Sadly, I wasn't impressed and decided to get my money back. I found that my skin broke out in a small ichy rash from the PurMineral 4-in-1 pressed powder. Coverage was light and breathable - but the coverage was not enough to my liking and not worth the price point either.

I bought the kit a little over a year ago and I can't say much about the bronzer (which I never used). The 4-in-1 was decent--for lazy people like me. I didn't use it as foundation, however. I used it to even out the uneven areas around my face and underneath my eyes (dark circles). I've tried the blush several times but it's not that great. The color was..not very noticeable. The brush wasn't soft (it was prickly at times) but it did work. All in all, I didn't love this nor did I not like it. I did end up purchasing the 4-in-1 again because it was useful at times when I was in a rush or on-the-go. For the price, I don't think it was worth the $35 (I got it discounted, though).

This one kind of has me on edge. If it were a drugstore product, I would be somewhat impressed. But considering the price and the way it looked, this is not a good value at all. Coverage was sheer to medium, which was a little disappointing only because it promises to cover a lot, but it was enough for me. But I tried hard to get this makeup to blend into my skin, and it just wasn't happening even with moisturizer in the mix. I'm guessing this works well for oily skin as areas on my skin that weren't so dry did look nice. But if you have dry skin, I can't recommend this product because plain and simple this will make it look drier. The tone seemed a bit more orange than I'd like too. I tried the blush and it was nothing to write home about. It seemed more like a gimmick addition. I did like the brush; I may buy it separately. But overall not worth over $30.

I bought this product when i went up to my cottage and forgot all my makeup at home. I was skeptical at first, thinking that the powder would give me a cakey, unnatural look, but the coverage was great and I didn't get the powdery look I thought!
Foundation: I am a pail person with a difficult mix of pink and yellow in my skin and it's usually very hard to find the right match. This foundation, though it wasn't the exact colour when compared side by side, was the perfect shade when on. I was very happy with the texture and the brush is perfect for the product. Yes the brush does shed a little but any other brush doesn't work as well so you just deal with it.
Blush: My least favourite product in the kit. The shade was too dark of a pink and I would always look silly with it on. It either was too much or you couldn't see it at all. Yes it does smell like crayons! That is the most accurate description of the smell that I have ever heard (or read).
Mineral Glow: LOVE IT. I have such a hard time finding a contour colour that fits my skin tone without making it look like I'm drawing faux-sideburns on my face. This product gives just the right amount of shading and blends nicely.
I have already bought a big foundation when the little one ran out and I am certainly buying a Mineral Glow when the little one runs out aswell. I would definitly suggest this product to anyone.

I got this during Ulta's recent promotion where you could actually -GASP- use the 20% off coupon on some high end products. I'd been wanting to try Pur Minerals. I kinda wish I'd just bought the powder but you live you learn.
Foundation : Love. I've tried many, many foundations on the search for the 1. I've not used this enough to know this is my HG but it's highest on the list. I'm super duper pale and this matches me and really does look like I'm wearing nothing while it does cover flaws. I have redness around my nose and occasional acne on my chin and also scars from old breakouts on my chin and it covers all that very well. And no powdery look. Will buy again when the small size runs out.
ETA: Nevermind, don't love it anymore. As I got further down the pan, it looks kinda ashy on me. Not worth the high price tag. I've got some sample sizes of Everyday Minerals coming to try.
Brush: on the fence. It is a little scratchy and it does shed but I tried applying the foundation with my ELF studio powder brush and the application wasn't as nice. So it does go on better with this, but I would love an alternative because everytime I'm pulling hairs off my face - not what you want in a brush that runs 22 bucks
Blush: I don't love it. It smells like crayons, as others have said. I've used it maybe 3 times, and gotten different results each time. 1 time it looked amazing, another I looked like a clown, and another just meh. I wouldn't buy this
Bronzer: Not really a bronzer as it's far to light for that but I'm ok with that because I'm really to pale for traditional bronzer. It does give you a more awake, healthy look but I still don't see myself buying this on it's own. I might go for the white one they have though.
So out of everything, the only thing I do forsee myself buying is the foundation. I will mention, I have bought their "Paint By Numbers" eyeshadow palette and LOVE it and also have 1 of the eyeliners and just ok with it. So I guess they're kinda hit or miss for me.
ETA:
THE BRUSH IS HORRIBLE!!!! It was always itchy and kind of harsh but I washed it (gently, with J&J baby shampoo) and it poofed out every which way and got MORE stiff. And the foundation, while a decent match, makes my face kinda ashy and dead. This kit was just a miss for me. I dropped off a lippie. The Paint By Numbers palette I mentioned is awesome though!

I bought it for $35 dollars. I didn't like the overall look that it gave me. It didn't look as natural as I'd like. I have acne so I got the green primer and it made my face color change in an unnatural way...I know that is very light weight and I used little but it still didn't look natural. The only two things I still use from the kit is the blush and bronzer which I like. :)
Did I mention the smell of their product is just weird where words can't describe. Not a good smell.
