This l/s is amazing. I got this as part of the Laura Mercier Grabbag event summer of 2009.
I wasn't expecting too much, honestly. in the tube it looks rather dark, and so far anything with a shade that rosey looking would look super dark and vibrant on my lips, almost in an unnatural "too much makeup" way. However i was pleasantly surprised to see how great this lipstick turned out to be.
it's a rosy pink mauve-ish color that leans slightly toward cool. I'm NC25 asian with neutral warm yellow skin and very pigmented lips. Because this l/s leans toward cool, it turns rosy on me with just a FAINT faint purplish sheen to it. What results is a gorgeous rosy pout, but with the purple undertone/sheen, made it look like i was out in the cold for a while and my lips are flushed and rosy.
the formula is also super moisturizing, very much like applying a good lipbalm. this is much more moisturizing and nicer feeling than all the Revlon l/s i have (including cs soft&smooth, super lustrous, and colorburst). Honestly speaking, this is THE best feeling l/s i have ever tried, from all kinds of diff brands of l/s i got. Unlike the Estee Lauder l/s (also very soft and creamy and moisturizing, but stains my teeth and does not sink into my lips), the color sort of sinks into my lips and doesn't look like i have a layer of red cream thingies on my lip. VERY natural looking.
honestly this l/s is amazing, and i'm now tempted to go try out more LM l/s!!

Laura Mercier's Plum is a wonderfully rosey pink color that is long wearing, tolerating drinking, etc. Moisturnizing, it feels so much better than its competitors at about only $7 more. I've arrived at the point where I'm ditching the matte, dry lipsticks on my vanity because they feel absolutely AWFUL. I'm totally new to Laura's line after reading rave reviews here on Makeup Alley. I'm so thankful I found this makeup!

Sugar Plum is a medium pink leaning on the cool side, but not so cool that it looks purple on my lips. It looks like a beautiful rosy pink on my lips. It is a cream, with no apparent shimmer, but does have a glossy, shiny finish so it doesn't look flat at all and would be just fine worn by itself. Since I am warm toned, I do often wear Sugar Plum with a sheer corally gloss though.
The texture of the Laura Mercier stickglosses is just TDF. They are the most comfortable lipsticks I own, and a pleausre to wear. They are nicely glide-y and very, very light-feeling on the lips, but don't migrate/feather or sink into the liplines. On top of all this, they are not in the least bit drying - in fact I think they are actually quite conditioning. I have really, really dry lips. Even the best lipstick formulas touted to be good for dry lips (MAC Cremesheens - the original colors, MAC lustres, Dior Addict HS) leave my lips dryer at the end of the day. Only Laura Mercier stickglosses leave them better off. They are the only lipsticks I don't have to wear balm under.
Stickglosses are quite long-lasting too. With all my other lipsticks, I distinctly notice when they fade away because my lips start drying out then. I don't so much notice that with stickglosses and I would say they easily last 5-6 hours on my lips (less when eating/drinking) and fade to a nice stain (though this is definitely time-dependent with shade). The shinyness does significantly fade over time, but I find that the conditioning properties of the lipstick do not fade as quickly like my other lipsticks.
While they are on the expensive side at $20, they are seriously the best lipstick formula I have tried to date, and I adore them. The packaging is nothing special, but serviceable. I would certainly buy Sugar Plum again if I ever ran out and I am in the process of collecting more stickglosses (I now have 4 total).

I kept trying to buy this color and my local counters were always out. Now, I know why. It is the perfect soft rosy pink. Its slightly cool and just perfect for days when I go with a soft pink look. The finish of these stickglosses is great. They're very moisturizing and the staying power is pretty good for such a moist lipstick. The wait was worth it. Sometimes you have a feeling a product will work for you and then you finally try it and it does. I couldn't be happier with this. Sugar Plum is really nice with green eyes. $20 at Nordstrom. For reference, I'm a PPP, NC20, with blonde hair and green eyes; I wear Porcelain or Nude in LM's Tinted Moisturizer, depending upon the time of year.

My favorite lip color! It is a soft, glossy pink with blue undertones. This works wonderfully for day, keeping my lips remarkably moisturized while staying on for hours. Looks great against my PPP complexion, blond hair and hazel eyes. A mainstay in my beauty bag.

LOVE! This is more pink in real life, very little plummy undertones, in my opinion. Wears beautifully, ultra moisturizing. This shade brightens up my whole face! :)
